Itinerary
Walk on the land in which thousands of years ago some of the largest and most important parts of the global philosophy, politics, and science were born and flourished. Navigate ancient monuments of priceless cultural and historical value and experience in person the greatness and glamour of Greek ancient times. Starting off with the Acropolis, which in Greek translates to the edge of the city, the geographically and spiritually highest point according to ancient Greeks.
The Propylaea was the monumental gateway to the Acropolis of Athens and was one of several public works commissioned by the Athenian leader Pericles in order to rebuild the Acropolis a generation after the conclusion of the Persian Wars.
Parthenon, the main temple dedicated to the virgin goddess Athena, the eternal symbol of the Athenian Democracy and the werstern civilization. An architectural jewel that hosts the best of what the human spirit and genius has ever conceived, an open embrace that awaits its famed sister marbles to welcome them home again
The Erechtheion is an ancient Greek temple on the north side of the Acropolis of Athens in Greece which was dedicated to both Athena and Poseidon.
The Temple of Athena Nike is a temple on the Acropolis of Athens, dedicated to the goddesses Athena and Nike. Built around 420 BC, the temple is the earliest fully Ionic temple on the Acropolis. It has a prominent position on a steep bastion at the southwest corner of the Acropolis to the right of the entrance, the Propylaea. In contrast to the Acropolis proper, a walled sanctuary entered through the Propylaea, the Victory Sanctuary was open, entered from the Propylaea's southwest wing and from a narrow stair on the north. The sheer walls of its bastion were protected on the north, west, and south by the Nike Parapet, named for its frieze of Nikai celebrating victory and sacrificing to their patroness, Athena and Nike.
The Odeon of Herodes Atticus is a stone Roman theater structure located on the southwest slope of the Acropolis of Athens, Greece. The building was completed in 161 AD and then renovated in 1950
The Theatre of Dionysus is an ancient Greek theatre in Athens. It is built on the south slope of the Acropolis hill, originally part of the sanctuary of Dionysus Eleuthereus. The first orchestra terrace was constructed on the site around the mid- to late-sixth century BC, where it hosted the City Dionysia. The theatre reached its fullest extent in the fourth century BC under the epistates of Lycurgus when it would have had a capacity of up to 17,000, and was in continuous use down to the Roman period. The theatre then fell into decay in the Byzantine era and was not identified, excavated, and restored to its current condition until the nineteenth century.
After the Acropolis, we will head towards the Temple of Zeus, the biggest in antiquity, devoted to the King of the Gods,by way of Hadrian's Arch.Between the Acropolis and the Ilisos River are the remains of the Olympian Zeus Temple (now known as the Pillars of Olympian Zeus), one of Athens’ most important and oldest shrines. The space even today gives the visitor a sense of grandeur.
Continuing with the stunning Panathenaic Stadium, the house of the first modern Olympic games, made of Pentelic marble in which the Olympic ideals are still reflected today.
After leaving the beautiful Calimarmaro behind us, we will drive up to Lycabettus hill where you will enjoy the beautiful panoramic view of the city and admire the combination of ancient and modern Athens from above. Then moving into the historical center of the city we will drive up the highest hill of Athens, Lycabettus Hill, where you’ll have the best panoramic view of the city, from the hill of Acropolis to the Aegean Sea
Syntagma Square (Constitution Square) is the central square of Athens. The square is named after the Constitution that Otto, the first King of Greece, was obliged to grant after a popular and military uprising on 3 September 1843. It is located in front of the 19th century Old Royal Palace, housing the Greek Parliament since 1934. Syntagma Square is the most important square of modern Athens from both a historical and social point of view, at the heart of commercial activity and Greek politics. The name Syntagma alone also refers to the neighbourhood surrounding the square.
