I was very disappointed with my stay at this hotel. Although it is advertised as a four-star hotel, it felt more like a one-star hotel. The breakfast was especially poor, with very limited quality and variety. The staff were not friendly and were very strict, which made the overall experience unpleasant. The only positive thing about this hotel was that the room was clean. Unfortunately, I would not recommend staying here.
As other reviews have stated, location is great. The staff was extremely friendly, from the front desk reception to the bartenders at the rooftop bar (bar is technically a separate business, I think, but extremely friendly and professional nonetheless). Roman, in particular, who was working the breakfast buffet area, was very courteous and friendly to our family. We struck up a nice friendship the entire time we stayed and had great conversations with him all while being fully professional and helpful with recommendations for us. Rooms were spacious and clean. Plenty of amenities in the hotel including a serviceable fitness center. Overall, very happy with this specific NLH hotel and its great staff. Would highly recommend and come back here.
Amazing location, if you arrive into Athens via airport or seaport recommend catching the metro, it’s super easy and safe. Hotel is a short walk from Monastiraki station. Great neighbourhood with excellent cafes, restaurants and shopping nearby. Acropolis walking distance also, or a few stops on the metro. We didn’t opt for the breakfast, but it looked basic, suggest to treat yourself to somewhere local, there is a 24hr bakery just a short walk from the hotel. Overall great value.
While this place was in a great location, we to were disappointed with the service. Yes they did hold our luggage for us when we got there early for check in. That was very kind of them and appreciated. But we got to our room. They have Netflix on the remotes but there's no Netflix. Only regular TV channels which was not much. We told them multiple times our toilet seat was broken and kept falling off when we would use it. The person that did come was going to take the whole seat and then instead said she fixed it by pushing it back into the holes, which was not fixed because it still came off when you sat down. The carpet felt old and sticky when you walked on it, including the big spot shown in the pics. And the light on the ceiling looked broken and was pushed behind the bed for some reason, as shown in the pictures. A little disappointing in the end.
We stayed in the nicely appointed veranda suite, which has a nice balcony and faces the quieter back / side street the hotel is on. It was modern, spacious and comfortable. The staff were helpful and interested in ensuring we had a nice time. The hotel breakfast was included in our stay and normally not my thing but the spread was nice - continental style with a nice variety of Greek items. The only drawback was the closed rooftop terrace and bar, which is not open in the late spring (despite the warm weather). As a major reason for selecting the hotel and staying here, NLH would be best served to clearly communicate the rooftop is not accessible outside of summer on their website and partner vendors.
