We had a private tour for our group of four. Our guide, Stevi, is an anthropologist and was full of fascinating anthropological as well as Grecian mythical history facts and stories. She was very considerate of others and the environment and it was such an enjoyable and educational experience to spend the morning with her. We would highly recommend asking for her and consider signing up for a private or small tour to get the best experience. Thank you Stevi for a memorable day in Athens. Bring a hat and sunglasses and wear sneakers not walking sandals, and don’t forget the sunscreen.

The Acropolis of Athens is an ancient citadel located on a rocky outcrop above the city of Athens and contains the remains of several ancient buildings of great architectural and historic significance, the most famous being the Parthenon. The word acropolis is from the Greek words ἄκρον and πόλις
The Parthenon is a former temple on the Athenian Acropolis, Greece, dedicated to the goddess Athena, whom the people of Athens considered their patron. Construction began in 447 BC when the Athenian Empire was at the peak of its power
The Theatre of Dionysus Eleuthereus is a major theatre in Athens, considered to be the world's first theatre, built at the foot of the Athenian Acropolis.
The Temple of Athena Nike is a temple on the Acropolis of Athens, dedicated to the goddess Athena Nike. Built around 420 BC, the temple is the earliest fully Ionic temple on the Acropolis
A propylaea, propylea or propylaia is any monumental gateway in ancient Greek architecture. The prototypical Greek example is the propylaea that serves as the entrance to the Acropolis in Athens.
The Acropolis Museum is an archaeological museum focused on the findings of the archaeological site of the Acropolis of Athens. The museum was built to house every artifact found on the rock and on the surrounding slopes, from the Greek Bronze Age to Roman and Byzantine Greece
The Odeon of Herodes Atticus is a stone theatre structure located on the southwest slope of the Acropolis of Athens, Greece. The building was completed in 161 AD and then renovated in 1950.
The Erechtheion or Erechtheum is an ancient Greek temple on the north side of the Acropolis of Athens in Greece which was dedicated to both Athena and Poseidon

