With spotty wifi audio guide was useless. It would have been better with head sets that picked up description when you stood in front of items. Large tour groups monopolized smaller items making it hard for individuals. Pretty boring and a waste of time best part was the subterranean city model they constructed. We skipped the walk up to the Acropolis too steep for seniors in our party.

Itinerary
Experience the riveting journey of the city’s transition to democracy as you admire the exhibits of the Archaic Gallery. Weaving around monsters, heroes, gods and iconic representations of the human body, you’ll follow the evolution of ancient art fueled by an exciting storytelling concept. Continuing to the next floor, in the Parthenon Gallery, you’ll get straight into the heart of the Parthenon and see the narrative of the Panathenaic Procession, pieced together on the frieze of the temple, coming alive. Engrossing tales from Greek Mythology depicted on the metopes and pediments of the temple, such as the birth of goddess Athena and the battle of the Centaurs, will fire up your imagination. Your tour ends with Propylaia, Athena Nike & Erechtheion Gallery presenting the culminating age of Greek style, the classical period, and some of the most famed artworks of Ancient Athens, including the iconic Caryatids, the curvaceous maidens who have witnessed the turbulent 2.500-year story of the Acropolis and are waiting to share it with you.

The museum was very nice and informative regarding the Ancient Greek culture. The artifacts contained in the museum were appropriately displayed. It was a bit crowded with other people at the time of our visit, making the experience seem a bit hurried, but we were free to move about at our own discretion. Overall, it was a positive and informative experience.
Perfect guide if you want to walk through the museum at your leisure. The app download was immediate and simple.
Informative but not very interesting. Didn’t listen to the whole thing. We felt it was a waste of money and wish we would’ve just bought a regular museum ticket and just read the plaques about the items we were most interested in.
The museum was fantastic and must not be missed. The displays are beautifully presented and the continuing excavation before you enter is fascinating
We loved the audio tour and the museum! It was amazing and imtresting. A guid is not necessary when you use this audio guide
Getting to the Museum and not having tickets. Had to text and call to get them so we could enter. Had paid for the audio but did not get it!
My wife and I toured the museum at the end of our travels. We had prebooked the tickets with the audio guide program online . We were not able to download the entrance tickets until the prior evening. The instructions were not very good. First we had to download an app and sign up. We then looked for this booking but it did not show up. I texted the tour operator and in a while our trip showed up in the app. There is no human guide but we were hopeful about the audio guide. Perhaps we were not patient enough but after about 10 minutes listening to it at the museum we gave up using it. We should have just gone with the museum’s audio guide. The museum itself was quite interesting.
Navigation of the system could use a bit of simplification-if tickets can be downloaded without need to go to redemption center , make clear to customers that they can take ticket right to museum entrance. I had to contact customer support to clarify this.
The Acropolis Museum was beautiful. Very interesting history. It was very clean inside the building.
This is an amazing museum for kids 10 and up. My daughter loves Greek history and mythology and she was in heaven. The restoration to the sites on the Acropolis is amazing. A must see in Athens. Tip: If you do not get the tickets in your US email in-box, just call the number. Because of data privacy, the tour company sometimes does not get US email addresses.
The audio was annoying!!! Enjoyed the museum but not the audio Would have rather had a personal guide.
I would highly recommend this tour, especially if you will be touring the Acropolis. Very informative. The museum is amazing. We only had a couple of hours, so we were not able to see everything. I would have loved to spend more time there. The underground area was amazing.
This museum great! We went right when it opened and it was so nice having the place to ourselves for about an hour before it got super busy. There is a lot to see and you can even go underground to the old housing site. We did this before seeing the Parthenon and it was great to hear some history before the trek.
The tour was well worth the money spent because you could take it at your own pace and skip sections if needed. I would recommend this tour in addition to an actual tour of the Acropolis and Parthenon We went through at a faster pace and enjoyed the ease of admittance into the museum
Self tour was worth the price and it allows you to go on your own time and pace. We got lost a few times but was able to find our way after a few tries.
The tour itself was great, but performing the necessary steps to get the tickets and tour downloaded was definitely not. Instructions and needed links weren’t sent to me until the day before, when I was out sightseeing. I waited until I was back in the hotel, which has excellent wifi, to download the tickets, download a new (required) app, etc. Unfortunately, it wouldn’t work, there is no technical help after 4 pm, and the required app gets only 2 stars in the app store! So I wasn’t even sure if I was going to be able to take the tour until I was able to reach technical support the next day, and of course I had wasted considerable time turning my phone on and off, deleting and reloading the app, etc. Once I finally got everything working it was a good tour, but choosing this way to see the museum added considerable and unneeded stress to our trip.
The ease of entrance into the museum. Then, the audio presentations as we moved about the museum. One final thought. On the third floor of the museum are two video presentations. We highly recommend a first time visitor go to the third floor and view these two presentations first! Then your visit to the museum will make a lot better sense.
This purchase proved to be incredibly worthwhile! My children, aged 12 and 13, thoroughly enjoyed the guided tour. Thanks to the tour's accessibility on their cellphones, they were able to navigate the museum effortlessly based on the provided instructions. Despite the crowd, the skip-the-line tickets swiftly ushered us to the bag checkpoint within the museum premises. The guide offered accurate and descriptive accounts of the history and stories, which captivated our interest throughout the tour.
