We had an amazing experience on our Nile cruise in Egypt, thanks to our fantastic tour guide, King Mina! Mina explained everything so clearly and in great detail. His knowledge about Egypt, its history and culture was truly impressive. He has a great sense of humor, is always friendly and welcoming, and made every excursion enjoyable and interesting. He was always there for us, ready to help with anything we needed, and made sure everyone felt comfortable and well taken care of. The cabin provided all the comfort we needed throughout the cruise. While it was not particularly luxurious, it was clean, comfortable, and perfectly suited for a pleasant stay on board. Unfortunately, we did not receive the student discount for our 16-year-old, despite being eligible for it. Meals were served buffet-style and were generally tasty, with a good variety of options. However, the selection tended to be quite similar from day to day. The real highlight of the trip was undoubtedly the sightseeing. The destinations and excursions are truly a must-do and make the journey unforgettable. Be prepared for some very early mornings, though. The early wake-up calls are part of the experience, but they are absolutely worth it to make the most of these incredible sites.

Sunrise M/S Mahrousa – Pleasant Cruise, but Not a Five-Star Experience I recently spent three nights aboard the Sunrise M/S Mahrousa, cruising from Aswan to Luxor. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience, although I would rate the boat closer to 3.5 stars rather than the advertised five-star standard. The boat was clean, and our cabin was comfortable, but the accommodations and furnishings were noticeably outdated and could benefit from modernization. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the food was good quality, with a nice variety of options, including vegetarian dishes, which I appreciated. One of my biggest disappointments was the lack of onboard activities and amenities. There was no actual gym, only a single stationary exercise bike on the upper deck. During the longer sailing periods, particularly on Sunday (3rd Day) when we spent much of the day aboard, there was very little to do besides sit or relax. I would have appreciated some daytime entertainment, organized activities, or opportunities for physical recreation. Although evening entertainment was offered, it started around 10 p.m., which was quite late considering the early morning sightseeing excursions. Earlier entertainment would have made the experience more enjoyable. On the positive side, I appreciated having enough time to enjoy the actual sailing experience along the Nile. The scenery was beautiful, and it was relaxing to watch life along the river. Overall, the cruise was pleasant, the food was good, and the staff was welcoming. However, the outdated accommodations and limited amenities fell short of my expectations for a five-star cruise. With some renovations and additional onboard activities, the experience could be significantly improved. Wonderful Tour Guide Who Made the Experience Enjoyable One of the highlights of our Nile River cruise was our tour guide, Talaat Abdo. He was friendly, charismatic, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. He did an excellent job coordinating our sightseeing excursions, transportation, and daily schedules, allowing us to relax and enjoy the experience without worrying about the logistics. I especially appreciated his personality and the way he looked after the group. He was familiar with the different sites and knew how to navigate the various arrangements, which made the excursions run smoothly. The sightseeing itself was fascinating, and I appreciated the opportunity to learn about Egypt's incredible history. However, at some of the busier sites, particularly the Valley of the Kings, it was sometimes difficult to hear all the explanations unless you were standing close to the guide. There was also a considerable amount of historical information to absorb in a relatively short period, which could feel overwhelming. This was not necessarily the guide's fault, but smaller groups or audio headsets would make the experience even better. Overall, I was very pleased with our guide. His professionalism, friendliness, and attention to the group's needs contributed significantly to our enjoyment of the cruise. While I felt the boat itself had room for improvement, the tour guide and sightseeing experiences were definite highlights of the trip.
This was a great trip to see alot in a short amount of time, everything was easy and clear from the moment of booking to arriving on the cruise and all the stops. Our Guide Talaat shared alot of useful information and alot of history about the sites. Would recommend this experience for anyone wanting to explore and see as much as you can in a short period of time 👌
Cruise was a good value for money. I’d recommend it for people who want to learn a bit about the different sites but not for anyone who wants a more in-depth education about the history and places. I’d equate the cruise with a good 3 star hotel experience in Europe. Come well rested as there will be lots of very early morning start times. Cruising down the Nile is an unforgettable experience. Food was varied and very good even though they were cooking for a lot of people. Cabins were larger than we expected with space for both of our suitcases. Beds, pillows and duvets were very comfortable. Our guide was friendly and helpful and kept us on schedule. We appreciated him coordinating the ticket purchases. He had interesting commentary at the different sites.