Amazing!! Anni was a wealth of knowledge! She was a prefect guide to a world we learn so much more about. Would do this again!’
Mr. Stelios shared his impressively deep knowledge of Greek history, archeology, art and politics in an engaging and fun manner. Facts and figures were always interwoven with an insightful narrative that brought the history of the sites we visited to life. We were promised a 4 hour tour of the Acropolis and its museum, but were treated to nearly five hours. Extremely pleased.
Our guide was a great teacher. So glad we planned for late afternoon and missed most of the crowds. The museum was very quite. Our dinner was included and was fair. The wine was delicious after a long hike up and down the Acropolis.
Anastasia was wonderful Pleasant new her history and fun. Would recommend. saved waiting in long lines
Giota was very knowledgeable, friendly and trustworthy. She showed us Athens in the most genuine way. I would recommend anyone seeking an amazing experience of Athens with this tour.
Our guide Helena (sp) was great! You learn so much more with a guide. We really enjoyed the tour. The dinner was fine but was stated as a restaurant for dinner with view of Parthenon at end of tour. The roof patio of the restaurant we were brought do did not face the Acropolis. Unless there was a second roof patio and they sat us wrong, this tour description is inaccurate and we would not have bought with the dinner based on what we got. Grateful for a great tour with our guide
Fantastic tour! My guide was knowledgeable and I learned so much. The places to see, stop and learn were amazing. The museum is beautiful and loved the lunch! I would do this tour again.
Our tour guide Hermes was amazing, he was very personable and his expertise was beyond compare. He met us at our hotel which allowed us to walk the streets getting a brief history lesson before reaching the Acropolis. We had a wonderful lunch after at a rooftop restaurant, it was included with the tour. Worth the cost!
Our tour guide, Grigoriou, was outstanding. His knowledge of history was extensive and he took the time to explain so many details about what we were seeing. He purposely started with the Museum so he could familiarize us with the authentic pieces of the monuments that were on display before we saw the replicas on the Acropolis. He stopped along the way up to the Acropolis to tell us once again what the historical importance was about everything we saw, and ensured he did so under the shade of trees to shield us from the heat. We ended the tour with a delicious 6 course meal that featured dishes from all over Greece (and a delicious glass of wine). A great tour!
Poor ! Do not book Did not receive my tickets and try to call their operator 10 times but nobody answered. Had the same issue for a previous booking and took me several calls to sort it out. I am sure I have paid more in calls than tickets . Ridiculous!
Maria the guide was very good. she was able to explain all about the Acropolis in a way that we were able to understand and with some humour. The restaurant was excellent and the food enjoyable.
Katarina was very knowledgeable of the Acropolis and highlighted special exhibits in the museum. She provided frequent breaks which was appreciated in the hot/dry conditions. The restaurant provided a complete and surprisingly good lunch afterwards.
It was a fascinating and an educational experience for our family. Our guide was very knowledgeable and personable. She was funny and super nice which made it extra special. Since we didn't book the dinner with the tour, she showed us which restaurants were great. I highly recommend this tour!
We highly enjoyed this tour. Stelio, our amazing guide, provided a lot of interesting details and made it very enjoyable, even for my 14 year old daughter and despite of the variety of topics that are covered. We came to Athens just to visit the Acropolis and learn about Ancient Greece. This tour fully satisfied our objective and I strongly recommend it! Thank you!
Tour and dinner wonderful. Very crowded and hot but we managed. Recommend on documents put meeting time as I had to call for start time. Tour identified as full day with dinner but I felt it wasn't a full day as advertised.
Yiota was wonderful. She was pleasant patient took time to explain everything. She met us at the right time and made everything look smooth.
This was a very nice, thorough tour. Rosa was a very good guide. Great tour to start off our visit to Greece.
We took the private tour (for just the two us) to see the historic sites of the Acropolis and the nearby museum. Our guide Alexandria was outstanding. She was extremely knowledgeable (she's an archeologist), had a very pleasant and friendly personality and spoke English well. The tour was several hours with lots of walking so it's not for those with limited physical abilities. After the tour, we were escorted to a lovely quiet restaurant for dinner.
What a wonderful afternoon. Stelios, our guide, was amazing. He was a font a information. Without him the Acropolis would have been just a bunch of stones and a few old buildings. He explained the history, chronology, and meaning of each element of the site. Then, on to the museum where, again, he brought the material alive with great insights and details. He ended up spending more time with us than planned, which was super. He made the site and museum come alive for us. This private tour was our favorite of our time in Athens. Finally, the dinner was at a decent place and a fine way to end our evening. This is a definite must do tour, especially if you can get Stelios, who is a university trained archeologist.

Rose our tour guide was lovely. The tickets to the Acropolis that she had, had expired and poor Rose had to buy new ones for the company out of her own pocket. Note: even international students get a discount. She walked us to the Restaurant and after being greeted as a voucher customer, we felt like unwanted guests. The view was that of the Elevator entrance better view from our motel restaurant Positives: the food was great and the wait staff were helpful and efficient. Overall i felt it was an expensive option.

We had 2 days in Athens and wanted to see the highlights with 3 kids. This tour was perfect combination of info and history in the museum first and then Acropolis. The dinner afterwards was also a real treat— authentic Greek food everyone loved.

Great tour! Marissa was very knowledgeable and answered all questions that I asked. I would definitely recommend.

We ended up with a private tour because no one else showed up. Our tour guide was great. Very knowledgable. The museum was nice. The Greek dinner was just okay. Honestly, for the price we paid, I expected a better dinner.

We had a tour guide, Daphne, all to ourselves. She was wonderful. She took very good care of us since we are in our sixties, taking her time as we ascended the stairs and making sure we took care not to slip on the marble steps. She was very knowledgeable and sweet. Afterwards we had a wonderful dinner at a quaint little restaurant with plenty of delicious food to eat and wine to drink. We were so full we could barely fit in the scrumptuous dessert. We also had a nice view of the lit up Parthenon in the evening.

A bucket list tour for me. The tour was excellent and well worth the extra price to have a private guide. Because it was a private tour, we were able to ask a lot of questions and linger at areas we were interested in, rather than be rushed along with a group. The museum is beautiful and the exhibits are wonderful. Our guide was very knowledgeable and personable. Most importantly, she was kind. I had spine fusion surgery four months prior to the tour. My goal was to be able to climb to the top of the Acropolis. It was extremely difficult for me and took a very long time. More than once I was nearly in tears and certain that I wouldn't make it. She was my champion, encouraging me, letting me stop to rest - and she never looked impatient. I can't thank her enough. Going to the Acropolis is something I have wanted to do all my life. Thank you so much for a wonderful day!

