Itinerary
Sightseeing in Athens starts driving under the hill of Acropolis. On the historical hill you will have the opportunity to see the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, the Temple of the Athena Nike, the monumental gateway (Propylaea), the Erechtheum and of course the famous Parthenon, the main temple dedicated to the virgin goddess Athena. You will be able to walk around the sacred hill.
The Propylaea is the monumental entrances to the sacred area dedicated to Athena, the patron goddess of the city. Built by the architect Mnesicles with Pentelic marble, their design was avant-garde. To the south-west of the Propylaea, on a rampart protecting the main entrance to the Acropolis, is the Ionian temple of Apteros Nike.
Parthenon, the main temple dedicated to the virgin goddess Athena. The symbol of the Athenian Democracy and the western civilization.
Temple of Poseidon and Athena, the strangest and most sacred place in ancient Athens.
Temple dedicated to the goddess Athena Nike or Wingless Victory.
The Theatre of Dionysus Elefthereus is a major theatre in Athens, considered to be the world's first theatre, built at the foot of the Athenian Acropolis.
The Odeon of Herodes Atticus is a stone Roman theater structure located on the southwest slope of the Acropolis of Athens, Greece. The building was completed in 161 AD and then renovated in 1950
We will visit Panathenaic Stadium where the first modern Olympic Games were held in 1896.
After the Acropolis, we will head towards the Temple of Zeus by way of Hadrian's Arch and we will admire the biggest temple in antiquity devoted to the King of the Gods.
The Arch of Hadrian most commonly known in Greek as Hadrian's Gate is a monumental gateway resembling—in some respects—a Roman triumphal arch. It spanned an ancient road from the center of Athens, Greece, to the complex of structures on the eastern side of the city that included the Temple of Olympian Zeus.
The Hellenic Parliament, in Greek known as Voulí ton Ellínon is the parliament of Greece, located in the Old Royal Palace, overlooking Syntagma Square in Athens. The Parliament is the supreme democratic institution that represents the citizens through an elected body of Members of Parliament.
We will see the changing of the guard (Euzones) in front of the old palace, which is today Parliament House, above the central square of Athens.
The Academy Building constitutes one of three parts in an “architectural trilogy”. It was founded with the Constitutional Decree of March 18th, 1926, as an Academy of Sciences, Humanities and Fine Arts.
The National and Kapodistrian University of Athens is the largest state institution of higher learning in Greece, and among the largest universities in Europe.
The National Library of Greece was built at the end of the 19th century, as the last of the Architectural Trilogy of Athens, a group of three neoclassical buildings which also includes the Academy and the University.
Syntagma Square is the central square of Athens. The square is named after the Constitution that Otto, the first King of Greece, was obliged to grant after a popular and military uprising on 3 September 1843.
Monastiraki is a flea market neighborhood in the old town of Athens, Greece, and is one of the main shopping districts in Athens. The area is home to clothing boutiques, souvenir shops and specialty stores, and is a major tourist attraction in Athens.
After driving 30 minutes from Athens, we arrive to Piraeus city. Bay Zea marina is located in Piraeus and it is one of the finest superyacht marinas in the Mediterranean. A port with great ancient history as it was a Naval base where the fleet of triremes was built. Ruins of the ancient walls of the base can still be found in the marina. The Naval Museum of Greece is also situated in Zea marina.
With view to the Saronic Gulf, island look, moored fishing boats and many restaurants and cafes along it, Mikrolimano feels like a vibrant seascape. It is Mikrolimano, one of the finest places of Piraeus and at the same time one of the most tourist areas in Attica.

We had an amazing experience. Our guide, Nikos, was awesome. He was punctual, knowledgeable and you could tell he is proud of his city. He was very personable and ensured we got to see everything we wanted to.
This tour is perfect for viewing Athens at night time with all the lights. Cristiano was very accommodating
This was a wonderful experience. Our driver picked us up at our Air B and B and dropped us off at our Air B and B. We saw the entire city on this tour from the sea to the Akropolis. Our driver was extremely knowledgeable and taught us so much. This was a wonderful way for my 87 year old mom to see Athens without having to do all of the walking. Our guide was excellent with her as well and made sure she was comfortable and had everything she needed.
We had done a similar night tour on our first night in Rome and it remains a wonderful memory. If you have the leisure time to do multiple tours while in Athens, start your trip with a night tour. To see all the sights lit up at night is very special and completely different than touring them during the day. Our guide, Yiannis arrived on time and took us on a nice tour in an air conditioned van with a snack and water. He provided some commentary along the way as well. We were able to see the changing of the guard at night (minus the heat and the crowds), the stadium and saw some incredible night time views of the Acropolis before touring it the next day. It was a great introduction to Athens and its many sights lit up at night. Highly recommended.
Great tour highlighting Athens! Nikos was a great guide. So informative and such a kind person. Great tour if you’re limited on time and want to see the highlights
We had an athens by night tour with cristino. He was an absolute jem showing us around town with infinite information about ancient athens and all the great spots for pivtures
It’s some time since the tour but I promised my friend Cristiano that I’d give him a review. The best guy ever! Very accommodating and insanely knowledgeable. Thank you Cristiano’s!!!
This was absolutely one of the best ways to see the sites. If you only have one day and a limited amount of time I would recommend taking this tour! Christian our driver was very good and kind!
Your guide was good. Clear and concise but enough to see it all. He was very caring and knowledgeable.
We highly recommend the Athens By Night Tour! Our driver was prompt and picked up our party of four at our cruise ship! It was the perfect evening! We were able to see an amazing sunset and the Acropolis all lit at night. Our guide/driver was very knowledgeable and accommodating to our needs.
Cristiano And Kostas were awesome. Very engaging and knowledgeable. What a great experience to celebrate with our family.