Excellent museum; well worth two or three hours, if not more. Don't miss the archaeological site located in the open-air pavilion beneath the museum -- it's fascinating, and included in your ticket (or is it even free? I don't remember).
Easy entrance and clear audio guidance Language was timed wll We certainly enjoyed this museum and the easy process
Incredible museum filled with acropolis history. Highly recommend it. Since the museum is focused on the acropolis archeological findings, you will learn everything about the architectural and historical significance of all the ancient buildings
I only recommend this tour if you are looking to spend a strong half day in the museum. The audio doesnt cover every exhibit, but covers enough to keep you moving. It also gives directions to each piece its detailing, which was very helpful to us. Originally we were let to believe we could do this tour in about 2 hrs, but there was no way. Be prepared to spend most of the day here, and if you're not a museum person who wants to spend hours looking at chunks of rock and marble, you may want to pass. If it still sounds good, another positive was even though the description of the items may be short, the audio gave lots of other information. So for instance, if you were looking at a statue of Athena, after the brief description of the statue, the audio would go on for a couple of minutes to talk about Athena in general and what she and her temples meant and represented to the Greeks.
The museum. Not the audio part, though:(( bad instructions and distracting from the overall exhibits!
Wonderful museum The app did not work. Could not get the audio to work. U don’t need it. Just go read the explanations for all the exhibits or go on one of the museum tours.
The museum is amazing and it was good to skip the line but I could not get the audio tour to work. Was able to read the tour but it did take away from the experience
Getting fast access to enter the museum was the only advantage. After that, there was no benefit to having the audio tour. The guidance and map were poorly laid out and there was no easy way to connect the audio with what I was looking at. I should have purchased the audio tour offered by the museum.
The Acropolis Museum is really a beautiful space that would have been overwhelming had we not opted for this Viator Skip the Line and Audio Tour package. We had a great time exploring the museum. It was also nice to be able to stop the tour and have lunch at the Museum Restaurant to recharge a bit.
Ticket got us right in, no line, no wait. Enjoyed the audio descriptions. The directions really helped moving from item to item.
Museum is worth the visit. However, it's not a full day, 3 hours at the most but they have a nice restaurant where you can chill for a little while.
Well there literally WAS NO EXPERIENCE. I paid for 4 people, only 2 of us were able to fully download the information. Two of us could not complete the download. The two who were successful HAD NO AUDIO. The download link is only sent 24 hr in advance and guess what… we were traveling and going on other tours so couldn’t attempt the download until we were actually there. SO disappointed and frustrated. I wrote to Clio Muse and they are only refunding a small fraction of what I paid. DON’T book this tour. If you go early in the morning the museum has amazing audio sets that you can borrow for free.
Too long descriptions for too few exhibits. We skipped the audio after 1 hour. It was easy to spot main highlights and read about them
The printed and audio guide on the phone really enhances the museum experience which is also superb and not to be missed.
The museum was very interesting and well worth visiting. The audio went into a lot of detail. A fabulous building.
Amazing artifacts in a cool (air conditioned) modern building! I suggest doing the guided Walking Tour of the Acropolis before visiting the museum.
I definitely recommend an audioguide. It is full of important information in a concise manner, and the instructions are clear and correct. One and half hours went in a flash. The museum is spacious, so exhibits can be appreciated in detail. Apart from very small children, it is suitable for everyone.
it was a good audiotour. it is less expensive than a guided tour. You can do it on your own time and speed.
This audio tour was very helpful in explaining various items in the museum and helping to direct us the correct way through. It took us a bit to develop a method, ie. pausing the audio to study other exhibits, but once we got a pattern the audio was good. We had some difficulties in downloading to one of our phones, but ClioMuse Tours were more than helpful via phone, text and email in helping us out. They have great communication and were very responsive.
We were at the Acropolis in September 2019 and used the skip-the-line ticket which I couldn't recommend more. The audio tour was pretty good as well, not the best I've heard but definitely worth the low price and ease of use. We went toward middle to late afternoon, so it was less hot and less crowded than it would have been otherwise. Would definitely recommend!
Impresionante museo y sus colecciones. Me encantó las Cariátides y el Partenón. Complementé la visita a la Acrópolis con esta visita al Museo.
Nice museum. Explanations are only on a few rooms in the rooms. There are several statues that did not correspond to the room indicated. A room on Egyptian mythology was missing.
Muy interesante excursión y un servicio excelente la entrada fue muy fácil y rápida, tienen casilleros donde poner las pertenencias un bello museo
OK to buy the tickets in advance: it is convenient and very useful and easy to use. On the other hand, selling the audio guide is a scam, because it does not work! 2 my wife and myself. For me nothing worked from the beginning, a message saying "failed" contact the administrator on the smartphone, who did nothing despite our repeated changes by email to report the problem. For my wife, the audio started well but at the second monument, nothing. No sound, no reading. Eventually we paid for a Service we didn't get. I asked for a refund but have had no answer since!!!! It smells like scam! So I strongly advise to settle for the entries and a good old paper guide, at least you will get your money's worth and keep calm to admire this site as it deserves!