I had a great experience for the first time in Egypt. The history, historical architectures & arts are amazing. I definitely will come back. Khaled is my tour guide for 4 days cruise. He is very kind & helpful. I’m very please with him. Thank you very much!
It was a trip of a lifetime. My tour guide, Khaled was wonderful, helpful and cheerful. He even helped us find a place to stay after the tour for a very economical price. Thank you Khaled for wonderful memories.
Boat was dated but had good facilities. Comfortable cabins and beds. Staff on board were so pleasant, friendly and kind, they were fabulous. The food selection was excellent and very tasty. Tours to the temples were interesting and the guide gave a different perspective on their history. It's a jam packed few days with all early starts but we were glad to be able to get to do it all including Abu Simbel. Overall good value for a very enjoyable few days
Everything was ok (its a group tour, so everything its gonna be crowded, but thats expected), if you are afraid of the kind of boat you are gonna get in this tour, you shouldn't. The guide Mina know his business and is very helpful with everything. Thanks
Amazing cruise experience and Khaled is a wonderful and knowledgeable guide regarding the history. The boat, while slightly dated, is also in good condition.
My wife and I had an amazing experience with our Tour Guide Khaled who was very informative and experienced in the tour and what he showed us. The accommodation and food on board the cruise was awesome. Would highly recommend as you see so many different temples and do so many activities.
What a ride! Egypt was so much fun, and this cruise was definitely part of it! Everyone was so nice and kind, the tours made us get up early but we got to enjoy the day better, the food was very good (buffet) one day it was even traditional style 🥰 the service was amazing, the housekeeping crew was so funny! the store clerk was very nice, everyone was so interactive, and the tour guide (Khaled El saady) is such a nice man and a very good guide, took us to incredible unbelievable places and explained everything and arranged everything for us. The facilities and rooms are so nice, the only think a bit harder to get used to was the engine noises , but it's normal in a boat :) if you're a light sleeper ~ absolutely recommended if you're thinking of visiting Egypt!
Big Knowledge, friendly, honest and with a great hospitality. We got a great boat with the MS Rennesaince. Food was nice, the staff on the boat amazing. We felt welcomed and in Great Hands, Mina and Carlos are great people and we enjoyed our time.
Very good and experience guides:) kind and really helpful:) booth guides knows history very well and they explaing very well. Big up for mister King Mina and Carlos
Tej experience of Nile Cruise was exceptional! Our guides Mina and Carlos were super nice and helpful. The ship itself very comfy, with great staf, delicious food, nice pool. Highly recommended!
Talaat Abdo was a good guide he got us to know a bit more about ancient Egipto history. Het Cruise is a bit old bus has all the facilites u need and te staff is very nice.
Talaat Abdo was a good guide, got us to know a bit more about ancient egipcian culture and histroy. The Cruise is a bit old but the staff is really nice, we had a great time.
It was a great experience, our guide's preparation in Egyptology is wonderful, he always took care of us and provided us with everything we needed.
Everything was perfect out guide khaled el saady was very polite and always taking care of us, it was a perfect experience he has an amazing knowledge about the egiptian culture and a perfect organization about everything, Thank you so much khaled.
5 out of 5 experience and with our guide Khaled El Saady. We spent the early morning to visit the wonderful site. We wanted to stay longer but unfortunately we were not able as our cruise was leaving
Talaat was the best! I had such a good time, cruising the Nile River. He was very knowledgeable about everywhere that we visited, and made everything so fun. I would highly recommend this cruise with him to anyone, you’re sure to have a great time!
Talaat Abdo , it has been a great experience to meet him , and learn so much about Egyptian Cultura, he is a profesional man who knows very well his job. He is also a nice person , I enjoyed a Lot this Journey.
Talaat Abdo very good guide with great knowledge and very kind, the only thing I didn't like was the time we spent in the spice shop, after that it was all in a hurry to have lunch, this can he improved
We had a wonderful time!!! Nice weather , people and tours. The Rooms and Food very Good as well. We had a trustfull guide , small group so we Can ask all questions . Tallat Abdu had a lot of pacience. The crew was very no e as well, the did very nice towel ART!!!
The guide Talaat Abdo was very good!! He has great knowledge about the history of Egipt, and manage the group very well. He was very kind and interesting. The boat, the crew and all the organization was very good!! Very recommended!