The Hellenic Parliament is the parliament of Greece, located in the Old Royal Palace, overlooking Syntagma Square in Athens. The Parliament is the supreme democratic institution that represents the citizens through an elected body of Members of Parliament.View of the national guards and the monument of the unknown soldier. Quick stop for a photo
The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is a war memorial located in Syntagma Square in Athens, in front of the Old Royal Palace. It is a cenotaph dedicated to the Greek soldiers killed during war. It was sculpted between 1930 and 1932 by sculptor Fokion Rok. The tomb is guarded by the Evzones of the Presidential Guard.
The Academy of Athens is Greece's national academy and the highest research establishment in the country. The Academy Building constitutes one of three parts in an “architectural trilogy”. It was founded with the Constitutional Decree of March 18th, 1926, as an Academy of Sciences, Humanities and Fine Arts.
The University of Athens has been in continuous operation since its establishment in 1837 and is the oldest higher education institution of the modern Greek state and the first contemporary university in both the Balkan Peninsula and the Eastern Mediterranean. Today it is one of the largest universities by enrollment in Europe, with over 69,000 registered students. The University of Athens was founded on 3 May 1837 by King Otto of Greece and was named in his honour Othonian University. It was the first university in the liberated Greek state and in the surrounding area of Southeast Europe as well.
The National Library of Greece was built at the end of the 19th century, as the last of the Architectural Trilogy of Athens, a group of three neoclassical buildings which also includes the Academy and the University.
The Old Parliament House at Stadiou Street in Athens housed the Greek Parliament between 1875 and 1935. It now houses the country's National Historical Museum.

Thank you very much. Our guide Teo was very friendly
Great guide. Flexible with timing, explanation of where we were and history behind it etc. Great selection of all major highlights of Athens
Cristiano, was lovely. He introduced himself the day before our tour. He was on time to pick us up, was informative and answered our questions about other areas to see and eat.
The sites were amazing and the guide was very good. These are must see items and I highly recommend the tour.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. We are very happy with this tour. We also appreciated them coming to pick us up from our hotel.
This tour is a must if you are in Athens. Cristiano was very knowledgeable and informative. Attending to all our needs.
YIANNIS took us on a wonderful tour of the highlights of Athens. He was knowledgeable, personable and passionate about the city sites. I would recommend having him show you Athens!!
We had a great time with Yiannis for a good length of tour to see all the Athens highlights and picturesque spots. Very convenient pickup and drop off at hotel and at Acropolis/Parthenon with included tickets, plus it was nice to have an expert navigate the traffic to each place while we sat in comfort in van with WiFi.
Jonas was our tour guide and he was amazing. Highly recommend!
Our guide was Nico and he was fantastic. He was extremely knowledgeable and went out of his way to make our tour special. I would highly recommend him.
Once again we had an Athenian tour with Cristiano and he was amazing!!
Chris was excellent highly recommend very knowledgeable about the history of Athens and very accommodating
Yiannis our guide was lovely and very hospitable. He drove smoothly in an air-conditioned car. We were expecting a guided tour for Acropolis and to be able to go into the Olympics stadium so that was a little disappointing but the rest was good.
The tour allowed us to see and visit many of the Athens historical sites. The tour included tickets to the Acropolis and to the Acropolis museum (which I highly recommend). The tour guide was friendly, fun and knowledgeable. This was a great 1/2 day tour.
From start till the very end the trip was excellent. We saw even more than expected. Yannis (John) the driver was simply superb, friendly, and willing to execute any additional wish we had.
Perfect tour of Athens. Our guide, Christiano, was exceptionally knowledgeable, well-organized, and punctual. He had all of our tickets ready for each site, making every stop seamless. Best of all, he took the stress out of navigating from our hotel to the attractions and dealing with Athens traffic, allowing us to simply relax and enjoy the experience. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Athens.
Excellent communication from the onset. I changed our pick up time and drop off location a couple of times and everything was easily accommodated. Same went for what we wanted to see and how long we wanted to stay at a given place. Our guide, Thodoris even had water and some small surprises for us.
Cristiano was the most professional and knowledgeable guide. After kindly welcoming us with chilled water after every stop, he safely navigated all the sights of Athens. He gave us great tips that enriched our experience of the Acropolis. What a lovely way to spend our short time in Athens after our cruise. 10/10 recommend!
