Great tour. This is just not the top of the acropolis but really gave us context for the entire site. Time at the museum was good too. We spent an additional 45 minutes at the museum after the tour as we had access to the museum after the tour as well. Great tour.

Itinerary
Meet your small group at the Acropolis metro station 10 minutes before the tour start time. Get acquainted with your licensed Greek guide, who will outline the day’s itinerary before you begin your walk through the Acropolis.
Escape the crowds and explore the Acropolis on a carefully paced small-group walking tour led by an expert local guide. As you walk through this legendary site, you’ll be immersed in the history, mythology, and ideas that shaped ancient Greece and continue to influence the world today. With pre-reserved tickets, you’ll skip the long queues and begin your visit smoothly. Rising above Athens, the Acropolis is the city’s most iconic monument—a symbol of artistic brilliance, civic pride, and architectural achievement. Your guided walk includes the Erechtheion, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Propylaea, and the legendary Parthenon, each revealing a different layer of ancient Athenian life and belief.
Step into the heart of ancient Athens with a guided visit to the Parthenon, the crowning monument of the Acropolis. Dedicated to Athena, the city’s patron goddess, this extraordinary temple embodies the ideals, ambition, and artistic brilliance of Athens at its golden age. As you explore the site, your expert guide reveals how the Parthenon was designed, built, and used, and why it came to symbolize democracy, power, and cultural achievement. Through stories, architectural details, and historical context, the monument comes alive as far more than a ruin—it becomes a window into the world that shaped Western civilization.
Pass through the Propylaea, the monumental gateway that once marked the ceremonial entrance to the Acropolis. Designed to impress and prepare visitors for the sacred spaces beyond, this grand structure set the tone for religious festivals and processions in ancient Athens. As you explore its marble columns and architectural details, your expert guide explains the Propylaea’s role in Athenian ritual life and how its design reflected the city’s power, order, and artistic ambition.
Get an excellent understanding of this magnificent part of the Acropolis from your expert local guide. Visualize the Acropolis of the fifth century BC, still one of the most accurate reflections of the splendor, power, and wealth of that era. Enjoy Athens as it was at its highest peak, during the golden age of Perikles.
Here you can enjoy the views over the city and all the way to the Aegean Sea. Follow your guide on a different route towards the south exit so that you also see the Altar of Asclepius and the Theater of Dionysus, the birthplace of theater and drama.
Discover the temples on the north side of the Acropolis that most visitors miss out on. Take a break after you walk through the temples that primarily housed the earlier Athenian cults and those of the Olympian gods.
Continue to the Acropolis Museum for the second part of your experience. Designed to complement the visit to the Acropolis itself, the museum offers a deeper understanding of the monuments you’ve just explored. Walk across its striking glass floors and look down onto the archaeological excavations beneath the building as your guide introduces highlights of ancient Greek art and daily life. Inside, see original sculptures and architectural elements from the Acropolis temples and learn how they once fitted into their historical and cultural context. In the Parthenon Gallery, your guide will explain the story of the famous Elgin Marbles and their significance. The guided visit concludes in the Archaic Gallery, home to remarkable statues that predate the Acropolis monuments. Afterward, you’re welcome to remain in the museum at your own pace or step outside to enjoy views over the modern city.

Our guide was the best!! She was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the Acropolis and it’s unique history. She provided a truly great experience!!
This is a great tour - we had a fantastic guide! She was so knowledgeable and explained everything so well! This is a five star tour!
Overall the tour of the Acropolis and the Parthenon is nice and a great history lesson. We also had the tour with the acropolis museum and it is worth seeing too!
Fosso was an amazing tour guide. She was very knowledeable and very informative. She knew the best route and to position the group for the best view and pic opportunity. She was very consciencious to keep the group together and us plenty of free time. I was extra impress of her knowledge in guiding us through the museum as well.
While there were some warnings about the activity level, based on friends and internet we expected to use an elevator to go to the top. We were not permitted to use the elevator - we were told that a doctor’s certificate of disability was required. This absolutely should be in the tour description. As a result we spent the whole time at Acropolis waiting for the group at the bottom. Very disappointing and a waste of our money. The meeting point for the tour is not clearly described. We were waiting at what we thought was the correct spot for 20 minutes and luckily I went walking further up the road and found the group. Perhaps it should state that the meeting point is across the road from #7. We were waiting at one of the 2 metro exits at the Acropolis sign - which is what the tour information said. The guide was very informative and knowledgeable. But she tended to walk at a fast pace, often leaving members of the group behind needing to constantly play catch up. She should be more aware of the pace of the group and try to cater to all. The museum tour was excellent and the highlight of the day. I would rate this portion as at least a 4 out of 5, while the rest was a 1 out of 5.