Hands down one of the best tours we have done during our time in Athens. I highly recommend anyone looking to do a highlight tour of the area. Our guides were very knowledgeable and were able to point out some of the best views and photo opportunity locations.
We had a great time seeing the sights all over Athens.
It’s perfect because you get to visit so many landmarks and not have to walk excessively. The AC travel vehicle was perfect for the six of us on the excursion. Our tour expert, Christiano, was most personable and caring. He was very educated about Athens and shared some great stories. And he was a great driver!!
Iam was a great tour guide with plenty knowledge. I can hardly recommend him. He is also a very safe driver
Iam arrived early to pick us up and took is to some iconic places to see the sun set. It was an amazing tour and he knew a lot about Athens answering questions me and my sister asked him. The vehicle was nice and comfy and he provided bottled water. I can highly recommend this tour with this guide
We had a private tour. It was great! The operator was very knowlegeable and he drove safely! We especially enjoyed the drive around Piraeus port from our cruise ship. The night views of the Acropolis were spectacular!
We had a wonderful driver with knowledge about the city and also Greek history. He was personable, and very polite.
Xenofontas was very kind and a great host. He explained all of the sites, locations and the “what’s and whys” of Athens, including the history. He is also an amazing etymologist!
We had our tour with Nikos, that was some of the best time we had in the city. Nikos showed us awesome points of interest in Athens and Piraeus. He asked questions of us and engaged well with us. We were never left uninformed of where we were going or what we could expect to see next. My wife and I had a great time with everything we saw that day. We highly recommend Nikos if you get the opportunity to have him show you around.
Representing the tour included admission to the Acropolis is very misleading. It’s not included and you can’t just walk up and buy the tickets. As a result none of us were able to go. Had they simply stayed the tickets were not included we could’ve gone on line and purchased them.
Waste of money. This was just a glorified expensive taxi service. Driver did speak any English. He did not try to even make an attempt to tell us where we were going and tried to skip a few places. When we complained that this was ending within an hour he took us to a place not on the agenda.
I had a great time, the night tour in Athens was a great experience! My guide was excellent, friendly and very knowledgeable! We stopped at the most famous sights of Athens and then we visited the seaside area of Athens, which is really worth seeing and relaxing with a walk by the sea! I recommend this tour to those who want to see the most romantic side of Athens! Thank you very much Thodoris for the very good communication we had and your professionalism!Hope to see you soon again!
I just finished an amazing Athens by Night tour and I loved it! The city looks so beautiful with all the lights, and the atmosphere was fantastic. Me and my partner are truly amazed by this country. We visited some great spots with amazing views, and I also learned interesting things about the history and culture. The driver was very friendly and smiling a lot which made us feel very welcomed. Totally recommend it if you’re in Athens!
The places, the food the people.. everything 100/10 ! I am very thankful to our driver for being so nice to us. He let us the perfect amount of time and even made a few more stops for us to see more things. Thank you very much for making our trip so unforgettable. Greece by night is truly magical
Our driver was exceptionally good, told us about the history for each of the sites we visited. Highly recommend him to all of our friends that come to Greece.
The tour driver could speak very little English. The tour should skip the Harbor… nothing really to see. We paid over $400 for 4 persons and the guide had very limited English. We could barely communicate. I have reviewed a lot of tours, restaurants and hotels on TripAdvisor and I don’t recall giving any of them less than 3 stars.
Deo was very gracious, warm and professional. He drove very well through the narrow streets and traffic and made several stops along the way. At the Acropolis, they let you out to walk up for about twenty minutes while they must remain with the car.
Our tour guide Theo was amazing and so polite. He was knowledgeable and flexible. I highly recommend this tour.
Enjoyed seeing the city with the monuments lighted. We got to see many of the highlights in one trip Streets are so crowded we were glad we had a driver
Athens at night is beautiful. We did this trip on our first night in Athens and it helped prioritize the sights we wanted to see. Fontas was a great driver and explained the sights well.
Just the ease of our lovely driver/guide It was fun and felt safe and learned so much Big yes and thank you 🫶☀️
My guide (XENOFONTAS) was excellent. He is a native of Athens. He is very knowledgeable and a fun personality as well! City tour by night was much less crowded than the day tours I had taken. The next time I’m in Athens, I will request him as my guide for any tour I’m interested in taking.
Tour organized by vendor was great. Tour guide/driver even picked us up and dropped us off outside the normal boundaries of his service area. Guide was knowledgeable, friendly and easy to converse with. He calm still provided for a safe driving environment. Would recommend the operator of this tour to others.
Seeing the Acropolis and Monstiraki Square we’re a big highlight for me, plus the tour guides are so lovely and genuine. Nice way to get a feel for the city with locals who call it home. Thanks guys 🩵
I booked an evening Athens tour...everything was perfect!!The guide took us to all the sights and at the end to a very nice traditional Athens taverna with a nice view of the Acropolis
My company and I went on a beautiful afternoon stroll to the sights of Athens.. we had a great time! The driver was very friendly and pleasant.
This tour deserves because you can see everything at the night. The atmosphere is more romantic in night and less hot. Athens is more beatiful at night. The driver gave us useful information for sights and food. We saw a lot of sights at own pace. Also Piraeus is a beautiful city very diffrent from Athens. It deserves to see Piraeus, it likes as an island. I suggest the tour and the travel office.
A very beautiful experience the night tour in Athens. We made an appointment for 8 in the evening, the driver was on time, very kind and willing to explain something about Athens and Piraeus! The most beautiful moment was after an hour when the sun was setting and we visited the stadium near the Parliament. Also, Athens is a very lively city at night!Piraeus is equally beautiful with beautiful corners at night!
Nice experience the Athens night tour. The driver was very excited and gave us a lot of extra information about history and sightseeing!!
