This is BUYER BEWARE!! You can purchase tickets at the ticket counter for much less. There is no self guided tour information provided. They give you the same tickets you can purchase yourself and they do not meet you at a meeting place as noted on the tour. You can get a guide from the ticket counter also. When I messaged them no response. I reached out after the tour and they said there is not a self guide so very misleading practices .

Easy download, tix on phone, audio easy follow while climbing up. Two lines at gate, one with tickets other to buy
We selected the 5pm entry time just to get the sunset light on the Acropolis. And it did not disappoint!!! It was still very busy but we were able to get a few pictures without the crowds. The staff is serious about getting customers to leave at 6pm.
After many days of emails and texts trying to change the date of my ticket it was changed by Key Tours. When we arrived at the site we were told that our tickets were not activated by the tour company and we had to go to multiple locations and spend another 1:2 hour getting that straightened out. Once inside the venue the self guided tour wouldn’t work. Stay AWAY from Key Tours, nothing but trouble.
We went up to the Acropolis at 4pm in showery weather. Great timing! No queuues. Much cheaper on TripAdvisor 👍😉
This included a downloadable audio tour of the Acropolis and Plaka, as well as entry tickets. The audio guide didn't work half the time, so we had no real idea of what we were looking at. Since the map wouldn't load for Plaka, we had no idea where we were so we just decided to skip that after 30 minutes of being lost and just explored the city and went shopping. had we known we would have taken the time to review the tour before we got to the site, but we thought we would be able to follow it in real time.
The Parthenon was packed . The Acropolis was packed . THIS PLACE was PACKED. Be prepared for a lot of slick steps , pushing and shucking, lots and lots and lots of tourists. The ticket companies buy out all the tickets then sell them back to you at a markup . So that u have to go through them to get a ticket. Buyer be Aware :) the audio guide is nice but kind of a joke because it does not have GPS coordinated with your listening . So rarely do you know what you are looking at but they give you some nice information to make you feel like you are learning something about Greek history and Greek culture . I would not buy this again. But good luck if you want to try it out .
This was not a good experience as far as an audio tour goes. 6 people in my group total- only 3 of us were able to connect with the audio tour. We were all together and followed the directions and downloaded the same way. 1 download disappeared, 1 had partial content, and on had the following date so would not play. English was the selected tour. The accent was so difficult to understand even though English speaking. I would expect a refund if possible. Poor experience. We all (6) gave up listening and simply enjoyed the views on our own.
Audio guide didn't work, would never recommend anyone to use
Breathtaking view but crowded! Nice ambiance ! Should be nice if more organized but its a nice experience
The starting point is impossible to get to at the nominated time due partly to hopelessly usekess instructions and the delay actually getting into the site..as a cosequence the audio guide was usless
The experience was really good, we did it early in the morning, and the queue was still very big. I booked it through Tripadvisor, but still had to queue to purchase tickets for the children even though you don’t pay for them as they are under 18, it was really annoying as we had to wait to buy tickets and then again to get in. Staff were helpful and spoke good English. We stayed for about 1.5hrs, as we did a self guided tour, which I recommend. It was very easy to navigate through the area, but it does get very busy and there were lots of people pushing to get close especially those in tour groups. If you do this definitely earlier the better.. If you take a bag you will have to queue to have this checked, and you can’t take food in there. It definitely wasn’t worth the money that we paid for it. Also to note, there is a lot of steps and walking to get up to the Acropolis, so make sure you wear walking shoes.
There are many many stairs and inclines. The roads are paned with cobblestone. Because of this, they are uneven and many are very slippery. The older you are the more difficult it becomes to manipulate this area..
Good option for tickets and to be able to go through the acropolis at your own pace while still getting some information.
