2 Days Private Tour: Delphi & Meteora

I came to Athen after the 10 day cruise with 9 of my friends, I am glad that I found Olive Sea Travel through internet, right the way I can communicate with them through WhatsApp they are very helpful arrange all the booking, on the arrival day they provide very comfortable van that can carry all 10 of us with our luggage’s and carry-ons with ease, we done the 2 day private tour to Delphi and Meteora Theodore was our guide, he is very knowledged on all the history of the ancient site, he’s schedule and planning is very professional, he know exactly what we looking for, he also knows where all the good food, good restaurants many of the scenery spots, we really enjoy the trip all my friends gotten beautiful memories in Greece.! Nikos took us on the Temple of Posideon tour, he also done a great job hosting us we had a lot of fun took a lot of photos. Thanks to Olive Sea Travel, you have done a great job! I’ll be referring my friends for their future Athen trips.

We had the pleasure of taking our tour with Dimitris this past week. He was an excellent guide and went above and beyond on numerous occasions. He was very clear about the upcoming days events and frequently would provide tips to make our tour more enjoyable. We also liked how he would give us options about how the day would unfold so that it met our needs. We stopped at a few different locations for meals and all of them were delicious! He further displayed excellent English, was easy to understand and very fun to spend time with. Highly recommended!

Our driver, Panos, was excellent. He knew the best places to eat, how to access the sites most efficiently, and the history of each. His driving was calm in a country full of aggressive drivers. We stayed at a top notch hotel with views of Meteora that were second to none. Panos was very accommodating and attentive to our needs. We had an amazing experience. Delphi and Meteora are "must see" destinations in Greece and we would heartily recommend this group.

This trip was amazing. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. He changed plans based on the whims of my teenager. And we ended up with the best experience possible. The hotel was great with a beautiful view. The car was spacious and comfortable. And the scenery was out of this world. Highly recommend this trip!

We had a two day private tour with Vaso for our tour guide and Nikos for our driver. They were fantastic! Vaso was incredibly knowledgeable on all of the sites we toured and taught us about both mythology and history. Nikos was an excellent driver and talked to us about the city as we drove to different places. They even recommended great places for us to eat and shop outside of our tour. Together they made our weekend unforgettable and helped us get the most out of our limited time in Athens. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

We enjoyed getting out of the city and into the beautiful Greek countryside. Seeing the museum and archaeological site at Delphi made history come alive. After the site visit. we had an amazing lunch at a licsl restaurant with an incredible view of the countryside. The hotel was comfortable. The natural formations around Meteora are breathtaking. We visited several monasteries, all with great views, and incredible artwork Another great lunch at a small seafood taverna on the water. Andres is outgoing, knowledgeable and took good care of us. We enjoyed our time with him

This was a sensational tour and thoroughly recommend it. Terry was our driver who was absolutely brilliant and extremely knowledgeable. There wasn't a question he couldn't answer about history, the sites and everything along the way. He was so calm, polite and flexible with our requirements, such as staying longer to take extra photos in particular places. Meteora, Delphi and Thermopyles were unbelievable. Terry also made us aware of a 15 minute 3D video that was available to watch at the Thermopyles site cultural centre which gives people a summary of what happened at the site, worth watching especially for those unfamiliar with the historical significance of the place. Do yourself a favour and go on this tour, you won't be disappointed.

Theodore was the perfect guide/host/driver. He inquired multiple times to ensure we were comfortable with the car temperature, for rest stops, if we were hungry, etc. He was very knowledgeable of all the sites we saw; providing information that both educated and made us laugh. The sites of Delphi and Meteora were wonderful. Meteora is truly amazing. We very highly recommend both this trip and Theodore. Thank you for a lovely time!

We just got back from an amazing 2-day private tour to Delphi and Meteora, and I can’t stop raving about it! Our guide, Panos, totally made the trip unforgettable. He’s a walking encyclopedia of Greek history and culture, and his excitement for the subject was contagious. We had a phenomenal trip with Theodore with Olive Sea Travel! He was a fantastic guide and made the trip so easy and enjoyable! He also made sure we got to our next stop correctly. We were a large group and he would point out things to each of us that were of more interest to us individually. We all agree that so far Meteora was our favorite and Theodore was the best guide of the trip!

We had a wonderful time on this tour, our driver Marios was very attentive in showing us the sites. Delphie and meteora were magical, Marios made sure we were comfortable. He also helped my husband get to difficulty sites to see the view of the sunset at Meteora. The next day my granddaughter got ill and Marios ensured we were taken to the right places and even translated for us. He brought us coffee and water and what ever else we needed, he did not leave our side. Marios went above and beyond for us and made the trip memorable in more ways than one. WOW! That’s all I can say! Unbelievable experience and views! Chris made sure that we got to see what we wanted to see and yet we went at our own pace. The overnight accommodations were beautiful as well. A must do!

