I appreciated the accessibility options (wheelchair provided and elevator access) for those with mobility issues. There were hood signs in Greek and in English and explaining the displays (not so in the rest of Athens). We especially enjoyed the archeological dig under the museum which is included with your pass.

Got us into the museum without standing line. Perfect.
Uneven terrain but wife and I are in our 70"s and we made it just fine. There were plenty of breaks and our guide took his time getting us to the summit. The Parthenon and other temples were spectacular and the views of Athens were incredible. Loved this tour.
Very interesting, a must for any visitor in Greece. Very well put out. Very good explanations A monument in itself
You took my money for tickets that I didn’t use Despite making efforts to cancel pre the booking You ignored me Dreadful and disingenuous
We had trouble locating the place to redeem our tickets and getting into the museum. And the staff was not very helpful.
This museum is first class. From passing through the entrance your interest in captured and held until the final upper level floor . Each exhibit is clearly described and throughout are brief descriptions of the history and culture of Athens and the acropolis. Even below the museum is a thought provoking excavation of Roman buildings. I consider this to be a well structured and descriptive museum that demonstrates the history of the acropolis from initial build through its troubled times to today’s restoration. I would state however that anyone visiting should try to get there really early as it is very popular.
Lovely building Good museum Nice and cool Good restaurant with a lovely view Very busy museum Not worth booking in advance - the walk-in had a shorter queue and much cheaper than the online booking via the App
Cool museum, worth a visit. Recommend going to see it
One of a kind treasures. Definitely make your way to the top floor. Amazing museum worth everyone's time. Not to be missed.
Great at your own pace and very quick to get in and explore without waiting—we started around 11am so good timing before it became very congested.
Good experience! The viator team is very helpful.
This museum is a must. The audio tour/guide was spectacular. I suggest selecting the entire audio tour and then skipping to the audio spots you are interested in. It was difficult to find some of the exhibits on the shortened tours. Don’t miss out on the ground floor excavation site!
An epic museum in an epic setting with great facilities. We had large bags and flowing through security and into the store was seamless. Giving us free hands to explore and learn. Tickets came through instantly and all went to plan.
The Museum is essential to the understanding of the entire Acropolis visit and experience. You should try to do the Museum before the Acropolis if possible. Either way it is essential to do both to fully appreciate this place.
Beautiful museum with descriptions on each item explaining what we were viewing. Also excellent food in the museum restaurant.
Only received voucher never received tickets did not get the PDF and was not able to get into the museum. If I am missing something, please let me know. Otherwise, this process is the only process in our 16 day trip that has given me problems. Finding the tickets or the PDF should not be difficult, I never found it in my email text or app.
It was a lovely time. I am a history teacher and appreciated many aspects of the museum. I especially enjoyed the excavation site and the movies provided. I chose not to use the audio guide that was provided because I was going at things in a different way; however, there were many people using the audio guide as well as several groups with live guides. The museum is well laid out as well as beautiful and I love how “open” many of the artifacts were which made for great photographs.
"Skip the line" ticket was a waste of time and money. After repeated contacts (text and phone calls) to Viator the guard finally just let me in without a ticket explaining that "third party vendors" resell tickets to multiple people.
I arranged for Audio but there was nobody there at the Museum to install or give instructions how to "handle" it. The museum by itself is nicely equipped with great expositions but without proper guide you havd to be an "Acropogist" to follow and know the facts behind all the objects, sculptures and building sections. Truly disappointed for uncomplete tour experience. You should give timely thorough instructions for digital guide usage in order to truly make this tour worthwhile.
I purchased tickets for a group of us traveling to the Acropolis. I had a personal tour guide I booked on Viator that was fabulous. However, it was recommended to purchase the museum tickets ahead of time which I did through via not only did the link, not work to get entry into the museum, but Viator is currently not refunding us for our tickets which we had to pay for at entry to the museum after already purchasing them through via tour, which was absolutely pointless apparently. I am shocked that an app that is seemingly so popular could not refund us or help us out with the situation as the museum helpdesk looked into it as well as the company when I called First experiencing this issue at the museum entry. It is disappointing to plan an advance for such a wonderful experience in vacation just to have the stress of not being able to access the actual ticket properly. The museum needed a QR code, which was not on the link that I was sent. I have been in contact back-and-forth from Customer Service with this app and just been given a refusal to refund. Wanderung guides private limited was the third-party who was supposed to supply the tickets. Be wary of this company as we never got our product that we paid $379 for. Terrible Customer Service.
The tour is great. Nick was excellent. The meeting area is a bit out of the way and a little hard to find
Audio was very easy to use and gave in depth knowledge. Buy ticket online save queuing, which was long
The museum was closed because of may 1 Labor Day. My credit card was charged and no refund was issued. How can you sell me something that I cannot do?
The guide was really knowledgeable and passionate. Being the first entry let us experience the Acropolis before it got crowded.
