Athens Cooking Class In A Garden With Optional Market Tour

From starting the tour through the streets of Athens to the unbelievable local market with Ilias to arriving at a house where Eirini & Alexia taught us how to make authentic Greek dishes we had a blast! Of course enjoying the meal we helped to make was a highlight and the Mastika ice cream a tasty bonus!! Getting to know Ilias, Eirini & Alexia was a spectacular experience. I highly recommend this class- it’s much more memorable than a restaurant and you get to go home and make it again!!!

A superb cooking class. We'll organized and entertaining for all. Facility was clean and well kept. Food was fresh and thoughtfully laid out for us to prepare. Felt like we were cooking in a grandmother's kitchen. Eirini's stories and helpful hints were the best. Well represented sample of classic Greek dishes.

Eirini is a beautiful and amazing cook learnt so much and had an incredible authentic meal at her home which was also my favourite meal so far in Athens !! We had an amazing time with Eirini and Alexia we’re such great hosts, we learnt 5 different recipes and cooked as a co-op in our group, after 5 days in Athens eating out every day, our time at this cooking class was by far our favourite meal!

We had a great time at this cooking class. While it doesn’t focus on cooking techniques as much as other cooking classes, it is an amazing experience. It felt like we were being invited into a truly authentic Greek kitchen where we learned our host, Eirini’s, personal family recipes. We learned to make over five meals, which after the class we feel like we can recreate in our own kitchens! The wine and food were delicious and the company was even better. If you are looking to just have a relaxing, small group cooking experience this is for you!

This experience was amazing. Eirini was a complete game and taught us how to make some authentic Greek dish from produce that came from. a local village. When we sat down to eat our creations they taste wonderful. Thank you Llias for the great walk thru the market and let us stop to enjoy a tasty Greek ice coffee along the way

So much fun, such an experience I would recommend for anyone who wants to slow down, eat a great meal and enjoy eachothers company. It was such a lovely time our host gave us some great tips to try at home and was so attentive for us to feel right at home.

Cooking class: This was through G Adventures. Irania was amazing! She is a wonderful teacher, kind, patient, and personable. She made the experience fun and taste.

Excellent! Irina and her team (Marina and Maria) took us through six different recipes, ranging from mezes to main dishes, with everyone learning by doing. Sharing family cooking secrets, she had us all laughing while learning. (Who knew it was so easy to stuff a graphic leaf?) Irina also shared tips for tailoring each dish to suit, as well as how to make variations if we wanted to explore. Then we all gathered round and ate everything we had just learned how to make.

Relaxed comfortable home setting with welcoming host who led a participatory instructional demonstration of traditional Greek dishes. The meal was exquisite, the company and conversation delightful.

Irini was excellent and explained things as we went and involved everyone in making the meal. She also explained how to do variations.

This was an amazing experience! The location feels like you’re in someone’s home and the hosts are very informative and kind and attentive. I have food allergies and they were extremely accommodating and paid close attention. The food was delicious and I learned a lot. The dinner outside in the garden afterward was beautiful. Definitely recommend!

Fantastic experience. Irene was wonderful! We prepared 6 different items, all tasty Greek recipes. It is hands on and a memorable experience. The setting was very comfortable and we ate our meal outside. Can’t say enough about our Chef Irene. She explained the recipes very well. She had a special dessert for us that capped the meal! If you are looking for a fun thing to do on an Athens evening, and like to eat (who doesn’t) look no further than this cooking class. It will be one of the high points of your time in Athens! In addition to learning five or six delicious Greek recipes, you will enjoy the food you prepare in a beautiful setting! Ireni was out chef/guide. She was amazing. She prepared six dishes for us. They were traditional Greek food using recipes handed down from her grandmothers! The recipes were simple, the food was delicious and the recipes were easy to prepare! One of our party ate gluten free and Ireni made an extra dish for her since she could not eat bread. Our class was held in a modern studio apartment that we came to learn was a rental B and B. It was very modern with attractive lighting and a small modern kitchen. Inside, the dominant feature was a long wooden table where we sat and prepared the food. Outside, in the back, was a large green space, open to the sky, where we ate the food that Irene and we prepared. The interior setting and the exterior setting were spectacular! During food preparation, we got to chop, stir and mix. It was just enough so that we felt that we participated in the food preparation. Did I say that we donned long aprons - not so much to protect our clothes but to make us feel part of the kitchen staff. It was a thoughtful part of the experience that I, for one, enjoyed! We enjoyed delicious Greek red and white wine while preparing the food and during dining. It flowed freely - another indication of what a gracious host Irini was! Another plus was that transportation from and to our hotel was included! Despite the food and the location, the star and most memorable part of the evening was Irini! She greeted us like old friends (she was waiting outside for us when we arrived). She told us about her grandmothers and how she was using their recipes. She told us a bit about her life and her two daughters. She involved us when it was appropriate but would not let us help clean the table because we were guests and that was her role. Oh, and Irini sent us back to our hotel with leftovers!!! When we think of our Athens trip, we will fondly remember our evening with Ireni and smile!

We were lucky enough to spend this cooking class with Irini and Marina, it was a beautiful evening learning how to make some of our favorite Greek dishes and a few things we’ve never had before. It was our favorite meal as a family, everything tasted amazing, so fresh and delicious. 10/10 would recommend!
