Lots of delicious foods!. Locations close together and uniquely local. Vendors were friendly and accommodating. The group was so.much fun. People from all over the world and all different ages. It was great fun and we highly recommend this tour!
My husband and I love taking food tours when we land in new cities. We’ve probably taken a dozen between the US and Europe. This was in the top three food tours we’re ever experienced. The food was varied and interesting (and plentiful!). Gianni was a fantastic guide taking us to five different stops of his favorite eateries providing background on everything we tasted. We highly recommend this for anyone interested in a wide sampling of Greek specialties.
Wonderful walk through neighborhoods with delicious traditional food and a delightful guide, Sonya did a wonderful job of showcasing the food. I would highly recommend this.
Nasos handsdown made this one of the best experiences. Like please make sure you come hungry because we barely could take a bite at the last stop. This is def bang for your buck. He take you through smaller neighborhoods and you can see the freshness...and the people at the places he took us too were all so nice!
Nasos took us to some amazingly delicious restaurants and provided some history with each stop. We were also able to experience the produce and meat markets. Very appreciative to him for allowing me to stop and buy so much at the market 💙
Our guide Tonia was very kind, lovely and considerate to all the guests. I also had a lovely bunch of people! I really enjoyed Greek authentic dishes of breakfast-lunch-dinner in 4 hours & chatting with other guests. The pacing was great, the plastic bag and water were provided at the beginning, so that we can carry our leftover Koulouri Thessalonikis(to dip into olive oil for later on - very clever!!) while continuing our waking gourmet tour.
Giannis our guide was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and friendly, went out of his way throughout the tour to make it a wonderful experience . Don't eat breakfast. The amount of food we had was more than filling right through from sweet to savoury. Definitely worth the trip! Visited about eight different places including fish and meat markets. We are both foodies. Came away very satisfied after 4 hours of walking the streets of Athens.
Excellent and wear good walking shoes. They supply plenty of water so no need to carry you own. An extensive array of foods and local eateries.
This was an excellent tour. The food was fantastic and there was a lot of it.! Our guide, Ana, was great. She was knowledgeable, engaging and extremely organized. The small group of nice people was the right size for our 6 stops. Delicious and fun! Highly recommended!
The Athens Gourmet Food Small Group Walking Tour was a fantastic introduction to both Athens and Greek cuisine. The food itself was wonderful, with generous tastings that showcased a great variety of local specialties, and Peter was a fantastic guide—knowledgeable, engaging, and fun. We’ve learned to start our trips with a food tour, and this one truly set the stage for a wonderful stay in Athens. It also gave us a real sense of the city centre and we even went back to a couple of the places we especially liked. We honestly can’t say enough about this tour and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Athens.
Had a wonderful food tour with Peggy. Tried lots of wonderful Greek food and learned a lot of interesting things about Greek culture.
The food walking tour was brilliant, and our guide Adele was fantastic, she gave us so much information not just about the food but Greek culture and history as well. We ate very well and we certainly didn’t need anything else to eat that evening! We would whole heartedly recommend this tour.
Fabulous way to understand the greek way of life. Food is part of a social activity and takes place over many traditional dishes. Our excellent and knowledgable guide Peggy selected dishes we wouldn't have known about.
Lots of great food with in depth information at every stop. Dimitra and Giannnis went above and beyond with an in depth list of places for the next stop on our trip as well.
Did this tour with guide Nikoleta, emailed the day before confirming all details , met in a central square in the middle of Athens, breakfast made from scratch in front of us Spanokopita, a cheese filled one and sweet one, next was coffee again in front of us showing how they make it using hot sand, toured the local markets, got loves before sitting down to a delicious meze style lunch , with wine, water and ouzo to drink, outstanding food and lots for everyone, trip to the local honey shop , tasted local honey and tried some of the cream they had in store, next was gyros and soft drinks, finished with desert at a local shop of Greek donut, small fluffy dough with honey light and full of flavour, Nikoleta was an amazing guide, very knowledgeable and left no detail outstanding, there is a warning with this tour do not eat three hours before, heed this advice, the food is plentiful and delicious with lots of options for vegetarians, etc , great tour all included in the price made so much better by our host
Come hungry, there is do much lovely food to taste. A very enjoyable tour. A good variety of stops along the way.
