The Acropolis is an enduring symbol of ancient Greek civilization and architectural prowess. Dominating the city skyline, this citadel houses several iconic structures. Built in the 5th century BCE, the Acropolis reflects classical Greek ideals with its Doric columns, intricate friezes, and meticulous symmetry. The Propylaea, Erechtheion, and Temple of Athena Nike complete the ensemble, each contributing to the Acropolis's cultural significance. Despite enduring centuries of war, weathering, and reconstruction, the site remains an unparalleled testament to the achievements of ancient Athens. The elevated location offers panoramic views of the city below, creating a captivating blend of historical grandeur and contemporary urban life, making the Acropolis a UNESCO World Heritage site and a destination that continues to inspire awe and admiration.
The Parthenon, a majestic temple atop Athens' Acropolis, was dedicated to Athena, the city's patron goddess. Built between 447-432 BCE, it exemplifies Classical Greek architecture, featuring a rectangular structure with 46 outer Doric columns and a frieze depicting mythological scenes. Made of Pentelic marble, it housed a massive statue of Athena Parthenos. Despite damage over centuries, it remains a symbol of ancient Greek culture and architectural brilliance.

Alexander the Great, born in 356 BCE, was a visionary military tactician and one of history's most influential leaders. He ascended to the Macedonian throne at age 20 after the death of his father, King Philip II. Fueled by a desire for conquest and guided by the teachings of his tutor Aristotle, Alexander embarked on a relentless military campaign, creating one of the largest empires in history. Known for his strategic brilliance, Alexander conquered vast territories across Asia, from Greece to Egypt, Persia, and beyond. His military success was coupled with a cultural assimilation policy, blending Greek and Persian influences, creating the Hellenistic civilization. Despite his untimely death in 323 BCE, possibly due to illness or poisoning, Alexander's legacy endured, leaving an indelible mark on history, inspiring military leaders and shaping the course of civilizations for centuries to come.
Hadrian’s Arch in Athens, built in 131 AD, is a monumental gateway honoring Roman Emperor Hadrian. Its elegant Corinthian columns and symmetry reflect the blend of Greek and Roman architectural styles.
The Panathenaic Stadium, also known as Kallimarmaro, is an iconic ancient stadium nestled in the heart of Athens, Greece. Constructed entirely of white marble, it stands as a historical masterpiece and a symbol of Greek athletic heritage. Originally built in the 4th century BCE, the stadium underwent extensive reconstruction in the 2nd century CE, resulting in its present form. This horseshoe-shaped arena hosted the Panathenaic Games, a significant athletic event in ancient Greece. With a seating capacity of around 50,000, the stadium became the venue for the revival of the modern Olympic Games in 1896. Surrounded by lush greenery and offering panoramic views of Athens, the Panathenaic Stadium continues to capture the spirit of ancient athleticism, serving as both a historical landmark and a living tribute to the enduring legacy of the Olympic movement.

Guarded by the Evzones, elite soldiers in traditional attire, the monument is a focal point for national remembrance. The tomb itself is a marble structure adorned with sculpted reliefs depicting scenes of battle and mourning. An eternal flame burns at its center, symbolizing the perpetual memory of the unknown soldiers. The changing of the guard ceremony, marked by precise and ceremonial movements, occurs regularly and attracts visitors from around the world. Surrounded by neoclassical buildings and the Hellenic Parliament, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier stands as a poignant reminder of sacrifice and valor, embodying the spirit of Greek national identity and resilience.
Dromeas, also known as The Runner, is a modern sculpture in Athens created by artist Costas Varotsos in 1994. Standing 12 meters tall and made of layered glass and iron, it depicts a dynamic figure in motion, symbolizing speed and progress. The transparent glass conveys a sense of fluidity and movement. The Marathon Run, rooted in ancient Greek history, commemorates the legendary run of Pheidippides from the battlefield of Marathon to Athens in 490 BCE to announce the Greek victory over the Persians. This historic event inspired the modern marathon race, first included in the 1896 Olympics in Athens. The Marathon Run remains a symbol of endurance and perseverance, reflecting the spirit of ancient Greece. Both Dromeas and the Marathon Run embody themes of motion and progress, linking modern art with ancient history in the cultural tapestry of Athens.