This was not worth the money - book directly through the Acropolis. The price shown on the tickets was much higher than that on the Acropolis website, and I assume this was marked up because of the audio tour. We thought we had downloaded the correct tour ahead of time, but both my husband and I could not get the tour to work, despite downloading the app and using the code sent while we were on wifi. We then spent valuable time standing inside the Acropolis gate trying to figure it out. We gave up and just walked around and saw that they had QR codes and a free app once inside. We also felt very rushed for the 7pm entry - they started ringing the bells and clearing us before 8pm. So while it was a beautiful time to visit as the sun was setting, it was very rushed. Overall I am very disappointed and would highly recommend just booking a tour though the official website.
The audio guide was excellently narrated, but it was somewhat difficult to follow where we should be at each step on the way. Better pictures would have helped because, unlike many museums and historic sites, there were no identifying signs marking the way. Despite the inconvenience of not always knowing where we should be, I would use Viator self-guiding tours again.
Obviously this is just a way to get tickets once they sell out, so I guess mixed feelings since they clearly just buy them out and then mark them up. But, the markup isn’t that high and it worked very smoothly. I didn’t try the audio tour, there are multiple free ones you can download.
The tour was fantastic!! Dou is a walking encyclopedia!! So knowledgeable and kind. Enjoyed every minute of this tour.
It’s beyond words to explain the feeling of seeing the Acropolis. We learned to make sure you purchase your tickets ahead of time and make sure you are within the hour of your time or you lose your tickets, lucky for us we knew that but many people didn’t. Very step and strenuously hard walk up and wear good shoes can be slippery as you are walking on marble
Bought tickets before leaving uk, definitely helped beat the queue but paid quite a bit more than the entry fee if you queue. The audio guide was good easy to download and follow
We could not get our Acropolis tickets for the time we wanted via the government site (Hellenic Heritage), so these came in very handy. We ended up not using the Plaka guide (possibly advertised that way to account for the markup?), but the tickets were legit to an amazing experience.
Very crowded so it was hard to enjoy each stop along the way. The audio took a bit to figure out but was ok once it got going.
Arrived late due to flight delay & new passport checks which took over an hour to get out of airport. By the time our transfer got us to our hotel & we walked to the Parthenon we were 1.5 hours late so they would not honor our tickets
Could not get the app to work. No one answered my messages. This is the second tour I have taken with Victor in the last week. Neither was worth a fraction of what was paid. I will let everyone know to choose a different company for tours.
The audio commentary was informative, i liked how it started automatically when you reached the designated geo location.
Huge disappointment, there was noting in the booking that showed that the entry was limited by one hour, it only said 8 am. we didn’t realize it was only from 8 to 9 AM, which was impossible for us to meet from our cruise ship, we found out as we were giving the ticket to the person at the gate and he said it was expired, so we had to buy tickets again at the ticket office for €30 each. The app was helpful but not worth the ticket price
The self audio tour did not work. Viator and the operator were notified but offered no refunds. I was told it was my internet but it worked fine for everything else. That was a poor excuse for the failure of the self guided audio tour. No empathy no refund. Buyer beware.
The Acropolis is amazing and worth the visit
Great pass. Wonderful experience. The tour made it easy to skip the line and proceed directly into the experience.
Getting the tickets the day of the tour was confusing and hard. The instructions werent clear and parts were contradictory for how to get tickets. We never did use the audio. I had to call Viator to help me get tickets to get inside. Frustrating.
It is best to buy your tickets ahead of time on line. The line to get in gets long quick. Our friends hired a guide once arriving at the Acropolis. We did not, toured the sight on our own.
We did not realize that you had to download the audio. We thought there would be headphones there available for us, so we did not get the whole experience. That was a little disappointing.
It was nice to have tickets to Acropolis, since there was a line to the ticket office and only later entry times available. Provided QR codes worked without any issues. I did not use audio guide
Very easy to use. Without it I would have been lost. The information was great.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s an ok audio guide. Very short and not worth the extra money. Buy your tickets at the entrance. It’s not packed at all if you get there before 10a. The narrator in English has a very thick accent so be prepared to listen closely.
