Andrea, our tour guide, was a professional delight...knowledgeable, clearly spoken, and responsive to questions. A winner.

We had a very informative and engaging guide, Margaret, who showed us the highlights of the New Acropolis Museum in Athens. The meeting place was easy to find in the Plaka area and it was just about a 5 minute walk from there to the museum.
Very informative tour with an excellent guide. Highlighted and explained well the important aspects of the museum
This was a great small group tour of the museum. Our guide (Margaret?) was super knowledgeable and moved the tour at a very good pace. So much detail would have been lost without her guidance and explanation, which helped us appreciate the museum. We are a family of 4 (girls are 17 and 20) and we all felt this was an excellent experience. The company contacted us prior to the tour to confirm logistics for meeting, etc, and communicated very clearly.
Margaret was a great tour guide. There is an overwhelming amount to see in the museum, and a guide put it all together and explained it all so well. Gorgeous museum
It was useful that I did it a day before my tour of the Acropolis. It helped me picture the artifacts in place.
Great museum of artifacts. Tour guide was ok but had some poor equipment and had some issues with hearing.
I was disappointed with this tour. The guide's accent was quite difficult for me to understand, but more importantly, the delivery lacked energy and enthusiasm. It felt like she was simply reading from a script rather than engaging with the group. I honestly think I would have learned more by using the museum's free audio guide or reading the exhibit descriptions.
This 1 1/2 hour tour is perfect amount of time for the museum. Our Guide Deppy was so knowledgeable about everything in the museum and the Ancient Greek times. She knew a lot about the Acropolis, the different statues and greek gods. Felt like I was back in high school (LOL) Amazing how they could build these statues and Parthenon back 3000 years ago. Definitely worth seeing. Not a lot of walking so a moderate activity.
Eva was a wonderful tour guy. The meeting point was easy and seamless. The checking process was easy. Eva was such a kind and knowledgeable guide. You can totally tell she is very passionate about the subject matter and was more than eager to share with the group.
Super worth it. Our guide, Sophia, was extremely knowleadgeable and she was very kind. She clearly knew a lot about the museum's content and Athens' history. It was also very worth it to get the context of the exhibition items, complemented perfectly the self-service content available.
Our tour guide Christina was fantastic. She was extremely knowledgeable, probably has a degree in Greek history. Made everyone feel welcome and included. Would highly recommend this guided tour to gain the extra knowledge conveyed by our scholarly guide.
Eva gave us the most brilliant tour of the Acropolis Museum and we got so much more out of the museum thanks to her. She is an excellent historian, hugely knowledgeable, and guided us expertly through all the highlights. She was able to communicate with all ages on our tour, including keen historians as well as children, and she was utterly charming too. Thank you Eva for your time (you were very generous staying longer than you were required to in order to answer our questions) and your expertise. We are so pleased that we took this tour.
We needed a midtour break. Sitting down and enjoying the experience for 10-15 minutes at a unique spot would have helped.
a truly enjoyable tour of the Acropolis Museum! The guide was kind, engaging, and full of fascinating information. I learned so much and had a wonderful experience.
It’s an informative and helpful orientation of an impressive collection. Our guide was very informative and well prepared..
Our guide had a wonderful amount of detail and history to really give us more knowledge of ancient Athens and Greek society. As a plus- she was pretty funny!
I learned so much on this tour. I was glad to go to the museum first to understand more about Greek history before going to the Acropolis. The tour group worked very hard to help me gain entry to this fabulous tour of the museum and the Acropolis. I so appreciate it.
My guide was very knowledgeable & personable. Enjoyed the tour very much! The museum was laid out well & fantastic! Great time.
Our tour guide was very funny and energetic. It was nice to learn more about the pieces in the museum versus read the labels or listen to an audio guide. I recommend going to the museum before your visit to Acropolis for better understanding.
Once in a while you meet a tour guide who is capable of painting in words a vivid picture of a time and place from long-long ago. The Acropolis Museum is impressive; however, with a passionate and knowledgeable guide, the museum comes alive with wonder and understanding. YOU GET IT! You understand the who and why of the ancient Greeks. So thank you for helping us GET the Acropolis and GET the time, people, and society from long-long ago. Highly recommeded.
