I enjoyed every minute and Nathan, my guide and driver, was punctual, courteous, attentive and he and the tour sites made for a great experience that surpassed my expectations. A definite highlight of my trip to Greece.

Itinerary
The Corinth Canal connects the Gulf of Corinth in the Ionian Sea with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea. It cuts through the narrow Isthmus of Corinth and separates the Peloponnese from the Greek mainland, arguably making the peninsula an island. The canal was dug through the isthmus at sea level and has no locks. It is 6.4 kilometres (4 mi) in length and only 21.4 metres (70 ft) wide at its base, making it impassable for many modern ships. From high up, you can enjoy the best view of Corinth's isthmus and admire the steep limestone walls while you observe the vessels below you navigate their way through the canal.
Corinth was a city-state on the Isthmus of Corinth, the narrow stretch of land that joins the Peloponnese to the mainland of Greece, roughly halfway between Athens and Sparta. The modern city of Corinth is located approximately 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) northeast of the ancient ruins. For Christians, Corinth is well known from the two letters of Saint Paul in the New Testament, First and Second Corinthians. Corinth is also mentioned in the Acts of the Apostles as part of Paul the Apostle's missionary travels. In addition, the second book of Pausanias' Description of Greece is devoted to Corinth. Ancient Corinth was one of the largest and most important cities of Greece, with a population of 90,000 in 400 BC. The Romans demolished Corinth in 146 BC, built a new city in its place in 44 BC, and later made it the provincial capital of Greece.
The Archaeological Museum of Ancient Corinth was constructed between 1931-1932, with intentions to display the numerous recent archaeological excavations. The museum is located within the archaeological site of Ancient Corinth, Greece, and lies under the jurisdiction of the 37th Ephoreia of the Greek Archaeological Service.
The fortified citadel of ancient Mycenae, the seat of the mythical and mighty King Agamemnon. An impressive and well-preserved site, the city of Mycenae gave its name to an entire civilization. Admire sites such as the Tomb of Clytemnestra, the infamous Lion’s Gate, the Cyclopean walls and learn of their blood-stained past. In the second millennium BC, Mycenae was one of the major centres of Greek civilization, a military stronghold which dominated much of southern Greece, Crete, the Cyclades and parts of southwest Anatolia. The period of Greek history from about 1600 BC to about 1100 BC is called Mycenaean in reference to Mycenae. At its peak in 1350 BC, the citadel and lower town had a population of 30,000 and an area of 32 hectares.
The Archaeological Museum of Mycenae is found at the entrance of the ancient site, just a few steps before the Lion Gate.
The Treasury of Atreus or Tomb of Agamemnon is a large tholos or beehive tomb on Panagitsa Hill at Mycenae constructed during the Bronze Age around 1250 BC. The stone lintel above the doorway weighs 120 tons, with approximate dimensions 8.3 x 5.2 x 1.2m, the largest in the world. The tomb was used for an unknown period. Mentioned by the Roman geographer Pausanias in the 2nd century AD, it was still visible in 1879 when the German archaeologist Heinrich Schliemann discovered the shaft graves under the "agora" in the Acropolis at Mycenae.
The Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus is a theatre in the Greek city of Epidaurus, located on the southeast end of the sanctuary dedicated to the ancient Greek God of medicine, Asclepius. It is built on the west side of Cynortion Mountain, near modern Lygourio, and belongs to the Epidaurus Municipality. It is considered to be the most perfect ancient Greek theatre with regard to acoustics and aesthetics. The monument retains the characteristic tripartite structure of a Hellenistic theatre that has a theatron, orchestra, and skene. During Roman times, the theatre (unlike many Greek theatres) did not suffer any modifications.
The Temple of Asclepius was a sanctuary in Epidaurus dedicated to Asclepius. It was the main holy site of Asclepius. The sanctuary at Epidaurus was the rival of such major cult sites as the Sanctuary of Zeus at Olympia and Apollo at Delphi. The temple was built in the early 4th century BC. If still in use by the 4th century AD, the temple would have been closed during the persecution of pagans in the late Roman Empire, when the Christian Emperors issued edicts prohibiting non-Christian worship.
Enjoy a superb lunch, coffee, or shopping at the ‘Naples of the East’ rich in Venetian architecture, cobbled squares, and towering castles with commanding views of the Argolic Gulf. Afterwards, unwind by the harbor or get lost in the colorful back streets of the most elegant town in mainland Greece. Nafplio is a seaport town in the Peloponnese in Greece that has expanded up the hillsides near the north end of the Argolic Gulf. The town was an important seaport held under a succession of royal houses in the Middle Ages as part of the lordship of Argos and Nauplia, held initially by the de la Roche following the Fourth Crusade before coming under the Republic of Venice and, lastly, the Ottoman Empire. The town was the capital of the First Hellenic Republic and of the Kingdom of Greece, from the start of the Greek Revolution in 1821 until 1834. Nafplio is now the capital of the regional unit of Argolis.
