Our morning tour of the Acropolis and Acropolis Museum went flawlessly, even in the extreme July heat. Our guide, Michael G, was extremely knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and engaging. The best tour guide I have ever had! Would recommend this tour, and Michael G, to any visitor to Athens!

Beautiful experience, thank you to our tour guide Voula. She was so kind, knowledgeable and funny. Although it was a very hot day we made sure to book the earliest tour 9am. Anytime Voula wanted to stop and explain certain things she made sure we stoped where there was enough shade and breeze for everyone. Definitely recommend this tour if you’re into history and Greek mythology . I would recommend if you book the 9am tour to show up 15-30mins early because there is a line outside the office to register and obtain your tour guide hearing devices. The tour guide hearing devices was a plus since there are multiple tours going on and you would want to hear your tour guide whether there are others speaking around you or if you’re in the back of your group.
Building was hard to locate to meet up but then it was okay. The ruin is amazing to see. There is tons to see and our guide was very nice. We had a combo so we saw the ruin, the museum and had lunch. This was a great way to see it on a limited time frame.
Our guide was great, very friendly and knowledgeable. We did the tour, the museum and the lunch. I recommend them all. Wear shoes with grips, the marble and granite is slippery in spots. I also recommend a hat or umbrella for shade, it is hot! Also, bring water and use the restroom before you go because the bathrooms inside are closed for renovations.
Really great preserved pieces of Greek history. Terrific job keeping in good condition and displayed in a great display.
We arrived a little late and they waited for us, so that was a good start. : ) Our guide Alexia was a real professional, she knew just about everything about the place (if you're reading this, thank you again from Hungary). The tour wasn't hard at all because we regualarly rested in the shade. The pace was relaxing and we had time to see every important part of the site and Alexia didn't let us get lost in the crowd. It was an amazing experience and we learned so much about Athens in the ancient times. I can only recommend it!
I was unable to attend because of an injury, but my husband attended and said it was a very interesting tour. He said the tour rep was very knowledgeable and he enjoyed it very much.
Anna (Annie) was amazing! She was extremely knowledgeable and passionate. She masterfully navigated our group through the acropolis on a very very busy day as lines were long trying to leave. The only reason I wouldn’t give 5 stars was the lunch portion which they forgot. The tour agency quickly made ir right, apologized and had someone walk us to the restaurant personally which was awesome but the restaurant didn’t seem to pleased to host me and my wife and we felt we were inconveniencing them. We felt their frustration and we should not have as a patron. If we weren’t tired, hungry, and didn’t pre-pay for it through our tour we would have left.
Our tour guide was wonderful, patient , knowledgeable and navigated throughout with perfect precision. She also took photos for us in the perfect spots. We enjoyed the museum as well, lunch was good in a busy restaurant and it was nice to be led there and have a table waiting. Definitely recommend.
Our guide George was amazing in hand so knowledgeable. Add the lunch / it’s worth it and you are hungry by the tour I’d over. Do yourself a favor and let the experts guide the way.
Our tour of the Acropolis and Acropolis Museum was great and so informative! We learned so much and got to see so many of the artifacts up close. Our guide, Selena, was so knowledgeable and presented the history in a fun, interactive way!
Amazing tour!! Daphne was the best. She is informative and very passionate about Greek history. Highly recommend this tour and Daphne!
The guide was extra good and amusing and easy to follow and the area was of great interest along with a visit to the museum
So much better than touring on your own! Our guide was very sweet and informative. Answered everyone’s questions and kept us all engaged! Lunch (at Arcadia) was also delicious!
This tour was fabulous! Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and planned the tour so we could really understand the history behind the Acropolis and the Parthenon. She gave us so much background information and did a great job explaining all the details. The lunch was mediocre at best - we get better Greek food here in the States. That part was a disappointment; hence, only a 4 star review. Overall, this tour is well worth the money. But I would recommend doing lunch on your own.
We were satisfied with the information provided by the guide. One annoying thing was the guide refused to wear her mic properly, making it very difficult to hear. Lunch provided was substandard.
Had been to the Acropolis twice before and every time you walk away with more knowledge. Guide was very good, and loved her city. Could have had more knowledge of the city and the other ruins, that are everywhere. Museum was a very good experience. Be prepared for the crowds. Lunch was our best meal in Athens.
Our guide, Mariza, made the Acropolis/Parthenon come alive for our group. She remembered each name and engaged ea one of us to explain and teach facts. Our grandson had a history assignment so after the tour she remained in the museum and spent time working with him.
Marrisa was a fabulous guide. The day was hot but she made sure we stayed hydrated. She has so much knowledge about the acropolis and the history, it was amazing to hear and she really made it fun
Mariassa was wonderful! She was very knowledgeable and engaging during the tour - even during the 40mins we were waiting to get into the Acropolis! She answered every question we had and made it a point to keep everyone in the shade a much as possible due to the heat. The lunch afterwards was delicious! Would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see the pantheon!
