I went on a felucca ride with Captain Safy. The felucca was so quiet and it was simply glorious, relaxing on the boat with a cup of tea, watching the sun go down. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience so the next day I went on another boat trip with Captain Safy. This one was on a motorboat and included food, swimming in the Nile (the water in this part of the river is beautiful and inviting!) as well visits to a local Nubian village and a nature reserve. I was astounded by how many birds I saw within seconds of entering the nature reserve and Captain Safy had such an impressive knowledge of the wildlife that live there. These boat trips on the Nile have been one of the absolute highlights of my trip to Egypt and I cannot recommend Captain Safy enough!

We had an absolutely fantastic time with Omar! We originally booked just a sunset felucca ride, but after speaking with him, we decided to add a visit to the Nubian Village, and we are SO glad we did! It turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. Omar picked us up in his private motorboat, which was beautiful, spacious, and extremely clean. It was perfect for our family of four and honestly nicer than most of the other boats we saw on the Nile. We started our journey enjoying fresh mangoes, which the kids loved, while Omar shared interesting stories and information about the Nile, the surrounding area, and Nubian culture. Our first stop was the beautiful Nubian Village, where we had time to walk around, explore, and enjoy some tea. The kids even got to hold a crocodile, which was definitely one of their highlights! We also visited a wonderful spice shop and brought home some delicious spices. Another highlight for the kids was getting to swim in the Nile! We could have joined them, but unfortunately hadn’t brought our swimsuits. After visiting the village, we transferred to a traditional felucca sailboat operated by Omar’s brother. His boat was equally beautiful and incredibly comfortable. We were able to stretch out, relax, enjoy tea, and take in the most spectacular sunset. It truly couldn’t have been more perfect! Omar’s brother was so kind, and we enjoyed chatting with him about all sorts of things while peacefully sailing along the Nile. The sunset, the atmosphere, and the company made it an unforgettable experience. Afterward, Omar picked us up again and drove us back. Throughout the day, he was incredibly kind, welcoming, and knowledgeable. As a proud Nubian, he shared so much about his culture and traditions, which we found fascinating. Our son enjoyed learning about Nubian culture so much that he was joking about wanting to become Nubian himself! Overall, this was a fantastic experience from beginning to end and truly one of the highlights of our trip to Egypt. Both boats were exceptionally nice, the entire experience felt personal and relaxed, and Omar and his brother made us feel so welcome. We would 100% recommend booking with Omar, and if you’re considering adding the Nubian Village to your sunset felucca ride, absolutely do it! You won’t regret it!

When in Aswan, you just have to go on a felucca tide. We chose the sunset felucca ride. Totally worth it and a nice evening activity before dinner. It is very peacefull and the organizer sails from a place were the Nile is wide. You sail until the sun has set and then return. Also very good communication for this trip. I booked it one day before the activity and got immediate confirmation.

There are two ways to enjoy the Felcuca ride—enjoy the peace and quiet on the river or ask the Captain many questions! We partook in both. Captain Safi was so kind and informative. The Nile was very serene the night we went. My husband asked as we walked away: “Should we get a sailboat?”

The boat was really nice, clean, and comfortable, making it the perfect way to enjoy the Nile at sunset. The views were beautiful, and the whole experience was relaxing and enjoyable. The felucca ride was great, and I would definitely recommend! Omar was very communicative via WhatsApp since the moment we booked the tour with him, and he provided very clear information and instructions. On the day of the tour, he picked us at the hotel on time, and he drove us to the dock where we met the boat Captain and his assistant. The felucca ride lasted 1.5 hours, and it was wonderful. They ride along the Nile river around the main island, and we were able to sightsee and enjoy a beautiful sunset. They also served us some tea (free of charge), and they brought us back to the dock where Omar was waiting for us to take us back to the hotel (the boat captain and Omar were in close communication via phone). No one asked us for a tip. The whole experience was great and worth it, especially for the price.

