Athens By Night: Walking Tour

Although the tour guide was very nice, we didn't feel we got much for this tour. Walked the streets without obvious purpose. Seen a couple of monuments on the way. The food was average at best.

Eleni was the perfect guide. She was very knowledgeable about the culture and answered all my questions and then some. I feel very capable in navigating the city. My tour was truly magical

Uninteresting and flat. I imagined a more conversational and enthusiastic guide. I would have loved a more in depth and fun visit around.

There was not a single question she could not answer, and she was able to give us a complete history of each place that we stopped at. Our guide took photos of us at several of our stopping points and even went full photographer mode and got different angles so we could choose the best ones. She was delightful company and we would love to tour with her again in the future!

Penny was incredibly knowledgeable about literally everything we asked about. She made learning the history of each stop so exciting! She also took some amazing photos of us to remember our outing too! Seeing Athens by night was a really cool perspective not to mention it was more comfortable as the sun was down!

This tour was one of the best things we did during our entire Greece vacation. This tour is great because Athens is beautiful when it’s all lit up in lights, and the temps are cooler at night which is nice for sightseeing. Penny, our guide, was the best. She was incredibly knowledgeable. She was also friendly and fun. We walked around all the different neighborhoods and learned so much about the history and culture, as well as just great places to eat or visit. Highly recommend!!!

It was a lovely evening stroll and we walked through multiple neighborhoods and got photos of the monuments. Penny’s knowledge of the area was superb! I appreciated having an Athens native take me around as she pointed out locations and daily life rhythms of the locals. From the best date night romantic vistas to the brunch cafe she takes her mom to, and favorite walking paths for walking dogs. Thank you to Penny for sharing the beautiful city she calls home. I learned so much and enjoyed the tour very much.

Penny was an amazing guide. We were a small group of four. Penny was very knowledgeable. We took this tour on our first evening in Athens. It was a good way to get acquainted with the city. A night tour was also cooler and it was beautiful to see the sights lit up at night.

Great tour! Penny was a wonderful tour guide. We did the night tour and ended up as the only group so it ended up as a private tour. We met at the Parliament and were able to catch the changing of the guard while she explained the significance of the symbolic movements. We then went through the park and she brought us to multiple historic sites highlighting important information and interesting facts. She then brought us up the hill through the historic neighborhood for spectacular views of the city. She also introduced us to traditional Greek ice cream- which was delicious! She was very knowledgeable and friendly. We had a great time! Highly recommended!

I did a nighttime photo tour of Athens and it was excellent. Our guide was friendly and very informative — he knew the city’s history and the best photo spots, and explained camera settings and composition clearly. He was also attentive to my needs, noticing when I was getting tired and adjusting the pace without rushing the shoot. The result: I came away with a number of great photos, including well-composed shots of lit landmarks and atmospheric street scenes. Highly recommended for anyone wanting both local insight and solid photographic results.

I took the evening tour the day I arrived in Athens for a (too short) visit. The guide Penny was engaging and informative. The informal exploration of key landmarks and neighborhoods was a great way to set my bearings for the rest of my visit. It was fun to trace the route of our walk later in the week from the Acropolis. Highly recommended.

Our first night in Athens was memorable thanks to the tour! Spirros was an outstanding guide. Very knowledgeable, especially on history and military history. Outstanding description of the battle of Platea. Took us through the neighborhoods and recommended restaurants. Evening tour is much cooler and very comfortable.

On Friday, June 6th, 2025 after leaving the beautiful Island of Heraklion we made our way to historical Athens excited to learn and explore! We were paired with our tour guide Spyros and we immediately hit it off as we were chit chatting to our first stop at the City Center. We watched the changing of the guards and Spyros took us through the entire process and explained the meaning, how the soldiers received their post and the honor to be selected. This was just the beginning into the journey that we would explore history in the most amazing way. The best way to describe Spyros is that he is an amazing story teller! If you want to learn about Athen’s past as present you must book Spyros because he has a phenomenal way of capturing your attention through story telling. The most memorable moment was the stop we made as we sat on a ledge in the street with the Acropolis in our view. Spyros took us through centuries of information regarding the multiple battles between the Persians and the Athenians and how history was shaped! He introduced us to the stories of the Greek Gods and the roles they play in Greek Mythology. Spyros also broke down Greek words and names to provide us an understanding how certain movements were formed such as Democracy and Theater. Another thing we enjoyed is that he would ask us questions to help lead us to the history being shared. Beyond the historical stories Spyros walked us through various parts of Athens where we enjoyed the best Gyros/Souvlaki and Loukoumades! When I say we had the best we literally did… enough so that we repeated the same meals next day as we explored Athens on our own! The evening tour was a great way to get accustomed with the city of Athens. Our guide Spyros is knowledgeable about the history of the city in the important places to see. Meeting up with him was very easy and from there he took us on a walk of all the major city center areas stopping to see things like the changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier as well as other important historical sites. The food we had on the walk was excellent and Spyros also gave us great recommendations on his own personal favorite places around city center. This is a great way to introduce yourself to Athens city center.
