This was a wonderful tour and exactly what we were hoping for. Our driver Christos was very knowledgable about Greek history and myths. He has a wonderfully cheerful personality and was as curious about his passengers as we were about Greece. He gave us extensive information about the various sites we visited and stopped at two additional that we not on the tour. I would highly recommend this tour!

Itinerary
The Corinth Canal is a waterway that crosses the narrow isthmus of Corinth to link the Gulf of Corinth to the Saronic Gulf. As such, the canal separates the Greek mainland from the Peloponnese, turning it into an island The canal, though executed in the late 19th century, has been a 2000-year-old dream. Before its construction, ships in the Aegean Sea that wanted to cross to the Adriatic or anchor in Corinth, a rich shipping city, had to circle the Peloponnese, which would prolong their journey an extra 185 nautical miles. It is believed that Periander, the tyrant of Corinth (602 BC), was the first to conceive of the idea of digging the Corinth Canal. As the project was too complicated given the limited technical capabilities of the times, Periander constructed the diolkos, a stone road which allowed ships to be transferred on wheeled platforms.
Corinth was a city-state on the Isthmus of Corinth, the narrow stretch of land that joins the Peloponnese to the mainland of Greece, roughly halfway between Athens and Sparta. The modern city of Corinth is located approximately 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) northeast of the ancient ruins. For Christians, Corinth is well known from the two letters of Saint Paul in the New Testament, First and Second Corinthians. Corinth is also mentioned in the Acts of the Apostles as part of Paul the Apostle's missionary travels. In addition, the second book of Pausanias' Description of Greece is devoted to Corinth. Ancient Corinth was one of the largest and most important cities of Greece, with a population of 90,000 in 400 BC. The Romans demolished Corinth in 146 BC, built a new city in its place in 44 BC, and later made it the provincial capital of Greece.
The Archaeological Museum of Ancient Corinth was constructed between 1931-1932, with intentions to display the numerous recent archaeological excavations. The museum is located within the archaeological site of Ancient Corinth, Greece, and lies under the jurisdiction of the 37th Ephoreia of the Greek Archaeological Service. Key aspects of the Archaeological site of Ancient Corinth include: Hadgimoustafa spring Lechaion Road Basilica Fountain of Peirene Stoa Agora Odien Other temples Theatre
The Temple of Apollo at Corinth was constracted in 550 BC.Temple of Apollo one of the earliest Doric temples in the Peloponnese and the Greek Mainland with monolithic columns rare in the ancient world built around 560 BCE
Acrocorinth, "Upper Corinth", the acropolis of ancient Corinth, is a monolithic rock overseeing the ancient city of Corinth, Greece. With its secure water supply, Acrocorinth's fortress was repeatedly used as a last line of defense in southern Greece because it commanded the Isthmus of Corinth, repelling foes from entry by land into the Peloponnese peninsula.
The Epidaurus amphitheatre: Famous for its classic Greek construction and astounding acoustics. Enjoy the arts! Be captivated by the theatrical performances from Euripides, Sophocles, Aristophanes and Aeschylus. Drop a pin or coin on the stage... it will be heard even if you are sitting at the last seats of the theater. The Epidaurus Archaeological Museum: Noted for its reconstructions of temples and its columns with inscriptions. The Asclepius: The sanctuary dedicated to the ancient Greek demi-god of medicine Asclepius. A marvelous ancient medical retreat.
Archaeological Museum of Epidaurus is a museum in Epidaurus, in Argolis on the Peloponnese peninsula, Greece. The museum, noted for its reconstructions of temples and its columns and inscriptions, was established in 1902 and opened in 1909 to display artifacts unearthed in the ancient site of Epidaurus in the surrounding area.
The Temple of Asclepius was a sanctuary in Epidaurus dedicated to Asclepius. It was the main holy site of Asclepius. The sanctuary at Epidaurus was the rival of such major cult sites as the Sanctuary of Zeus at Olympia and Apollo at Delphi. The temple was built in the early 4th century BC. If still in use by the 4th century AD, the temple would have been closed during the persecution of pagans in the late Roman Empire, when the Christian Emperors issued edicts prohibiting non-Christian worship.
The Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus is a theatre in the Greek city of Epidaurus, located on the southeast end of the sanctuary dedicated to the ancient Greek God of medicine, Asclepius. It is built on the west side of Cynortion Mountain, near modern Lygourio, and belongs to the Epidaurus Municipality. It is considered to be the most perfect ancient Greek theatre with regard to acoustics and aesthetics. The monument retains the characteristic tripartite structure of a Hellenistic theatre that has a theatron, orchestra, and skene. During Roman times, the theatre (unlike many Greek theatres) did not suffer any

The sleeping lion is the work of German sculptor Christian Ziegel, commissioned by King Louis, father of Otto, in memory of the Bavarian soldiers of Otto's dynasty, who died in Nafplio in 1833 of a typhoid epidemic. The locals, of course, say that what killed them was the many bitter things they ate, hence the other, unofficial name of the monument (echm) Agouroon.
One of the most well-preserved castles in all of Greece, Palamidi offers spectacular views of the city from its loopholes, wonderful routes inside and terrifying terrain in the hole-prison of Kolokotronis, Palamidi is a fortress to the east of the Acronauplia in the town of Nafplio in the Peloponnese region of southern Greece. Nestled on the crest of a 216-metre high hill, the fortress was built by the Venetians during their second occupation of the area (1686–1715). The fortress commands an impressive view over the Argolic Gulf, the city of Náfplio and the surrounding country. There are 913 steps in the winding stair from the town to the fortress. However, to reach the top of the fortress there are over one thousand, while locals in the town of Nafplion will say there are 999 steps to the top of the castle.

Fantastic day with our guide Alex. Very attentive and knowledgeable and importantly to us a safe driver. We loved all our stops especially Corinth - the museum was great. Would book again with this company and Alex without hesitation. Thank you!
Great trip with Theodore. Loved the itinerary. Gracious and knowledgeable. Corinth and Epidavros were awesome and fascinating places to visit. Great day
Chris our driver was amazing! He provided an options for our tour and we decided on what best we could fit in a day. Chris" knowledge of the history is phenomenal and we really enjoyed the information and great conversation. If
Alex is the absolute best. He is so friendly, funny and one of the best tour guys I have ever had. He is honest, gives feedback and is great at what he does. We are already planning to do future travels with him. Thank you Alex from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you for making the last day of our honeymoon the best. See you soon!!
Our trip started with a big welcome from our driver Alex who waited for us with a nice van. We enjoyed his vast knowledge and genuine interest to know more about his clients. We had some interesting conversations during the day. We took his great recommendations for lunch and enjoyed the stops of our trip. Alex is very polite and professional. We highly recommend him.
Such a lovely day, exactly what we wanted. Thank you to Giannis for a special day outside of the city, including showing us the best lunch spot in Nafplio! My son and I enjoyed our day. Don't be afraid to ask if you want to make changes to the itinerary. We made some changes and our guide rolled with it, made for an ideal day for our interests!
We have visited different places. Khorintos anda Nauplio are beautilful! Our guide Themos drove carefully , he gave us information about each point, he always paid attention to our needs. He stopped in other place apart from the places mentioned in this tour.
This tour was amazing! It was a great trip for varying ages and abilities. There were 7 of us from teens to 70s and we all had a great time on this private tour. There was something for everyone to see at all the sites. If someone wanted to explore a little more there were opportunities for that. There were also great spots in the shade and in cafes for those who didn’t want to. Everyone had a great time exploring the historical sites, enjoying great views, and shopping! It was very hot but the air conditioned van and water provided were great. Our tour guide, Chris, was also wonderful! He was super flexible and knowledgeable. He did not rush us at all and we actually went longer than the listed tour time! He even took us to a couple extra sites that we were interested in. He gave us great information on the drives and made us all feel welcomed. He also helped us arrange a hotel to port transfer. I would recommend this tour and Chris to anyone!
We had a great day. Our guide John picked us up right on time at our hotel. He was very knowledgable about what we wanted to see and do. He gave us advice on time to spend in each place, but we could decide. His recommendation for lunch was excellent and reasonably priced. It was warm so he provided us with plenty of water. Very nice and comfortable car. We have been on many tours, and this was one of the best.
Perfect day exploring the Peloponnese. Our guide and driver George was wonderful - great information at a conversational pace. We traveled as a family of four with two teens who thoroughly enjoyed the very full day! Rest up, and be prepared for the wonder of each site on this journey.
The tour was absolutely amazing, and Chris, our tour guide and driver, made it even better! He was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the region and shared so many fascinating details. My son, who is a history enthusiast, had an incredible time chatting with him. Highly recommend!!!
Michael was an excellent private tour driver! He was extremely professional and knowledgeable and made us feel at ease with him. He came equipped with a cooler of water for us. He showed us all the hidden gems and gave us invaluable tips. This was for the Corinth, Epidravos and Napflion tour. Thanks, Michael!!