Talaat Abdo was our tour guide he was The best tour guide i have ever seen in Egypt y he tole us many stories about Egypt And The Egyptian history he made pue trip really i really highly recomend him Thanks Talaat for Thai san amazing trip
I highly recommend this tour, the boat is super nice but the best thing about it was our guide Talaat! It was super well organized and he took care of everyone in the group. He knows everything about the temples and the explanations were amazing but also has some tricks to catch less people in places and make things super efficient. He became a friend more than a tour guide!
- The guide was well-prepared and genuinely cared about our experience, ensuring that everyone was satisfied, we truly appreciated that. - We visited most of the important temples on the Nile, I liked that we were given time to visit those temples alone, without a group. - The boat was a bit old, but everything was in good working conditions. - The food was decent and slightly varied(nothing extraordinary, which is fair considering the price) In conclusion, despite small imperfections, it was absolutely worth and I don't regret choosing this tour.
Khaled was my guide for Nile river cruise, he was very responsive via WhatsApp and helped us picking from Airport and getting to cruise
Wasn't sure what to expect initially, but ended up having a really great time on our first ever cruise. Our tour guide, Talaat, knows the land and the sites through and through. He's also good for a laugh and doesn't act like a bland, knowledgable narrator; he has character. He was funny and great at communicating our schedules etc. We really enjoyed him! For a more affordable cruise, the boat was quite nice, but fast paced. Nice rooms (they even have a bath). The blackout curtains in the rooms are amazing, btw (I know you all feel me on the what a treat this is). The buffet meals offered were tasty and offered a lot of variety. The desserts aren't of michelin standard but apparently Gordon Ramsay hasnt been available to work onboard this cruise. Also, you can ask any of the chefs at the buffet about what you can and can't eat if you have any food intolerances. The early morning wake-ups weren't my fav thing in the world, but they ended up being worth it. Try taking your time to have fun with guessing unique hieroglyphics as well. Like all other Egyptian reviews mention, please make sure you have TIPPING money on you at ALL times and make sure you know to BUY YOUR OWN DRINKS (water etc) OFF the boat as they aren’t included and are cheaper elsewhere. Putting caps for emphasise to really drive the point home for skim readers You'll stop at additional spots that provide essential oils, spices etc that AREN'T listed in your schedules, so please be aware. Overall we had a great time and I think this cruise is worth it. You can tick off a bunch of spots in a short, organised period of time. The ship, the ships crew, our tour group and Talaat created an unforgettable experience.
Incredible experience cruising the Nile. Loved seeing so many temples and tombs without the stress of having to plan a thing. Talaat was very knowledgeable about the long history of Egypt and made it super easy for us to visit each site. The cruise itself was excellent. Can’t beat relaxing on a sundeck surrounded by the natural beauty of the Nile. Just note there are so many stops you won’t get a lot of down time, but it’s worth it to see all the sites. The photos of these temples don’t do them justice, you have to see their scale in real life to really appreciate them. My personal favourites stops: Hypostyle Hall, Valley of the Kings and the optional extra Nubian village. Just note as this is Egypt there will be a few extra costs like tipping, paying for attractions and a few optional extra activities. However this was all clear before booking so nothing unexpected.
Fast paced, very nice boat and 9 nice buffets. Tour guide Talaat was a good guide, knowledgeable, good English, and flexible to everyone in the groups needs. Pros: - Organizes otherwise difficult and expensive sites to visit. - Talaat our guide. - Nice boat, comfortable beds, and good food. Cons: - 3 stops at Spice, perfume and Alabaster stores not advertised, guide kick back I assume. - Pricey, with tickets and beverages not included. - 4am wakeup for abu simbel and 6am the second day.
Nice trip to explore Aswan and Luxor for people who want to explore different attraction. Our guide,Talaat is very helpful and friendly throughout the trip.
I have booked this cruise form Aswan to Luxor including Abu Simble. The boat that is provided to us is Queen ISIS and it is nowhere the type shown in the images here. While they mentioned it is a 5 star cruise it is no where near a 2 star hotel. The linen on the beds are dirty and handles broken in the room and washroom. You can handle fit a person in the bath area. The food is terrible with very limited Egyptian food options and the desserts are repeated multiple days. All this comes with the hefty price paid + there is a Mandatory 30 US dollar per person forced tipping policy. The crew however were friendly and helpful in the limited work they have. Khaled the tour guide did his best during our day tours, he could be more engaging while narrating the stories and most of the time is given for self exploration rather than detailed. Overall, this is very overrated booking option and please don't call it a 5 star cruise. Would recommend people to book a hotel in Luxor and do day tours.