Maria was extremely knowledgeable about fascinating and delicious places to go in Athens especially in PSYRI and MonsteraKI. She showed great enthusiasm and was able to answer questions well. The variety of foods chosen was amazing and delicious. We saw everything from spices to gyro‘s to the Central market honey And everything in between. There was a lot of food and we were able to take some home for the next day we loved seeing neighborhoods we might not have discovered on our own along with hole in the wall places that had delicious food.
Katarina was so knowledgeable and excited about Greek food. The venue choices were wonderfully planned. The tour was relaxed, fun, educational and delicious. I could not have asked for a better experience. Now, time for the diet! So much food.
Donella was a fantastic tour guide. She knew the area so well and provided us with a lot of insider information about the markets and traditional Greek cuisine!
It was an excellent tour with so much food and information! Do not go hungry. We even got our gyro( last stop) as takeaway. Highly recommend We had 8 people in our tour- the perfect number
The food tour was a great way to experience Athens, the markets and the food and drink. We sampled a large variety of Greek dishes. Definitely need to arrive hungry! Our tour guide was outstanding! A delicious way to spend our morning in Athens.
Wonderful day exploring the city's sights and food. We learned about Greek food and some traditions. Tasted and sipped the local food, olives, honey, olive oil and wine. later we stopped for some sweets and ended at a local restaurant where we ordered Gyros to take away for later. Fun day and a warning don't eat much before the tour.
Small group of 11. Making it a more intimate experience. 5 stop. We had souvlaki, spanakopita, delicious custard pie (my favorite), deli meats and cheeses, a sit down meal with so many items to list. Ended with baklava!! Our tour guide was fantastic. So much information. We couldn’t find a ride due to a demonstration, she walked us back to the hotel. Highly recommend.
Maria was thorough, revealing her passion for Greek culture and its food. The tour was more food than I expected with a gyro still in my room cooler. I enjoyed her explanations and lighthearted mannerisms, I believe the rest of group felt similar.
We just completed our food tour with Adele and it was amazing! Adele was fun, energetic and informative! The places she took us were perfect venues for the various food experiences. We couldn’t have been more pleased with the tour.
Dorella (?) was a wonderful guide. She was enthusiastic and interesting, leading us through areas of the city we hadn’t seen before The food and drink were great
Easy meet up location, small group size...alot of food, all delicious..tour guide was great..organized..3.5 hours..would recommend
There was soooo much delicious food. Come hungry! Adele was very knowledgeable, a great hostess and answered all kinds of questions for us.
This was my second time doing this tour! Because of how much I loved it a while ago, I had to repeat it and with the same guide, Anna! 🥰 She’s so friendly and fun, it felt like exploring Athens with a local friend. The food was all delicious and she took us to small spots I would never have found on my own. I learned a lot, laughed a lot, and felt super welcome the whole time. Truly one of the best things I did in Athens. Highly recommended!
Such a fun tour and a great group of people. Ana was fantastic! So much food and everything was so yummy. Make sure you come hungry.
Adele did a great job leading us around the city to various spots with all the delicacies! Along the way we stopped and heard a little history as well. There is PLENTY of food on this tour. Pro tip: eat a super light bfast. We had a great time and a great tour leader. You’ll taste and see some great culinary highlights of Greece!
Great cross section of delicious authentic Greek fare. So much food! We have been on 7 food tours around the world. None have had even half this much food, and it was all delicious. Included many dishes we had never tasted before. Highly recommend this!
Wonderful experience. Very knowledgeable guide and the places we went to sample various local dishes were excellent. The food was outstanding. Learned a lot obout Greek cuisine and its origin. Very satisfied and highly recommended.
