Private Day Tour To Abu Simbel Temples From Aswan - Private Tour

We were on a cruise but decided to use Viator for this excursion. We were so pleased we did as the price was so much cheaper and when we arrived at Abu Simbel there were no crowds. Our guide was very pleasant and knowledgeable. The road trip was long but comfortable and interesting.

Had a very good experience. Mohamed worked with our cruise line to manage our pickup and provide his contact information which made that process easy. The 2 drivers got us back and forth safely with no delays. Our guide was terrific. Very knowledgeable and answered all our questions and provided lots of insights about what would see inside both temples at Abu Simbel. Certainly would recommend this company.

We had a marvellous day with Mohammed at Abu Simbel… it’s a bit of drive but he gave us so much information on what we would see and answered so many questions about Egypt. We felt completely safe and looked after.

Our guide Mustafa was excellent. My wife and I had a private small van, clean and comfortable. We had 2 drivers, one there and one for the return drive. They picked us up at the cruise ship doc, came on board to get us, and were on time. We’d recommend them.

This was a wonderful trip! Our Egyptologist Mo was very knowledgeable, friendly and entertaining. Our drivers took very good care of us as well. Highly recommend this excursion.

Our driver was superb, the journey took 3.5 hours each way, and we felt completely safe the whole time. He managed to avoid potholes and uneven road surfaces very well. Our guide took advantage of the journey to have a nap. He gave us a 20 minute photo lecture in front of the temple, which was informative background to moving the temples, but otherwise he was not very engaging. The temples were amazing, but we felt rushed looking round them so we could meet up with our guide for the return journey. To miss crowds we didn’t leave our hotel in Aswan at 8am, in hindsight 7am would have given us more time at Abu Simbel.

It's a long drive to Abu Simbel from Aswan. We arrived after 3.5 hours with one brief stop along the way. The earlier you can leave the better. We had a great guide in Mara. Very knowledgeable and thorough. You will enjoy Abu Simbel but bring a book for the long drive. There is nothing to see along the way but desert. Don't forget to tip your driver cause that is a long day for them behind the wheel.

Despite being late ourselves due to a misunderstanding if dates, we felt the day was unsafe and formulaic. 1) Our driver frequently drove at 140-150 KPH on 90 KPH desert roads, with frequent heavy braking to avoid other vehicles. 2) Our guide gave a 45 lecture at the start of a 3.5 hour journey and then went to sleep. 3) At the temple...we were hurried (having forgone a break to catch up), given a 10 minute photo lecturer and then our guide went off. 4) It was too far for one temple....a missed opportunity was to fail to join it up with visit to the ASWAN dam and exploration of the numerous geographical and cultural implications of the dam. Felt very rushed with huge missed opportunities along the way.

Long drive to and from temples was smooth and allowed catch up nap and appreciation of vast desert. The temples were awesome and explanations by my guide Adham were succinct and illuminating throughout. In addition he was an excellent photographer. Highly recommend the experience.Bucket list trip.

I’m glad I booked a private Abu simbel tour with Egypt Unlimited Tour. From the booking to the drop off to the hotel, everything was top notch. The booking and communication with Mr. Mohamed Mostafa was quick, clear, and straightforward. The online payment system also worked flawlessly and securely. I opted to leave our hotel at a later time instead of the 4 am departure to avoid the crowd and it was granted. We met up and got assisted by one of the staff member to get to the van and meet our tour guide for the day. We also got 2 drivers who took turns driving since it was a long drive. We felt safe the whole time and got to stop when we needed a restroom break or snacks/drinks. We had the privilege to be guided by Maram Abdeen! She was sweet, caring, and very accommodating. She made sure my family and I were comfortable the whole time during the commute and during the walk around the temple. She constantly checked on my aunt who had mobility issues and checked all of us if we were okay in the heat. She was also very knowledgable and she taught us the rich history of Abu Simbel. Maram also gave lots of suggestions and tips on restaurants, stores, souvenirs, etc. She also bought us delicious local Egyptian lunch! In the short time we spent with her, we all felt like we were treated like family members, not just another clients. Thank you Maram and the Egypt Unlimited tours! We will use your service again when we visit Egypt.

Fantastic tour, and some of the best temples in Egypt. Mostafa was a fun an engaging and knowledgeable tour guide that helped me understand the history of Egypt and the significance of the temples. Highly recommend for anyone staying in Aswan!

The temples are extraordinary! They are not only beautiful, but are an engineering marvel as well. The time and money spent to come here were well worth it and have provided a lifetime experience!

Mohamed arranged this private tour for the two of us, and our guide was Mostafa. We were picked up at 7am from our hotel, and the 3 hour drive really went by like nothing as my friend and I were chatting with Mostafa about all sorts of different topics. Mostafa is a very friendly, knowledgeable guy. We covered many topics, both on ancient and modern Egypt. On the way to Abu Simbel, you get a view of some of the desert being reclaimed as farmland by the Egyptian military, and Mostafa knows quite a bit about it. He's not able to go inside of the temples with you, which you'll find is typical of many of the sites, but gives you a very clear and detailed description before you enter. The temples of Abu Simbel themselves were probably the most interesting sites we saw in Egypt. I recommend going, even given that it kills a day, especially if you get a good guide like Mostafa to chat to the entire journey. Mohamed is highly responsive and a true professional. He seems to have a list of high quality guides at his disposal, and he was able to arrange tours for us with very little notice. I'll definitely contact him again the next time I'm in Egypt.