Very interesting exhibits and an excellent guide from Athens Walking Tours. Ties in beautifully with the Acropolis itself
Must see museum after you visit the Acropolis and Parthenon. Tour guide was very informative and helpful on pointing out high spots ( Carytids) and explaining design of museum. Many amazing artifacts.
We visited the Acropolis Museum as parents with our two young adult children and had an excellent guided tour. Dimitris, our guide, was excellent - knowledgeable, engaging and able to bring the exhibits to life. He highlighted key pieces and explained their significance, giving us far more than we would have discovered on our own. Confirmation that doing an organised tour is well worth it. Much better than going through the museum unguided. The 1¼-hour length was perfect - I had worried it might feel too short, but it was just right. We visited the museum before going up to the Acropolis, which I highly recommend, as it gave us an excellent overview of what to look out for once we were there.
Margarita was simply fantastic. The way in which she conducted the tour brought everything we were seeing 'alive'. Her enthusiasm and love of the many incredible sculptures was contagious. My museum reluctant partner thanked me for booking it and agreed that it was the highlight of our short stay in Athens. The museum is breathtaking and should not be missed. We learnt a lot and will remember this tour for a long time to come.
Margarita was great. Her English was great, and her love of her homeland and its history was very evident. My wife and I visited the museum on our own two years ago, but missed so much. Having Margarita as a guide made the experience so much richer.
Margaret was a wonderful guide. So engaging, knowledgeable and passionate about Greek history. We loved the tour!
My wife and I had a pleasant 1.5 hour tour of the Acropolis Museum. Sophia was very knowledgeable, and the time spent was enough to get a good background of Ancient Greece.
Fantastic tour -- so glad I did this. Had been to Athens before but hadn't seen this museum. Andra was very knowledgeable and personable; loved hearing the stories and history-- it was truly fascinating! Didn't want the tour to end!!
Andra was fabulous guide. Highly recommend! Wish tour tour was a little longer in duration but plenty of time to finish on our own.
Our guide was very informed and made the tour of the museum very interesting . We only did the acropolis museum part since we had visited the site the day before. I recommend visiting the museum first and then going to the acropolis. That way you will be better able to appreciate the monuments you are seeing
Did two tours with this company. Highly recommend. The communication was great and having someone take you through the museum was helpful. There too much to see to complete and the crowds were insane.
We were unable to find the guide. There was no way to reach out to the person. The directions to find the guide were in adequate. When I take Viator, they reach out to me they help none of this happened I would like a refund .. I did not do tour
We really enjoyed the tour with Dionysus! He was full of wonderful facts and his enthusiasm for the museum was infectious. He told wonderful stories about different artifacts. He kept us on schedule and we really enjoyed our experience. We were tired after a long day walking around the Acropolis in the early morning and around town at some of the other sites, yet we were energized at the Acropolis Museum to learn a whole lot more. We met nearby and walked to the museum together. We really enjoyed our time with Dionysus and highly recommend him as a tour guide.
It was recommended that we visit the museum prior to visiting the Acropolis, and I am so glad we took this advice. This tour helped to make sense of what could’ve been an overwhelming visit to a beautiful and very informational museum. Viator did advertise that the cost of the museum tickets were 15€ per person. However, upon arriving at our meeting point, the tour operator charged 20€ per person, which is the actual price of the tickets at the museum door. I don’t think the tour operator was taking advantage of us. Rather I think Viator’s cost that was posted was incorrect.
The guide (Martha?) was very competent and clear. Check out the Lego block model of the Acropolis - very cool! The museum restaurant, however, was very expensive; just go outside when you're done and grab something wonderfully sweet at The Alchemist (on the side of the museum away from the Acropolis; Chatzichristou 8, Athens).
