Fabulous half day trip. The guide was very engaging and shared lots of interesting facts. The collection was directly from the hotel and the trip was timed so that Poseidons Temple was empty when we arrived.

Itinerary
This half day small-group tour begins by picking you up from your hotel or apartment. If your hotel/apartment is not accessable ( e.g pedestrian area), we will apoint a nearby location for picking you up.
You will drive along coastal roads passing through some of Athens most beautiful suburbs (Glyfada, Vouliagmeni, Varkiza) and watching some amazing views of the Saronic Gulf as well as modern south suburbs of Athens .
A short stop for amazing photos at one of Athens most photographed location. Vouliagmeni lake is the result of a volcanic eraption which lies bellow sea level. A lake by the sea , certainly one of a kind!
After a 50 minute drive along the coastal road and driving through idyllic beaches and small villages, you will have your first stop at a nearby beach. Relax by the deep blue waters of the Aegean sea and enjoy refreshments, a beer or a light meal. Swimming is available at the beach as well, just remember to bring your swimsuits and beach towels Please note that the beach stop operates from early May to late October, depending on the weather and the specific date when the time changes between summer and winter time, and vice versa. You are welcome to use the public beach area and the public changing rooms, bathrooms, and showers at no cost. However, if you wish to use organized facilities such as sunbeds, umbrellas, etc., additional fees will apply, payable directly to the beach businesses that provide these services. Our agency is not affiliated with these businesses, and these costs are not included in the price of our activity
Last stop will be at the location of a temple dedicated to the god of the sea, Poseidon. The host driver guide will provide you background information about the 5th century B.C. temple. Free time to watch the famous sunset if you choose to go for the sunset tour.
Just after sunset we will drive back to Athens. The tour finishes by dropping you off at your hotel or apartment.

We found it overpriced. We even had to pay another $20 if we wanted to walk up to the Poseidon. It should’ve been included. Not even a bottle of water.offered on the bus.
We had a brand new Mercedes van. They picked me up on time the view of the sea was marvelous the sunset and the Poseidon temple was very special. Download the QR and listen to the descriptions is much more rewarding. When you’re there you buy your own entry ticket. It was all very worthwhile.
Awesome our tour guide Danila was very funny and great! The road trip was very pleasant, easy, informative and the view when we reached was next level!
It was a lovely drive from Athens and the history shared by our tour leader, Julia, was great. The views when walking next to the ruins were incredible!
It was a great tour. The history is amazing. Our guide was very knowledgeable and allowed us to explore on our own. Even though we didn’t get to see the sunset, the colours of the sky were spectacular.
This tour was absolutely beautiful! The scenic coastal drive, breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea, and the Temple of Poseidon made for an unforgettable experience. A wonderful way to explore beyond Athens and enjoy some of Greece’s incredible history and scenery. Definitely worth it!
Great guide and beautiful sights!!!
The excursion was run nicely. The pick up at our hotel was on time. If you are booking from Athens, be prepared for a one hour ride to and from the Poseidon Temple. It costs an additional $20 to enter the temple, and the climb is minimal. There is also a nice eating area and bathrooms at the base (bring toilet paper). We did not stop to swim at the water area, possibly because of the cooler temp. We were only able to take pictures from above. It was nice being away from the crowds of the city and the sunset was lovely, but it was a long way to travel for ruins much smaller than the Acropolis. Traffic makes the ride back to Athens a bit longer.
It waa a very enjoyable drive along the coast road. Our guide, Maria, was very pleasant and informative. She gave us many tidbits of information.
Faye was very knowledgeable and friendly. The Zeus Temple was neat and the sunset was beautiful. It was nice to have a restaurant there.
I thought it was way too expensive as a solo traveler. You charged me $75 as a solo and had I booked 2 it would have been $40/person. I might have understood if the van was empty and I had to cover for empty seats. It was fully booked, not 1 empty seat. This is price gauging and just basic discrimination for being 1 person. You should adjust the price accordingly. Also, it was not worth the travel time to the Temple of Poseidon for just a mediocre sunset. It should have been a spectacular event and it was far from it. The guide was fine and lovely as well as the driver. I would NOT recommend wasting your money on this adventure. I've been on many viator tours all over the world and this was by far the most disappointing. Maybe I'm too well traveled for this experience as it was boring. I'm not sure why we stopped at a lake to view it. It's a lake. Nothing special So disappointing 😒 Unless this is your first time looking at ruins by the sea you could justify it, you would have done better staying in Athens as there's so much more to cover in 5 hours. This was a colossal waste of time.