My wife and I wanted to visit Abu Simbel for a long time and we are delighted that we done it through this tour. From the moment I contacted Mostafa he was a pleasure to deal with. Everything was booked and confirmed with ease. Abu Simbel itself is a very long journey by car but the air conditioned vehicle was very comfortable and the drivers were excellent. Our guide was Ahmed and he was brilliant. He was very knowledgable and explained all the history and answered our questions in excellent English. The site itself is absolutely incredibly and well worth the journey! I also booked a tour to Philae Temple followed by an afternoon sailing and lunch on a felucca with this company and that was a real threat as well. Ahmed was our guide for that as well and was brilliant again. The felucca sailing was fantastic and the lunch was absolutely delicious. This was also a real highlight of our trip to Aswan. I would highly recommend both these tours with this company, and Ahmed as a knowledgable and friendly guide with great English

I’m on a very tight scheduled trip through Egypt and I just couldn’t say no to go and somehow see the Abu Simbel temple. But since I arrived at 11pm in the previous night to Aswan., I decided to take a privet tour instead of taking the minibus tour like everyone else. Because the minibuses depart at 4-4.30am. But my privet tour, I booked it for 9am. As a solo traveler the privet tour does cost you more., BUT I cannot tell you how good the advantage of taking the privet tour was! Not only was I well rested for the long tour., when I got to the temple there was not a single tourist there!!! I had the whole place to myself! In the morning with the minibus tours the temples are crowded with hundreds if not thousands of tourists. But since I came later in the day (around 12-2pm) there was literally no one. And spending 2hrs there is more than enough especially when you don’t have to fight for a place with others to take photos! 😆😆 I took lots and lots of photos and videos, as much as I needed. My tour guide Ahmed was a kind and patient man., explaining the historic value of the temples and helping to take some great photos for me. Tour guides are not allowed to go inside the temples with you. So they have to explain everything from the outside. Just as I went inside the temple 3 local boys that were hovering around followed me in. Although I did feel uncomfortable that they followed me around I was not scared because Ahmed the tour guide was waiting for me right outside. And that was a relief. Because I know some tour guides just drop you off and disappear and you’re by yourself till you return to the pick up point. So in that sense I really recommend Egypt Unlimited tours as well because they really made sure I was safe and comfortable throughout my whole journey. And as a solo female traveller that was very important to me. I really cannot recommend enough!! Take the privet tour and enjoy the place all to yourself as well!! I traveled in a group of 5 and we thoroughly enjoyed the long journey to Abu Simbel. The drivers were great and guide was good. The temple is unique and amazing to spectate. I had also booked a Nile tour with the company, which quoted $100 USD per person for the private tour. I messaged the company to see if they would accept Trip Advisor's pricing of $85 USD per person to which NO response was given. Therefore, do your research to get the value for your money. I did not exhibit as great communication with the company as others have noted.

Excellent Organisation - we got contacted minutes after booking and the pick up was on time. The bus was new and very comfortable. The driver slowed down before speed bumps so we wouldn't shake so much (not allways tge case in egypt ...). The tour guide knew a lot and explained everything about the temples very well! He also gave interesting information on the road and spoke German very well. I would definitvely go with them again :)

The tour was excellent and very interesting. I was impressed with the place. It’s amazing the work that was done there. It’s unbeilable the work done to cut and move the temples from another location.

Mohamed Salman was a wonderful funny and friendly guide. He was very knowledgeable about the places we visited around Aswan. He was on time and very helpful with getting us to little shops for water etc. His drivers were great and the cars were well maintained and they drove safely. We spent 3 nights and two days in Aswan and Luxor. As we were right on time due to work restrictions we decided to do a viator package. We flew to Cairo and then Viator booked us a business trip package for 3 nights/2days to Aswan/Luxor. We were met off the plane in Aswan and were taken to meet our tour guide Ahmed. We went to see Aswan Dam and Philae Temple. The temple was amaIng. Brilliant examples hieroglyphics and our guide Ahmed was very knowledgeable. Afterwards we were transported to our hotel in Aswan for don much needed rest. The following morning we were picked up and driven to the burial chambers in Abu Simbel. It was a 3 hour drive and some said not work to it but it was probably one of the best sites I have ever visited. Well worth the trip down. We then sent back to Aswan and got a train with our guide to Luxor. Day 3 was spent in.a hot air balloon in the morning over the valley of the kings. we hadn’t this booked but Ahmed got that sorted for us very quickly. Afterwards we went to see the valley of the Kings and Queens and Luxor Temple and Kanak Temple. We found everything so easy. Booking the business option meant that the two of us had a private guide the whole time we were there. if we were not happy with anything or anything was wrong (which nothing really was) Ahmed was straight on the phone to fix it. He even took us for some traditional Egyptian breakfast on our last day. We found him to be extremely knowledgeable and willing to help us whenever we needed it. He didn’t mind giving us extra time in the places we really wanted to see - all to make sure we enjoyed our trip. Highly recommended tour and if you book it definitely request Ahmed!!!! Thanks Ahmed for everything and see you on our next trip back!

My husband and I had this private tour about 1 week ago. Mohamed Mostafa provided great service. Because we wanted to visit Abu Simbel early in the day so we could have sometimes to visit another temple in the afternoon, so we made 4am departure. Mohamed told our hotel to prepare breakfast for us, and packed in 2 bags, so we could enjoy breakfast the way we drove to Abu Simbel. Mostafa Gamal was our private guide, he made a great tour with us, told us the history about the temple, a very knowledgable guys for old Egypt. I kind of like how they arrange the tour. Mostafa explained the Temple, the history before we got in the temple. Then when we visited, we already knew the history about the temple and we also had enough time to take pictures and had enough for just me and my husband to visit on our own. I really recommend their service.
