This experience was relaxing, inspiring and so much fun. It was a beautiful opportunity to slow down, get our hands dirty and create something special while enjoying a little moment of calm in the middle of a busy city. A truly memorable experience that we would highly recommend to anyone visiting Athens and looking for something a little different. Thank you for such a lovely afternoon! ❤️

Itinerary
In our workshop we will be exploring Ceramic art with the help of one of the two local pottery artists, Pavlos and Rossina, in the center of Athens. We will go through a creative process, get familiar with the tools and also learn handbuilding pottery techniques. Step by step, we will wander from wedging and pinching the clay to adding your personal touch on your piece. Everybody can participate no matter if they are beginners or experienced. Our purpose is to guide you so that you enjoy this experience and create from scratch a unique piece of art. There is the option of firing, transparent glazing and shipping your finished piece upon request (shipping fee not included).

Friendly artist/sculptor, bilingual, informative about different clays and it's properties. Cafe very close by if you want to bring a coffee with you. May benefit from a colourful sign for tourists to spot and cold water flask to offer in the studio, August I can imagine gets very hot inside.
To start, the instructor was very patient with me and my friend, lol! We didn't feel lost at any point and he engaged with us and our 'projects', along with some general chat which all made the experience very comfortable and fun :) - - - Plus, we didn't share this, but we both have autism and anxiety, and I thought he still treated us kindly and patiently (again, something we worry about), especially with us commonly having problems with Greek accents, haha 😅 , and his English was super 🤙 - - - Despite the obvious guidance, the pottery-making itself felt very creative and we had alot of time to shape and design it however we wanted - also, we were able to use the full 2 hours advertised without feeling rushed (idk about these other reviews, but definitely not us) - - - So, I think this experience is whatever you make of it, but you will definitely feel comfortable no matter what 😊🫶 thanks
We had an awesome day kneding, molding, turning, and perfecting our pottery creations. We were coached on each step. It is amazing how different each piece became with the same instructions. We laughed and were surprised at the results. The kids won the day with the best pottery results! Great memories.
Great experience. The kids loved it. Super helpful with both the pottery and offering suggestions for our trip. It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip.
What an absolute blast!’ Nothing like getting your hands in clay and feeling what it was like to step back in time and make your own piece of pottery. Great instructor! We laughed and learned and had a wonderful time.
Very good instructor, professional, fun, great experience. Very knowledgeable and patient with us will definitely come again
We traveled to Athens for a few days and booked a ceramic-making class. The experience itself was enjoyable. However, despite the details stating that finished items could be shipped, the owner was unresponsive, took several weeks to reply, and was slow to provide even a photo of the final product. Additionally, there was little flexibility regarding courier options, even though other alternatives were available. It would have been nice to receive the item as a souvenir from the experience.
We truly enjoyed the pottery class. It was a wonderful experience where we learned many interesting facts about pottery and gained hands-on practice. The instructor was exceptionally patient, supportive, and attentive throughout the session. He kindly even arranged coffee for us, which added a warm and thoughtful touch to the experience. Overall, it was a delightful and educational activity that we would definitely recommend.
This was such an awesome experience! Paul (Pavlov…I hope I spelt I’m his name right) was great and personable! Our small group of 3 had an amazing time and we didn't feel rushed!
Great experience! Instructor was so fun and friendly! Super great at explaining the techniques and made it really easy to get comfortable making our pottery. So glad we booked with him! Can’t wait to get our creations!
This was a highlight of our time in Athens! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time learning about pottery and making our own pieces! Super super fun, friendly, and knowledgeable ceramic artist who was encouraging and an amazing teacher! Highly recommend this activity! Such a great deal and so so worth it!!
I went to the studio with my two preteen kids. The neighborhood was very desolate and a bit creepy....like a ghost town. The man who was to be our teacher was getting defensive about many things. I said we were thirsty and he replied, "Well I don't sell water here." I asked him to repeat what he said politely, "Could you pls repeat that?" To which he replies, "You can't understand me? I'm speaking English." I explained that his accent was very thick plus I have a hearing impairment. I asked him when the other local artist would be joining to teach us as the title for the activity is "Ceramic and Pottery Creative Workshop with TWO Local Artists." I have a child with a disorder and somewhere someone had mentioned the other artist being a female and my child would only feel comfortable if there was a female teaching so I told him that "This is what the title is of the experience" to which he replied, "That's JUST the title." Of course, that's absurd as a title gives you the main info/most important details about what you'll be experiencing. And I expressed that this could be difficult for my kid. He declared "I"ve decided you should go. I am insulted!" This was completely shocking/bizarre and totally unprofessional. To have a workshop with this title and be offended that someone expects what is written shows his unprofessionalism and that he has some issues unfortunately. My kids and I left. We were a bit shocked but we had a nice time afterwards. Definitely DO NOT recommend!!!
