Loved the Van setup with the mic for everyone to easily hear! Panos provided great information before each stop. We had some last minute changes and he was very accommodating. Viator customer service and support was excellent and helped us with our ticket purchase problems. Athens is so deep in history and culture and we’re have enjoyed every trip to Athens and our excursions with Viator.

Our guide was Michael. He is very informative, knowledgeable and very nice. He is a good guide. But we thought we were getting a tour where he would get out and walk with us to see the different things. That’s not what this is. He drives you to the different locations and then points them out to you and you go see them on your own. Travelers should be aware of that. This is different than what we thought it would be. More of a “informative driver “than a “tour guide “. I recommend this, but you need to understand what you are getting..

This was the absolute best way to pack in a lot of great things into one day. Panos knew everywhere to go, how to help us get into the Acropolis more quickly, where the good bathrooms were and everything. Last stop on our cruise. Booked this excursion with high hopes, and it did not disappoint! Our driver, Panos was prompt with picking us up from our cruise ship and immediately took us to get some breakfast where we had some wonderful Turkish coffee and pastries at a local shop called the Alchemist Cafe. We spent FAR too much money but it was well worth it... the baklava and Lemon Tart were the real standouts here. The van the 5 of us traveled in was VERY comfortable, AC worked well the whole day and Panos was very engaging and thorough during the ride around Athens. From start to finish, we saw quite a few historical sites and even made sure to stop and see the changing of the guard (highly recommend this - definitely a fun experience). Lunch was wonderful as well, we stopped at another spot that Pavos recommended called Gregory's - the sandwiches there were VERY good and they had a nice variety of things to choose from. Honestly, we were very sad when Panos had to drop us off at the airport for our flight to Bucharest, he did such a great job! When we come back to Greece we will be sure to book here again!

Excellent private tour of Athens. We saw a lot of interesting sites in 8 hours thanks to our excellent driver Panos. We also learned a lot about the history of Athens thanks to our knowledgeable and friendly guide Matina. I especially appreciate the care and assistance provided to our family since my mother uses a wheelchair and she uses the restroom/WC frequently. I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for an stress-free tour of Athens.

I give this a 100! The vehicle and driver were perfect! Anestis was very respectful and truly impressive in his role for our day with him. The local knowledge of how to get around very apparent and appreciated. We hired a local guide to ride along, Stefanos, who was beyond anything we could have possibly expected. His extremely knowledgeable explanation of everything we encountered was outstanding! If I ever come to Athens again, I’ll do everything I can to find these two for guidance again!

Our guide Panos was fantastic! Easy to reach and keep in touch with via WhatsApp. He picked us up right at the terminal and had a sign with my name on it. In the vehicle on the way to our stops, he shared his immense knowledge about things we would be seeing including illustrations, pictures and videos that he had prepared in advance on his tablet. He recommended a great authentic Greek family restaurant for lunch away from the tourist traps and booked a table for our party of 6. In the very comfortable vehicle he had bottles of water for us as well umbrellas for us to borrow which was needed. He also adjusted the itinerary according to our wishes and our whole international family group had a wonderful time. Thank you so much Panos!!

PANNOS was an excellent tour guide with a ton of knowledge about Greek history both ancient and current.

We had one full day in Athens and wanted to make the most of our time before embarking on our Mediterranean cruise. The biggest challenge was deciding which sites to visit and figuring out transportation between them. That’s where this private tour truly shines. We didn’t have to worry about navigating the city, planning logistics, or even deciding where to stop for lunch—it was all taken care of. Before I even talk about the tour itself, I want to recognize the outstanding communication from the tour operator. Before booking, they answered all of my questions and explained which attractions required advance reservations and which ones could be purchased on the day of the tour. In the days leading up to our visit, they were always quick to respond, and the day before our tour they reached out to confirm our driver’s name and contact information, which gave us peace of mind. Our driver, Panos, was absolutely fantastic. He picked us up from our hotel first thing in the morning, and from the moment we met him, it was clear we were in great hands. One of my favorite aspects of this tour was how flexible and personalized it was. We weren’t able to get Acropolis tickets until 11:00 a.m. (I highly recommend booking those as soon as you reserve this tour because morning tickets sell out quickly.) Panos had no problem rearranging the itinerary so we could make the most of our day. Our first stop was the Ancient Agora of Athens. Before we entered, Panos gave us a fascinating overview of its history and even showed us visual images depicting what the buildings and temples originally looked like. He also explained the ongoing restoration efforts, which really helped us appreciate what we were seeing. He dropped us off, pointed out an easy meeting location, and simply asked us to message him when we were finished. After exploring the Agora, we drove through the Plaka and Monastiraki neighborhoods. Since we chose to spend extra time at the Agora, we didn’t stop to explore these areas on foot, but it was still nice to see them from the vehicle. Next, we stopped at the Presidential Mansion to watch the changing of the guards. I highly recommend seeing this ceremony. It only lasts a few minutes, but before it began, Panos shared the history of the Evzones, their traditional uniforms, and their role in the Greek military, making the experience even more meaningful. We then made a brief stop at the Panathenaic Stadium, where Panos explained its incredible history and its connection to both the ancient and modern Olympic Games. On our way to the Acropolis, we also passed the Temple of Olympian Zeus. Before dropping us off, Panos once again provided a wonderful historical overview of the Acropolis, explaining both its ancient significance and the restoration work that continues today. If you enjoy history, you’ll absolutely love this tour. His knowledge added so much depth to every stop. We had plenty of time to explore the Acropolis at our own pace before meeting Panos again for lunch. He took us to a wonderful family-owned restaurant outside the busy downtown area that served a great selection of grilled meats, seafood, and traditional Greek dishes. The food was delicious, the portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable. Our final stop was the Acropolis Museum. Panos walked us to the ticket office and made sure we knew where to meet him afterward. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring all three levels of the museum before returning to our meeting point. At the end of the day, Panos drove us back to our hotel, ending what was an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend this full-day private tour of Athens to anyone looking to maximize their time in the city. The itinerary was well organized, the service was exceptional, and Panos’ passion for Greek history made every stop come alive. If you’re lucky enough to have Panos as your driver and guide, you’re in for an incredible day.
