I would give this experience 10 stars if I could! Minas was a wonderful host and we immediately felt right at home. He's funny, engaging and knows lots about lots of things! Convenient walk from virtually anywhere. Food was fantastic, and the experience is so much more than just making gyros. The snacks at the beginning, the dessert making, having some Greek wine and beer...I could go on and on. Minas and his family love what they do, and I can assure you that you will not be disappointed. Book it!

Please make sure you know who you are booking with and where your experience actually takes place. We are not a corporation or a tour company adding a cooking class to its business. We are a Greek family who built this experience from our own home, our own recipes and our own traditions. Our name, our home, our people and our story are part of the experience. Part of a multigenerational family trip to Athens. Teenagers to grandparent all thoroughly enjoyed the cooking class. Fantastic hosts who put everyone at ease and were fantastic at teaching the recipes. Session filled with interesting facts; cooking techniques and Greek perspective on life! Food was delicious and a great way to spend a couple of hours in Athens.
this was a really fun and informative cooking class, If you like to learn authentic cooking when you travel then this one is it!
Oh my goodness! Our cooking class with Eat With Your Greek Cousin was the highlight of our stay in Athens! We visited the market then made pitas, gyro meat, tzatziki, spicy feta dip and Greek cheesecake. Everything tasted amazing and we can't wait to try to make it all at home. Dionysia is an excellent instructor and she was amazing with our 6 year old grandson, who was so proud of his pitas! If you are in Athens, this experience is definitely a must do!
We loved this Gyros making experience so much! Our hosts were wonderful, a lovely family affair, so personable and knowledgeable. I would recommend this experience to all ages kids, teens, oldies! Thanks so much!
Taking the gyro-making workshop with Eat with Your Greek Cousin was a highlight of our trip! Learning to make traditional pita, seasoned gyro, and fresh tzatziki completely from scratch was hands-on, super fun, and easy to follow. Our host made us feel right at home, and finishing the class by enjoying our homemade feast together over wine was wonderful. Unbeatable Greek hospitality—come hungry!
Such a beautiful and special experience with lovely people. We really enjoyed it and would highly recommend!!!! Our hosts were knowledgeable, kind and awesome! Thank you!!!
We had the most fabulous morning with the team at Eat With My Greek Cousin. It was a real family affair led by the amazing Dionysia who was friendly and engaging and had a real passion for what she does. She took us step by step through making every part of the meal from pitta bread to gyros. Cannot recommend this team highly enough, thank you all for a great experience.
One of the absolute highlights of my time in Athens! If you’re looking for an authentic Greek experience, this is it! There is something so special about experiencing a country through its food and its people, and this cooking class was exactly what I had hoped for. It was welcoming, relaxed, full of laughter, and genuinely fun. I loved learning to prepare traditional Greek dishes, hearing about the food, and sharing the experience with others. And the best part? The food was absolutely delicious! I left not only with a full belly and wonderful memories, but with recipes and techniques I’m genuinely excited to bring home to my own kitchen. The Greek people have completely stolen my heart during this trip, and this experience was another beautiful reminder of why. The warmth, hospitality, and love of sharing good food are something truly special. Don’t hesitate to book this class. Come hungry, leave happy, and take a little piece of Greece home with you!
We always try to book at least one cooking class when we are traveling as it is a wonderful way to immerse a bit in the culture. Some classes are better than others and this was one of the best we have taken! The atmosphere was upbeat, friendly, engaging and fun! The cooking space was clean and inviting with plenty of space for our group. This was truly a fun, hands-on class with everyone getting involved. Once the meat was prepped and cooking, we moved to a lovely outdoor patio, where we first cooked our homemade pita bread and then enjoyed the gyros! There were included drinks ( both alcohol and non -alcoholic) all evening. Don't hesitate to book this class!!
My family had an absolutely amazing time at this cooking class! They were so kind and welcoming and super accommodating to my friend that has a diary allergy (they provided dairy free sour cream and feta cheese and put in the effort to avoid cross contamination with the dairy products). They went out of their way to make sure we had anything we wanted to drink and even asked if we wanted to do pork or chicken for our gyros. We had so much fun and we are super excited to go home and attempt to recreate the delicious meal. The only thing I regret about the experience was that our uber driver showed up earlier than anticipated and we didn’t get a group photo with them at the end - guess I should have done that before booking my uber lol. Would 100% recommend this experience to anyone looking for a cooking experience in Athens!
10/10 experience. The class was set up well and the food turned out great! We will definitely be doing another class the next time we are in Athens!
