The tour of the Acropolis was amazing. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and with good grip. Our tour guide George was very knowledgeable but walked extremely fast and was at times hard to keep up going up hill. Overall a great tour.
It was the worst tour with Viator we ever had. I understand that some external activities cause some complications but Viator should anticipate it and plan ahead. We were informed about cyclist event in Athens days before our tour. Because of that Viator change our meeting time and place. Unfortunately our guide didn’t plan to change the itinerary to help with all road closing. We spent hours being stuck in the car driving circles for 2 hours . The minibus was not comfortable or clean. The seats were stained and uncomfortable. Our guide wanted to see change of guards so badly that we spend almost 2 hours driving in circles to get close to the parlament building without success. She introduced herself as an Athens resident, in my opinion she should have a better way to maneuver this situation. Half of our tour forcefully left the tour looking for restrooms because our the guide was not able to accommodate tour requests for restrooms. Overall it was a horrible experience. I will be requesting refund for this tour. Clearly Viator knew that cyclist event with road closing was happening but they made no attempt to change our itinerary to make our experience smooth. Viator needs to be more flexible and ready to make an new itinerary in case of changes in city’s live events. As a tourists we trust local companies to make our site seeing pleasant and smooth. Viator did not deliver this time.
Tour is excellent. If you aren traveling with someone with mobility issues, it may be a bit challenging. Very informative!
The walk began from Key Tours at 3.45 and walked past the old buildings en route to the Acropolis. Here we were told Myths of the Gods and their experiences in the original. Athens. As we slowly climbed the hill, our enthusiastic and well informed guide took us through all the side buildings. Those still standing, like the theatre - imagine being able to stand where the theatre first began, as one person stepped out from thw chorus of dancers and singers and spoke to the audience. Slowly through the original hospitals, past the springs and the huge Roman built theatre we climbed with stories continuing. Although qe were impatient to arrive, when we when appreciated that we were part of history. The long line of people who came to wonder at the superb buildings and praise the God Athena. When the sun shone on the buildings as it sank in the west, the columns of this geometrically perfect building glowed golden in the light.
I learned a lot and got a better understanding of the long history of this ancient place. It was hot. Bring plenty of water and a hat.
Due to issues with transportation to pickup location unable to make location tour bus left without us we were just blocks away running on foot we took a bus to acropolis and had to spend 140 $ to get in will never use your company again
We had a wonderful tour with the fabulous Teddy and his BFF Harris. Both of these guys were like a walking encyclopedia. They are so knowledgeable. Teddy was funny and was so impressive with remembering everyone's name
Guide FAY was amazing and so knowledgeable with facts and shared information about Athens, food, culture and history. Very well organised tour. Acropolis tour was a highlight too definitely go for the earlier tour if possible as day heats up. That guide was amazing too could not fault any part of the tour!
Great experience! The tour was amazing and our guides were even better! Our acropolis guide was very knowledgeable and knew everything about the history. When it was just us and our driver / guide it was a unique one on one experience that made it so much fun
Jampacked with lots to see! Great value for the money! Was easy to locate the meeting point, friendly people, 10769 W. Avenida Del Rey knowledgeable and entertaining.
I am so glad we decided on the guided tour. Peggy was a wonderful tour guide. She was very knowledgeable about all things in Athens. The driver was great. The sprinker van was clean, comfortable, AND cool. I highly recommend using a guided tour & transportation.
We loved the whole experience . The guides were very well informed and we had a fabulous time in the acropolis and at the temple of Poseidon . We enjoyed a great sunset . We had an amazing time .
Our tour guide Debbie was very personable and engaged with us and other tourists . She was knowledgeable about all the history of Athens .
Very knowledgeable. Learned a-lot. Great guides They watched over the group especially as the crowds grew. Incredible views once in a lifetime experience
This tour was very informative, relaxing and fun. Would recommend this for someone with not a lot of time to spend in Athens as it covers a lot
The tour was well organized, full of information, but not overwhelmingly so. The guide for the Acropolis Walking Tour was excellent and highly informative. Our guide for the highlights of Athens was insightful, friendly and fun. The entire excursion was wonderful.
This tour was so well organized! The meeting place was easy to find, and the tour guides were very efficient in separating people into their appropriate groups. We got to the Acropolis by 9 o’clock in the morning, and the entry line was extremely quick. However, there were many people already climbing up to the top and it was crowded then. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and shared great history and easily explained the sequence of events that happened during that time. She was extremely easy to understand and really seemed to love sharing her knowledge.
Georgina was fantastic!! Super knowledgeable and a pleasure to spend the day with!! We could not have been more pleased!
Enjoyed the experience - Great tour - comfortable walking - good food - superior guide! Informatively provided great and interesting information
Beautiful tour but lots of stairs and walking….totally with it! Our tour guides were awesome! Athens is a beautiful city.
We had George as our tour guide, and he gave us a lot of history and answered our questions. There is a lot of fast walking, so be prepared. Had we been aware the tour was over after the Acropolis, we would have stayed there on our own, as we didn’t get a chance to look at the gift shop.
Our Acropolis guide, Alexia, was fantastic. She was so passionate about the buildings and greek history. You could tell she loved what she does.
A great tour!!! Our guides were so knowledgable and nice. We hit all of the big items in Athens. I kept telling my husband that I was so glad we booked a guided tour because we got so much history and mythology around each of the locations. It is definitely a must do if you’re in Athens. Iliana and George were great!
It's a lot of walking/hiking with stairs and rocks... we essentially climbed a mountain, of course, but our guides were patient, caring, and super informative! They did a great job managing our large (14) group.
We absolutely loved our tour guide- she was a wealth of knowledge and made the experience very memorable! The views were of course breathtaking, and her account of the history was thoroughly enjoyed by both of us.
The tour guide is friendly, she has a great knowledge of the City. They manage the tour well, hitting the spots at the correct time
Great crowd, very professional with a top guide. We had a small group and everyone got on well and sights were something else.
This tour was amazing. Our guide was so knowledgeable, we learned so much and got such a deeper understanding of the Acropolis and Ancient Greece.
Theo/Teddy was great! He kept everyone engaged and had a wonderful sense of humor. When we were unable to watch the changing of the guards in front of the parliament due to an unknown delegate arrival, he quickly rerouted us through the national Park and to the back so we could see the guards change. Wonderful tour!
Great tour! Very organized and well timed even allowing for my husband walking with a cane. Going early & having tickets already was way to go!
Our tour guide Athena and Maria was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, as well as the driver. Nice length of the tour, very comfortable ride between stops too!
We learned so much on this tour. Teddy is extremely knowledgeable & funny. Our guide at the acropolis was amazing. I wouldn’t want to go to the acropolis without a guide. We had several other stops-1st modern day Olympic stadium, changing of the guards of the unknown soldier, presidential house, prime minister office, and a walk through plaka. Worth every penny. Air conditioned sprinter van.
