Athens: Ride & Bite

We try to take an e-bike and food tour wherever we travel. This one was superb! It turned out to be a private tour, as we were the only one. Michelle took us into neighborhoods we would probably have not seen, and tried foods we would probably not have tried. We ended the tour with a yogurt stop (frozen or not). Well worth it!

Great experience biking through Athens. Totally different way to see the centre of the city. Tour includes three course meal at different locations. Biking around the acropolis will (getting) dank withe lights is fantastic.

Amazing bike tour of Athens. We were taken, by Niek our tour guide, to multiple restaurants to try authentic Greek food, and all of them were amazing. Niek was so kind, funny, and informative, and I would recommend anyone looking for a tour of Athens to try this out and request Niek as your guide.

We booked a German Tour at 09:30 A.M. in mid of September. It was fantastic. I Love cycling vacation and History. Its a fantastic way to explore the old town of Athen. To check Out which Sightseeing Spot is worth seeing. Especially If you already booked the Athen Pass for later that day. We we were the only participents and so we got a Walk without the bikes through the special Part of Athen Plaka on top. A little greek yoghurt snack was also included. But I would recommend a Trip during the morning outside of Main season. Athen is really hectic City and without the Guide we would be lost between Walkers, Scooters and Cars. An E-Bike is worth it because of the many hilly roads. Not recommend for not fit older peoples or children in my optinion. Our Tour Guide Sandra was half German and spoke perfectly German and was super nice. We couldn't ask for a better Tourguide 10/10.

Our tour was moved to the afternoon so no dinner was included. Random route with no photo stops. Very knowledgeable and friendly guide. 3 hrs on a bike in the city in summer heat is hot and bikes had no place to carry water.

It was great to sightsee Athens from a different angle guided by an expert guide who really “live” Athens. Biking through the inner small streets of the different neighbourhoods along cosy hidden gems we would normally have overlooked. Guide Joost masters the skill of storytelling to make you understand more about the gastronomics of the city. Our 8-year old daughter was involved into the tour in a natural and engaging manner. A relief for the parents. Last but not least; you will taste great food which would usually not land on your plate being a tourist.

Wonderful tour riding around Athens and dining at restaurants. A mix of historical information and current events, while enjoying local cuisine.

Bike tour of Athens with Mr Joost! There are a couple of ways to visit a city. By car (stuck in traffic all the time), by Hop-on Hop-off bus (nice way but very superficial), by foot (actually the best way but you don’t get very far), by subway (:-), or by bike! Your traveling range is increased but it’s still “slow” enough to really be part of every day life of the Athenians. We always book the bike-tours when on a city trip! This time we booked the “culinary” tour. The combination of listening to stories of Athens, (not only ancient Greece even though you practically can’t get around that), the Athenians and their look on life, together with the stories of the passionate restaurant owners that try to continue a family tradition (Maria), or start something new, hip and trendy (To Kouki) made this trip very special and definitely worth while. Guide Joost is a great storyteller. Knowledge and humor go hand in hand during this three hour ride through the narrow streets of Athens. Stories about Greek traditions regarding their food and drink, about the street art and even a bit about politics, even though that can be like touching an open nerve sometimes. Very enjoyable, entertaining and educational! Don’t leave Athens before taking a bike tour!

With an e-bike through the streets of Athens and local snacks at three places. We had a Greek-Dutch guide who told us about the city, the food, and how they grew up bilingual in a fun, enthusiastic way. Sometimes it is difficult to stay together during busy times. Especially because they are not used to bicycles here. We were with a small group of cycle tourists. It took a while to find the office. It's a bit clogged.

Bike tour booked with Dutch guide Sofia. She showed us the most beautiful places and told enthusiastic stories. We were with a group of 6 people and all interested in the history of Athens which Sofia knew a lot about. This tour was doable on a regular bike partly because of the many breaks in which something was told again. An electric bicycle is also available for hire at an additional cost.

Fine guide. Beautiful stories about the (history) of the city. The perfect way to get a quick impression of Athens.

Wonderful way to discover this vibrant city, including delicious culinary interludes. Our children loved it (2 on a child seat on the back of the bike, the oldest himself on a bike). Moreover, we were allowed to experience one of Joost's last rides, a real pleasure!

This is a very fun, tasty and educational activity to get to know Athens. We cycle with 2 couples and Dutch guide Joost through Athens. On our comfortable e-bikes, the steep streets were no problem. Joost showed us everything, told us about the history of the city, but also about street art, for example. We got to taste delicious Greek dishes. It was a successful activity!

Rented a bike during the day here and went on his own in Athens. When we came in the evening for the ride and bite tour we were allowed to change our bikes for an ebike. Joost is a real guide who likes to teach you something about Greece and Athens. The restaurant stops are very nicely chosen. Especially Kooki quite surprising. Recommended!

We got on our bike together with our Dutch guide Joost and made a fun and enjoyable trip through Athens. Joost has taught us the unknown to known Athenian/Greek history. During the trip we made several stops to taste specialties of Greek cuisine. If you want to see Athens from a different perspective and love delicious food, this is highly recommended.

Went through Athens last night with guide Joost. Beautiful stories, superfood, the somewhat super entertaining and we learned a lot. The 8 angular tower is of course extremely special. We just couldn’t figure out who there were before with a decent democracy the Romans or the Greeks 🤣 Always try to arrange the E-bike, that’s fine if you want to relieve the calves. All in all thx for this fantastic experience and highlight experience.