We were greeting by a charming family who made us feel very comfortable and welcome in their kitchen. We learned alot, making pitas from scratch, and chicken and mushroom gyros. The family was very experienced and enthusiastic in everything we did. We had alot of fun and highly recommend them.
Was a great class! We learned a bunch and the chef was very kind and helpful when teaching us! Truly felt like we were being taught how to cook a meal by a helpful new friend we just made! And the recipes were simple enough that I felt confident I could duplicate it on my own, while still being very tasty! He also taught us about the significance of each of the ingredients or dishes, so I feel like I learned not just cooking skills but a bit of cultural knowledge. Absolutely recommend!
This was such a fun cooking class from a local family. We made gyros, two Greek dips, and a delicious traditional Greek dessert. (+ more). Highly recommend while in Athens, it was wonderful!
Great experience. The person teaching was super friendly and the food we cooked was some of the better food we ate over the entire trip. We look forward to trying to recreate the recipes at home. I would recommend- worth the price
What a great time! Not only was it so much fun but we learned so much about cooking gyros. The host was charming and funny. The other guest were wonderful to spend time with. And most importantly, the meal at the end was delicious! This is an amazing way to do something different on your trip and gain some knowledge on Greek cooking culture.
We enjoyed this experience very much and learned a lot about how to make gyros, pita bread, several sauces and a dessert. Lots of fun! The people that taught the class were very nice and knowledgeable about Greek cooking. Would definitely recommend!
This was the Best Hand On Cooking class we’ve ever done. Chef Minas was knowledgeable, fun, and so helpful with us. We made gyros, pitas, sauces, and no bake cheese cake; all from scratch. It was fun and easy to make. There was so much food and drinks we had extras to take back with us. All of the food and fixings were so delicious. If you have never taken a cooking class before or have done a few; this is one you’ll want to do. Much appreciated Chef Minas!
Absolutely fantastic!! So much fun, great value, and a lovely host couple.
We absolutely loved our Cooking with Greek Cousins experience in Athens! This was such a fun, hands-on cooking class, and Miks was a fantastic instructor—friendly, engaging, and made the entire experience so enjoyable. We chose the 3:30 PM class so it could double as our dinner, which was perfect, especially since we were still pretty jet-lagged and appreciated the earlier timing. We made chicken and pork gyros, homemade pita, traditional Greek spreads, and a delicious Greek dessert. Everything was incredible! There were only two other people in our class, so it felt almost like having a private cooking experience. It was relaxed, interactive, and such a fun way to learn more about Greek food and culture. Our only regret was not having a refrigerator so we could take all of our leftovers with us! We would absolutely recommend Cooking with Greek Cousins to anyone visiting Athens. It’s such a memorable alternative to a traditional dinner out—and you get an amazing meal at the end. One of our favorite experiences in Athens
Our family of five took this cooking class with Dionysia and her husband and we had the best time! They were so fun and personable (and patient!). We felt like we actually learned something about Greek cooking and the food was delicious in the end. Five out of five stars! Highly recommend!
We had such an amazing experience with Eat With Your Greek Cousin! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed like family. The atmosphere was warm, authentic, and so much more personal than a typical cooking class. The food was absolutely delicious, and we learned not only how to prepare traditional Greek dishes but also the stories and traditions behind them. Every detail was thoughtfully planned, and you could really feel the passion for Greek culture and hospitality. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Athens and an experience we’ll never forget. If you’re looking for a genuine local experience, incredible food, and wonderful hosts, this is an absolute must-do. Highly recommended – 5 stars!
This was a fantastic experience! We had another couple as well as a family of 5 in our group, and our hosts made this such a sweet memory. They welcomed us into their lofted facility to cook, and served us refreshing drinks throughout. They did a great job of giving you space to cook yourself, within your comfort/skill level. They were so sweet with the children from another part of our group and made their day brighter too!
If you want more than just a cooking class, book a lesson here with this team. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family, like her own “students” Dionysia genuinely cared about, not just tourists passing through for an afternoon. What stood out most was how thoughtful and detailed she was with every single step. She didn’t just show us how to cook, she explained the why behind each dish, weaving in Greek traditions and the stories behind the recipes. You can tell this isn’t just a job for her. She’s genuinely passionate about sharing her culture and her craft. The food itself was amazing, fresh, flavorful, and made with so much care. Her warmth, patience, and humor made the whole experience feel less like a lesson and more like cooking with a beloved relative. It really did feel like eating with your Greek cousin. I’d recommend this experience to absolutely anyone looking for a fun, authentic, and memorable experience in Greece. Whether you’re a beginner in the kitchen or a seasoned cook, you’ll leave with new skills, a full belly, and a big smile. Can’t wait to come back!