Absolutely wonderful! Very informative! The tour was amazing and Cristiano is a wonderful guide!
We loved our driver Tomas! He knew just where to drop us off so that we could easily access the acropolis. He brought water and small snacks. I liked that our tour had acropolis tickets included. That way the driver could time everything. And we could skip the ticket line. He also drove us all over showing us many of the sights of Athens. We would highly recommend!
We enjoyed getting picked up at our hotel and Nick was great at telling us all about Athens. Our family would have liked having a guide inside the monuments to learn more. But overall it was a great day and the guide was very informative.
We had a great tour guide, Xenofontas. We love to learn the history of places we visit and Xenofontas made sure we got that knowledge. He arrived early to guarantee we started on time. This was helpful based on the time of our tour because we were able to avoid the crowds. We explored many places in the city and we enjoyed it in a short time frame as we had to be back at our hotel to learn for our cruise. If you pressed for time but you want to get a great experience, get a lots of photos and learn more about Athen this is the tour for you.
Yannis was amazing!! He took us to much more than the Acropolis and Parthenon and gave us so much history of the city.
Absolutely fantastic experience. Our guide was kind, knowledgeable, and a great communicator who made the history of the Parthenon and Acropolis come alive. He was patient, flexible, and went out of his way to make sure we spent time at the places most important to us. Highly recommend!
Great Experience covering all of Athens major tourist sites. Private driver was amazing with lots of information and Historical context. Only way to see Athens
My tour around Athens with Yiannis was superb and a good bang for the buck. This was the right length of 4 hours and I saw most of the wonderful sites in Athens by car. Good for people with mobility issues and do not have a lot of time in Athens. With one tour with not much walking, I saw most of the important must visit sites in Athens. Also the convenience of being picked up and dropped off in front of your hotel was really time saving and easy on the logistics for the visitor. I would recommend this tour for solo travelers and small groups. Give this a 5 star rating!

We visited the Acropolis with Theodoris and had an amazing experience. He explained everything clearly, shared fascinating stories, and made the whole tour truly enjoyable. His passion, kindness, and knowledge added so much value to our visit. I highly recommend him to anyone wanting a memorable and well-guided Acropolis experience!
We had an amazing time on our tour in Athens! I went with a group of friends, and our driver, Alexandros, made the experience unforgettable. He was super friendly, polite, and incredibly knowledgeable about the history and mythology of Athens — his stories really brought the city to life! We visited the most beautiful spots, learned so much, and had a lot of fun along the way. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to discover Athens in an authentic and enjoyable way!
Amazing day and it was like to have a date with the history. 100% percent recommended. The driver was perfect and the car was totally clean.
Our driver Xenofontas picked us up at the hotel. He is so kind and very knowledgeable of his country’s history. He took us to all the incredible highlights of Athens. I would highly recommend this tour
We loved the private tour experience. We were able to explore on our own time. We were given plenty of time to see everything. Our driver, Nikos, was absolutely wonderful and knowledgeable. He maneuvered the streets and traffic perfectly. What a beautiful day in Athens.
A great tour of Athens! We were able to see so much in a day! Wonderful and knowledgeable host! So interesting and relaxing!
A truly unforgettable day with Erkan our guide. He was so knowledgeable about all thd sites. His organisation of our tour was superb. Istanbul was very busy however he arranged skip the line tickets and the timing was great! We had plenty of time at the Hagia Sophia and Basilica Cisterns which are a must see. Our lunch (not included) at The Pudding restaurant was delicious. The spice market was a wonderful assault on our senses. A fabulous day. Thank you Erkan.
Really informative trip with a fantastic guide. He was so knowledgeable and attentive. Great attention to detail with water and snacks. Was very accommodating and adapted the tour to our group. Highly recommend for small group tours.
Totally awesome driver, timing of stops, photo stops and sightseeing. Missed the crowds and the heat. Better than perfect day!
