Itinerary
Our first stop is at the impressive Corinth canal as your driver describes its many interesting ill-fated and varied History’s from Ancient times to the present. The Corinth Canal connects the Gulf of Corinth in the Ionian Sea with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea. It cuts through the narrow Isthmus of Corinth and separates the Peloponnese from the Greek mainland, arguably making the peninsula an island. The canal was dug through the isthmus at sea level and has no locks. It is 6.4 kilometres (4 mi) in length and only 21.4 metres (70 ft) wide at its base, making it impassable for many modern ships. From high up, you can enjoy the best view of Corinth's isthmus and admire the steep limestone walls while you observe the vessels below you navigate their way through the canal
Here, you can visit the Archaeological site and the museum of Ancient Corinth, one of the most important cities in Ancient Greece. Here, you have one hour to explore Apollo temple, the temple to Octavia, the baths, the Bema where St. Paul addressed the Corinthians, the Peirine fountain complex, the theatre, the Roman Odeum... Inside the archaeological site you can visit also the museum with exhibits from the area.
The Archaeological Museum of Ancient Corinth was constructed between 1931-1932, with intentions to display the numerous recent archaeological excavations. The museum is located within the archaeological site of Ancient Corinth, Greece, and lies under the jurisdiction of the 37th Ephoreia of the Greek Archaeological Service. Key aspects of the Archaeological site of Ancient Corinth include: • Hadgimoustafa spring • Lechaion Road • Basilica • Fountain of Peirene • Stoa • Agora • Odien • Other temples • Theatre
The Temple of Apollo at Corinth was constructed in 550 BC.
Last stop is the Acropolis of the Ancient Corinth, called Acrokorinthos, a monolithic rock that was continuously occupied from archaic times to the early 19th century. Here you have one hour to visit the castle. You will enjoy the amazing view 575 meters above sea level, and explore the three castle gates, the Upper Pirene springs, the temple to Aphrodite which was Christianized as a church on the top...

ancient corinth the footsteps of Paul the Apostole an unique place and experience. thanks a lot Xenofotas an very informative guide
Cristiano did a fabulous job. Professional, warm and friendly. Sensitive to possible needs - like “do you want to stop for something to eat, use restroom, etc.”. The knowledge he shared was informative and of great interest. I especially appreciated a text the evening before to introduce himself and tell me that he would arrive at the scheduled time.
It’s a really interesting tour, each of the stops was definitely worth a visit. Nikos our driver was very professional, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We really appreciated his contribution.
We had a fantastic time visiting Corinth. Our driver Kyriakos was super friendly, helpful and efficient. Everything ran to time and we saw all that we wanted to. Special thanks for fitting us in at the very last minute another another tour company let us down.
Cristiano is an excellent driver and a very nice guy. We had a great day and he made it even better sharing much of the local Greek history with us and taking us to our destinations. I would highly recommend him!
Thodoris was our driver and he did an amazing job telling us interesting information on our drive. He was very kind and courteous and dropped us at the front of each site. Every stop was excellent and well worth it! Thank you Thodoris for a great day!
This was one of the best days by far. Second time in Greece and sis not know this was here. The climb up the the mountain thru the outside of the castle was amazing!!
Good tour. There was an unexpected charge for part of the tour. We would have liked a bit more narration and interaction from our drive/guide. The three stops we had were each unique. Overall, it was a good tour.
kyriakos Was on time and a very safe driver in crazy Athens traffic. He was Knowledgeable about the area
Corinth was a stop we had to make visiting Greece and it was amazing!! The history of this place is amazing and being able to see acrocorinth was outstanding. Thank you Cristiano for this amazing day
My husband and thoroughly enjoyed getting out of Athens and taking the trip to see Corinth as well as the canal. Our guide conveyed important information for each of our stops. It was a great experience!
Lots of walking, not much shade. The museum at the ancient ruins is good, but not necessary and it is free to walk around the outside ruins. Stops 2,3 and 4 are all at the same location. The arcorinth closes at 3:30 and we did not have enough time to go to the top. Our driver Nikos was a great and provided us with lots of information
This tour was fantastic. The Cornith canal, ancient ruins, and Acrocorinth fortress where all amazing sights. It was a great day trip out of Athens with enough time to get your fill of all the historical sights while getting back to Athens early enough to do what you want in the evening. Our tour guide Miltos was very friendly and knowledge on any questions we had when driving around. He also was very flexible with what the group wanted to do and made sure everyone got what then needed during any rest stop visit. The museum and ruins of the ancient city and the temple of Apollo were all fascinating . Would spend more time looking at the ruins since there are more than just the temple and it is quite extensive for 1 hour. The mideval fortress was also incredible with amazing views from start to finish. You have the option to take it light on hiking up to the top of the fortress, exploring the area at the bottom with a restaurant, or both. I would recommend trying to get to the top since the views are amazing and you get a full view of both sides of the isthmus. It also had great sights at the bottom and halfway up, so it can be tailored to however much effort you want to put into the hike. Would definitely recommend if you want to see all the historical sights in Corinth with no fluff.