Tour was nice but we felt rushed. Expect to have 45min max at the ruins. 10min less if you go to the ticket office and the bathroom. Ruins close at sunset and you have to be back in the bus 10min after sunset. I would have loved to have 30min more time there to really be there and feel the place. Food arrives pretty late at the beach stop restaurant. So we had 15min to eat, pay and to walk back to the bus. Bus and tour guide were great and caring
This was an excellent tour and our tour guide Marie was amazing. She definitely knew her history of Greece and all the Greek Gods! The Poisiden Temple was another amazing piece of history! We loved the view of the Aegean Sea and the beautiful landscape! We also visited the most spectacular lake that was both salt and fresh water! Our driver was excellent and he got us through the unreal traffic with no issues. I would definitely recommend this tour to everyone!
It's pricey for what it is, which is essentially just a ride out to the temple. The history was interesting, and the guide was great and personable. The two stops along the way were kind of a waste. It felt like we were forced to eat at the restaurant we were dropped at, because if you didn't want to swim there was nothing else to do. But we were hungry and the food was good - so it wasn't bad - just felt a little forced. It doesn't include the ticket for the temple so you will walk around that area by yourself with no history or guide. I would have preferred to pay a little more and have that included so we knew what we were looking at in real time. It was also veryyyy crowded at sunset - it was pretty but I'm not sure worth the hype of must-do-at-sunset. I'm glad I saw it, but I'd recommend just getting a guidebook and hiring a driver out, or paying more for a tour where entrance is included. You could tell they tried to make it worth your while - but I do a lot of tours and this one wasn't it.
We had a wonderful guide and a small group which made this trip super fun! Great way to spend half a day!
Well run tour, from pickup to very efficient dropoffs. Roy was a very knowledgeable and personable guide. The drive itself was scenic and informative. I liked the stop at Lake Vouliagmeni. The temple of Poseidon was interesting and a nice vantage spot for a sunset. There was a small restaurant and restrooms there, and a small hill for different vantage point.
We went on the sunset tour to Cape Sounion and the Temple of Poseidon, and it was the perfect way to end our trip to Greece! We enjoyed relaxing on the beach with some drinks before watching the sunset at the Temple. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the site, and we appreciated being able to walk around ourselves at the site.
Super tour - the guide was excellent, very knowledgeable. Visiting the temple was amazing.
Great trip with Mirta and Nikos.
Trip was good. Some history provided en-route so that was nice. Timing was laid out before departing which was helpful. Stopped for dinner/snack at the beach which broke things up nicely but would have been nice to stop somewhere more local less tourist/americanized food. Sunset was beautiful and got us promptly back on the bus. Would have been helpful to plan around a chosen pickup site rather than the assigned close-ish to a site picked by Le the day before for easier planning (for example I may have picked something closer to a different attraction and done that in the morning if I knew it would be a 30 min walk from my hotel).
The tour was truly enjoyable. While the bus ride was a bit lengthy, the Temple of Poseidon was well worth it. Julia, our guide, was extremely pleasant and highly knowledgable regarding the areas history and it ms geography. I would highly recommend this tour for the reasons mentioned.
I am Greek and and brought a friend to show her Greece. This was our last day and this trip seemed well suited for us. She see a beautiful goodbye sunset on our last day and I had never been to Sounion. It did not disappoint. Giota our guide was informative on the drive, we really enjoyed her.
The transportation was clean and on time, and the guide was friendly and punctual. Overall, the trip was enjoyable. However, the biggest disappointment was the one-hour stop at a mediocre beachside restaurant. The food was underwhelming. I ordered a Margherita pizza but was served what was essentially a plain cheese pizza, and the pork dish was overly salty. I would have much preferred to spend that extra hour exploring the ruins rather than sitting at a restaurant with disappointing food. The restaurant stop felt like a waste of valuable sightseeing time and took away from an otherwise good experience.
