Athens: Greek Wines Tasting With Sommelier And Acropolis Views

Very great experience for wine tasting with beautiful views. Did not feel rushed, very educational and even had time to socialize within the group.

What an amazing wine tasting experience. We scheduled the experience later in the day so our view of the Acropolis was with the sun setting, it was awesome. The wine selection, led by Manos, the head waiter and sommelier, was excellent and very reflective of some of the countries wines. His knowledge, passion, and ability to explain the different grapes and regions made the experience extraordinary. We stayed and had dinner after the tasting, the food was delicious and we highly recommend the tasting and dinner. Cheers!!

It was a fantastic experience. Mano, is quite knowledgeable and truly knows his wines. The pairings were light, so we decided on sharing one of the dishes from the restaurant with our final two wines. The View was truly amazing to add to the amazing time.

The view was fantastic, the Sommelier Manos was perfect. He taught us about different wines of the regions of Greece, allowed us time to savour the wines and mingle with the other participants at the table. The view was spectacular. Everything we could have hoped for and a great way to end our last night in Athens.

If you have 1-2 days this is a must. Sampled 6 wines generously pours. Lots of knowledge it was like pairing a wine tasting with a history and geography lesson. The sommelier is very knowledgeable and taught us the three step wine tasting process. I would do this again and again! We even stayed for dinner on the roof top garden which provides amazing views of the acropolis.

I’ve been to many wine tastings and never experienced the depth of knowledge that Manos shared with us. He is truly a one of the best! I highly recommend this for anyone visiting Greece whether it’s your first time or you’re a regular!

The sommelier was excellent, he provided background on the wines, the grapes and the regions. We tasted 6 wines and were also served cheese and sesame seeded breadsticks. The tasting pours were ample and represented a good variety of flavors. Overall it provided a great intro into the wide variety of winemaking across Greece.

Manos (I hope spelled correctly) was very generous and knowledgable. The wine tasting was interactive and my wife and I learned a lot about wine, origins, how it’s made, etc. great views too!

Most enjoyable Greek wine tasting experience with the beautiful Parthenon in view from the upper floor. Our host, Manson. was most knowledgeable in explaining how we should look, smell and taste the various wines from different areas of Greece. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience.

Great experience. The Sommelier was amazing. We learned a lot from him, and his selections were excellent. The added element was the view of the Acropolis. We had a beautiful view from our table. We recommend this experience.

While the wines and the young honeymooners with whom we were seated were lovely, this experience was, in our view, overpriced and overrated. The sommelier seemed bored with the entire experience, rattling off by rote the memorized descriptions of the wines as though reading from a script and then walking away. Though the restaurant was practically empty, he seemed far too busy or disinterested to provide an inviting environment or add any passion to what we had hoped would be a truly special experience. We are true oenophiles who enjoy trying and purchasing unique new-to-us wines as we travel, but this evening was an uninspiring disappointment -- Three stars because we enjoyed the wines, but the experience was lacking overall.

There were plenty of wines but the Tapas part was pretty light. There were only two and some of the pictures from other reviewers and such made it seem like there would be more. The view was amazing and we did end up ordering an entree that was very delicious but obviously had to pay for separately.

Manos was a great guide! He was kind, patient, and knowledgeable. We learned a lot about Greek wine and tasted some amazing things. I would highly recommend this experience if you enjoy great wine, conversation, and views.

The operator cancelled on us 6 hours ahead of the class without much explanation. They also told us to cancel through the app ourselves which required 45 minutes on the customer support chat to get a refund.

He took so much time with us, answering every question, guiding us through each pour with insight and charm — we genuinely felt like VIP guests. The views were absolutely breathtaking, overlooking the city with the golden sunset casting the perfect glow. Sipping carefully curated wines in that setting felt like a dream. And the cheese platter? To die for. Every bite paired beautifully with the wines and elevated the experience even more. This was more than a tasting — it was a full sensory journey. We were greeted as if it was unexpected that we were coming to the location. There were 4 people booked for the experience but me and my aunt were the only two to show. So we had essentially a private wine tasting. The manager was very nice and left us time to talk to each other and drink the wines. Was a little awkward with so much attention just on us.