Christiano was our tour driver and he was fantastic. He shared lots of interesting local history about the places we visited and the areas we passed through, which really added to the experience. We had plenty of time at each stop, and Christiano gave us helpful tips and information about what to see and the history behind each place. His driving was excellent, and we really enjoyed his company throughout the day. We highly recommend Christiano and would happily book a tour with him again!
Yaynna very nice gentleman very informative We had an amazing day.
We booked this tour as 4 friends. It was the highlight of our overall vacation. The way Cristiano describes everything, it all comes to life. Very accommodating aswell.
We had a nice tour, the side trip to Corinth was great, smaller crowds the cannel and old Corinth was good to see.
We had a wonderful day seeing the Corinth canal and exploring ancient Corinth. Our driver Cristiano gave us information about each stop as we drove to it. Beautiful views! Wear good shoes for the climb up the mountain.
This was a fantastic trip. Miltos was an excellent guide and driver. Would recommend this trip to anyone who is interested in history.
Excellent excursion with Nikos at the wheel! From the moment he picked us up, Nikos was incredibly hospitable. Throughout our journey, he shared interesting insights about Athens, Greece, and the places we were visiting, adding so much to the overall experience. The vehicle was comfortable, and Nikos kept the ride enjoyable with great music, easy conversation, and plenty of laughs along the way. The Corinth Canal and Ancient Corinth absolutely did not disappoint! Being able to physically stand in these historic locations was mind-blowing. If we could change one thing, we might have allowed ourselves a little more time at Ancient Corinth—there is simply so much history and information to take in. But that is certainly not a complaint; we thoroughly enjoyed the experience from beginning to end. I already can’t wait to visit Athens again, and when we do, we would absolutely call upon Nikos and his crew. Don’t hesitate—book your transport and enjoy the journey!
Yiannis was prompt for pickup at our chosen location. He was friendly and informative. He tailored our experience to our preferences. He was flexible and enhanced our knowledge of Corinth, Ancient Corinth and the Corinth Canal. Would definitely tour with him again in the future. When we were done, he allowed us to choose our drop off location. It was a great half day tour! Thank you!
We were picked up at the cruise ship terminal and then dropped at a hotel near the airport which was perfect. It took about 1 hour 10 minutes to get to the Corinth Canal. Our guide/driver Nikos really knows all of Greece and its history. He gives a running commentary and could answer any question we asked. After seeing the canal, we went on to see the ruins of ancient Corinth. There are ruins of a temple and theater, but they have uncovered as much of them as some other sites. The archeological museum is well worth the 15 euro admission. It has some of the most complete statues, plaques, figurines etc. That we have seen. Then we went up to Acrocorinth which is a castle and acropolis above the museum. The site is 575 meters up a rough coblestone road. We made it half way in 93 degree heat. This still gave us fantastic views from the sea to the mountains. Nikos preps you on everything you will see and we were in a very comfortable van. This is a great tour for seeing something outside of Athens.
This is a wonderful tour away from the city. Yiannis was a great guide. The canal was spectacular and his stops were very good for snacks and restrooms. The old ruins were interesting but wish he had given us more direction there or could have accompanied us for more detail.
We were traveling for our honeymoon and were picked up by Yiannis for our drive into Corinth! We travelled with two others couples in a van, with great air conditioning! We had an amazing time. He made sure we had snacks and water during our trip and we saw all of the wonderful history Corinth has to offer. He shared historical facts and stories along the way. We even made a small stop on the way back to see a special underwater bridge. We had a wonderful time and would recommend it to many others!
The tour was amazing! The car was very clean, and the driver was extremely knowledgeable about history! I recommend it 100%!
Excellent experience, Knowledgeable and attentive tour driver. Loved the archeological site, and the view of the canal is breathtaking!
it didn't happen, there was a mistake with the booking ,tried to rectify it but was completely ignored
Great half day trip, and made it back in plenty of time for a different half day trip for sunset at Cape Sounion (highly recommend!). The driver was very good and gave us some explanation as he dropped us off at each site.
My girlfriend and I had an amazing time visiting Ancient Corinth! The entire experience was unforgettable, and a big part of that was thanks to our driver, Thodoris. He was friendly, professional, and made us feel comfortable throughout the trip. What really made the tour special was how much he shared with us about the history of the area. His knowledge and passion brought Ancient Corinth to life and made us appreciate the site ev more. . We highly recommend Thodoris to anyone looking for a memorable and informative tour. Thank you for a fantastic day—we'll definitely book with you again!
