If you’re visiting Athens, do yourself a favor and book a tour with Yannis. It was, without question, one of the highlights of our entire trip to Greece. Yannis is incredibly knowledgeable about Greek history, but what truly sets him apart is how he brings it to life. He tells the stories in a way that’s engaging, entertaining, and easy to follow for both adults and older kids. Our entire family was captivated from start to finish. Beyond the Acropolis and the major historical sites, Yannis showed us parts of Athens we never would have discovered on our own. He took us to an amazing coffee spot, brought us to the highest point in Athens for breathtaking panoramic views, and even took our son to a pharmacy when he needed one. It wasn’t just a tour—it felt like exploring the city with a knowledgeable local who genuinely cared that we had the best possible experience. Because of Yannis, we were able to see and do far more than we ever could have managed on our own. His recommendations, flexibility, and personal attention made the entire day seamless, memorable, and incredibly enjoyable. He even helped us get soccer tickets. We cannot recommend Yannis highly enough. He made our day in Athens unforgettable, and if we return, he will be the very first person we contact.

We had a wonderful full day private with Giorgio. He was a genuine local, born and raised in Athens. It was fun learning Athens history and talking with Giorgio about philosophy and many more interesting subjects. He took us to all the main sites, but also to some “more local” places. We ate at a great local cafe and visited the local cultural center. For two seniors, we think this was the right to tour Athens!

Licensed guide, Olesya, and her driver after picking us up early at ports and hotels, had the combined six of us at the Acropolis by 11:00 am to begin our private tour with all the fast-track admission tickets for both the Acropolis and Acropolis Museum. She knew ancient Greek history (which gods and goddesses took center stage in its many temples), and communicated all of it in perfectly spoken English, with her beautiful smile. She also emphasized the architecture - the work, the details, precision, and required skill of building the Parthenon. And just as impressive as her knowledge was, she also recognized everyone’s personalities and stayed attentive to everyone’s needs during the very thorough tour. The Acropolis Museum is a majestic building of contemporary architecture, located some 300 meters south of the foot of the Sacred Rock. Part of the remains dating from Late Roman and early Byzantine times, appear in the opening of the floor in front of the museum entrance, quite a contrast to the museum itself. And very importantly, the museum has scale model replicas of some of the most notable parts of the Parthenon that have been destroyed through time. In conclusion, my wife told me to add to this review, that Olesya is “like Emily in Paris”.

It’s the perfect full day tour of Athens. Our guide George was fantastic. Extremely knowledgeable about Greece, ancient and current. Guided us to some hidden gems and gave us amazing dining options. I would highly recommend.

Our driver Makis was very accommodating despite the big discrepancies between the itinerary provided with the tickets and what he said the company had given him. The overall duration was shorter than the one stated on the ticket and the driver told us that two of the programmed stops could not be done because they were not on his itinerary. One of them the Ancient Athens agora. I think it is overpriced for the time we were given. Specially disappointing is the fact that you feel you were duped. I hope Viator does not keep this company in the future if these discrepancies are not addressed.

Yannis was extremely knowledgeable and was great at telling us about the history and mythology of Athens. He also recommended an amazing place for lunch, which truly was delicious! Definitely a must-do if you plan on exploring Athens.

My husband and I didn't know what to expect in a huge city like Athens. However, we had no need to be concerned. Our pleasant and knowledgeable guide, Gianni took excellent care of us. We were blessed to be taken to areas and monuments that we didn't know were in Athens and they had beautiful architecture, and Gianni shared their history with us. We had Fast Track tickets to the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum, we were there on time and afterwards Giannis was right there waiting for us. His knowledge of the area, his driving experience in the very busy traffic, and his sharing of the history of the city was so interesting and we really felt educated afterwards. Our visit to the Athens Changing of the Guard, outside Parliament was a fantastic experience not to be missed. WHAT A TREAT! Afterwards we were safely delivered to Port in Gianni's very clean car. We highly recommend this tour and this guide, he took good care of us and we felt totally safe.

Today was an incredible day of sightseeing with our guide Stelois. He was professional, friendly and full of knowledge about current and past Greek history.

This tour was Amazing. I honestly believe if we did not take the tour, we would not have fully experienced Athens and wasted valuable time figuring out where to go. Our tour guide, was beyond Amazing. Giorgios took special care of us, very knowledgeable and professional.

