Ellians was an exceptional guide with extensive knowledge of the Greek Cultural Sites and Culture in Athens and countrywide. We enjoyed his company. He was extremely personable and easy to ask questions. He gave us an overview of Athens the first day in the city and some recommendations for the rest of our visit that were perfect! He is highly recommended.

This was a great evening tour! The dinner at the end was excellent too. I would highly recommend taking this tour.
We had a short 2-night layover in Athens, so didn't have time for much site-seeing. This was the perfect tour to get in a few iconic Athens "must see" spots and have authentic Greek food while on a leisure walk through the city. The tour started with watching the Changing of the Guards. We had an amazing Greek dinner (came out as several small plates) at a restaurant (translsted to) Black Cat. Our tour guide, Lef ordered for us and it was the best food we ate while in Athens. Lef took us to many sites, thru a few parks, and a stop for authentic Greek yogurt. It was very cool to see the sites lit up at night and we really enjoyed the evening walk. Lef also gave us a few recommendations of restaurants and bars to visit for the duration of our visit. It was a great tour - highly recommend it.
I was a littlr sketipcal, as I had never booked a solo tour and had no idea what to expect. Maria, our guide, was the highlight of my trip. Not only was she very knowledgeable, her love and passion for Greek history brought this magnificent weather to life … and the food…. THE FOOD!! Myself and the two others on the tour had not received updates via TripAdvisor notifying us of the time change in Athens. Even though it was not the responsibility of the tour guide, we were completely welcomed and taken care of. This will be a special memory that I will cherish forever. Maria is an energetic and knowledgeable guide. She gave us a thorough overview of Athens and the history and culture and she impressed us with her overall knowledge of Greece and the changes it has gone through both in ancient and modern times. It was a wonderful tour
A very pleasant evening featuring a walking tour and dinner with Lef! He was easy to find at our designated meeting place. We got to see the changing of the guards at sunset (an ideal time), then took a stroll through the Athens National Garden and on to Plaka (by way of the Arch of Hadrian). A good introduction to Athens! Lef then took us to an authentic restaurant, where I had probably the best meal of my Greek holiday! An added bonus was Lef's recommendation of a decent rooftop bar, where I could end my night with a fab view of the Acropolis! Would certainly recommend.
It was wonderful!! This tour was so enlightening as we learned so much of the Greek history and current culture on our first evening in Athens. It really prepared us for our entire stay moving through out the city.
Awesome way to see all the mains squares, get a feel for the area when you are only in town for a layover. Delicious meal took the stress out of finding our way around and somewhere to eat, highly enjoyed spending the evening with fellow travellers as well on this small group tour .
Was an awesome way to spend our one quick stopover in Athens, Penny was able to show us around the squares and we were not overwhelmed. The food was amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed our Evening in Athens
We were able to see parts of Athens that we didn’t know about thanks to our friendly and knowledgeable guide, Filippos. The small group experience made it very personal, and it was all capped off by a delicious dinner where we tried a variety of traditional Greek dishes. Thank you!
We had a lovely evening! Fillipos was the best tour guide. Knowledgeable and really excited to share his knowledge. One in our party had a broken foot and in a wheelchair. They accommodated us easily. The food..WOW! The best meal we have had in Greece. Highly recommend.
Maria was extremely knowledgeable, warm and friendly. She made us feel like family. One of the best food tours we have taken.
We had a wonderful tour with Maria from Athens Food on Foot. She was so personably and made us feel so relaxed with her fun and kind personality. After seeing the sights of Athens on our walk we had dinner at a local taverna. She ordered so many dishes for us and we ate together and talked like old friends or family. She really enjoys her job and was a fantastic tour guide and went over and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying the tour. The food was delicious too. It was an amazing night. I highly recommend Athens Food on Foot tours.
Our tour began with watching the Changing of the guards. This was a fabulous way to become immersed in Greek society and culture. From there we visited several key points of interest throughout the city. Then we began our exploration of the various neighborhoods which then concluded with ending up at a local eatery. The food was fabulous, the company was enjoyable. We had a Great dinner !