Getting the tickets for the Acropolis was a pain, and when we finally figured it out, we had the wrong tickets. Senior (over 65) BUT only for EU citizens. Had to purchase new tickets, no refund at site. Also, dropped off at Acropolis Museum and the line was so long, it would have taken so long to get in, it wouldn’t be worth it. Should have been told to purchase those tickets ahead of time. On the positive side, our guide Panos was kind and well informed. It was so nice to be able to be let off right at the stops and picked up so quickly when we were done! After so many years of traveling by public transportation and walking long distances, we felt pampered by the personal service.
The driver Nikoe was very knowledgeable and accommodating. He took us to sites in Athens we never would have known about without him as a guide. He also made a special stop at a favorite store!
Tour guide was very informative, helpful and friendly. Excellent tour around Athens and local view points.
Our guide Petros was so kind and brought us to all the main attractions and gave us so much historical information about everything. He made Athens feel like home for us, and I can't recommend this tour highly enough!
Ask for Panos tour guide. He was above excellent. He was extremely knowledgeable and informative about our entire tour!
Dmitry our driver knowledgeable, friendly and if the was any problem solved it. He helped make this one our best vacation memories.

Absolutely perfect tour. Acropolis, museum Olympic stadium and city tour. Great expedience. Comfortable and efficient.
Dennis was an excellent guide for our 1/2 day tour around Athens to the major sites. He shared info about the city and the history of the sites. Highly recommend!
We had a wonderful experience! We felt safe and informed! Our guide was so kind and very knowledgeable. Enjoyed his wisdom and our tour very much!
Panos was an excellent tour guide for our family of four (including two children under 12). He speaks great English, was very patient, and knowledgeable of all things Athens.
We had a really great time with our tour guide. They are proud history buffs so they know all about the spots they are taking you to! Really great way to see all the bigger sights in less than half of a day.
Our tour with Pano was one of the best tour experiences we’ve had. Pano shared sites of the city we wouldn’t have seen on a bus tour. We learned a lot about Athens today and its’ history. I highly recommend this tour.
Excellent trip, guide was super friendly and informative. Picked up from hotel, so no issues as to where to meet as Athens is a busy city. You only get to see the stadium from the outside on the tour, but definitely worth going back to and going inside it.
The private tour was wonderful and very informative! Panos our guide was very knowledgeable and shared so much of the Greek history with us. A must do in Athens.
Our driver, Stelios, was very knowledgeable and tailored the tour to fit our interests. We were a family group of six, so had the tour van all to ourselves. Little extras like ice water and umbrellas for the sunny afternoon were especially appreciated. We would definitely recommend this tour for anyone who wants to see and gain an understanding of the highlights of Athens in a short period of time.
I messaged Stavros directly via Whatsapp and set up the tour and arranged for it to coincide with our pickup from the airport and just flow right into the tour, with being dropped at our hotel at the end. Stavros was kind, accommodating and helped me get everything set up and secure, including transport back to the airport the next morning for our flight to Crete. As a tour guide, Stavros was incredibly well informed and well spoken, knowledgeable about all the things he showed us, had great suggestions for lunch spots and good places to eat while in Athens. He was able to explain with great detail all the nuances of the Changing of the Guard ceremony and what different parts symbolized, and easily answered any questions we had. He's a great tour guide and also am excellent driver!! The best part (in my opinion) is, I realized I left a souvenir I bought for my son during our tour in his car at the end (we were VERY tired and I totally forgot I even bought it until later that night), and after communicating over a few options via Whatsapp, he agreed to post it directly to my son's home address - I of course said I would reimburse him for the cost. To me this shows a real humanity and true care for his clients, even after they step away from his car. I FULLY recommend this company as a great option for your tour needs while in Athens!!
Having a private driver allowed us to go places a bus could not go and much quicker. Highly recommend
Our guide Yanis was absolutely amazing. Made a hot and busy day relaxing and insightful. Highly recommend this tour. One of the best cultural experiences we have had.

