Our guide Theo was exceptional! He picked us up on time at our hotel and we started out to Corinth. On the drive, he gave us a wealth of information on Greek culture, history and the path of the Apostle Paul. He was extremely knowledgeable on the history of Paul’s time in Greece and showed us notable landmarks where Paul actually preached, worked and lived. We stopped for lunch at a restaurant that he recommended and the view and food were excellent! He was very patient with our group and went out of his way to make our tour a memorable one. We had kids aged 11, 14 & 16 with us and he made the learning relatable to them so they could understand as well. He was genuinely interested in helping us learn about his beloved country. The van was very comfortable and clean, and a great perk was that it had really good air conditioning. That made the tour even more enjoyable since we had been out touring the day before in the Athens heat at 95 degrees, and the day of our tour it was 104 degrees! He supplied us with plenty of water and was very accommodating. The length of our tour was perfect, and the admission fees for the places we visited were very inexpensive or free. If we come back to Athens we will certainly ask for Theo again!

The Corinth Canal is a waterway that crosses the narrow isthmus of Corinth to link the Gulf of Corinth to the Saronic Gulf. As such, the canal separates the Greek mainland from the Peloponnese, turning it into an island The canal, though executed in the late 19th century, has been a 2000-year-old dream. Before its construction, ships in the Aegean Sea that wanted to cross to the Adriatic or anchor in Corinth, a rich shipping city, had to circle the Peloponnese, which would prolong their journey an extra 185 nautical miles. It is believed that Periander, the tyrant of Corinth (602 BC), was the first to conceive of the idea of digging the Corinth Canal. As the project was too complicated given the limited technical capabilities of the times, Periander constructed the diolkos, a stone road which allowed ships to be transferred on wheeled platforms.
Give us the chance to make this icon live and feel together the fundamentals of our culture. Trust the locals!!! Corinth was a city-state on the Isthmus of Corinth, the narrow stretch of land that joins the Peloponnese to the mainland of Greece, roughly halfway between Athens and Sparta. The modern city of Corinth is located approximately 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) northeast of the ancient ruins. For Christians, Corinth is well known from the two letters of Saint Paul in the New Testament, First and Second Corinthians. Corinth is also mentioned in the Acts of the Apostles as part of Paul the Apostle's missionary travels. In addition, the second book of Pausanias' Description of Greece is devoted to Corinth. Ancient Corinth was one of the largest and most important cities of Greece, with a population of 90,000 in 400 BC. The Romans demolished Corinth in 146 BC, built a new city in its place in 44 BC, and later made it the provincial capital of Greece.
Temple of Apollo, Ancient Corinth, Corinth 20007 Greece The Temple of Apollo at Corinth was constructed in 550 BC. Temple of Apollo: One of the earliest Doric temples in the Peloponnese and the Greek mainland with monolithic columns, rare in the ancient world, built around 560 BCE.

Chris is absolutely phenomenal and I don’t even know where to start. Knowledgeable, friendly, very polite and easy going. Arrived on time. We were traveling with 3 kids ( two 16 years old and 12 year old). We had entire day and visited many places among those : Olympia, Ancient Corinth, Canal etc. He made it so interesting for all of us. I worried that kids would get tired ( it’s a long day) but in contrary they were very excited to listen to the stories, interesting facts, mythology and many more. Chris is the type of person who loves to learn new things so it is very pleasant to have different conversations with him. The car was comfortable with good AC and plenty of leg room and cold bottled water. He is hard working individual and overall very kind good person. So blessed to have him. Totally highlight of our vacation in Athens. Thank you! Maria
Nikkos gave me an enjoyable day, professional in everything he did
This was a great experience to see two amazing historical treasures of Corinth and Olympia. It’s a long trip from Athens but well worth it. Our driver, Niko, was very accommodating and knowledgeable.