The museum is amazing! Having a tour guide like Jordan to point out and explain the must-see artifacts is extremely helpful. Jordan demonstrated he's very versed in Greek history, mythology and the layout and contents of the museum. Only issue was he was running late from a previous tour and therefore had to speed through our tour to get to his next tour. Maybe a bit too much on his plate. Our tour was very good but very rushed. After Jordan ended our tour, we spent another 45-60 minutes going back through several portions of the museum, at a slower pace, to satisfy our curiosity.
The overview of the museum was good. The host was knowledgeable and patient with the group. I would recommend this tour. One suggestion the meeting location was challenging. The museum would be a better location.
We had an excellent time. Do not try to do this on your own. Absolutely need to book a tour. There’s a lot of information that was given to us from Anna. She was so much fun. She had this great bright red hair so we could follow easily Go early in the morning as early as possible not only beat the heat but beat the crowds She knew where to stop always found a little private spot to talk to us and so therefore it never seemed like an exhausting and difficult walk A wonderful area to see there’s more than just the Parthenon obviously and and iAnna took a lot of care to make sure we were all together and understood everything HIGHLY recommend this tour It was just fantastic.
We had difficulty finding the starting location and were 25 minutes late. We sent a text message to Viator and eventually our guide showed up. Tina did a great job of explaining many of the artifacts found from the Acropolis. I’m glad we didn’t miss the tour.
This is a great tour. Go early in the morning to avoid crowds. I highly recommend Vickie. She is an expert.
Fabulous tour of the museum! Dionysus was amazing! He was very knowledgeable, friendly, and made the tour very enjoyable!
I had only one full day in Athens, so decided to pay a little extra for a guided tour of the Acropolis. With our guide, Niobe, I got so much more out of the experience than I would have by just walking around on my own. Niobe is very knowledgeable and obviously has a passion for the subject. In fact, the tour -- advertised as 90 minutes -- wound up being closer to 2.5 hours. It was great to not feel rushed! Afterwards, I emailed the company with a question about the Agora (which wasn't even part of my tour) and they quickly got back with an answer.
Dont recommend- very superficial knowledge and shorter than expected. I was very excited and disappointed about the end. I almost learned nothing interesting
Our guide was very knowledgable, but we weren’t able to really look around the museum like we would have on our own. It would have been better to just go on our own without a guide. By the time the tour was done, we didn’t have time to walk around more. I would say just go on your own and read the signs.
This was superb. Our guide was excellent, well paced, knowledgeable and a great communicator. It was so much richer than either going alone or the self paced audio ( which I did as well). The museum itself is beautiful. Gorgeous architecture and cleverly curated. I love that the top floor is structured to replicate the dimensions of the Parthenon ( our guide told me that!) The company allows you to stay on after the tour and that’s also worthwhile so allow yourself that time. The restaurant is also terrific. We had afternoon tea there- good food and a beautiful view. Not too expensive. You need to take euros to pay for the entrance fee - the company gets the tickets for you so it’s fast track but easy to miss in the fine print! So well organised and a total highlight in a special city. Thoroughly recommend this. Thank you.
The guide was good and gave a nice overview of the museum. Three of us did just the museum tour, having done the Acropolis etc. tour previously. I would recommend staying longer afterwards, but unfortunately we were too jet-lagged. The museum was crowded; if I was going to do it again I would have gone earlier. The largest problem was that we had to wait quite a while for the guide and the rest of the group (who had just toured the Acropolis etc.) to arrive from their first half of their tour. There was a person for the tour company who kept us organized, got us our tickets, and stayed with us until the guide showed up. One suggestion is to make it clear in the listing that the museum tickets are purchased (separately at the museum, in cash) from the tour company (at no extra cost). I had to clarify a few things through emails, which were answered promptly.
Tina was our guide and she was amazing. I am a docent for the Smithsonian Museum, and I know what makes an excellent guide.
Our guide took her time going through the various exhibita and gave a lot of detail on everything. She told us stories and answered questions. It was a nice tour.
Our guide Dimitri was outstanding. He was clearly passionate and knowledgeable and gave many insights that would not have been possible to gain by visiting the museum without him.