My wife and I spent the last afternoon of our nine-day Mediterranean vacation touring the Acropolis and the New Acropolis Museum with a private guide who was extremely knowledgeable about ancient Greek culture, their philosophy and architecture. Having studied Greek architecture a bit in college and having visited many ancient sites while on this vacation, our guide provided with new information and insights we did not expect. She was able to guide us efficiently through the museum, which deserves more than a couple of hours, but with limited time, this was the best immersion into the history and sites we wanted to get exposed to. We had a little miscommunication about the start time which was quickly addressed after a short call to the Athens Walk Tour Company who provided our guide. At the end of the tour, the finale of our trip was dinner overlooking the Acropolis at night and was a experience that exceeded our expectations.

Our guide Mariza shared with us her love, knowledge, and enthusiasm, about Greece, Athens, Acropolis, Parthenon, Greek mythology, and classical time technology. We were very pleased to meet her and learn a lot about her beautiful country. She is very nice and friendly person. Thank you Mariza, very much! The restaurant has nice view on Acropolis it locates on the roof and the food was OK.

Maria, our guide, was a well educated young woman who could tell an old couple the details of Ancient Greece and the cultural maturation without totally confusing us. Very accommodating and helpful to me. I am disabled, and Maria made sure that I was able to appreciate the beauty and progression .

Excellent way to see the Acropolis and the Museum and be introduced to Greek history. Our guide, Anna was wonderful with her stories of Greek history and mythology. We could tell Anna was extremely passionate and knowledgeable through her storytelling. The Greek dinner was lovely with nice staff and in a great location overlooking the Acropolis. Myself, my husband and our 14 year old son thoroughly enjoyed the tour.

There were seven of us on a family trip. Our guide was great and very engaging. I think her name started with an M. I am sorry I don't recall because she was terrific. She is also the first guide I have ever had that refused to accept a gratuity - and she certainly deserved one!! The dinner was also very nice with a good nighttime view of the Acropolis. There was too much yes, too much food, however, and I felt bad that we were not able to come close to finishing all that was served to us.

My wife and I were the only ones on this tour so we had the wonderful guide Annie to ourseleves. Really great tour of the Acropolis and museum. Food at the restaurant was nice and the staff were friendly, but we and other organised tour customers were seated with a very poor view of the stair well.

This private tour of the Acropolis and Acropolis Museum with Greek dinner was excellent. Our tour guide, Rosa, was very knowledgeable and personable. She told a story of Greek history and Greek mythology using the museum artifacts and the Acropolis to illustrate the topic. Rosa was very informative and you could sense she enjoyed what she was sharing.

And the dinner was excellent. It was a prix fixe meal but there were enough options for all and it was all delicious. Also, our dinner was on a rooftop restaurant that had the Acropolis in its view. You could watch the sun go down and the Acropolis light up.What a night!

It was kind of expensive , but then it was only 2 of us in the end and guide with extraordinary knowledge who is a art director and an archaeologist himself you can expect high quality of information and thats what we got when we visted museum and the acropolis , he clicked our pictures too, and the dinner in the evening was very good as well , specially the Lamb.

Wow what a great experience with our guide Edie! She knows so much about everything we saw. We could have done it by ourselves and missed so much of the story. She also engaged our 15 year old son which is not easy. Evening tour is the best time the marble of the acropolis was glowing.