We had a wonderful hands on experience with “the cousins”! Great hands on experience in a fun environment and the food was delicious! It was in a very convenient location.
Such a great experience. Our hosts were so personable and made the experience great in every sense. We were in Athens a short time before heading back home and this was the experience we needed
My husband, our 8-year-old daughter, and I had an amazing time. Gyros may be one of Greece’s most famous foods, but making it yourself and enjoying it fresh is a completely different experience that we would recommend to everyone. This didn’t feel like a typical cooking class at all—it felt more like being welcomed into someone’s home. Even the pita is made from scratch, and that alone makes such a huge difference. It gave us a real appreciation for what authentic gyros is supposed to taste like. The entire atmosphere was relaxed, warm, and personal, with plenty of natural conversation about food, family, and Greek culture throughout the class. Our daughter especially enjoyed being involved in the cooking process and learning about traditional Greek cuisine in such a fun and engaging way. Dionysia and the team are incredibly kind and welcoming, and you can tell they genuinely love sharing their culture and passion for cooking with their guests ❤️ We left with full stomachs, wonderful memories, and new skills that we’ll be excited to use at home. If you’re visiting Athens, don’t miss this experience—it was one of the highlights of our trip!
Best cooking class we’ve taken!!!! They weren’t kidding when they said it’s like cooking with your Greek cousin. We absolutely adored working with Minas. My husband and I have taken a bunch of cooking classes and this one was by far the most hands on from start to finish and we will definitely be able to recreate these at home. It was really nice to spend the evening with an actual local and get a true family owned experience. Also, any food that you don’t eat you can take home. If you don’t take it home, they donate it!! It was an amazing experience and great people.
Our group visited "Eat With Your Greek Cousin" on a recent visit to Athens. We expected a good experience but were happy to receive an outstanding one. All four 'cousins' couldn't have been more welcoming and the visit was extremely well organized. The food we prepared was so delicious and there are not enough words to describe the intoxicating aromas of it all. Now that we are back home in the States, I'm frustrated that I can't seem to find a Greek restaurant with pita bread as good as we had at this event. It's certainly the fresh, unprocessed ingredients we explored during our visit. Thank you to all our newfound Greek cousins who made us feel at home.
We had such an amazing time during the cooking class. We learned how to make gyros and the process was so fun- the hosts made it very easy to learn and made jokes and shared stories the entire time. It was one of my favorite experiences on vacation and would recommend it to anyone that enjoys cooking, eating, or trying something new! The gyros were absolutely delicious and we were with such a fun group and amazing hosts!
The class was fantastic! The instructor and her family run the class. It was well organized, started on time and they worked well as a team. The instructor is an excellent communicator; her instructions were easy to follow and clear. Even for someone who might not have much experience in the kitchen. She has a great sense of humor and had the ability to make everyone feel like they were part of her family and participating in preparing a family meal just like they would in Greece. The whole experience felt very authentic. The food we prepared was excellent. Everything was made from scratch. Everyone was able to make their own pita bread, sauces, dessert and assist with seasoning the meat. The ingredients were fresh, the seasonings were flavorful and better than we get in the US. If you like great food and unique food experiences, you’ll like this class!
My family of four enjoyed the gyros cooking class. The staff were excellent. They were very patient with all our questions, very knowledgeable, and great teachers. Our food turned out incredible, and we felt like it was an authentic experience. We highly recommend this for a family activity!
We loved this! Did it on the day we landed so we’re really jet lagged, but did not feel tired through any of it. We made EVERYTHING we ate. The pork, pitas, dips, dessert…so good! My teenage kids weren’t too keen on the menu to begin with, but they ate it all. The owners keep you engaged through the entire thing. We learned about family customs and history of some of the Greek food as we were cooking. If you don’t eat all you cook (cause you cook A LOT), you can take it with you. Or they donate it to those in need in the community. Would highly recommend to anyone!
Came here with work and can't wait to make some of these delicious recipes at home!
Our chef was super friendly and so informative about the recipes she was sharing.. all foods fresh from her local marketplace. We sat down to enjoy our meal with more of her pre-made condiments to complete the meal.. wonderful experience
I cannot say enough good things about the experience we had in this cooking class. We have taken cooking classes in other cities in other countries and this one I would have to say is the very best from the moment we arrived throughout the class into the time we finished we were treated more like family or very good friends over to someone’s house for lunch except that we all sat in the kitchen and cooked together. I wish I could give it more stars and I highly recommend this family in this business to anyone that wants to really enjoy a cooking class creating good food and making new friends.