I recommend to anyone to take this tour. I am so happy we booked this tour with Viator. I do plan on using Viator for any future tours.
the sites were great. i feel that the guide could have more present. instead of dropping us off at the sites and leaving us there for a while.
Stavros was an excellent driver. He was very informative and patient with three 70+ ladies. Very sweet and gentlemanly.
Kostas was a great tour guide! He was knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend him as a tour guide.
We had Panos and he was incredible! We were only going to be in Athens for a day and despite the rain, he gave us such a wonderfully full and comprehensive tour. He was incredibly knowledgeable and welcoming.
Stavros was an excellent guide. Very informed. And very helpful. The Acropolis is very busy but Stavros’s advice helped us make the most of the half day experience.
Thank you for booking me last minute (the morning of) after my other tour was cancelled due to rain! Stavros was very friendly and knowledgable. It was great to see the major landmarks and hear all about them. Also my first ride in a Tesla😊 The visit to the Acropolis Museum was also very enjoyable and impressive. Thank you, Stavros! I also really appreciated the restaurant and activity referrals and links near my hotel recommended by Stavros. Great customer service and highly recommend!
After booking the excursion the communication was great. Once they reached out the inquired to see if we needed other services like airport transportation, which we did. Our flight was delayed and they monitored it and were there waiting for us as promised. After our tour they provided transportation to the port as well. Great experience. Highly recommended.
Petros was exceptional! He was passionate about the history Greece. What I loved most was he was proud of his heritage. He was also very knowledgeable about the history as well.
Great experience! Our driver was very knowledgeable and friendly. He took us to all the great spots in Athens. We highly recommend!
Maria was our driver. Car is clean and comfortable. Communication was great, she messaged us the day prior and making sure we have the tickets for acropolis. She was allowing us to be flexible with our tour, staying longer in some places and dropping us off at the flea market since we had extra time. She also gave us extra knowledge on how to navigate the market, taxi/uber, and gave us WiFi so we can make sure our uber app works. Very accommodating, kind, and knowledgeable. Her driving skill is excellent, especially being in Athens. Thank you, highly recommend her.
Stavros was on time, friendly, and informative. He took us to all the sites, showed us where to go and gave the highlights of each location. He also told us a lot about what’s happening now in Greece which we enjoyed. We only have one day and it was perfect way to see what we wanted.
The driver was very knowledgeable. We were able to see everything we wanted to see and not have to worry about a large group.
Our driver Petros was amazing! Picked up in a luxurious van with bucket seating facing each other. We had a lot of luggage and the storage area in the back compartment, held everything with room to spare. Speaks very clearly in English. Had great conversations about the country. Allowed us to modify our timeline for additional fee but was well worth it. Highly recommend him for sightseeing adventure!
Extremely knowledgeable. Friendly and an excellent driver. We were able to see Athens and all the highlights.enjoyed our trip!!
Perfect private 5 hr tour! Our guide Stavros was very knowledgeable about Athens and all the top attractions!! He was also courteous, polite and friendly! Would highly recommend this tour!
Petros was an excellent guide. He was prompt, had a very comfortable van, and offered water often. We saw multiple locations and he shared interesting facts about the city. He ensured we had front door service and kept an eye on our stuff left in the van while we toured.
We had a great tour with Dimitrous. He was easy to communicate with and patient with us as we had not listed our pickup address correctly. We saw all the major landmarks in Athens and learned a lot about its history. We would highly recommend this tour.
Private tour with the best driver in Athens very knowledgeable on the history made the trip so enjoyable for us
Our tour guide and driver Dimitrios was excellent! On time, friendly, and knowledgeable. He took great care in making us feel safe and at home while showing my wife and I the beautiful historical sites in and around Athens. We felt very fortunate to have had Dimitrios as our driver and guide, and would recommend him to anyone. Great job!
I highly recommend taking this private half day tour of Athens! We only had one day to explore Athens which seemed like an impossible task, but I feel confident that we visited the "must see" sites in a relaxed, but efficient manner. Our guide, Panos, picked us up at our hotel in a very nice and comfortable car. He was so knowledgeable and kind. I learned so much from him about the history and mythology of Athens. Panos knew all the "secret" vantage points to view the sites along with "shortcuts" to navigate through the heavy traffic. Athens can seem overwhelming but this tour is an efficient and very satisfying way to see the major sites. Take this tour!
Our tour guide Stavros was great! Very knowledgeable and drove us around showing us all of the best of Athens! Drove us around the city showing all the monuments, dropped us off and picked us up for Acropolis and even gave us dinning suggestions at the end of the tour. Highly recommend him!
Stavros was a great driver, very friendly, and was very knowledgeable. The tour was very well-organized and stayed on track. I highly recommend this for anyone with limited time to get a good overview of Athens and Greek history.