Enjoy the view of the water castle of Bourtzi, a Venetian castle located in the middle of the harbor of Nafplio, and take fascinating photos from the harbor side.
Palamidi is a fortress to the east of the Acronauplia in the town of Nafplio in the Peloponnese region of southern Greece. Nestled on the crest of a 216-metre high hill, the fortress was built by the Venetians during their second occupation of the area (1686–1715). The fortress commands an impressive view over the Argolic Gulf, the city of Náfplio and the surrounding country. There are 913 steps in the winding stair from the town to the fortress. However, to reach the top of the fortress there are over one thousand, while locals in the town of Nafplion will say there are 999 steps to the top of the castle.
The Acronauplia is the oldest part of the city of Nafplion in Greece. Until the thirteenth century, it was a town on its own. The arrival of the Venetians and the Franks transformed it into part of the town's fortifications. Later, part of it was used as a prison until the Greek government decided that the view provided from its location would benefit the local tourism and built a hotel complex which still stands there today.

One of the best day trips we have done. Our driver was knowledgeable about the area and gave us local insight. Would recommend hands down.
We had a fantastic trip and a very friendly driver and guide named Harry. We all had a great time!
Amazing experience. This is a tour that's a great combination of history and beauty, and definitely worth it. Giorgos was a great driver and I had a great time talking with him. Very intelligent and you'll learn alot from him on the trip. I consider this a must do if you're visiting Greece.
Mr. George is a brilliant guide who doesn't just show you where history happened, but explains how it all connects to everything happening today—and makes you laugh out loud while doing it. Mr. George is immensely knowledgeable and profoundly engaging. I cannot recommend him highly enough for anyone who wants their history served with intellect, relevance, and a delightfully wicked wit.
We had a wonderful day touring some of the most amazing historic sites of this part of Greece. Our driver/guide, Giorgios, was extremely knowledgeable, well-spoken, courteous, and an excellent driver. He made our experience very comfortable and we learned so much from him—my partner nicknamed him “the professor” because of his comprehensive knowledge—but he also allowed us to sit quietly and absorb what we were seeing. Each of the sites we visited would warrant a full day’s exploration but this trip gave us a taste of each. Highly recommended!
Wonderful tour of some of the archeological sites of Peloponnese. Amazing to walk in the footsteps of the Apostle Paul in Ancient Corinth and to see the world’s best preserved theater in Epidaurus. Dimitris was a wealth of knowledge and kept us on schedule. Everything was made easy from pickup at the seaport to drop off at the hotel. Highly recommend this day trip from Athens.
For once in your life, if you happen to be in Greece, take this trip to Corinth and nearby places. The tour took us on a smooth ride to Corinth, Mycanae and all the interesting places along the way. After which, a sumptous lunch in Nafplios where some of the rich and famous dock their yacths. Paired with a wonderful driver (George), it made the trip more wonderful with his sense of humor and tales of life in Greece. It surely is a trip of a lifetime.
Absolutely loved our tour with Panos! He went above and beyond to make the day wonderful for us, even changed the tour plans to accommodate my elderly parents and adjusted things last minute when we missed the train ( not our tour guide fault, we were running late that morning).
Today my husband and I had an unforgettable experience on our private tour, and we couldn't be more grateful. From start to finish, everything was perfectly organized and exceeded our expectations. A special thank you to our driver and guide, Nathan, who truly made the day exceptional. His kindness, professionalism, and deep knowledge of Greek history brought every site we visited to life. He was not only extremely courteous and respectful, but also attentive to every detail, ensuring our comfort and enjoyment throughout the day. We learned so much and felt deeply connected to the places we visited thanks to his insightful explanations and storytelling. Nathan's warm personality and genuine passion for sharing the beauty of Greece made this tour an absolute highlight of our trip. He is an outstanding professional and a wonderful person. We also want to compliment the company for their excellent service and for providing such high-quality experiences. Everything was seamless, from the booking process to the end of the tour. Thank you, Nathan, for a truly magical day. We will always remember it with great affection and appreciation.
This was a great alternative to a large group tour. Crispy Local was accommodating and tailored our visit to the exact sites we wanted to visit.
This was the perfect lux experience, very highly recommended! Giorgos is an excellent driver, very polite and attentive, he provided ua a lot of interesting information and good recommendations, helped with suggestions, and met us at every meeting point immediately, so we never had to wait or search. He really helped us to have the best trip ever. The vehicle was also on top level, very comfortable and safe. And of course the nature of Peloponnese, the views on the way, the great archeological sites are amazing! Thank you so much for a wonderful day!
What a great day! Anthony was so knowledgeable of the area, and very personable to make the trip very comfortable, relaxing, and informative!