The tour guide was well seasoned knowledgeable and experienced excellent rating two thumbs up five stars
Eva was great. Very knowledgeable and experienced. The walk to the Acropolis was not as hard as imagined Because Eva broke up the walk and explained the history along the way. It’s a great tour helping us to learn more about Greek mythology and it’s history.
This was a very comprehensive tour of the Acropolis, Parthenon and adjacent museum. Our guide, Eva, was very knowledgeable and did a great job of stopping for good stretches of time to share interesting details, which allowed our very mixed age group to catch their breath along the way. Our entire group, several with health issues, made it all the way to the top, walking every step needed to reach the top. The photo opportunities were incredible and we were blessed with nice weather. Our tour included the nearby museum, which contained many interesting artifacts on its three floors and our nice guide, EVA, shared great details about all the major attractions within the museum. My wife and I were REALLY ready to head back to our hotel after this three hour Adventure. PS- I have this experience a 4 out of 5, because the wireless ear piece devices used were a little distorted and scratchy. Cheers!
We absolutely loved our tour. Our tour guide Vicki (not sure of spelling) was delightful. Learned so much about the history of the Acropolis. Visit to museum turned out to be just my husband and I so we got a very special private tour. 10/10. Highly recommend getting there early. Less crowds. Ours was at 8am and it was perfect.
Wear good sturdy shoes and step carefully as the ground is uneven and slippery. Vicky was a knowledgeable and informative tour guide. Outstanding one of the best we've had. Be prepared to be awestruck.
Well worth the experience and money! The tour guide was excellent and knowledgeable. I learned a lot about Greek culture and history.
This was an amazing experience covering all the cool sights and museum. Our guide Frowso was very knowledgeable and did a great job explaining the history and cultural significance of everything we saw. I would definitely recommend it to everyone wanting to visit Athens!
Our guide Catherine was very knowledgeable. Don’t be intimidated by the climb. If this old couple can do it so can you.
Helena was our tour guide, and WOW! She was knowledgeable, friendly, passionate and gave us food for thought at every stop on the tour! Helena didn't just reel off information, but also gave anecdotes about the history and the people of Ancient Greece. A true credit to Greece, thank you Helena! The tour was so facinating you will forget your sense of time. When climbing up to the Acroplois, take extra care in rainy weather as certain parts can become slippy, however, the tour guide consistantly check on all of the group to ensure we ascended and descended safely. The museum also consists of magnificent discoveries, but certain areas do not allow photography. This is due to the age of the items in the exhibit and the newness of the discoveries (not officially released to the media). If you are interested in ancient Greek history and archeology, this trip is not to be missed. It is a once in a life time experience that words cannot summise. Once you are there, you know you have seen something truly remarkable.
The tour was fantastic from start to finish. The guide, Elena (I think), was passionate about Greece and the Acropolis. She was a wealth of knowledge and information which bought the different parts of monuments to life. The museum tour was also very good and we were shown the key exhibits with detailed explanations. I’d recommend this to anyone who visiting and is interested in learning more about the history of Athens.
Our guide Vickie was fun and super smart. We really enjoyed this tour! And would recommend it to anyone.
It was a great tour. We saw everything we wanted to see. The guide was super! The meeting place was easy to find and near shopping and food.
This was one of the best tours we've been on! Our tour guide, Fro/Frozen, was wonderful! Very informative, engaged and took time for any questions! We felt like we saw everything there was too see with great commentary along the way. Highly recommend this tour! Thank you!!
Had an amazing experience with Maria. She was so knowledgeable, friendly and gave us so much information about the history and culture. Me and my father LOVED it!!
Our guide was very informative, but it didn't feel like we were on a school field trip...if you know what I mean. She shared her knowledge to help us appreciate the things we were seeing and visiting. It was not overpowering though. She even brought along historical depictions of what we were looking at in its original splendor to better help us appreciate what we were seeing. Great pace. I would have been disappointed to visit this sight without a guide like we had. 5 stars!!
Well organized. The guide was extremely knowledgeable. She was chock full of information and made the tour so interesting.