What an experience I was in awe. The tour was amazing skipping the lines gave me more time to do other things. The lunch was also great. Enjoyed authentic Greek food. I can only say that this was one of my best trip that I ever had.
The guide was fantastic . She was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable . She was very polite and her english was very good We could never have done it without her. Well worth the money. Be prepared things are very crowded and very hot , Bring a hat and water because there is no shade anywhere. We went in June. The lunch however was just ok . Could have done better on our own.
This was an excellent tour! The climb was a bit challenging, but our guide took breaks for us to catch our breath and rest our legs regularly. She was full of amazing mythology and history to keep us interested. Once on top, we were able to have a few moments to roam by ourselves and I loved that! The Acropolis museum was just as amazing and a wonderful respite from the sun. The lunch was also delicious and easy to order. I would absolutely recommend this tour, but I would also suggest you go as early as possible to beat the heat and crowds!
Excellent guide. Nice tour just the right amount of time at each site. Guide was well informed. She spoke English well and was courteous
Our tour guide Maria was BRAVO! Extremely informative with the history and stories around the acropolis and Parthenon. She helped us navigate a very busy visitor day with ease, and even assisted with calling medical attention for another guest who needed help. Maria was very experienced and highlighted very interesting facts and had an incredible sense of humor. Our group left feeling very grateful for our experience and were so happy we booked this tour. Thank you, Maria!
Lisa was a fabulous guide. She was very informative and took her time. She was very friendly and answered all our questions.
If you wish to learn the history of Athen, please is the tour you want to take. Professional knowledge and history are a must. The guide has an excellent history of Athen and has studied history to give you detailed knowledge of Greek history.
Our guide, Katarina, was the best! Very kind and knowledgeable and very personable. She had lots of interesting stories about what we were seeing. She was always counting us to ensure no one was left behind. Cannot say enough wonderful things about her. Also, the audio voxes (or whatever they’re called) worked well - her voice was clear. Highly recommend Katarina
I am so glad to have taken this tour, learned so much more than I would have just walking around. Stelio - our guide was very nice and took his time walking us through the history there. The museum was definitely more enjoyable with the guide. The lunch was delicious!! I recommend wearing comfortable tennis shoes or non-slip sandals if you must wear them. Be ready to walk a lot - definitely do the early tour as the summer heat will be tremendous! I was beat by the end of the tour for sure, my feet needed a break.
When you book a guided tour of the Acropolis (you have to your in Athens) make sure your on the first tour of the day. Gets very very crowded very quickly.
The guide was very nice But in my opinion just buy your own tickets there was no que. . It’s more leisurely and costs less. It’s pretty obvious history to catch up on!!The meal was certainly a disappointment you can get A Greek meal anywhere and we were the only ones and sat alone the guide had left too so what’s the point.
Our guide was very informative. We definitely prefer to go with a guide then alone. Best to go in the morning like we did otherwise it gets too crowded! Bring water & a hat for sure! We also got the lunch included which was great value for money and worked out cheaper but that means you would have to stick to the set menu of the walkers lunch. Beverage not included in the lunch you have to pay extra which is fine. You have to also see the museum which is amazing to see so make sure you get that too. Overall experience was good just tired by the end of it which is expected!
Our wonderful, amazing guide Angela provided a well informative and pleasurable tour. Great stories and facts, with the great details of the beautiful history of not just Acropolis but Greece as well. She was a pleasure and very fun. We enjoyed our tour with her, the bad part only it being over. We couldn't say thank you enough to her for making our first time in Greece such a wonderful experience.
Very helpful and informative guide (Magda). A well-paced tour of Athens' prime tourist destinations suitable for all ages.
This tour was wonderful and shouldn’t be missed. Artemis our guide was great and was so knowledgeable. She made this tour and we wouldn’t hesitate to have her as our tour guide again. This tour was totally worth the price and we enjoyed every minute.
This was amazing! Our guide was so informative and ensured all the questions of our group were answered. The group size is good, no more than 15 people. The guide has a mic and each tour participant has earphones, so every word can be heard clearly. It requires a good deal of walking, which can be challenging, but every step was worth it! I highly recommend this tour!
We were put in an earlier tour than we were scheduled for but it turned out well as Ermis was a fantastic guide with a wealth of knowledge (and we got in prior to the Acropolis opening to the public). He gave us a lot of history and photo opportunities.
Wonderful experience! So glad we booked this during our trip to Athens. Maria was our guide and she was friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. Loved learning about Greek history and Acropolis history during walk and tour of museum. It was crowded at Acropolis. Maria took us to great photo opp areas and about 25 minutes of free time at the top. Be ready for stairs and at least 2.5 miles of walking. Bring sunscreen and water. We walked from our hotel to storefront meeting point and Google maps got us close but a bit turned around. A nice hotel bellman pointed us in the right direction. Museum was great. Food at local traditional Greek restaurant was yummy and restaurant staff fun! We didn’t tour/shop in the Plaka, but did on our own later in the day. Would highly recommend this tour experience!