It was a beautiful ride along the Aegean Sea Coast. A couple of quick nice photo ops. Two longer stops. Historic Greek History Narrative.
Overall experience was ok. It was presented to us that they would pick us up and drop us off at hotel which they did not. The guide was hard to understand but she was facing the front and not towards us so it was hard to hear.
We bought this tour because it picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel. Neither one happened. The tour guide was difficult to understand, maybe because she faced away from us while talking in the van. The tour itself was enjoyable.
Very beautiful drive and we had the best Sunset view that day - along with. The story telling tale talent of our guide
Lovely experience and knowledgeable guide. We waited for the sun to set and got some wonderful photos. We would recommend this trip to friends.
Comfortable small group tour along Athens riviera, with two enjoyable stopovers and glorious sunset finale at Temple of Poseidon, providing rewarding photo opportunities. The tour guide was highly knowledgeable, engaging and an attribute to the trip.
We felt rushed. With recommendations from guide the restaurant was extremely slow and couldn’t finish our meal. Also guide was not there to advise that ticket was needed for entrance.
Great tour with an amazing guide Danae - Nice stops and info along the way about Greece and the tour - amazing ancient temple and location (though a foggy day meant not much sunset to see)
Beautiful day and beautiful sunset. Very relaxing way to end our trip.
Be prepared for long queues for the toilet at every stop on this trip! As tens of buses descend on the same spots for the ‘sunset’ tour there are 3 toilets for around 3000 people! Our operator told us to go upon arrival at the Temple of Poseidon as he wasn’t waiting after the sunset when queues are at their worst. The problem was there was only 15 mins left before entry to the monument closed and the queue (even then!) was taking around 10 minutes!
A great tour guide and an incredible location Very enjoyable I learned a lot about the history of the Greek gods and enjoy a beautiful location
Even though the weather was cool and cloudy, we really enjoyed the trip. The tour guide provided just the right amount of interesting information and was available to answer any questions, while also allowing time to enjoy on our own. The drive was nice, and pickup and dropoff worked very smoothly. We're very glad we took this tour!
Fun trip! The driver and tour guide were both very nice and very knowledgeable. We really enjoyed this trip!
It was a great experience. We saw so much and it was a relaxing excursion not a hurry up and go kind of excursion.
Relaxing drive out of the city with good breaks at the Temple of Poseidon and at a beach side caffe.
Paul was knowledgeable and with great sense of humor. Made a beach stop and a photo stop with plenty of time to enjoy. Recommend the tour 100%
Had a wonderful time on tour! The views were spectacular from the Temple of Poseidon; Sunset was amazing! We made 4 stops on the tour! The guide was very informative and attentive to the clients. The Viator app was helpful in times of when I had questions and very responsive no matter what time it was….
Lovely sunset trip with good stops and great team. Was very easy to meet up and Mirta our guide and our driver were both lovely and very professional
Our guide Mirta (sp?) was fantastic. She was incredibly knowledgeable and so much fun. There was so much history, storytelling, and interesting sites to see. We were told about things currently going on in Greece along with the history of the places we drove through and stopped at. Loved the free time and the clear instructions. The van/bus was also very comfortable. It was a great experience and we were so happy we booked this tour.
Great tour with excellent views. Knowledgeable tour guide. Nice break for a meal on the way down. Great door to door pickup.
Beautiful tour of an amazing place! Paul was very informative and knowledgeable. Lunch was great and we had plenty of time for pictures and looking around.
Servings of food at beach bar were large enough for 2. Don't require a minimum for comments or people will choose to not participate in ratings
A beautiful trip along the coast. Paul was a great guide and shared so much information about Greek myths, customs and culture. The van was superb as was our driver
This was a great tour with pickup. We had a great guide and driver. There were many facts given about the area, even more than expected. The beach area was nice to stop and sit outside the city.
Beautiful location with a very nice sunset, a few very nice stops along the way to break up the ride.
It's a beautiful drive and worth seeing if you have the time. We paid the entrance fee for the Temple of Poseidon but others could get a nice view climbing across some of the rocks outside the area where we stopped. Might not be worth the $$ for the short time there.
