Itinerary
Stroll along the most breathtaking promenade in Athens, winding alongside the Acropolis. Named after Dionysius the Areopagite, the city's first Christian convert, this historic path takes you straight into the heart of ancient Greece. Hear the very first myth of the evening—one that sets the stage for all the eerie tales to come.
Odeon of Herodes Atticus (stop outside)– This ancient theatre still hosts performances today, but long ago, a tragic king met his gruesome fate here. Will you dare to step into his role?
Apostolou Pavlou: Shadows of Gods and Monsters. Follow the footsteps of St. Paul along this scenic street, where myth and history intertwine. A quick game will lead you to the tragic tale of a beautiful maiden transformed into a terrifying monster.
Ancient Sanctuary of Pan (stop outside): Carved directly into the living rock, this eerie Sanctuary of Pan invites a tale of fear, transformation, and the uneasy relationship between mortals and the divine. Here, a presence emerges from the shadows—one that provokes dread not through evil intent, but through appearance. Were the Olympian gods simply cruel?
Gather around the mighty statue of Theseus, sculpted by George Vitalis, and hear the tale of the monster he defeated—a beast born of divine defiance. This is the finish point for the short version of the experience.
Monastiraki: The Labyrinth of Legends. Wander through the bustling alleys of Monastiraki, where the past and present collide beneath the watchful presence of the gods. With the Temple of Hephaestus as your backdrop, you’ll uncover a tale of betrayal, cunning, and punishment. When mortals—or gods—test the limits of divine power, who truly holds the upper hand… and who will pay the price?
Hadrian’s Library (stop outside): Built by the Roman Emperor Hadrian in 132 AD, this monumental library once safeguarded the greatest knowledge of its time. Outside its gates unfolds the final myth of the night—a story driven by powerful devotion, forbidden acts, and a defiance that forever alters human fate. When love, loyalty, or compassion crosses the line set by the gods, is the price a cruel injustice… or a necessary punishment?
Where Your Journey Ends, But the Myths Live On! Surrounded by a whirlwind of cultures, styles, and eras, Monastiraki Square is the perfect place to conclude your adventure. With the echoes of ancient myths still lingering in your mind, will you see Athens the same way again? This is the finish point of the full tour.

We had a fantastic evening and can highly recommend Michael as a guide. He was truly lovely, really knowledgeable and entertaining. Cannot recommend more enthusiastically - thank you so much.
Entertain walk in the evening with a knowledgable guide, Michael. Fun and entertaining.
Michael was an amazing guide and this was an absolute highlight of our stay in Athens. Such a fun time and definitely worth the price (plus tip). It was a great way to explore the city at night and learn about the history/horror surrounding some classic myths. My only regret is booking the short tour, rather than the long tour, because I would have gladly spent more time enjoying this. Although the short version was still definitely worth it and did not feel rushed at all. We had the best time! You can tell that Michael is passionate about what he does and we would happily have him as a guide again on our next visit. Our group of five were the only members of the tour that night, which is shocking considering how much fun we had. Definitely book this and bring some cash as you’ll want to tip for what this was worth.
We had such an incredible night! Our guide was funny, dark & an excellent storyteller. He knew his horror mythology & knew how to keep us engaged while we walked from destination to destination. We loved the tour so much we didn’t want it to end!
Amazing experience, and I learned so much more about Greek Mythology! I genuinely enjoyed my time!
Many tours can feel interchangeable, but this one was truly unique\. We learned so much that we normally wouldn’t have known, and the guide presented everything in such an engaging and memorable way\. This was the best tour we did in Athens—the guide was passionate, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in making the experience special\. We highly recommend it to anyone visiting Athens\.
Very enjoyable walking tour with an extremely knowledgeable and entertaining guide (Michael) - everyone in our group had a great time.
Michael was a fantastic tour guide and an even better storyteller! He shared some really interesting Greek mythology stories about the city and the myths behind it. The tour was fun, engaging, and never felt like a typical history lesson. Would definitely recommend taking this tour with Michael!
Extremely knowledgeable and made the walk fascinating with mythology tales. Thank you!
Michael was so fun! The stories were interesting and surprising, and the nighttime views of the sites around the city were fantastic. I learned a lot!
Michael was a great storyteller, engaging and delivering the stories from Greek myth on all their gory, petty capriciousness. Highly recommend
Such an entertaining way to learn about popular sites in the city. Michael was an awesome guide who had engaging stories for every stop. If you’re looking for a tour that goes beyond just the same historical factoids, this is a solid choice
Michael was a great storyteller! The meeting spot was easy to find and he was easy to identify. It was only me, as I chose the Percy Jackson tour option. We walked around and Michael made sure to find spots for me to sit while he told stories. He told a lot of stories I had never heard before or had more detail that hadn't been told. I have done several mythology walking tours during this trip, and this one was by far the most detailed and different. It was my favorite!
Michael was our guide and besides being very knowledgeable about Greek mythology he told the tales in a humorous way. We were a group of 11 and wandered through the dark, quiet streets of Athens. We stopped at several spots where he told us about the major and some minor deities. Lots of great tales that all ended in tragedy but as he said - there are no happy endings in Greek mythology. Lots of fun and definitely worth our time.
Great evening. Loved the stories. The night walk went so fast because was so enjoyable and entertaining. Beautiful views of the city. Thankyou to Michael for being a brilliant host and being so knowledgeable and passionate. 100% recommend this trip.
Michael was a wonderful tour guide, he was friendly and informative and adapted well to the tour group.
Michael was our tour guide and he was great!!
Michael was very knowledge and a fun tour guide!!
My mom and I had a great time! Even though my mom didn't understand English, Michael explained things simply and clearly! We also visited cultural sites, it was amazing that in just one hour and half We visited all of these things! I would recommend it to everyone!
I was really excited for this tour, but thought it might not be so great for our children (ages 8, 11 and 12). So I contacted the tour operator, and they recommended a private tour that could leave out some of the more extreme, adult-themed content. It was so great. Michael, our guide, has a master’s degree in Greek mythology AND teaches middle-school children, so he was perfect for this tour. Learned so much, and he very thoroughly answered our questions. My children were very interested and engaged. I think the tour was about 1.5 hours, and this worked well. Would highly recommend this walking tour!
After this , you will have what to speak about for days :)
Great experience, Michael is a passionate storyteller!
Michael did a very good job explaining Greek mythology with a horror twist. It was my daughter's favorite thing to do in Athens.
Incredible storyteller :) provided a lovely tour of Athens while telling us about the locals, ancient mythology, and how they combine to create the Athens we saw before us.

Michael was our guide and he did a great job. He was engaging and knowledgeable. He was able to answer all our questions. We did it right after our flight in and it’s a great way to have an introduction to the agora and Athens itself. I highly recommend this tour.
Michael, our storyteller guide, was an excellent lead. He was quite knowledgeable about mythology and made the stories come to life. I particularly enjoyed the way he brought audience participation into the might. On our walk through the agora and around the outside of the Acropolis, he pause to let us take some amazing night time pictures. Highly recommend.

We had such a wonderful time with Michael! He’s a fantastic guide with so many fascinating stories! We highly recommend his tour! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Such a fun and unique experience! Michael was brilliantly entertaining and incredibly knowledgeable—he brought the darker side of Greek mythology to life in a way that was both gripping and genuinely fun. It never felt like a standard tour; more like being told fascinating (and slightly eerie) stories by someone who really knows their stuff. We also picked up some great local tips for Athens, especially food spots, which was a bonus. A must-do for any mythology lover!