What a wonderful evening! This is a family run business and they are so welcoming and informative! They’ve got a great set up that is very easy to get to and comfortable as well. My family truly enjoyed the experience from start to finish and even my teen said he can’t wait to get home and make gyros ourselves! Highly recommend this wonderful experience.
This cooking class with Dionysia was awesome! She made us feel right at home and we had a great time cooking real authentic euros.
Our family participated during a rainy day in Athens. We easily used the Metro to reach the location. Our hosts were tremendously friendly and fun. The meal also filled us all up. We recommend as a terrific choice for a rainy day or a creative alternative to a meal out.
What a fantastic evening!! The dinner was very organized. We seasoned the meat, made spreads, pitas from scratch and learned how to properly assemble and roll gyros. Our hosts were, funny, kind and shared so much knowledge about Greek food, customs, and culture. We are so happy that we made time for this experience. Thank you!!
Tonight we were welcomed to the fabulous cookery experience with Dionysia and Kosta. I don’t want to say “class” as it was like being around the family table, learning traditional Greek dishes and cooking with a fun friend. We have been to cookery classes before, but this was by far the best and different to others. We learnt lots of new skills and everything we ate was made from scratch and the joy of eating the food that was prepared and cooked in our group was deeply satisfying. The pitas, gyros, bread, local cheeses, dips and simple (yet delicious) desert meant we all left completely stuffed!! The drink flowed too and it really felt like you were cooking in a family kitchen. I am coeliac and Dionysia was very thorough in her communication and her dedication to food safety, preparation and separate cooking areas meant I was very safe. She even made me a loaf of the most delicious gluten free bread for our arrival. It’s so nice to feel so included and relaxed in the safety of a talented chef. Overall this was a real highlight of our Athens trip and would throughly recommend to everyone, even those who have an intolerance, allergy or dietary need. I will certainly be making what I learnt back home to impress my family. A perfect activity.
My family of 4, husband and I and two young adult sons loved this experience. Dionysia and Costas were delightful and warm. They taught us how to make the pitas, the gyro meat, the sauces and a dessert. Drinks were included as well. Their studio was clean and organized. The food was delicious but the experience even better. We highly recommend this to anyone. So much fun!
You'll feel like family! We went to the 5:30 PM class in March. It may not have the views or roof-top experience that many other cooking classes offer, but you will laugh, drink, eat, drink, and eat until your heart and every other part of you is content! I'd do it again.
My group, a large group of 32, did a cooking class with pork/chicken gyros, dakos salad, tzatziki, pita, and a Greek cheesecake dessert. The experience was absolutely amazing; everything from the friendly staff (our new Greek cousins) to the food itself made for such a great way to spend an evening. If you’re looking for good food and some knowledge you can take home with you, this is the place. It’s also good to mention that the experience comes with recipes available upon request, so that you can apply what you learned back at home!
Minas and Costas were excellent instructors and they made me feel like family! I have gone to many cooking classes around the world, and this was one of the best. They shared recipes that their grandmothers made for them, and with simple ingredients I was able to recreate wonderful flavors. I cannot wait to make the dishes for my family. Thank you for making my experience in Athens so special and memorable!
This was great fun. Dionysia and her small team kept it interesting and 'hands on'. You eat what you cook (plus olives, wine etc) and there is plenty of it. Dionysia makes sure what you cook is edible! Her commitment to Greek cooking and Greek agricultural produce shone I must add that this was a class on New Year's Eve. The class ran a little overtime, with some members arriving late. We were never hurried along even though we were the last class on New Year's eve.
This was the highlight of our excursion in Athens. Experiencing authentic cuisine in such a fun environment made for an unforgettable time. But the best part was how accommodating they were to our gluten and dairy allergies. We never missed out on any part of the experience and felt like we were taken care of from the minute the class began. If I could do a class with them on every vacation I would. We have since recreated the dishes we learned with great success and continue to enjoy the memories food and the memories. Thank you for everything!
This Gyros Cooking Class was an absolute delight! From seasoning the meat perfectly to grilling and making fresh pita, everything was so tasty and hands-on. The instructors were warm, welcoming, and shared tips that made the cooking so enjoyable. We laughed, tasted as we went, and felt like part of a big Greek kitchen family. The flavors were incredible, and every bite made us smile. If you love meat, flavor, and a fun cooking experience in Athens, this class is perfect!
Dionysia and her husband Constos were a delight! We booked this the night before and the communication was quick, professional and easy. We had so much fun learning new recipes and tips and tricks of the locals. There was a ton of food so come very hungry!