We spent a very Good Time. We Wonder this Activity. We recomand you because it was so fun. Very relaxing Thank you for your welcome.
We did this class in May and paid for our pieces to be shipped to Ireland. They never arrived and he’s ignoring messages after saying he sent them in September. Look at the other reviews and avoid this class as he’s clearly a scammer. So disappointing as the pieces we made held sentimental value.
Fun and engaging pottery workshop! Great instructor with a sense of humor. A lovely time with my sisters!
Paul and his assistant were wonderful . It is amazing that we created art from scratch especially me that i was completely ignorant with the material.
My friend and I went here on September 2023 and the workshop experience itself was okay. Cool activity, but I suggest going to another studio if you’d like to keep your ceramics and not have the rude aftermath others experienced as you can read on other reviews. They told us they can deliver each piece and heat it in their kiln after a month or so as long as we pay 30 Euros each piece. Unfortunately, after over a year of messaging them, we never got it at all. It’s a tourist trap! So, beware, and avoid going through what we experienced. The first few messages they’ll message saying they know you paid, they got super busy, they still need more time, etc., but after a while I was just left on Read. I was very patient, and was very understanding, but after a long time, I just accepted we’ll never actually get them altogether. It’s disappointing honestly because they were pieces that were meant as a gift.
Only one artist was there and it was just 3 of us. It felt very special and we enjoyed the class. Good way to connect with teenagers.
Great experience but was disappointed that we didn’t get to keep our completed pieces. Wish we would have know this in advance.
We really enjoyed this experience. The instructor was very patient and helpful - great for those who have never made pottery. Would highly recommend!
Uninformed, uncomfotable, info not available from the start, the people were fine though, interesting, polite.. Info isnt available when booking. Did you know it takes 5 to 6 days to dry, then 2 days in the stove, and then another days work of glazing? And that process is not included in the price, and not included anyway? Did you know your work will be recycled? That you are not able to fly with your work? That you only have exactly 2 hrs and be rushed out? I expected more.
We feel that there was a discrepancy between the description of this workshop and our experience. Half way through the session, when he was speaking to another customer, he identified that we were there for the experience only and that there were extra costs involved in being able to take our pieces home with us as in his words we had paid only for “the experience”. We tried to explain how we felt that we had been mislead by the wording of the “what’s included” section and were not expecting to have to pay extra for the firing and glazing of our pieces because it states that what’s included is the “construction of a usable piece”. By his own admission, it cannot be a usable piece unless it is fired and glazed. In trying to clarify what he meant, in contrast with what was stated in the description, he became quite aggressive (which he apologised for afterwards and blamed it on being an artist) and very rude. This created a very uncomfortable atmosphere for the remainder of the workshop. We all agreed that it would be best for future customers for this wording to be changed and for the advert to be clearer and he said that he would change it. We were going to refrain from leaving any review as we only like to leave positive ones, however, no changes have been made to this page since our visit. Therefore, we believe it’s still unclear for future customers. Should visitors consider attending this workshop in future, we believe it is important for you to be aware of the following points: - Firing and glazing of your piece is not included. - “Option of picking up from the studio or shipping your piece back home upon request.” 1. We wrongly assumed that a few days would be sufficient time to pick up our pieces. The artist stated a three week waiting period. 2. Delivery cost is directly linked to the weight of the piece you create. Therefore, bear this in mind at the beginning when choosing the size of your piece, as the price jumps considerably. We hope that this is helpful to future visitors.
We went as a family with 3 children (10, 8, and 3). The artist did a fantastic job teaching at each individuals’ pace, level of understanding, and level of interest. While there may be more ‘thrilling’ activities out there, this was a home-run for my daughter and a really nice change of pace from other attractions. Highly recommended. Only downside is that you don’t keep the pottery - which makes sense given pottery needs to dry for a week then be put in a kiln for a long period.
My family and I really enjoyed the pottery class. This class was very calming and therapeutic, and Pavlos went and guided us at each persons own pace. We had fun and recommended this to anyone wanting a calming and creative activity!
A truly unique and memorable experience, not only for creative people, but everyone wanting to have a good time.