An amazing way to see so many cool parts of Greece! Our guides, Manos and Panos, provided excellent care, interesting and educational stories, as well as great food and experience recommendations. WOW! What a great trip! Chris was an amazing guide. Everything went so smoothly. He gave us great history lessons on our trip, and got us everywhere safe. He was right there when we were ready to go on to the next. The hotel Meteora was wonderful as well with great views. It was so nice to get out of Athens and see the country side of Athens. Would definitely book through this company again!

We really enjoyed our trip to Delphi and Meteora. Terry was an excellent guide with facts and information about all our locations. Sunset and sunrise at Meteora are spectacular! Bring water, a camera, binoculars, and hiking poles to both places. Be sure to give yourself enough time to hike up to the stadium at Delphi, it's worth the effort. We appreciated the ability to move at our own pace with our private tour and never felt rushed. Yes, we would definitely recommend this tour and Terry to others who want to explore Delphi and Meteora!

Was a great 2 day trip. The visit to Delphi was great, amazing to take in all of that history, and the museum was awesome as well. Meteora was stunning, amazing scenery, got to see sunset and then followed up with visits to 2 Monasteries the next day. Throw in a stop at Thermopylae on way back to Athens and had a full enjoyable trip. Driver/guide did a good job and was attentive to our needs, van was comfortable.

The most memorable part of my trip was visiting the monasteries. My guide, Constantinos, expertly showed me the area and recommended the best ones to view. We saw the sun set over on June 21, the summer solstice. It was a memorable occasion thanks to Constantinos‘s knowledgeable help.

Our tour guide Alexander was wonderful and made our trip very pleasant and memorable. He indulged not only my husband and I but my boys (16 and11) as well. Extensive knowledge about Delphi and meteora that he shared with us throughout the trip.

Andreas, our driver was excellent. Yes, it is expensive and indulgent (we were lucky enough to do this), however our ability to navigate what we wanted to at speed, without the mass of tourists within a coach was really special. Andreas was excellent and not only provided great historical and cultural information on our tour, was completely devoted to us having a great experiences I really couldn’t recommend Andreas enough. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We experienced one of our best sunsets together so far! Stunning!

Memorable part of our trip was seeing the Monastery. The tour guide was very good. She spent about an hour with us. Our driver George was polite and did his job well.

My family of four (13 year old girl and 8 year old boy) had a great time on this trip. We were picked up right from the airport after arriving in Greece by Kristos. We were very comfortable in a large black van. My kids got some extra sleep on the drive up. Kris was accommodating in my husband's desire to add a stop to the trip (the Crossroads). We were lucky enough in Delphi to see the Olympic Committee bring the Torch. Meteora was absolutely gorgeous. We got to see a couple of monasteries. We had a late start that morning so opted to skip the third. The next stop was Thermopylae, where Kris was very knowledgeable about the history of the battle and its consequences. He also was very patient as my husband tried to react various 300 and Oedipus scenes. All in all we had a great time.

Wonderful experiences overall! Our driver Chris is punctual, polite, knowledgeable and professional. He is able to take us through all the sites quickly. He also gives good recommendations on restaurants. We had a great time! Thanks

Our driver/guide, George, was great. He was flexible and adapted the program to meet our needs. Meteora and Delphi were both very much worth the trip. The monasteries were beautiful and I am glad we decided to take the trip to see them. My only complaint, and the reason for four stars rather than five was the choice of hotel where we spent the night. The Hotel Meteoritis was not very nice and I suspect we were housed there because it was cheap for the travel company. This was not an inexpensive tour and they could have selected a better hotel.

This could not have been better for our family of four. Having a private vehicle with the amazing driver guide, Alexander, took all the challenges of getting to these destinations two brilliant sites of Greece out of the picture. Alexander was so wonderful and knowledgeable and made the trip a very engaging and rewarding experience. We couldn’t have done this over two days on our own so it was an excellent way to do it before heading to the islands. Prior to leaving Olive Sea was great, reassuring and responsive. Highly recommend!!

My family of 5 (which included my not-so-agile 70-year-old parents) thoroughly enjoyed this 2-day trip to Delphi and Meteora. Our guide/driver was very knowledgeable and curated the trip for our needs--picking specific monasteries to visit, since we decided not to visit them all. He also chose excellent restaurants for us to eat at for lunch and dinner both days. The hotel we stayed at was arranged by Olive Sea Travel and was also wonderful. We took this tour after a 7-day cruise and am so glad we did as Delphi and the monasteries were the highlight of our whole trip!