Our tour guide Christos was fantastic. Very friendly and funny! He shared so much historic information during the drive that we were more than ready to appreciate all the details of Corinth and Olympia. He took us to a castle in Corinth that has been used for 5 different civilizations in over 3000 years! My family (kids 15 and 11 years old) loved it! We had incredible views of both the ancient and modern city. Then our trip to Olympia was soooo smooth that my son said “I slept like a baby” Olympia was beautiful and walking around that historic site was the cherry on the top of the ice cream of our Greek trip. We did some wrestling in the Palestra and practice The Discobolus pose 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Christos was on time, had excellent recommendations and make our long day pass like a breeze!
Where to start about this amazing full day tour! Every second was memorable and our family highly enjoyed the entire day. Is the trip from Athens long? Yes, but so worth it! Our drivers were the incredible Chris and young Aris. Chris is extremely knowledgeable not just about Corinth and Olympia, but Greece and ancient history itself. Aris joined us as a trainee driver but let me assure you he is no novice to history and mythology. Their funny banter kept us entertained throughout the journey and we thoroughly enjoyed our conversations with them. I would definitely rebook with either of them again and recommend the tour and both Chris and Aris 1000%. Bravo gentleman on gaining us as your fans!
Great tour, very convenient and flexible. Tour guide Chris was very informative, and took us to all the best spots.
Chris is a god! From the moment I read his first text over breakfast (complete with a selfie) I knew we were in for a brilliant day. Chris is hilarious and has such a wealth of knowledge to share. Chris is such a people person and clearly loves what he does. The conversation flowed so naturally it was like travelling with a longtime friend. We talked about everything and anything, and laughed a lot. We had stops at the Corinth Canal and in Corinth itself to sightsee. We were given as much time as we wanted and told to text him whenever we wanted to be picked up and he would be there ready for us. On the way he even stopped by a local cake shop to pick up some traditional pastries for us to try, which were absolutely delicious! The over 3 hour drive to Ancient Olympia from Athens flew by as we enjoyed the beautiful countryside. Once we arrived we had a tasty snack in the clean and friendly cafe before exploring the 2 museums, then on to the site of the ruins itself. The area is massive, filled with beautiful columns, crumbling buildings and the large running field and stadium. We spent over 2 and a half hours walking around and taking some excellent photos. There were very few people there and it almost felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. Then we were picked up by Chris and whisked back to Athens. We had a comfort break on the way back and again Chris surprised us with some snacks for the journey. The vehicle was very comfortable with A/C and plenty of bottled water to combat the heat outside. We were back in Athens and at the doorstep of our hotel before we knew it. It was a fantastic experience and a real highlight of our holiday. Ancient Olympia was something that we were looking forward to seeing but the superstar of the day was Chris, he went above and beyond all expectations and if I could give him more than a 5 star review I would! Absolute legend 😊
Nikos was the best tour guide! We enjoyed our time spent in Olympia! We recommend this tour. Nikos was very knowledgeable and tentative.
Chris was an amazing driver full of history and information, along with Greek mythology stories. We all thoroughly enjoyed his tour!
This is an excellent tour best done 2 days with overnight stay in villa. Visit museum first. Audio tour would be nice
It was great to see the country side of Greece! Our driver gave us very good details about the sites and provided many opportunities for breaks and photo ops!
We had the best time! Panos was the best guide. He was so friendly and knowledgable. He took us to amazing places and knew so much about the history of Corinth. You will not be disappointed!
Niko was amazing! He was an excellent driver, thoughtful commentator, and very timely. Plus—he knows Greek culture! He shared historical, cultural, and biological information with us throughout the trip. He answered our questions and offered many local recommendations. He was caring and extremely respectful. Friendly and gracious—we were so happy to travel with him and wished we had booked all of our trips with him! Beautiful sites, very comfy van—clean and lots of room. We learned so much! Five stars!!!!
My driver Christo was very knowledgeable and really made me feel the luxury in this private tour. Also trust his food options they are great! Also the car had wifi which was helpful for the long ride.
I would recommend this excursion to everyone! My driver Christo was amazing. He was very knowledgeable about the history and was able to help me understand and better appreciate the sights. He made this trip VERY personalized and attended to our every need. He was so nice and accommodating! He even had great food recommendations. If you book this please request Christo he is the best!