Convenience to skip the line, amazing vistas, but crowded, despite the 8am tour. The tour narration was very informative.
Worth it to make sure we could get timed tickets, and not get scammed when buying these tickets. You don’t meet up as a group - you get your tickets and go solo. The audio guide is awful.
A great self paced tour that should be a must for all to visit Athens. An amazing part of the world that is constantly undergoing maintenance for the future.
The Acropolis was amazing. Be there early or late to avoid the crowd. Take time to walk from the lower entrance as the upper one does not direct you to the ruins and amphitheater on the museum side slope.
Amazing and informative guidance through the ancient ruins. Spectacular views and interesting insights. I would definitely recommend.
Crowds were reasonable early in the morning. Great views from the top. Lots of structures to view and walk through. Highly recommended.
Booking the Acropolis & Parthenon Admission Ticket with self-guided audio tours through Viator was an excellent choice. The process was quick and easy, and having the ticket in advance made entering the site completely hassle-free. The self-guided audio tour was a huge bonus—it allowed me to explore at my own pace while still learning the rich history and fascinating details of the Acropolis and Parthenon. The narration was clear, informative, and really brought the ancient ruins to life. Walking among these iconic landmarks with the flexibility to stop, listen, and take in the views was unforgettable. This is a must-do experience in Athens, and I highly recommend booking through Viator for convenience and peace of mind.
The audio did not work! When I booked the tour it was in AUD however what was charged to my credit card was EURO. Very surprised.
Greece is such a unique country with so much to offer! The food walking tour gave us a look, a taste and a better understanding of all that Greece, especially Athens, is all about!
Loose all of the music it’s annoying and distracting. Instead, have a reminder for the listener to use the map to move onto the next point of interest. For English speaking clients have a narrator whose first language is English. Though cool sounding to have the accent, it was too hard to follow. I gave up after the 4 th point of interest.
Fabulous end to our trip to Athens, please forget about the restoration work going on and absorb the atmosphere,to see this up close and to imagine what it must have been like is wonderful.Great little takeaway place and public toilets are available.
The instructions given with the purchase are incomplete. You need to determine the entrance location with the provided map which is the same entrance everyone else is using. Join the line to be at the main entrance at your assigned time. There may be people ahead of you with later entry times so you may need to go past them. HOWEVER, if you need to use the toilet or think you might while you are on the acropolis, you need to use the OUTSIDE the main entrance on the right hand side. There could be a line for the toilets so get there early and then get in the admission line. When they call your time, you may enter. Press start on your audio tour at this time as they are a bit wordy. If you enjoy the audio, continue playing it. You can replay or jump around but I found it cumbersome and frustrating. I ended up turning off the tour and viewing the various sites on top and reading the English descriptions of what I was viewing. There were a few tour groups you could glean some information from but most of my time was spent viewing the various locations. You cannot enter any of them as they are roped off. Some have scaffolding for repairs or support. There are only a few benches on top to rest at. The climb can be strenuous if you are out of shape. I recommend 2 bottles of water at least (.5 liter). The nice thing about this ticket is that you can proceed at your own pace and not be tied to a tour group. You can find one of the few benches and sit for an hour if you like and then continue without pressure. You can also read the dialogue of the tour as opposed to listening to it or you can play it as many times as you like to enhance your understanding. I’d suggest doing your own research about the Acropolis before going to have a better idea of what you are supposed to be looking at. We spent a total of 2 hrs and 15 minutes from the time we entered until we left. Other than the cheesy dialogue, the lack of concise instructions, and a warning about lack of facilities on top, the tour accomplished what I needed it to.
You’re paying the premium for the early entry/ skipping the lines. The audio tour is awful - Viator should be more transparent about what this is
Very busy even at 8am - don’t bother with audio when so busy , as rubbish ! Either go without or get a guide !
No direction after booking. We were told it was an audio tour and to meet at 11:00am. We arrived at 10:25am, sent messages with no response.