We booked this trip and Ed was skeptical / foreign country and being too older females traveling alone. But we lucked out and got a driver tour guide named Michael. Michael was great. He was very knowledgeable. He was very patient with us and our slow walking. He told us many things and we learned a lot about the Corinth canal, there was several other places he took us to that were just fascinating. He stopped at a church for us that was not on the tour and it was awesome. It was Saint Paul’s church in the outside of ancient Corinth Michael was great I I felt safe comfortable and very pampered with Michael. He had a cold water for us open the doors for us. He’s a very kind young man and I would greatly do this trip again. If I knew Michael would be my driver and guide. I highly recommend Michael we did not meet a new friend. I felt like we had known each other for a long time. Wishing you well, Michael and we hope to return and see you being a guide on a bus. God bless you. Your two Aunts 💕💙💕
We did the Corinth tour on Sunday the 19th with Andreas. Andreas made the trip worth every penny and more. Very knowledgeable and wonderful to have a conversation with. Enjoyed the experience immensely!
We’d been to Athens before and were heading there with a cruise ship so thought we’d make the journey to Corinth. But beware the experience is LONG. Like 9 1/2 hours total. Lots of driving. Chris was a very good driver. He was pleasant and friendly and accommodating. We had some nice conversation but the information we got about the sites was from an iPad Wikipedia page he had opened for us to peruse in his taxi. So not really a guide. The museums at the places we visited are a good intro so do them first. Corinth ruins are nice and the amphitheater at Ephadorus is impressive. Chris dropped us at a nice area in Nafplio to get some lunch and walk around the old town. Then we saw the view from the fortress which was beautiful! And then back again for the long drive to the port. It was a nice trip, just be aware that it is a long journey with lots of driving, and depending on your driver there may or may not be a lot of information, like a guide might provide, if that’s what you are looking for.
We had a wonderful time with Kostas at the wheel. History, geography, you name it, and he knew everything! He went out of his way to explain things and in the end took us to a marvelous seafood restaurant. All in all, a wonderful day and the weather too was perfect. Thank you Kostas.
My family and I (a group of 6 total) thoroughly enjoyed the private tour with our tour guide Michael! Michael was very professional, funny, and extremely knowledgeable about St. Paul, Corinth, and the Peloponnese region. We saw several sites, churches, and more bringing St. Paul’s journey to life. We learned so much from Michael and how Corinthians lived and got to see some incredible temples and structures. Every site was breathtaking even the beach that St. Paul baptized one of the first Corinthians. We ended the day with several options for lunch. Michael’s recommendation was spot on - great Greek food and wine. Also, Michael made the drive from Athens to Corinth so smooth and truly connected with each of us. We felt like family by the end of the day. If you’re considering doing this tour, book it now! It’s the perfect day trip from Athens and offers you something slightly different from what you will find in Athens or any of the Greek islands. Definitely an option that rounds out one’s trip! Book it and be sure to ask for Michael!
Christos was fantastic. He was right on time, an excellent driver and companion, and ensured the tour was tailored to our interests. It was the perfect way to see Ancient Greece while experiencing all Greece has to offer today. The car was comfortable and roomy and he provided water, juice, and snacks on the way. Just a great day!
We took a tour with Costas to the Corinth area in the footsteps of St Paul! It was outstanding. Costas was very helpful and a great driver, guide and overall good guy! Highly recommend using him for any tours originating from Athens!
Our driver took his time and kept a balance between explaining landmarks to us and letting us relax and enjoy the scenic view. He understood our interests by asking a few questions and made suggestions and recommendations for the future accordingly. He arrived early and drove carefully giving us our space and time at each stop. Andreas was Very professional and pleasant to deal with. Highly highly recommend him.
My husband and I had a wonderful Time on this tour. We arrived a day ahead of the rest of our group and we’re looking for something that combined ancient history and beautiful scenery -Corinth and Nafpilo fit that bill perfectly. Andreas, our tour guide was very knowledgeable and so personable. We got to chat not just about the history behind the sites we were visiting that day but also just about Greek culture and recent history. Excellent experience all around.
Great tour and great experience. Andreas was very informative and very accommodating. Not only did we learn a lot, but Andreas was funny too. My family and I had a great time! I would highly recommend this tour and Andreas. Everything was 10/10!

Fantastic trip! Andreas was super accommodating and allowed me to amend the tour to 2 stops to Zulu bungy at the canal and Acrocorinth. Beautiful place (not as busy and not too far from Athens) highly recommended.
Everything we saw on the trip was very cool. I'd recommend hiring a guide at the sites, it provided a lot more context and insight into where we were visiting.