The highlights of the tour were Delphi, a famous historic place and Meteora, a somewhat unique combination of visiting an old monastery with spectacular natural geographic formations. It was well worth the effort and expense. Delphi and Meteora are two truly exquisite locations and we absolutely loved visiting both of them. We also got to see a lot of inland Greece which was a plus. In this aspect it was really our tour guide Nasos, who made suggestions and we are happy we took them. Nasos was absolutely a pleasure to work with. He was both professional and warm at the same time. I must also commend his driving. It was a lot of driving and I felt quite safe while we were traversing some of the mountain roads while ensuring my daughter (prone to motion sickness) did not get car sick. And yet make good time. Would definitely recommend this kind of trip. Will say that having a good guide/driver will make the trip so much the better and we were fortunate in that regard.

The scenery in both Delphi & Meteora was breathtaking, a lot of tough walking & ‘hiking’, suitable only for those with no walking difficulties and reasonably fit.

The 2-Day private tour is the grand finale to end our one-month long Italy/Greece trip. Not only the astonishing mountains, historic ruins and monasteries which are really worth to visit, also our wonderful driver, Nasos Theodoropoulos. Nasos was very professional, knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. He introduced Greek culture and history to us which I found was very beneficial as a first timer to Greece. He bought Greek coffee for us to try and brought us to nice Greek restaurants which we enjoyed very much. He helped us whenever we needed and answered all our questions. Nasos went further to help even they were not in the scope of his tour duties and hours. It was a very enjoyable and unforgettable tour to Delphi & Meteora. I highly recommend Olive Tree travel and its driver/guide Nasos.

Nasos Theodoropoulos is a very experience, patient, confident and careful driver. He is a diligent worker. He has very good knowledge of all the places he bought us and also bought us to places not in the itinerary which we all appreciated and enjoyed. Also treated us with some local food and coffee. He helped bring me to two police stations to report my lost of my money but unfortunately the two police station were closed. i appreciated that he took his off duty time after our tour to bring there and back to to my hotel and also have to hurry back for his daughter’s birthday. Thank you Nasos and we all enjoyed your company

Highlight of our weekend in Delphi & Meteora ending our month long vacation with great fantastic tour. Would recommend it to anyone who want to go on a tour with our guide and driver, Nasos Theodoropoulos. He was brilliant - super friendly, helpful, considerate and extremely knowledgeable-educating us (6 in our group) on the history and local knowledge of the tour. Very informative and happy to answer any questions and cater to our whims. He even went the extra mile to show us more of the culture of the country. He extended his care showing us the exceptional coffee to have, and taking us to different restaurants to our satisfaction. He was compassionate and considerate and went above his duty to help my sister to find a police station for her problem. Again highly recommend.

Excellent trip with Andreas who was our driver who had exceptional knowledge of Greek history. He was courteous, professional and drove us through phenomenal sites in Meteora, and Delphi. We were able to dine in some really exceptional restaurants offering traditional Greek food and wine. Our experience was superlative and would strongly recommend this trip!!

Our family of four love doing private tours and Olive Sea delivered. We had two great trips with them during our Greece stay. The planning and communication stages before we arrived were very smooth. Giannis and Ilias were our Athens guides. Ilias was always there to pick us up in an air conditioned van to give us a break from the heat. Giannis was a very engaging and knowledgeable licensed Athens guide. We saw all the main archeological and historical sites in the city and he knew the best order of attractions to minimize the summer heat and crowds. We had a great coffee stop and a lunch stop at Acropol restaurant.  Socrates was our guide for the two-day trip to Delphi and Meteora. He was an excellent and careful driver and he had a lot of driving in those two days. Delphi was a challenge even at 11am as it's a steady climb uphill, but we were not rushed and had a self-guided tour after getting information from Socrates (he is not licensed and could not guide us through the site). We had an amazing lunch stop at To Patriko Mas in Delphi at Socrates' suggestion and it was one of our favorite restaurants in mainland Greece. Despite the long drive to Meteora, Socrates drove us to the top of the mountain to get the best views of the sunset over the distinctive monasteries on their cliffs. We started early the next day and visited 3 of the 4 open monasteries with minimal effort as Socrates knew the best routes to avoid climbing too much up or down and was always there to pick us up to take us to the next monastery. On the way back to Athens, we had another lovely stop at a restaurant by the sea and were safely dropped off at our Airbnb. We would all highly recommend Olive Sea for those who are looking to have a unique Greek adventure.