This private tour was a great way to get around. We were able to spend as little or as much time as we wanted to at each site. My husband has some mobility issues and he could choose to get out of the vehicle or relax inside as the rest of us got out and explored. Our driver Demetrius was amazing and spoke excellent English, so communication was easy. He referred us to local restraints to eat that were great. We had such a good time with him laughing and enjoying our time together. The tour organizer George was also very accommodating. When we originally book we had five guest. Two of our friends surprised us and joined us on this trip. He was able to make our group 7 with ease and we were still very comfortable in our private Van. Great job and I would absolutely recommend this tour.

Our group of 6 neighbors thoroughly enjoyed this tour! Our driver/guide “Nick” was on time, and showed us around Athens while providing detailed and interesting commentary along the way. He directed us to a local taverna with delicious tradition Al Greek food. The best part of the tour, however, was the time spent at the Parthenon and the Acropolis museum. We hired the optional licensed tour guide (and former archeologist) to guide us through these sites. It was the best 280 euros we ever spent. Eva was so knowledgeable, and an absolutely joy! While the cruise ship tourists were walking around with glazed-over eyes and number stickers on their shirts, we were getting all the personalized and detailed stories from Eva!

Had a great time. Our guide Zafros was great. He had a lot of knowledge about Athens and gave us a great insight of Athens. Cold water was in ample supply which was great in the hot weather. Would highly recommend

We enjoyed our tour. My husband and I would have preferred more time in the museum, but our kids would have rather skipped the museum - so our guide hit it perfectly for us.

We had such a wonderful day in Athens! Our tour guide, Giannis was awesome! We were getting off of a cruise and he picked us up at the port and dropped us off at our hotel that evening. We got to see so many amazing g sites! The acropolis, the acropolis museum, Zeus temple, the stadium, the agora, etc. it was amazing! A perfect way to do a day in Athens! Giannis had so many interesting stories and facts about the sites we saw, we learned so much. He gave us tips about what to check out at each stop. He also stopped at an overlook of Piraeus before heading into Athens. We absolutely loved our day and would 100% recommend this tour to anyone!

We had the pleasure of being on one of the classical Athens tours of the Parthenon followed by a tour of the new Acropolis Museum that’s located conveniently nearby. Both were conducted by a very knowledgeable and friendly tour guide. It was all topped off with a wonderful lunch at one of the tavernas in the vicinity. I would highly recommend Ancient Greece tours and transfers to any would be explorers that would love to see any part of the historically stunning country that Greece proved to be. Their professionalism and service was greatly appreciated.

We had one full day to explore Athens before our cruise, so we chose this tour. Our guide, Dimitris, seriously was the best and set up a great itinerary for our day. He was very punctual, polite and damn funny! I highly recommend Dimitris and Ancient Greece Tours & Transfers.

Our tour guide Dimitris made our visit in Athens most pleasurable. He was informative and funny, very accommodating. Eva, who took us around the Acropolis, was also very nice. She made our Greek history lessons very interesting.

The four of us had a great time with Giannis as our private driver to the Acropolis and Pantheon. We have a handicapped person with us and Giannis was very attentive to her needs and getting us as close as possible to our site entrances. He is very knowledgeable and told us a lot about Athens history. We also visited the Acropolis Museum and the National Archeological Museum. Then Giannis drove us to the highest point in Athens for spectacular views of the entire city. He is an excellent and safe driver and is very professional and excellent at his job. We really appreciated Giannis being our driver guide today that we scheduled him for tomorrow as well.

Our guide Michael was excellent. He was very easy to communicate with, very accommodating to our requests, and was able to help us make last minute modifications to ensure our day in Athens was perfect. He provided us with useful information about every site we visited and was timely throughout the day as he allowed us time to explore the city. Would absolutely recommend this company for any transportation or guide needs in Athens.

Another amazing day with George our tour guide, driver and now family member. He was super patient with us as we changed things up and divided activities, some went to the museum while others went shopping! Even as we continued to change things he just made sure we saw the highlights, changing of the guards, the museum, the Olympic Stadium…we finished the day at the Acropolis with Cissy who was fantastic about taking us around to see everything and explain the history. Overall another great day with George who took amazing care of us!

Tas was the best! He guided us through ancient Athens like a pro. We would have been lost trying to do this ourselves. He was super friendly,very knowledgeable, and treated us like family! We could not have been happier with our private tour! 4 adults and 3 children all day tour with Nicos. The best guide ever! He came to pick us up at our Airb&b on the Athen's Riviera and spent the whole day with us. He took us first to the Acropolis, then to a great lunch place where we asked him to join us and all around the city. Even got us a special Greek cake. He was so personable and friendly.
