The bus was okay, but heavy rain seemed to cause delays and made it difficult to time the buses even with the app. The driver was confused by our third party Viator ticket and we were not able to figure out if the night tour was included. I could have seemed more help but we were busy and weather was not favorable, so we somewhat gave up and did not get the full value of the three day pass.

We purchased a 48-hour sightseeing tickets for our family of four, hoping to make the most of our short holiday in Athens. Unfortunately, the experience was appalling. Wednesday 21 October We waited approximately an hour for a bus, despite a member of staff repeatedly reassuring us that it would arrive shortly. When we finally boarded, the bus took an unexpected diversion, spending much of the journey travelling along motorways. We had not been warned about this and saw virtually none of the sights we had paid to see. Unfortunately, our physical ticket was also blown away during the journey. Thursday 22 October We returned hoping to use the remaining validity of our 48-hour tickets. Despite providing proof of purchase that was online, providing proof of the email and a QR code we were refused boarding as it is apparently policy that the paper tickets rules everything and whatever you have purchased via their own website is meaningless! What followed was just unbelievable! The Driver would not move the bus repeating that we were to buy another ticket otherwise he would lose his job. After 15 minutes of going around in circles and leaving both our children, aged eight and ten, crying and and distressed he eventually drove to the city where we could speak to someone. The single member of staff that was in central Athens asked us to get off the bus to talk to us. Hs was unable to help as it was the policy of the company to provide paper tickets even after you had purchased a digital ticket online. We then had to spend about an hour chatting online to an agent who eventually provided an extension to the ticket so the paper copy could be issued. What a complete waste of time! Don’t bother using this company as there are plenty of others to choose from!

Highly recommend. I combined the City Tour with the Riviera tour over two days by the recommendations of Stefan He was great and explained everything clearly. Ensure you pick up earphones as you get on as the commentary of where you are is very good

I would like to commend the excellent work of mrs Joanna Giotitsa, a tour guide at Syntagma Square. She is a very cheerful person who sold us tickets on the morning of October 17th; she demonstrated a deep knowledge of the area, provided clear and precise information about the city, and offered some very valuable tips. I highly recommend her.

Good value to purchase 2 day package as its cheaper to explore the city. Pick up at their bus stop was not as frequent as they stated on their signs. We ended waiting 30 minutes in heavy rain.

Love the convenience of using this service. It's the best way to see a city like Athens. Bonus: the other 2 routes are very nice too and highly recommend the Riviera route if you have time.

The tour was really convenient because you could hop on and off whenever you wanted. Konstantinos was incredibly kind and even called another bus line to ask them to wait an extra minute for us so we wouldn’t miss the bus. Thank you Konstantinos!!!

Generally, the service itself is okay, and the drivers have been very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the scheduling and timetable are a complete mess, and even the agents working at the bus stops don’t seem to understand them. We arrived at Stop 1 well before the advertised last bus at 6:46pm, as clearly stated on both the app and the printed map. However, the agent at the stop insisted that the last bus had already departed at 5:30pm! With two children in tow, we were left with no option but to book a taxi back to our accommodation, which the agent simply stood and watched us do. I subsequently raised a complaint through the app, only to be told that the last bus was, in fact, scheduled for 6:46pm, exactly as we had originally understood! So either the agent had absolutely no idea what he was talking about, or the service wasn’t operating according to its published timetable. Either way, it’s completely unacceptable for a sightseeing company that families rely on to get around a city. This was our first experience with Big Bus Tours, and it will almost certainly be our last. There are more reliable alternatives available, and I would strongly recommend considering those instead. Friendly drivers are unfortunately not enough to make up for poor organisation, misleading information and a complete lack of customer service when things go wrong.

We had an Athene pass and this was included. We liked the Big bus tour and the information. Konstantinos helpt us with knowing at what time the busses came. We used it both days.

Great way to seethe sites on a tight schedule

Worse bus tour I ever took. Seats were uncomfortable. Drivers surly and at nearly every stop someone came through demanding you show your ticket. The audio was not very helpful and the Greek music was insipid. Don’t waste your money.

Skip this one. The bus was crowded. We were kicked off the bus to make way for a tour group that had to get to their ship. Another bus did not come for 45 minutes. A true waste of money.I

AWEFUL EXPERIENCE They come very irregularly. Had to wait thirty minutes at one stop which ruined my entire schedule

One of at least 3 hop-on-hop-off providers in Athens, and the least professional in appearance. Whether this also translates into their performance I don't know, but their service at their stops was poor on a couple of occasions. The worst experience was on arrival at the Acropolis, when the Big Bus trip claimed that the site was full, but she could book us on to a guided tour for a fee in a few hours' time. The Acropolis was not full, and we did a self-guided tour a coffee stop later. Book online; it's cheaper than buying from a rep at a bus stop, but check the other providers too. If you do pick Big Bus, don't rely on the bus tracking on their app, it is useless.

We always use Big Bus when we travel. In Athens, we purchased the 72-hour ticket, which included the evening tour. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the buses were clean and comfortable. We had a wonderful experience and strongly recommend Big Bus!

Use the big bus the first day I was in Athens. Easy to find stops. Stayed on all the spots and then chose what I wanted to see. The only issue I had it took awhile to get to another stop because of traffic and having the app didn’t tell u the correct time the bus was leaving. Headphones worked well

On our recent vacation in Athens my wife and I made extensive use of Big Bus Athens Hop-on Hop-off service to get around the city and see the sights. We found it an excellent service that ran on time and was frequent enough we seldom waited more than 10 minutes at a stop for the next bus. We encountered Tasos stationed at stop 1 in Syntagma Square who was especially helpful assisting us with ticketing, making useful suggestions and getting us on our way. We highly recommend this service.