I had an amazing Nile cruise with Omar who is an excellent host. There was no wind so we went on a motorboat instead. Omar pinpointed different species of wildlife during the cruise. The visit to the Botanical gardens was lovely. He also offered an extra, free visit to a Nubian village, giving me the opportunity to see a unique, rich culture. It was a real bonus! Many thanks!

Very calming and pleasant experiences on the Nile river. The tour company is a really good at communicating (the best among the tours we did in Egypt) and he made sure that we were picked up on time and found the right felucca boat. THe wind was not very strong that day, and he gave us an option to do a fast motor boat ride around elephantile island as an alternative. We chose Felucca ride and again it was calm and pleasant experience

This was the highlight of our Egypt trip so far. Thanks to Captain Safi who is AMAZING, we had a romantic and relaxing sunset cruise. My stress just melted away. I combined a felucca ride with Philae Temple and the Unfinished Obelisk. The whole tour was super organized, with quick responses and great flexibility for requests. They also suggested modifying the schedule to catch the sunset felucca ride, which was the best decision. The views, scenery, and breeze were absolutely stunning — the entire day became an unforgettable experience. During the ride, I even got to try some interesting local drinks, which was an extra attraction. Amazing guide, Omar. He is knowledgeable and experienced, and he really picked up on what I wanted to know. He answered all my random questions — from environmental issues, nature, education, food, and people’s mindset, to local government activities and traffic, and of course everything about Nubian culture and history up to today. He also gave me some quiet moments just to enjoy the breeze — you know, when you’re traveling solo, you need that space. Very attentive and respectful. Honestly, he could charge more for this experience. It was definitely worth it!

Very good experience for the felucca sunset tour! We got great glimpses of the sunset shades in the nile. Special mention our Felucca captain Safi. Hello was great , also very fluently english communication. We also recieved some Nubian tea to enjoy during our felucca ride. Most recommended!

From booking the company were helpful and communication was excellent … Omar could not have been more understanding when my husband was ill & we needed to reschedule. Safi was absolutely brilliant in difficult sailing conditions as the sun set & Omar was a confident & knowledgeable guide who made us all feel very comfortable . I highly recommend this company, which provided excellent value for money & avoided us having to deal with the aggressive selling of trips along the riverside.

If you want to just watch the sunset on a felucca, 1 hour ride is necessary and sufficient. Many guided tours in Egypt tend to cut the duration short. But I enjoyed this tour for full 1 hour. Guide Omar was gentle and friendly. He organized appropriate start-time. He and the driver cooperated each other to make my experience unforgettable. It is reasonable and worth experiencing.

This is definitely one of the top travel experiences I’ve had. We were lucky in late October to have a nice breeze to power the sail up and down the Nile. The peacefulness of being on the Nile with no motorboat or splashing noises generated from any wake was incredible. Book this private tour - we had an amazing guide Omar who spoke excellent English and knew so much about the local area and culture. He took some amazing sunset pictures of us and brought us a tasty snack of dates with cashews. He was so good I would honestly try to book other tours with him in Aswan if I came back! The boat was extremely clean and the captain was very good at his job. We did not have a car ride as we were greeted from the dock of our Nile cruise ship by our guide Omar, who led us a few steps away to where the felucca was docked.

The tour was amazing, a moment to relax and enjoy the Nile, the guy also give us sweet dates, juice and water. He was kind and I totally recommend him, he even bring us to the bazar for free because we wanted to buy some tea

We had a felucca ride starting around 5:45 and they picked us up on a motorboat first at our hotel in the Nubian village. Our guide Omar was very friendly and kind. He was patient and explained the surroundings and about the Nubian people. The felucca ride was lovely in the evening and we really enjoyed sailing on the Nile. I highly recommend this tour and especially Omar.

Very nice and relaxed trip on the Nile! Omar was a good guide and gave a lot of explanations that were easy to follow.

Safi gave us a lovely quiet congratulations cruise with a nice cup of tea. We really enjoyed it. When we asked him an idea to eat in the evening, he took us with his motorboat to a fantastic place with great food. He even waited on the spot to take us back to the hotel by boat.

Omar is truly a kind man! He welcomed us with cold bottles of water, offered us mint tea, and even a local mango each to taste (delicious).