Fast service and the ticket was delivered on whatsapp within 15 minutes from booking. Just scanned the ticket on entrance to the museum
Very nice facility with many displays. Entry was easy and there is a restaurant and cafe in site. Escalators bring you floor to floor.
Provider emailed HALF of the entrance ticket barcodes. This created confusion and a period of chaos as myself and the museum information booth person problem solved to access our full barcodes. This took almost an hour (frustrated to tears). I do not recommend purchasing tickets through this provider. Museum staff said they see this all the time and always recommend getting tickets through their website to assure there’s no issues. Viator shrugged and offered no solutions.
Excellent exhibits, congenial staff despite crowds.
Booked 2 hrs in advance nad immediately received tickets. I can recommend the Company for last minute bookings.
Great building and a great collection and explanation. With a QR code at your smartphone you can get some explanation of what you see. Also kids from primary schools were very interested. Certainly a place you have to visit when in Athens.
Sculptures from the Parthenon and excavated pottery that was put back together were amazing. The excavation under the museum was fascinating. We really liked the audio tour that gave information as you explored. Encourage people to bring earphones to listen easier.
Good way to supplement the Acropolis visit, enjoyed the diversity of the exhibition, with a film on the top floor, small reading area and views on the second floor, and the vast exhibit on the first floor. Didn't enjoy the confusion with the restaurant on the second floor- we went to check out the gift shop and when we tried to continue seeing the museum an over aggressive security officer didn't recognize the Viator ticket since she didn't see the date on it
We coukd make the best use of a Rainy day. We could spend as much time as we wanted in the very intersting and informative museum. It is a must visit museum in Atgens.
The top floor, where the Parthenon sculptures are displayed (originals and reproductions), is all glass which gives the sense of being outdoors. The pieces are arranged as they would have been originally. On the lower floors visitors can get up close to some really exquisite sculptures and ceramics. Using glass flooring in parts of the museum so the excavations below can be seen is a bit of genius.
Allow plenty of time because there are so many things to see and read about. You could probably spend several days or a week. The audio guide is very good and easy to follow. The museum cafe was very pleasant and food was good. The museum is very open and spacious. You can go into the museum store without paying the entrance fee. I’m going back to the store.
The history is deeper than the Athenian gods, older cultures are revealed here. Amazing artifacts pre date the era.
Worst experience ever using Viator. Company they use sent us used tickets, Acropolis Museum confirmed the tickets sent us had already been used September 27th, so could not enter. Museum could not help with problem since tickets were bought thru 3rd Party. This is October 22nd. Wasted about 35 precious minutes communicating with company trying to make them understand & resolve. Exasperated finally bought tickets at the Box Office. Waiting for refund from company, if don’t get it will contact Viator and/or Credit Card Company. FYI-Acropolis Museum is great.
We avoided the lines. We just walked up, they scan our ticket and off we went. . We didn’t to do a guide but there was scan which gave us a map to tell us what we were looking at.
Only through Trip Advisor could I find skip the line flex tickets available. Flex tickets allow you to choose what time you enter the museum the moment when you arrive at the museum. All other skip the line tickets I could find available required the time to be set in stone when the tickets are purchased. There is another Trip Advisor review that urges people not to buy the tickets through TripAdvisor under the theory that the actual tickets were not available for admission. In my experience, this may be because person didn’t know how to access the tickets? After purchasing my tickets, an email later arrived that allowed me to download the actual tickets to my phone. The actual tickets were also available an hour or more after the purchase on the TripAdvisor website. You will know you have the actual tickets when you see a QR code. If you have purchased multiple tickets, you need to simply swipe through the QR code document, and they are all there. It is a beautiful museum and not to be missed. However, it is very warm inside so dress accordingly. Backpacks cannot be worn on your back because of the risk of them hitting a statue. You’re allowed to bring backpacks into the museum, but you must carry them on the front of you. Had a great time at the museum and hope you do too.
Fabulous museum, absolutely a must-see! However, I would advise purchasing your tickets either at the counter or from another source away from TripAdvisor. Getting to my actual ticket was cumbersome. Open the email, click on the link, no, that's not your ticket, we need you to go back to all your emails. So I'm delayed for several minutes while a nice museum employee helps me. Finally I had to click on "contact tour operator" to find the actual ticket that was used to enter.
A well-curated museum capturing the history and art of the Acropolis. Some amazing artifacts and reconstructions go far towards illuminating the history and culture of Ancient Greece.
This is a more cost effective way of purchasing tickets for the Acropolis museum. Tickets are normally 40 euros. Paid USD33. Plus the lines were long to get tickets. It’s a win-win. Plus if you are traveling with kids, it allows you to skip the line and buy discounted tickets for your kids at 10 euros each.
If you love history and all its details, it is for you, but it is so wide the collection of pieces that in moments of repetitive turn, but I insist, depends on your style and preferences.