Great tour guide from Australia..
We had been in Athens for three days and touring the city on our own, including the Acropolis and Acropolis Museum. This walking tour took us to some very interesting and beautiful areas we had not yet seen. It was well-paced and ended at a local family-run Greek taverna for dinner. It was a lovely experience.
Great way to see the city! Ilias was so friendly and informative. The authentic Greek dinner at the end was perfect. Highly recommend!
Wonderful tour. Elias was very knowledgeable, perfect English and very engaging. Took time to listen and answer every question we asked. The food was exceptional, local Produce, authentically prepared & served. Overall a wonderful tour I’d highly recommend.
Lovely tour, great guide, nice pace, well organized, and enjoyable people ! I would absolutely recommend the tour !
Elias was fantastic. He shared so many interesting details, and we really enjoyed all of the dishes we tried!
Lovely evening tour with Elias! He took us to see many of the not to be missed sights in Athens. We capped it off with dinner in the Plaka at a family run restaurant with good authentic food.
We did a private evening walking tour with dinner. Ilias was so much fun from the moment we met him at the fountain which was a short walk from our hotel. We took in some sights including changing of the guard. Then had a fantastic meal at a local family owned tavern. We got some other restaurant suggestions as well. The 3 hours flew by. Our group was myself, husband, and our 13 year old son. Highly recommend!!
Good tour of the area friendly and knowledgeable guide flexible on touring Plaka at night was great.
What a wonderful way to see highlights of Athens with an extremely knowledgeable guide. Maria was the best!! Dinner at the end was so delicious and topped off a great first day in Athens.
This is an amazing tour of the city as you get see places of city besides the big tourist areas as you get to see the true Athens and taste the true greek food.
I'm giving this tour a poor rating because they canceled my tour and expected me to go on an earlier tour with very little notification , which I could not make. Also, they used Whatsapp to contact me to cancel that was not in my profile. Therefore, I showed up for the tour and waited and waited and no one showed up.And finally , someone texted me through viator that the tour was canceled. This was an awful experience. Because you canceled my tour.I have requested a full refund which would be due to me.
Thank you Filippo for a great tour, amazing meal and even better company! Would totally recommend this adventure. Sharon
Our guide, Maria, was superb. She is very knowledgeable about Athens and the history of Greece. Her details added a lot to the experience. The meal was plentiful and delicious. We dined tapas style and Maria ordered a wide variety of dishes for us to share. It is a good amount of walking but worth it!
We lived the tour. Great walking and coverage of rhe city with a fabulous meal at the end. Maria was a fantastic guide. You will learn alot
Great tour. Wonderful guide (Penny). Highly recommended
What a perfect way to explore this wonderful city. Our guide (Penny) was approachable & knowledgeable. Nothing was too much trouble for her. The meal was taken off the beaten track and was excellent as well,
Small group allowed for a more personal experience. Our guide Lef was very knowledgeable and personable. His English was very clear. The food choices were delicious. Overall a very nice evening.
We spent our first evening in Athens guided very capably by Lef. Friendly & knowledgeable, he welcomed us to his city, introducing us to the neighborhoods, historic sites, & the local cuisine. We had a wonderful evening!
Easy to find guide in square - personal service and meal was plenty and good, if you leave tip be clear what is for server and guide that got mixed up, on whole worth It and wear good shoes !!
This is a great way to start a visit to Athens. Our Guide Elias was great - very knowledgeable and funny, too. We walked thought the city, some parks, the Plaka and he pointed out many highlights. We felt more comfortable the next few days because of what he showed us. Ended up at a family-run tavern with delicious, authentic Greek food. Conversation was delightful - felt we were all friends by the end of the tour.
This was a great way to get an overview if Athens. My guide Lef did a fantastic job showing me the highlights and providing background on what we saw. The stop for dinner was lovely.