Gorgeous view of the Acropolis, staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The wine was amazing and they did a great job creating a space where everyone was able to connect and have a good time. Even if you are not a wine connoisseur, I highly recommend this fantastic experience.

Hey y'all hey! We traveled to Greece for my sisters 30th birthday. The 8 of us traveled in February 2025 and signed up for a weeknight tasting; so it ended up being a private event! This wine tasting is held in a restaurant; which is brilliant! The view was amazing! We tried about 6 or 7 wines and got to finish off each of the bottles! The hors d'oeuvres served with the tasting were delish! We enjoyed ourselves so much we ended up staying and dining. The waitstaff sang Happy Birthday to my sister. We didn't feel rushed or uncomfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit! Definitely recommend.

Watching the sun set over The Acropolis and the lights illuminate it while tasting and learning about the wines of Greece was magical. We tasted over 6 wines and nibbled on Greek cheese while learning about the current wine culture of Greece.

What a great experience. George our host and wine expert was really good fun. He was informative, friendly and you could ask as many questions as you like. He welcomed us and told us about the format of the evening. Even though he was being called away to his restaurant he gave us the time that we needed and we really enjoyed the experience. we tried around 7 wines of all colours and it was great to hear about the Greek wine industry. I would recommend this experience to the beginner or the more experienced wine drinker/lover. We came back for lunch the following day and bought a bottle of the Sparkling rose (Strange Bird). Great food, great wine and great host.

Very nice experience! Loved the hospitality, the ambient, the atmosphere. The host was very nice, engaging and also very open minded! Definitely a great value for money. The greek tapas were also very delicious as it helped further enhance the whole wine experience of the evening. We tasted 7 wines, and each of them was very different from the rest - but very deligthful and beautiful none the least!

George did a wonderful job engaging with the two of us - although the other participants did not show, his energy and engagement was unmatched! George made it feel like a special, exclusive wine tasting for my sister and me. The food was also delicious and the view of the Acropolis couldn't be beat!

Beautiful setting to try about 8 different Greek wines. George was informative but kept getting pulled away from us, as he also manages the restaurant. We were happy with the different wines along with the bread and cheese plates. We felt it was a good value for the price.

It was a great experience with our host and owner George. He gave us a wonderful explanation of the wines we sampled and was very knowledgeable. We also loved the view of the Acropolis from the restaurant.

An experience we could have easily skipped. The tasting was led by the restaurant manager/ sommelier who was apparently too busy to hang around and do a proper job. It started 20 min late though all parties showed up on time. He poured 7-8 wines in total. 2 trays with light snacks were served (bread and olive oil and cheeses), with the 2nd tray served after the wines it should have been paired with. each time, he would quickly pour the wine, recite a 30 second spill about it and leave for 30 min. we had expected more for 55 euro/ person. Save your money.

Overall, the tasting is worth the money ! Plenty of wines to taste and no skimpy pours . The restaurant manager explained all the wines and didn’t rush us through the evening . If you get there early enough you can snag a table with a great view of the acropolis. Would do it again for sure .

Great fun, beautiful views if you seat right next to the window (the wine tasting is in a room below the roof top, not on the rooftop itself) The Somelier was fun and polite. I for one (passionate about wine) thought that the teaching and description was a bit vague and didn't learn as much as I wanted. I think the overview of the different wines should be more methodical and follow a narrative or progression so it's not just tasting a bunch of different bottles. I also think that at the start, people should be given the chance to introduce themselves to the group so everyone gets relaxed and involved. The Somelier should pass each bottle around for us who want to read the info/detail. All in all grear fun! Recommended

We through this wine tasting on the end of our trip as a way to stay out of the heat and it ended up being one of the best activities we did. We were the only couple, so it ended up being truly private. The manager/sommelier was extremely friendly and the staff were super attentive. The views of the acropolis were awesome, though they were at a sharp angle so if were more crowded, some of tables would not have had the view. The pours were HEAVY and we sampled 8 or 9 wines. We were both feeling it by the end. Definitely don’t drive after this tasting! We will definitely do this one again if we are ever back in Athens.