Tour was fantastic. Anthony was exceptional as our guide. Very knowledgeable about places we visited, friendly personality, gave us an excellent recommendation for restaurant, and very safe and excellent driver. Highly recommend this tour and our guide, Anthony.
Our tour to Corinth, Mycenae, Napoli, and Epicurus was amazing. Ioannis was an excellent driver and tour guide. He had great historical and mythological stories, and recommendations for lunch. He was very personable and being native to the region gave us information from the local standpoint. Wish we had toured with him our first day so we could book the rest of our tours with him. 5+ stars!
I am so happy that we took this private tour. The driver was knowledgeable, very friendly, spoke great English. He was a very safe driver and we enjoyed every site we visited. Tickets at each site are not included in the price of the tour, but we didn't find it to be an issue. We were able to move along at our own pace, and he never rushed us. It was a fantastic day.
Highly recommend Crispy Locals! Our driver was very charismatic and was very knowledgeable about the area. We traveled around very comfortably and had a lot of flexibility when it came to time!
What a great tour! Anthony made the tour fascinating, educational and fun. I highly recommend this tour.
This tour hit some of the key sites in Greece’s ancient and amazing history. Our driver, Anthony, drove us safely from place to place, and did a great job informing us about the sites we would be visiting. His recommendation about the restaurant for lunch was spot on. The time we had at each stop was just right and well planned. I recommend this tour without hesitation
Petras took us on a fabulous tour, saw everything we wanted to see, great drive throughout the Peloponnesus, didn’t feel rushed at all.
This should have been a good experience, places we wanted to see and flexible time to explore. Unfortunately the driver was not very professional. Instead of telling us about the places we were going to see, he chose to bring up topics of conversation like personal religious beliefs. He also made several suggestive remarks to and about my 29 year old granddaughter. We chose to cut the tour short and return to Athens early. We reported the experience to the local owner of the tour company. We have not received any response. I’m sorry we spent our money on this tour and I hope you can avoid the same mistake.
Excellent trip seeing major ancient Greek sights in the Peleponese and I would like to give high recommendations for it. We had sufficiently time at all sights without any rush. Our driver Harry was polite and helpful so our trip went very well.
We had an amazing experience with this tour that took us to Ancient Corinth, Nafpoli, Mycenes and Epidaurus. George was super friendly and was very patient with us. He never rushed us and was very detail oriented with information about food and place. Will always cherish these memories. We highly recommend this tour.
Extraordinary service and flexibility shown to us throughout the experience. Pick-up location changed day before tour and we required larger SUV to accommodate our luggage which was arranged by our driver/guide. He was very knowledgeable and worked hard to plan day to avoid crowds and bus tour visits to the sites. It was fantastic that he was able to transfer us to an airport hotel at conclusion of trip and took extra measures to ensure the day met our expectations. Highly recommended!
We liked Ancient Corinth because it wasn’t crowded and we could spend quality time there (we weren’t rushed) and the little town was cute.
We toured Ancient Corinth, Mycenae, Epicurus and Nafplio with George as our guide. Our family had a wonderful time. George was very knowledgeable and made sure that we were informed of the essentials to see at each site. He was fantastic! Would certainly recommend this tour to family and friends!
George was an extremely knowledgeable tour guide. His knowledge went beyond historical sites and to the Greek culture in general. It was a great tour we saw so much of Peloponnese, which was the perfect thing after spending four days in Athens. We toured all the great sites, and had as much time as we needed at each location. If you are looking to see more of Greek and Myceanean history, this is the tour for you. In addition, you get to see breathtaking landscapes, which was also a great part of the trip. I would highly recommend it.
If you are on the fence about taking this trip, don't be. This all-day tour was one of the best experiences we've had! From start to finish, it was just top notch. We were picked up at our Airbnb right on time and dropped off at our doorstep. We didn't have to worry about a single thing all day. We spent the day with George and he is AMAZING!!!! He has so much knowledge about everything! We all learned sooooo much from him on this trip. You can tell that he loves what he does. We loved having the freedom to personalize the tour to our needs a bit. We were able to spend more time at the sites that interested us the most and a bit less in spots where we really only wanted to see one or two things. Not only did we get to see four amazing locations, but the drive throughout the Peloponnese region was breathtaking! It gave us such a different perspective of Greece than our stay in Athens. George made the trip fun, interesting, and educational. I would do this tour again in a heartbeat. It was truly an unforgettable trip and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an adventure! What an amazing tour guide and tour company!
We had a great day with Ioannis as our driver. He took us all the places and always had a documentary for every place. We loved Nafplio and we will come back again for at least a weekend. Lunch was excellent and the owner gave us a complimentary traditional orange pie that was superb! We totally recommend this tour!
Starting with our Guide, Kostas, everything was very pleasant. The places were spectacular, learning more deeply about history outside Athens. I believe our driver/guide has made all the difference. The attention given and all the explanations, from beginning to end, were fundamental for everything to go perfectly. Super recommend.