On our final afternoon/evening in Greece w took the Viator Exclusive Tour: Acropolis of Athens New Acropolis Museum and Greek Dinner. We met Thanasis who is an archaeologist, historian, philosopher, actor, exceptional teacher and passionate citizen of Greece! Wow, the impressive credentials were only surpassed by Thanasis's ability to transfer his passion and knowledge! This tour was the grande finale of our final day/evening in Greece! I highly recommend!!! The entire family of four (Me, my husband and 19/24 year old daughters) give this a 5 star plus! We knew the Acropolis would be amazing but we had no idea how crazy, unbelievable the Acropolis Museum would be! Thanasis brought the exhibits alive for us in a way that would have never happened on our own. I learned about the genius of Phidias, the artichect and sculpture overseeing the construction of the Acropolis. I was also enlightened to learn the damage and theft to Parthenon caused by the greed of Thomas Bruce, the 7th Earl of Elgin in 1801. I vote for the British Museum to give the Parthenon Marbles back to the people of Greece!!!! When Thanasis learned that our daughter was a professional Actor he took us to the Theather of Dionysos where it all started. He directed a short Greek Tragedy with our family as the cast! We certainly had a great laugh! We enjoyed dinner on the roof top of Attikos Geek House. We did not get a view of the Acropolis as stated in the overview of the tour. When we asked to be seated where we would have a view of the Acropolis the Resturant informed us the seating area with a view was for guest w reservations. Since I purchased the tour two months in advance I was confused. Nevertheless, we had a wonderful evening and throughly enjoyed the tour!

Simply AMAZING! Our guide was fantastic sorry, his card is at home and I cannot remember his name and spent so much time with us. He truly appreciated the history and shared so many insights and ideas with us. The dinner was also fantastic, but they did try to only serve us a glass of wine, rather than the bottle of wine that the tour included, so watch that. I would highly recommend this tour and will update with the guide's name because you should ask for him!

Our guide was marvelous and very helpful in adjusting our visit to meet our expectation and schedule. She has a lovely way of telling the history of the monuments with a bit of humor and even a little mystery. Her enthusiasm for the site is infection and we were spellbound as we learned of the details of this marvelous place. The pace of the tour was great and we were given every opportunity to explore.
Our Greek dinner afterwards was lovely and concluded a very special day in Athens. To have a private tour of the Acropolis is truly priceless!

Anna was an amazing tour guide who clearly loved sharing information and insights about Ancient Greece. We would most highly recommend this tour if she is to be your guide. Meal was good, but the tour was definitely the piece of this package we will always remember.

Our guide was wonderful and thoughtful about our wishes. The Acropolis was spectacular and the museum was fantastic too. If you go to the Acropolis, don't miss the museum, the history it houses is incredible. Our dinner was great, food was excellent and ambience was perfect. We would definitely recommend this tour and restaurant.

This tour was amazing! Marisa was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable and funny. She had no problems answering all our questions, and her great personality makes the tour so much fun. We had a great time, and learned a lot along the way. Definitely recommend this tour if you'll be in Athens. The acropolis is magical plus you get stunning views of the city, and visiting the museum is a great combo. Highly recommend!

Amazing tour. The guide Anna was highly professional and knowledgeable about the subject matter. Learned so much that I would have missed without the tour. She maintained a high level of energy throughout the entire visit and also shared a lot about Greek life and society beyond the content of the tour. Dinner was perfect too. Highly recommended for both a quick stopover in Athens or a longer stay.

Wonderful tour with a very knowledgeable tour guide who made sure she let others know that our tour was private! Fantastic dinner afterward at Attikos restaurant.

Thanasos was an excellent guide and the experience was unforgettable. Without his historical/philosophical/theatrical commentary the visit would not have come alive as it did. A little more time at the museum would have been good. The restaurant Manh Manh was a wonderful culmination to our day. Highly recommended.

Our guide was very knowledgable. She made history come alive for us. The dinner was very good with an amazing view of the Acropolis.

Fantastic tour with wonderful and knowledgeable tour guide Effie. Recommend for people with a strong interest in art and history. The dinner was so delicious also.

This was the most fantastic tour we have ever been on. Mariza,, the guide really made it for us. Bringing stories from years ago, to life. She is a true asset to Viator. Thank you. Thoroughly recommend. X

This was the best way to see the Acropolis. Our tour guide Sophia was great. You could tell she was passionate about the history and information she was presenting. Not like taking a robotic guide tour, she customized for the things we seemed most interested in. To top it off dinner was amazing.

Love, love, love this tour! Our guide was Greek and and an archeologist, so his knowledge of the history of Greece was very impressive. We went through the New Acropolis Museum first, which let the crowds and heat die down at the Acropolis. We spent about 2 hours touring the Museum. Once we got to the Acropolis, the crowds had thinned, and our guide took some really cool photos of us with the city and Parthenon. The dinner was EXCELLENT! One of the best we had during our time in Greece. This tour is worth the extra money if you're interested in history and want a real conversation with your guide, instead of someone just talking at you.