Argiro was an amazing tour guide. She was so kind and gave us amazing recommendations for restaurants, places to visit and general athens logistical advice. The pies were awesome and we got to see them being made. My favorite stop was the coffee, which we also got to see being made, and yogurt one. The antipasti restaurant was a meal itself. The honey and EVOO was delicious and the store owners took the time to explain and let us sample each. The gyros and donuts were also amazing. Definitely come hungry. I didnt eat breakfast or dinner before and was very full by the end of the tour. Awesome experience. The others on the tour were super nice as well.
Adele was an awesome tour guide. She was very informative and made the different stops and tastings enjoyable. We had Greek pastries , pies, shareable spreads, olives, meats , cheeses , wines, uozo, olive oils and vinegar and ended with a delicious gyro. Definitely recommend this tour
The best food tour yet! There was an unbelievable amount of good food and also a great variety of both savoury & sweet items.. There was also a lot of information regarding the history of Athens and the markets. Tonya our guide was brilliant! She was charismatic, knowledgeable and a whole lot of fun. Would definitely recommend this tour.
What a fun way to explore different foods from Greece! Nicolette was knowledgeable about the areas and restaurants we visited, and told us stories and memories she had of each place. She made the tour really special for us and we laughed had a great time. There is a lot of walking but worth it! It’s a great tour for all ages!
An amazing experience. Tonia was an incredible guide. Knowledgeable fun and friendly, she made everyone feel included. One member in our group left her purse at a stop and Tonia immediately called the venue and had the purse delivered. Each meal had a story behind it. Wonderful memories and fabulous food
The guide did a wonderful job. She was funny and very knowledgeable. She was very organized and the tour went without any issues.
Adele was our tour guide and she was amazing! Very knowledgeable and good sense of humor! Fun to be with. We had a great time!
So much great food! Enjoyed the Greek coffee experience, very different process from anything we know. The spinach cheese pie and vegetable cheese pie were fresh from the oven and just lovely. Dora was a fantastic guide and very engaging. Definitely too much food so dont eat before the tour. The tour is a great way to tour a few of the Athens neighborhoods and taste a wide variety of traditional greek foods.
Adele our Guide was the perfect guide Engaging well equiped to answer all questions. Funny and full of interesting stories old and new A delight to experience food of Athens with her
This was a very nice tour, plenty of great food, good guide with a lot of knowledge. The group was small (8 people) and it was nice company. We learned a lot, and we ended the tour with takeaway food (because there was so much food served in the tour itself).
This tour was great! Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. There were eight in our group and we had so much delicious food including Greek coffee, mezes, souvlaki, sweets, ouzo, and beer. We sampled olive oil, honey and beeswax products in a local shop where we had an opportunity to buy. In addition, we walked through local markets where we saw the fish, meats, and produce on display for sale. We would happily do this tour again if we return to Athens.
What a great sampling of lots of the food that Athens is known for! Our guide, Tonya, did an excellent job of explaining what went into each of the dishes, as well as giving us insight into Greek customs and life. A very enjoyable four hours!
We had a wonderful time sampling a diverse selection of delicious Greek food and beverages. Nicoleta was our guide. She shared information in a way that was interesting and extremely entertaining. It was a great experience.
This was the best decision for our trip to Athens! Our guide, Nicoletta, was absolutely amazing, funny and shared lots of information with us. We had the opportunity to go through areas we hadn't discovered after a couple of days of solo embarking and got to experience a true Athenian lifestyle. The food was fantastic and we left absolutely stuffed (usually we are big eaters) and regretted even having breakfast. So make sure to bring your appetite.
There was a lot of great food. Antonia was very accommodating of everyone's needs. She is very popular with many shopkeeper along the way. We even had some surprise stops along the way. This was a highlight of our visit to Athens.
This was a really good tour with Demetra as our guide. Only 8 of us which was just right. The amount of tastings and food was plenty and I'm glad we hadn't had anything since breakfast. Our tour was 1.30pm. There is no way we would have gone to any of the traditional greek eateries that she took us to and we would have had no way of knowing what to order and try. I would highly recommend choosing this tour preferably without any allergies as trying everything was the best part.