Our guide was excellent in every way. Very informative with deep knowledge of all things Greek. Good sense of humor and well organized, would do it again.
We had an outstanding guide (Maritsa) and the tour itself was very informative and I think the combination of the site then museum was ideal. The lunch was lovely and our teens enjoyed it despite the 90+ degrees. The AC in the museum was nice. Bring lots of water! There are fountains as well along the path.
This tour was perfect. Great timing and a wonderful guide, Dorian. She was so informative and well versed. This was the perfect combination of culture, history, and rest along the way up to the Acropolis. Plus we opted to have a wonderful lunch following the tour.
We enjoyed touring the Acropolis. Our tour start time was pushed up by about 45 min, which we appreciated in an attempt to get ahead of the heat and cruise ships coming in. We were honestly pretty spent after going up and down the Acropolis. The museum was amazing and our tour guide extremely informative, but the entire length was just too much for us. We were absolutely exhausted, parents and children alike. Lunch was included at a local place afterwards. Service however was extremely slow, the slowest in fact we had in Greece on our entire trip. I would book the Acropolis tour piece again, tour the museum on our own at our own pace and definitely skip the lunch—find your own place.
Be prepared to walk. Our guide was very knowledgeable, he studied archeology and was very passionate about history. My husband and I enjoyed the stories very much. We visited the Acropolis along with the museum and then finished with a Fanta lunch! I thought that the restaurant that they chose was going to be mediocre since it was located right at the base of the Acropolis but it turned our to be the best place we ate un Athens. We highly recommend this tour
We went in late November 2019. We arrived at Acropolis metro station just before 9 am and was met with Alex who has a very soft voice and pleasant demeanor. We paid 15 euro each person for the tickets to Acropolis (10 euro) and the Museum (5 euro) when we met in person. We were a small group of 8 people. Alex is very knowledgeable, and was able to answer all our questions plus more, while explaining the history of Acropolis and its various temples, before taking us down the Acropolis Museum. Lots of walking, which can be somewhat difficult for those with mobility issue for the Acropolis Monument tour, especially if it rains since some parts of the grounds were restored using marble which made it slick after/during a rainfall. Alex then made sure we met up with our food tour guide Dorela, who was also super sweet and walked us through various places in Plaka, Syntagma, and Monastiraki, including the fish/meat market. I believe we stopped at 4 different places to try some savory pastry, greek donuts, greek coffee with greek delight, and souvlaki/gyro. We highly recommend Athens Walks. Both our tour guides were very professional and we have totally enjoyed our walking tour with Alex and Dorela.
The guide was very knowledgeable and well spoken. We met our guide close to our hotel a couple blocks from the Acropolis w/ about 10 couples. View the Acropolis, the museum and a walking food tour. Skip the line was worth the money.
Our tour guide, Maritza, (I can’t recall exactly spelling) was amazing! She took us up to the Acropolis, gave us amazing history and details and never missed a beat to take pics, answer questions and always with a smile! The Acropolis museum was also a huge treat, again, full of detailed information we would have never known. The food portion was also great! We went to a couple amazing places that we would not have known about otherwise and had the BEST gyros. She was smart and funny and really made our very first tour in Greece the best possible. Thank you!!! Jerry & Kim, TX, USA
Absolutely loved this tour! We did the Acropolis afternoon group tour. Kimon was our guide and was amazing. He was engaging and was extremely knowledgeable. Tour was about 1.5 hours, which was the perfect amount of time. After the tour, he will leave you at the Acropolis to enjoy the views, and I recommend waiting for this to take pictures. Make sure to bring comfortable shoes and bottled water.
An enriching experience Our tour guide, Maria, was very considerate of our comfort, taking us slowly through the acropolis on a very hot day, finding places for shade and rest. She shared information about the acropolis and Parthenon which conveyed the importance of this spot in Western culture. She also shared the mythology and drama, which made the tour fun. She also guided us through the museum, which gave us an even deeper appreciation of the site. The refreshments, which were local treats, were very welcome and delicious as well.
Mariza is a fun and very knowledgeable guide.Time and money well spent for our first full day in Greece. It was a good introduction to Greek foods and delicacies in the local traditional establishments that we likely would not have visited . A guided tour is really a must for overall information and history at the Acropolis. We felt like we had the best guide available. Thanks Mariza!
Excellent small group tour of the acropolis and the immediate surrounding area. Many stops along the way to describe the various structures that were there and what they were used for. Guide did an excellent job of painting a picture of life in the era of Socrates and how many of the names and words used then are still used today (Europe, amphitheater for example). Well worth the money to have the guided tour.