Had a wonderful day visiting Olympia with Costas! He was a very patient and kind guide who took us to the museums and took us to a delicious restaurant for lunch! He was knowledgeable and enjoyable to talk to!
Our driver tour guide Costas was very friendly, was flexible in adjusting our places of visit, and was highly informative. We learned a lot about Ancient Greek history and culture during our trip from Athens to Olympia. Highly recommend!
Thoroughly enjoyed our driver, Michael. Was very informative and friendly. Told us lots of interesting facts about Greece and pointed out many landmarks. The only disappointment was with the vehicle. When we booked this trip, it was mentioned we'd have a Mercedes luxury car, comfortable for 4 people. This was not a Mercedes. It was a Skoda. Three sat in the back, one up front with the driver. Sitting in the middle of the backseat for 3.5 hrs each way was not the comfortable luxury ride we were expecting and thought we paid for. We felt we didn't get the value we paid for.
This trip provided a private car which pick us at our hotel in Ahtens and drove us to the site of Ancient Olympia. We had to pay our enteance fee which was only6 euros per person. We had plenty of time ti enjoy the site. We were then driven back to hotel. Since we were unable to stop at Olympia on a previous ocean cruise, this was a good way to check Olympia off our bucket list.
We really enjoyed our private tour with Andreas. We decided to make some changes at the last minute and he was extremely flexible and nice about everything. He was probably the most knowledgeable tour guide we had so far in Greece. We highly recommend this tour and Andreas!
Demetri was very knowledgeable and personable and friendly. Although we had spent many days travelling the 3hr car ride each way went quickly. He was flexible and also gave us space and time to start the tour a bit later. We would highly recommend the service.
Our driver Costas was incredible. He was able to tailor our experience to our comfort level. Neither my travel companion or I are very energetic/outgoing people and he understood that we preferred to sit back and relax. He would point out various places and recommended different things we might like to do however was never pushy about anything. Took us to a lovely spot for our lunch and when we did chat was very knowledgeable on many subjects. You will be very pleased with this tour and especially our guide Costas.
This was an amazing tour - highly recommend it ! Our driver Costas made the trip memorable by sharing the history and culture of Greece in our drive to the site. He set just the right pace and shared personal and fun facts with us. If you want to learn about Olympia - take this tour and ask for Costas!
We had a great trip to Olympia. Our driver Costa was very affable and a safe driver. I would totally recommend him. He was knowledgeable. The only issue I would say is. The description says Luxury car. What came was a Taxi. Granted the car was clean and comfortable for us. We weren’t expecting a yellow taxi to show up. I am giving 5 * only due to Costa.
Our driver Micheal was excellent. 5/5 stars. I learned so much about Greece and its culture, now and in the ancient past. His knowledge on a variety of topics was amazing and his English was the best we have had so for on this trip.
Another wonderful tour with Andreas! We visited so many historical places in Athens: Acropolis Hill, Old Olympic Stadium, Athens University, the Museum, Temple of Zeus, Glyfada, Vouliagmeni Lake, Poseidon’s Temple, and more. Andreas planned the day out perfectly, visiting the sites in Athens and then taking a beautiful route along the Mediterranean to get to Poseidon, which was amazing! We stopped for lunch at a fantastic fish restaurant which topped the day y! Andreas is so friendly and knowledgeable, we are so grateful that he was our guide for our two excursions. This was another fantastic day!!
Our tour with Andreas was the most amazing experience. I was captured by all the knowledge and stories Andreas share about the past history. He was able to offer answers to all our questions. He was charming and had a wonderful sense of humor... Follow the Fun!
We absolutely loved this tour. Our guide Andreas was unbelievably knowledge about history of Greece. The drive to Olympia flew by as he told us all about what to expect and recommendations to make the most of our tour. The restaurant he suggested was excellent. Andreas and this tour is a must experience once in a lifetime.
Our guide was Andreas and he was outstanding! He was very knowledgeable and taught us a lot along the way. He even played Mama Mia songs for us when we asked! The tour of Olympia was also amazing! It was a great experience and I highly recommend!
