Stavros was an amazing guide! He knows the history of his adopted city and communicates it with animation and fun. We loved our time on the tour and can’t recommend it enough.
Tour is Uniquely Crested By our Guide, Starvos. His knowledge was outstanding of history of the courts. education walking us through important historical sites of Socrates, universities and then through stunning, hidden neighborhoods of narrow walkways & beautiful homes overlooking the city. And Shopping! Highly recommend this wonderful tour, and thank you, Savros!
I am an older (70) woman travelling solo. The company & my tour guide, Carlos, kept in touch wirh details as the tour grew closer. Met at the assigned meeting place & time. It was a solo tour so Carlos was able to go at a pace I could keep up with. It was an orientation tour that included many sights & neighborhoods. He explained the areas fully & was able to answer my questions. The neighborhoods & areas were all so different. 1 block could make a difference between the hustle & bustle of people, vehicles, motorbikes, & scooters & the quiet calm of narrow walkways beneath the Acropolis. Carlos took pictures for me, helped me get an Uber & waited with ne until the Uber came. Delightful tour that I thoroughly enjoyed.
This is a must tour. Specially if you’re first time in Athens. I am glad I got this at my first day of staying in Athens because you get familiar with city center, restaurants, shopping places etc. Carlos was such a nice and patient tour leader. He was very flexible with the schedule and such a great attitude. I highly recommend it.
Our guide was very nice & very knowledgeable. We enjoyed our time spent with him & would definitely recommend him as a guide! Just a note: Athens has a lot of steps and hills. Wear good walking shoes!
Stravos was an excellent guide who came prepared for any eventuality!! He was friendly, knowlegable and adapted to our changing needs with no fuss. He has an excitement and passion for this line of work.
This tour was absolutely fabulous! Stavropol was so friendly and kind! He always offered an arm when walking over tougher terrain. We walked through all the different neighborhoods as he provided interesting history. I highly recommend this tour to everyone!
This was a great and relaxed tour around some of the areas you would not always see. Stavros our guide was friendly, knowledgeable and easy to chat with, highly recommended.
Great experience. Lots of walking so wear sensible footwear. Even though our guide was younger, he was considerate of our mobility issues.
Starvos was an excellent tour guide. His knowledge of the neighborhoods we visited kept us engaged the entire time. His attention to details, kindness, and professional was superb. I thoroughly enjoyed our walk through Plaka taking in all the sights. I will have to say that Starvos was one of the most genuine and honest tour guides I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Thank you for pairing him with us and giving us an amazing experience.
This was a wonderful walking tour! You'll love Stavros. He is so easy going, you feel as though he is a friend telling you about his hometown. A knowledgeable friend! He gives you so much interesting background but you never feel as though he is lecturing. Ask him for recommendations on places to go and cafes with good food!
Excellent tour, highly recommended. Stavros is engaging and knowledgeable, willing to help and share the beauty of Athens. With an artist's eye he finds the best spots for photos and has details and stories to make this tour even more interesting. He'll also help with finding good prices if you want to do some shopping. Thank you Stavros for sharing your mom's oranges with us, and for a great tour!
Absolutely loved our tour with Stavros! He is extremely friendly and knowledgable and showed us the best of Athens. He introduced us to Fredo Cappucinnos (always with cinnamon) and we were hooked for the rest of our time in Greece.
Stavros was wonderful. I highly recommend his tour to become acquainted with the area. We made a quick visit of the archeological sites, historic churches, and some out-of-the way spots covering far many more places than I could have trying to navigate with my phone. He modified the route and offered other recommendations based on my interests. Now I know what I will spend more time on. If I don't make back to each for a detailed visit, at least I made it there once. Note: this tour does not enter the ticketed sites. Buy a combined 7 site entry ticket for further exploring.
Stavros really made my day. He was super flexible, accommodating the fact that my flight got in a bit later than expected. He gave me a lovely tour of the neighborhoods chatting rather than lecturing about the sights. He helped me make wise decisions in terms of buying souvenirs (no sugary treats for my pre-diabetic mom). I felt as though I spent the afternoon with an old friend. Highly recommend as a way to get the lay of the land before diving into museums and such.
Stavros was the best tour guide we could have ever asked for. Starting at the beginning of Greek civilization, he walked us through neighborhoods over time. Rather than a rehearsed speech, he used conversation to teach us about the political, geographic, economic, and religious culture of Athens. His warmth and humor added to every story and fact he shared. My mom and I felt comfortable with him on this private tour due to his supportive attitude towards women. He gave us great recommendations and a phenomenal perspective of Athens! We are forever grateful for this incredible experience.