Aside from having heat exhaustion and needing to be seen by the doctor on site, it was amazing. The temp that day was 106.4’F. I made it to the top around 530 pm, but wasn’t sweating. Luckily, the first aid station, cooled me down and got me feeling better. The history on this tour was amazing. I can’t remember my driver’s name, he’s in his 40’s, Has twin girls, his wife is a nurse and his also does accounting. He was highly trained and skilled to speak of history of the city. It sounded like he had a history degree in ancient Athens. Highly recommend this tour. But I would go to Greece when it is cooler. They were having unseasonably hot temperatures when we were there. Wear no slick shoes going to the top.
It was a very enjoyable break for me as i'm in Athens for work and some friends and i decided to buy this tour! First i will talk about the organization, as all our questions were answered through messages whenever we wanted to ask something! Since it is very hot in Athens this time of year, our driver was waiting us outside our hotel and offered us cold water and a light snack, with a warm smile to welcome us! We really enjoyed the tour, the conversation with the driver was pleasant and we learned a lot about everyday life in the country as well as facts from ancient Greece that I personally didn't know. Also, the people with their smiles and kindness make your day even in the traffic of Athens. Mr Xenophon really knew the area and streets to avoid the traffic,so that we have time to see everything! Regarding the tour i have to say that it is a complete tour if you choose to enter the archeological sites with tickets, but even without tickets you can still see everything and take incredible photos! Thank you very much Greece Athens, we hope for the best for you!
Two was right on time to pickup at hotel. But an issue in that his English was not very good. Our main purpose was to go to the acropolis & Parthenon. But we asked to stop at the acropolis Museum to see if we could get tickets. One traveler was using a walker so could not walk far. Two of us went to see about tickets while the third person waited in the parked vehicle with the driver. We had a security guard at the museum talk to our driver in Greek to tell him the best place to drop the third person. Then the other two of us went there to meet him so we could proceed to go to the museum. We waited, called and texted the driver and he never came. At one point he did not even answer his phone. We were panicked. Finally he drove by without the third person. He had dropped him off at a corner near by without anyone there to be with the person in the walker. We were all panicked as the person with the walker was not where he was dropped off. We finally found the person and since the driver got a ticket for parking they said our tour was fine and they would take us back to the hotel. We said no we would get a cab to the acropolis as they did give us our tickets for that. We never did get to the museum as we ran out of time waiting for our driver to show up where the security guard told him to go. It is a wonder I even gave them 2 stars. I do plan to seek a partial refund which they did not even offer.
Our driver was really nice and very punctual. He showed up exactly when he said he would. The transportation was very nice to get around in with air conditioning and water. However, it would have been great if he could have spoken more English and been able to tell us more about the Athens area we were seeing while driving. There is no way we could have seen all of the things we did by foot or regular taxi in Athens. There was even a really neat food festival going on that he took us to. A very nice day, highly recommended.
Xinofantas was outstanding. Very accommodating on visits, super timely and efficient getting around busy Athens. Highly recommend!
Xenofontos was my very knowledgeable tour guide. He arrived promptly in a well kept, newer mini van, Mercedes, as I recall. I was fortunate to have my own private tour as I was the only person to register for the time slot. He shared the great city of Athens', culture and history, as we drove and stopped at many sites. The highlight of the tour was a self-guided visit to the Acropolis, not to be missed hike to the top, and the Acropolis Museum. I must mention his impeccable driving skills through narrow and unsigned streets along with his ability to find parking spots in a city lacking parking lots or garages for the five million residents.
We booked last time the tour and it was our best tour. Xenofontas the driver was excellent person. From days communicated to us to reassure that anything is ok. He picked up and dropped off us at the hoter. He shoewd us the sights and explained a lot of things about history. He also helped us with pictures. He also booked us the tickets. I suggest the tour.
An unfogettable tour in Athens. We saw all the most important sights in 4 hours. The driver was very kindy and gave us a lot of informartion.
It was a very nice tour with many great impressions. Theodoris showed us many beautiful places.