Be prepared for lots of steps and more steps. But well worth the climb. Our guide was excellent, explaining what we were seeing with a history lesson of democracy and Greece.
Our guide was so knowledgeable and full of historical facts. We learned so much about the true culture of Athens and Greece. Would highly recommend!!
Slippery when wet. )as it was raining a little) but our guide was great. She was very knowledgeable about the everything. Do it in the morning and then you can appreciate the museum more.
The tour guide was very patient and knowledgeable. She answered our questions and took rest stops as needed.
Our excursion was filled with centuries of Greek history, our guide was extremely friendly and knowledgeable of the area’s extensive history. Once again we were very fortunate to have such a great experience.
This was great to see everything easily and the museum is a must see! The guide was super knowledgeable .
Elena was great guide, very knowledgeable. Liked flexibility of museum ticket, could use later on same day. Acropolis is always busy, so nice to not have to get own tickets and get in faster.
We booked our visit for early morning which I would recommend to avoid the crowds. When we were leaving around 11, the inbound lines were very long. Our guide was fantastic. Her knowledge and her ability to communicate and share the history and stories made this extremely enjoyable.
I wish I could remember our guide’s name but she was fantastic! The museum was not something I expected to like but she pointed out the highlights and made it very interesting to learn about! Seeing the acropolis and Parthenon after that made us appreciate the amazing architecture so much more! Our guide was like our personal photographer and she even helped us get a taxi after the tour! She went above and beyond and the overall experience was 10/10!
The tour was interesting and informative. The climb to the Acropolis was intense, exhilarating and fun! The view was stunning. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, organized and humorous. I recommend this tour.
Nice tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and talked very clearly. We had a very nice time enjoying the views.
Extremely knowledgeable guide. She was pleasant and professional. Since tickets were included, entrance was fast and easy. No waiting in lines!
We could not find the tour guide. I tried to call and it was a US number so call would not go thru. We were on site by 730. Our uber did not speak English and it was our first day in Athens. They left without us after six minutes. I will be posting a review in yelp as well. Very frustrating and disappointing. A police officer tried to help to no avail. At minimum our tickets could have been left for us. Not acceptable. VIATOR
Great tour of the Acropolis and museum! Our guide (Jackie I think her name was?) was very knowledgeable and approachable. I highly recommend this tour!
Brilliant well organised historical tour of the Acropolis . The museum was outstanding. Our guide was excellent and really enhanced the experience. Would highly recommend this tour.
Great tour and smart and informative tour guide!
Excellent tour guide, extremely knowledgeable and interesting! Loved the personal touches and timing of the walk!
Wear supportive shoes with good tread! Our guide was fantastic and walking up the steps and trails and rocks was no joke! Very proud once we made it to the top. If it is going to be hot, bring a hat and water as there is not any sol once on property. DO NOT MISS THE MUSEUM! SO much more you see an learn!
Frisson was absolutely amazing!! Probably the best tour guide we have ever had!! Would highly recommend!!
Our tour guide is as absolutely incredible! Her knowledge was vast, her interpersonal skills excellent, pacing fantastic & attention to detail incredible. We didn’t want it to end!
Vicky was an exceptional guide. I liked that we saw the Museum before actually going to the Acropolis. It was a spectacular tour.
Very informative and interesting. Eat pieces worked very well. Guise was very nice and knew her stuff
Plenty of walking which could be slippery when raining but well worth doing. We had atrocious conditions with incessant rain but so glad we completed the tour. Our guide was excellent spoke good English and had good knowledge of the area
From beginning to end, Vicki had us entertained, engaged, enlightened and educated. She was so knowledgeable and easy to listen to. She was a lovely person to spend the morning with and we can’t imagine it being one ounce better. Loved it and would highly recommend the tour.
We have Vicky as our guide. She's awesome. Definitely take this tour as it's worth it. There's thousands of people visiting both the site & museum, it really help when you can skip the line with purchased tickets.
This was so worth it. Skipped the lines, felt like a class A guest. Our guide was top notch and so informative. Had a lovely time, even in the rain!
I loved that the tickets were included so we didn't have to hassle with getting them and our guide was very conscientious about making sure everyone was keeping up with the group. She really brought the acropolis to life with its history and stories. She was also instrumental in taking us through the museum and helping us see how the Parthenon actually looked. Highly recommend.
Best tour guide (Walks through Europe) of all the tours I’ve taken. This tour was worth more than the money paid. I highly recommend!!!