We happened to be the only two in the tour and boy did we get a deluxe outing with our guide, Kostas. He was firery and energetic as he entertained us with Athens' food and culture. At the end of the night, my husband and I were thoroughly educated and entranced with this beautiful city, the neighborhoods, the restaurants, and the shopowners. We saw, we ate, we laughed, and we promised to come back and visit more of Greece.
We loved the tour and our guide was amazing and very informative. We will do this again when we visit Greece the next time.
What an amazing tour! It ended up being a private tour for the 2 of us. Maria took us on a walking tour for 2 hours which was amazing and we ended with a beautiful meal in a local place. She provided so much information and suggestions for our stay. Thank you for an amazing experience!
Katrina was very knowledgeable and passionate about Athens. We saw things we would not have found on our own and tasted food we would not have thought of having. All very good.
I was the only person to have booked the tour that evening but thankfully it wasn’t cancelled and it was absolutely amazing because I had the wonderful Katerina all to myself. Being a local girl, she knows her city inside out and I was fortunate to experience Athens on my first evening as a local would. The sights, the hidden gems of the city… and the food! Katerina - a huge thank you for being the best guide ever!
It was cancelled. I was the only one, so they cancelled. Please process a full refund. They claimed they tried to contact me the day before but no missed calls or anything.
Stavros was an amazing guide. He took us places we would have never found. The food he had us eat was amazing and the history he told us was also very appreciated. I would recommend this tour to anyone!
We did this tour on our day of arrival to Athens - perfect choice. Our super friendly and knowledgable tour guide combined an exclusive city tour with stops at very special places where we had the most delicious food. For the following days we knew the places for sight seeing as well as for restaurants! Perfect!
Eva made the experience good because she’s genuinely kind, personable, and wants everyone to have a good time. For the price, this tour wasn’t worth it. We walked around sites, took some nice photographs, and went to a place for dinner. Eva ordered a series of Greek dishes that we weren’t prepared for as they weren’t what we were expecting. If you have picky children, or are picky yourself, this would not be good for you. We were expecting things like Greek salad, souvlaki, calamari, pita bread, tzatziki, etc, which weren’t on the menu. Eva was incredibly sweet when she noticed my friend wasn’t eating much and offered for her to order something from the menu- it’s just that nothing I listed previously was even on the menu. I’m glad I tried things I had never heard of or would never order myself, however the rest of my party couldn’t eat most of it- so for the price it was disappointing. A description of what kind of food to expect would be more helpful and information about dietary restrictions would be very helpful. Eva was amazing, however the overall experience was average and over priced. If it wasn’t for Eva, I’d rate this a 2/5. Eva herself I’d give 5/5.
Our guide Eva was very friendly, enthusiastic, and communicative. She showed us some great areas and gave us a lot of information. We felt very comfortable with her and absolutely loved her.
An interesting and informative stroll through the streets of Athens taking in some notable and some more obscure sights on the way. Excellently hosted by Eva - a thoroughly enjoyable way to spend an evening
Eva curated a PERFECT experience for my best friend, our mothers and I! We saw the main sights at night and had a wonderful meal! She was knowledgeable, answered our questions and was a pleasure to spend the evening with! Would HIGHLY recommend her! -the Jersey Girls
Great evening walk of the highlights of Athens, we enjoyed walking and learning in golden hour! And the dinner was amazing! Absolutely recommended!
My family and I read many stellar views about Athens Food on Foot on many Facebook groups & on Trip Advisor so we knew we wanted to do a tour as we were planning our trip to Greece. We opted for the Athens Highlights & Dinner tour because we wanted a tour of the city with a sit down dinner after a long day of travel. Anna met us at a super convenient and easy to find location. She was very friendly from the start and was very knowledgeable. The tour was very extensive, we covered a lot of neighborhoods and it was great to have a guide point out and explain important sites. Everyone in my family loved their meal! There was a ton of variety to choose from and my daughter who is vegetarian had plenty to eat as well. Anna was sure to discuss with us what we liked and wanted to try, and explained what each dish was before we began the meal. We left stuffed and were super happy with Athens Food on Foot and the tour!! If you’re wondering what to add to your time in Athens, I highly recommend a tour with this company.