The activity was great, very relaxing and therapeutic. The only reason as to why I’m giving a 3 star is because I am still waiting for the ceramics to be delivered. I did a workshop end of November, paid for the delivery for the ceramics for when they will be ready. They said that it will take roughly about 2 months as they can be busy. I’ve waited but never really got any updated about anything until I message 2 months later. My messages have been ignored and there has always been a problem with the posting and I get no update what so ever for it from them. I understand that they can be busy but they read the messages and never get back to it. It’s very frustrating.
The workshop itself was super nice, just when we wanted to pick up our works it was very frustrating… the communication afterwards was very difficult and unreliable. Disappointingly, one work was broken and the other was not finished even after 4 weeks. We left with no result and €30 less in our pockets, all we were left with was the good feeling of having supported an artist.
Awesome experience , workshop and the people working were super nice! Highly recommend for any one who wants a calm relaxing experience after running around and seeing all the sites in Athens
A wonderful experience with a great teacher. We learned a lot and also had fun. Location was an easy walk from the center. So happy we added this to our list of Athens experiences.
Unprofessional and rude. He said he needs 2 weeks to dry our ceramics. He's been avoiding us for the whole time, even though we contacted him plenty of times. After 6 months we still haven't received our ceramics. I wouldn't recommend.
We had a good time but we could not get back in any way the pieces we mad. When we tried to contact back / pass by the shop to get the pieces we faced a very unprofessional behaviour from the owner that didn't want to give our pieces back.
This was an altogether fun and memorable experience for both me and my five year old son. Would warmly recommend it
It was such a great experience! He took so much time to explain everything in detail – highly recommend☺️
George is easy to work with and is a great guide. He shows you how to do it and gives you tips and feedback to complete the task. He also is really encouraging of creativity.
We had a really good time with my friend, Rosalina was so nice ! We did what we wanted and she listened to our inspiration. I recommend it for sure !
First time working with clay, was harder than I thought but fun! Great teacher patient and helpful. Suggested!
My daughter and I had such a wonderful experience. The teacher was so knowledgeable and patient and we learned so much. We also met another person in the class who we enjoyed. The class was just the three of us and the teacher. I would highly recommend this workshop.
Great session but do NOT purchase the pottery to be shipped. Never shipped and it’s been 4 months now and no shipping after asking
The pottery workshop was fun and amazing. The local artist, Paylos, is such a nice guy. He gave us simple instructions and explained the theory behind that. He encouraged us to use our creativity and imagination to create our own piece of work. This experience ignites my interest in pottery and ceramic and I believe I will try more in the future. At the end of workshop, you can choose to collect your piece of work after 2 weeks or ship it to your country with a fee of €35 per piece. As these were our first pieces of pottery and we love them so much, of course we chose to ship them. Overall, this js a very interactive and inspiring workshop. Very good activity for family and friends.
Mind-opening experience. Information was communicated calmly and clearly. Really nice experience. Would do it a second time. Instructor was really pleasant.
Our instructor was friendly, a wonderful teacher and we had such a great time!! We were given techniques to complete our products well and are looking forward to the final product!
We had so much fun at the workshop! It was the most relaxing part of our trip. Everything was explained in a fun way and you get a little taste of what pottery is like. Would definitely recommend!
Our family went here in June and had a nice time despite it being very hot in the studio. At the end he told us that he needs two weeks for the ceramics to dry and glaze and he can mail them to us at a cost of 30 euro each. Seemed expensive but fine. So we paid 180 eruos and he said that they should arrive in 3-4 weeks. As you can see from the pictures / thread, he has been giving us the runaround and it is over two months from now and we still dont have the art work. Including the actual event, we paid nearly $400 and have nothing to show for it. I am praying that they will come but have lost all faith. I should have known better when he told me to privately send him the money via Paypal as a "friend and family"
Very enjoyable experience. Pavlos is very experienced and helpful + speaks good English. Was able to request our pieces to be shipped internationally.
Sharing art with like people. Fun environment, warm friendly instructor. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Art is healing!
I would have given 5 stars but the overview description on Viator stated the use of the electric pottery wheel. We only did a hand building project. However Pavlos made it fun and my family did have a great experience at the studio. I think the description should be clear as to what to expect, because the other family that was there also expected to use the wheel as well.
It was a really fun class. We learned the basic steps and techniques to create our own unique piece. The instructor was very friendly and knowledgeable.
A fun and creative afternoon with an experienced teacher who helped us along the way! Would highly recommend
The class was great, I learned a lot and the employees were very helpful and friendly. Although I couldn’t take my pieces home, since I had a flight scheduled the next day, they offered many options so my work wouldn’t go to waste:) would definitely do this class again