Talaat is a amazing guide, he explained everything very well. He guided us very well. We are very happy with him. I would recommended him to my friends.
Khaled was an amazing guide and made sure we were well taken care of with every little detail, and also has two masters in egyptology and answered all my questions. He absolutely gets five stars. The boat and staff were wonderful, the food delicious. The experience was fun and there was some downtime to enjoy the views too. My only problem was that as a solo traveller, I had to pay double what the couples did for the same room. I hope some day we can change this system or make a single room available. Luckily, they did sit us together as a tour group for meals, so it was a lovely time.
Excellent tour, nice sightseeing program that also offer you the flexibility to do this on your own, although I recommend to stay with the tour guide. Khaled El Saady was very helpful and explained us everything!!
We had an amazing time with Tata! Everything was clear, well arranged and so much fun from the beginning till the end. He gave us so much information about the places we visited and whenever we had a question about the monuments or late at night about the programs, he always answered immediately. He created a real dynamic in the group and we were really sad to leave. All the transportation was comfortable and we loved the experience on the boat. Lovely staff, great food, nice room and a really good bed. We warmly recommend Tata!
Talat is an excellent guide, very nice, very knowledgeable. He took very good care of us. Beautiful trip. Experience to absolutely try.
Our guide Kingmina was very knowledgeable and friendly and gave us a satisfying tour. They also coordinated a trouble-free and safe cruise, dealing with the bazaar, requesting no ice at the cafe, changing to bus travel instead of carriages, ensuring drinking water between trips, providing appropriate wake-up calls and information about gatherings, and advising on student discount tickets. It was an emotional and comfortable cruise on the Nile.
Our ship was well equipped and nicely decorated. The cabins offered plenty of storage space and comfortable beds. On deck there were plenty of sun loungers, a pool and seating areas to enjoy the ride. The food was great - very varied and tasty buffet with great selection and The service was courteous. Of course, the most amazing was the excursion program with one highlight after another. Our guide Khaled was very friendly and knew a lot of interesting things to tell and also gave us time to explore the historical sites ourselves.
Khlaed was our guide, competent and organized. Good selection of essential places for a first view of Egypt. Well-prepared meals, kind staff, excellent cost benefit.
Everything is perfect. The guide , the staff, the visits are fabulous, and Egypt is to be made and remade PERFECT
Everything is perfect. The guide, fabulous tours, smiling staff. And Egypt to do and to redo
The cruise is very clean, very organized, the staff is very kind and attentive, the room is very comfortable (ear protectors must be brought because sometimes you can hear the engines during the night, in the movement of the cruise). The food is very good and diverse in the buffet, including we had a theme dinner with traditional Egyptian food. The tours are very well organized and our guide Khaled El Saady is very attentive, professional and very familiar with the history of Egypt. When the tours are very early we take a bag with breakfast. I highly recommend this cruise. The balloon trip is spectacular.
Pleasant, excellent, cruise on the unforgettable Nile. Extremely attentive staff. Meal services very good and overall cleanliness very good. Normal operating noise on a cruise.
Great experience, highly recommend this guide and cruise. We had all the necessary information and everything handled in the most detail.
The trip gives everything you want: to see all the attractions, competent and organized guide, serviceable ship staff, well prepared food and very good accommodation conditions. I recommend 100%
Talaat Abdo. Very good guide! He explained to us all the visits in the temples where we went. We get up very early every day but if not, you don't have time to do everything. He was a majeste, really! At first I was not convinced to do the cruise, as we have always traveled more to battle but in the end we enjoyed it!
Nice schedule. At first I thought it was unreasonable to collect tips uniformly. But the crew on the cruise ship know the rules, it's simple and convenient. The staff are friendly and the director is good.
The ship has been a very good experience: small and family friendly, delicious food, comfortable cabins...what more can you ask for? Our Talaat guide has been another decisive factor in making our experience so enjoyable! Thank you very much to the staff of the Nile Commodoro and especially to our great guide!
