Sommelier was wonderfully informative and friendly. I learned things I didn't know. History of regions. Different methods if making wines. I now understand how to determine for myself the complexities and things like tannens, alcohol and how cheeses change flavor of wine. All very interesting and enjoyable. I would highly recommend for wine consumers of all levels. Being able to take my own bottle of wine home to California adds a special remembrence of my time in Athina.

We had an absolutely amazing time at this wine-making activity in Athens! The entire experience was hands-on, engaging, and so much fun from start to finish. We tasted five different red wines, each perfectly paired with a delicious cheese while we took notes and rated our favorites. The real highlight was getting to create our own custom blend based on what we liked best. To top it all off, we took a photo, printed it on a personalized label, corked our bottle, and hand-sealed it with wax to take home. It was such a unique and memorable souvenir from our trip to Greece. The only thing that would have made it 10/10 perfect would be including some white wine options in the selection, but even so, it was easily one of the best activities we did in Athens. Highly recommend!

This was a fun experience- just be aware it’s only red wines. That being said, it was a unique experience while I was in Athens and I have two bottles of wine that I get to have memories related with. You also learn about wine growing in Athens and how to actually properly discern and taste wine.

We had a wonderful visit. We were only the four of us and Anastasia, the wine connoisseur, was very knowledgeable, with a great personality. We learned so much about each wine, which was paired with cheese. The best part was creating our own blends with our own labels. All together a fun and educational experience.

I was really disappointed with the customer service. Unfortunately, I was admitted to hospital the night before the experience and was genuinely unable to attend. I contacted the provider as soon as I could to explain the situation. Prior to this, the provider had agreed to move my booking by 24 hours, but they never updated the booking or sent any confirmation. My booking continued to show the original date, which was confusing and unprofessional. After informing them that I had been admitted to hospital, I received no response whatsoever. My messages were completely ignored, and no refund or goodwill gesture was offered. During my trip, I had to cancel other excursions due to my illness, and every other provider was understanding and processed a full refund without any issues. Unfortunately, this provider was the complete opposite. Based on my experience, the lack of communication and customer care was extremely poor. I will be raising this with Viator in the hope they can help resolve the matter. I cannot recommend booking with this provider based on the level of customer service I received.

Great history, nice to learn more about wine. We had fun time making our own. Kind of an unexpected location though. Not anywhere near the Acropolis and no view of the Acropolis.

Very nice experience. You learn a lot about how wine was originally created. You get a history lesson and a workshop. At the end you’ll make your very own wine. Only thing I didn’t like was that they only have dry wine options

This was far more than a wine tasting – it was an immersive journey through the history, science and artistry of winemaking, led by the wonderful Artemis. We began by learning about the rich history of Greek wine and its remarkable influence on the wine industry around the world. It was fascinating to discover how vines originating in Greece helped shape many of the vineyards and wines we enjoy today. Artemis then guided us through the art of wine tasting, teaching us how professionals assess a wine’s intensity, acidity, tannins, alcohol content and overall character. It completely changed the way we think about wine and gave us a new appreciation for what is happening in every glass. The accompanying cheese pairings were excellent and really brought out the flavours and characteristics of each wine. The highlight of the experience was undoubtedly the blending workshop. Like a fun chemistry lesson for wine lovers, we experimented with different grape varieties and proportions to create our own unique blend. Once we had perfected our recipe, Artemis expertly blended the wine for us. We then corked our bottle, sealed it with wax, designed our own label and were provided with a gift bag to take home. Leaving with a bottle of wine that we had personally created made the experience feel incredibly special. Artemis was attentive, kind, engaging and genuinely passionate about her craft. Her enthusiasm was infectious and created a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere throughout the session. A fantastic way to spend a few hours in Athens. We arrived expecting a wine tasting and left with a much deeper understanding of wine, a greater appreciation for Greek winemaking, and a unique bottle that will always remind us of a wonderful experience. Highly recommended for wine enthusiasts and complete beginners alike.

If you are in Athens and love wine, do not skip this. We did the tasting with a group of six, including my sons and their girlfriends, and it was one of the highlights of our entire trip. Artemis was our guide and she was exceptional. Knowledgeable, warm, and genuinely passionate. She brought our younger guests from casual wine drinkers to confident, informed ones in a single session. That is not easy to do. The wines were outstanding. The cheese pairings were spot on. Nothing felt rushed or performative. We came looking for education and a great experience. Artemis delivered both. Cannot recommend this highly enough.

I learned so much about wine and how it’s made. The set was phenomenal for my scientists heart using beakers and flasks to mix your blend of wine. The whole experience was a 10/10 the only thing is I wish I would have been able to order a couple bottles of the wine to give as gifts to friends/family.