I went with friends and we had a great time. It was such an easy car ride and I almost always get car sick. The tour spots were absolutely beautiful, we had plenty of time to explore and take photos, and the tour guide was so kind he knew his history well!
This was a great tour! Cristiano was fantastic, knowledgeable, professional, and on time. The van was comfortable and cool after walking in the heat. Overall great tour!
Awesome experience traveling from Athens to Corinth. Cristiano and John were excellent drivers and guides. Beautiful place. Would certainly recommend.
We had a great day trip from Athens to Corinth! Christiano and John were our tour guides and they were amazing!! We had a group of 8 plus a baby and the tour was so easy and our tour guides were very friendly and informative. Would highly recommend!
Great experience, Christiano and John were great guides
My family had Cristiano and John and they were amazing! They taught us a lot about the area and let us explore at our own pace. We highly recommend this tour and having them as your guides.
Nikos communicated well and kept us informed. Since its a 'private' tour don't expect a guide. All the stops are self guided. The driver waits with the vehicle and your belongings. Interesting sites. Expect a long climb to the fortress!
Our driver and guide, Xenofontas, was very knowledgeable and personable. He answered all the questions we had. He was even happy to accommodate our request to try Goody’s after our full day of seeing the sights! Highly recommend taking a private tour over the cruise excursions since they do not cost significantly more and the private attention is well worth it!
Great tour! We really enjoyed seeing the Corrinth Canal & ruins where St. Paul preached. There is a self guided tour available which was excellent to learn about everything. Our driver was helpful & took us to a great restaurant we at family style at. Excellent tour. Highly recommend it.
We did the private tour of ancient Corinth and the canal, it was a great tour we got picked up from our Airbnb and did the tour with a stop for food, coffee, ice cream and souvenirs shopping, loads of history on the tour. We got up close and personal with each of the 4 stops on the tour, our guide John was amazing, had the best day!!
Brilliant tour to Corinth including a visit to the historical Corinth Canal and ancient city of Corinth. The driver was professional and knowledgable. Would definitely recommend!
Thodoris was awesome. He arrived a little early and waited patiently for us. We didnt even realize we had a private tour, so that was a nice surprise. He drove us to the canal and then the Corinth museum and waited patiently for us to do all our explorations. Then he took us over the the acropolis where did our best to hike up to the top. It was the never ending hike to get up there, but so was thr beauty. After we all sat down and enjoyed a little snack at the café. He tired us out so much, I think I took a little nap on the way back. It was the perfect last day for our trip!
It was exactly as stated. Stopped for the right amount of time at the Corinth Canal. Then on to Ancient Corinth, where we had an out to walk around the site on our own, which was the perfect amount of time. Then on to the old and giant fortress Acorocorinth, where we had time to climb as high into it as you wanted. Our driver, Nikos, recommended we have lunch at the Taverna there, and we were not disappointed! We really enjoyed the day! A little action we really appreciated is that Nikos reached out the day before on WhatsApp to introduce himself, and more important, giving us a contact point in case something came up. Highly recommend!
We went to three sites related to Corinth. My main interest is in Apostle Paul and this guide gave us a lot of great information about him. The Ancient Corinth site and the port in East Corinth were fabulous.
Amazing experience, thank you Thodoris 👍
Our driver Thedoris was on time to pick us up from our hotel. He was friendly and courteous. We are able to take our time to enjoy the sights of ancient Corinth.
Great trip exploring ancient Corinth after stopping for a photo opportunity at the Corinth canal. Then onto the hilltop acropolis of Acrocorinth. Breathtaking views from the top, well worth the climb. This was followed by a great lunch at the taverna at the top of the hill. Many thanks to our driver/ guide, Nicos, who gave us super background information and drove us safely from our accommodation to the sights and back again.
This tour was the perfect mix of history, culture, breathtaking views, and expert storytelling! Everything was well organized and comfortable! I would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Greece whether you are a history lover, a photography enthusiast or simply looking for a memorable day trip. It’s truly a journey through time and beauty! Xenofontas was amazing, he deserves all the good words for his service and kindness!
Our trip was very enjoyable! Our driver John was professional, experienced and fun!! He speaks very good English and was able to share a lot of history and culture with us. Thanks to him for a great day!!
A brilliant day out with Thodoris, visiting the Corinth canal, the amazing Acrocorinth hilltop fortress, ancient Corinth, Loutraki and Kenchreae harbour ruins. (Old Corinth harbour)
