Athens: Around Greece In 5 Dishes: Dinner, Theater & Music

What a treat! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner, theater, and dancing experience. A seated 5-course dinner with dishes from different parts of Greece where you're served wine and mingle with other guests. Between courses, your guide performs monologues as men from each part of Greece. A very talented musician plays live music throughout. All guests were invited to get up and learn 2 Greek dances in a circle. So fun!

What a great experience to start our trip in Greece! The food was excellent-big portions so come hungry! This gave us an introduction to authentic foods that we would not have otherwise tasted or ordered during our trip. Loved the storytelling-insights into other regions of the country was helpful. Authentic music by live musicians provides a great backdrop during the dining portion of the show. I definitely recommend this experience -well with the money!

We were only 4 people attending to the show and we could feel the authenticity of the staff, from the stories they told to the care in preparing and serving the food including the live music. It was really a fantastic dinner and a joyful experience.

So much fun, and we learned a lot about Greece. The food was very good, the actor was engaging and the musician was amazing. Such a relaxing, fun, valuable way to spend time in Athens. Very glad we did this!

This is an EXCELLENT introduction to Greek heritage, the diversity of Greek cuisine, local history, and culture! This was my second time to the show. Food was good, lots of wine. Loved the music and the solo theatre, she was informative and engaging. Wish the room was a little warmer in ambience, felt like a warehouse with very dim lighting.

Such a fun and memorable experience! The hosts were so friendly and created a really warm, intimate environment. While the food was just okay, I appreciated learning about traditional Greek dishes and ingredients. The performance was the highlight—super entertaining, and the musicians were incredible. I went solo and ended up connecting with two other solo travelers, which made the evening even better. If you’re looking for something a little different and personal, this is absolutely worth it.

Fun and entertaining! The food was delicious. The only thing is it was too much, wish I could have taken it with me. Everything was tasty and enjoyable. The Entertainer was funny and welcoming. The music students amazing and the chef magnificent! The location is in a non-descript building, but luckily for me someone was outside and asked if I was looking for the dinner and show. Maybe a sign outside 🎭↗️ would help. Because as a solo traveler, I definitely would have not gone inside if someone hadn't been outside.

Delightful experience in an intimate setting. The performance was captivating and insightful. Musicians were soulful and professional. The food was authentic and generous. This was a bit of an unexpected gem of a find and I'd highly recommend this to any traveller who wants to get a proper taste of Greek culture (pun intended)

I have attended two events hosted by Athens Living Museum, and three by their Creative Director Yiannis. They are fantastically accessible ways to involve yourself in Greek culture, food, history, and mythology. I love what Yiannis and his team does. I was particularly impressed with the acting versatility of Michális, the friendliness of Christina, and the helpfulness of Olivia when I had a scheduling conflict. I can't wait to see what they have in store next. I attended both Who Killed Callimachos and Around Greece in Five Dishes. Both were very engaging in different ways, and I don't have a bad word to say about either.

Overall a wonderful experience, the entire staff were lovely, the food was delicious, the actress had a fun explanation of dishes from each area. Would definitely recommend:)

This was a very unique experience, it a little bit of theater mixed with food ans drink. I highly recommend this tour of food and wine.

A fascinating blend of Greek history and regional dishes. The actor was top notch and the food plentiful and delicious. The room echoes, making it difficult to clearly hear the performer at times. Nevertheless, the value exceeds the price. All in all, I highly recommend “Around Greece in Five Dishes” as a truly unique Athens experience and a wonderful evening.

This was a fun evening. Michael put us at ease and we were 'transported' to five places as he took on a different persona to make us feel like we were experiencing various parts of Greece on our culinary journey. The food was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed this interactive experience

This was one of the highlights for our visit to Athens. The heartfelt drama added history to the presentation of a delicious selection of food. I cannot wait to try to duplicate some of the food I tasted at this event. It truly gave us a bit of history along with the tasting of the traditional food from Greece.

This activity is a gem! An incredible blend of culinary art and theatre - you can tell the creators really care about the work and are excited to keep making it better. This is a fun, well structured event. The pacing is excellent, the amount of time is just right, and experiencing different heritage foods of Greece was a great calibration for us as we ate at restaurants throughout our time. I can't recommend enough - and you can trust you are supporting a local group of people making something special.

One of our best nights in Athenes for sure! The experience was perfect in all aspects: the food was both delicious and absolutely unique, as a vegetarian I could not believe how tasty they made sure the vegetarian option was. The performance is immersive and although I can't spoil you anything, just now that you are in very good hands with an actress that overflows with so much talent, it will leave you in awe ! There is love and attention and care in every thing the team cooks/serves/performs and I feel really lucky to bring back such a dear memory back with me !

This was such a cute experience. We got to learn a few things about different regions of Greece and taste some yummy food. I went with my mom and so glad we came out!

An amazing interactive experience, showcasing the unique characters and dishes of various regions of Greece. We learned some traditional Greek dances and enjoyed a 5 course meal interspersed with interesting stories and history - throughly enjoyed the experience!

It was a really fun, entertaining and special evening. The hosts are very passionate about what they're doing and you get to know different regions of Greece through the performance and dish. It is definitely a great activity and dinner to do it together with friends.

This was probably the best decision we've made while in Athens. The hosts were spectacular, the food was soooo tasty, and we learned a lot about Greek culture in a relatively short time. Around Greece in Five Dishes is not your typical food tour—it is local, heartwarming, and gives you the experience of visiting families around Greece, rather than just settling for the most famous dishes. It's not trying to amaze you with extravagance but is instead beautiful in its simplicity. Even my husband, who's normally the exact opposite of a foodie and doesn't really eat most things, wiped his plate clean after every single dish. If there's one experience in Athens worth spending money on, it's this one :)

Best activity in Athens. Me and my wife came to the city for our honeymoon, checked out jewelry museum and Acropolis and all the stuff. But this place was easily the best. The acting blew our mind away. The food is juuuust right. And we really learned something. Many things. We really connected with the staff on an emotional level and And Seriously I'm not even a food fan. But this made me want to become one. Such great dishes. If I could recommend just one activity in Athens to anyone, I would recommend this. Enjoy!!

My girlfriend and I did the "Around Greece in five dishes" 10 days ago and absolutely loved it! It was perfect for the last evening of our vacation in Greece. Great Food, wine, hospitality, acting and very interesting facts about Greece and local dishes made it an unforgettable evening! We highly recommend it!

These guys were awesome! All of the food & drinks were delicious & the performance was great. I really felt like i learned about the different Greek subcultures in a very fun way. You cannot go wrong with this choice!!!

We had a really lovely meal whilst learning about some small slices of Greek life from the various characters! Friendly staff, and a lovely evening. The location was a bit odd - we wondered if we were in the right place before spotting a small sign- but easy to find. A cheesy and entertaining one-man show with tasty food and drinks.

The Around Greece in 5 Dishes experience proved thoroughly enjoyable with gorgeous food, excellent service and entertaining performances delivered. To enhance one aspect of this event, a choice of red or white wine or even rosé may have presented a bit more variety in terms of the drinks, otherwise I had an excellent time! 😀

Traditional Greek food, so that we can get to know many Greek places as well. I absolutely recommend it, a unique experience with unique people.
