Aswan Botanical Garden With Felucca Ride

Everything was perfect! Our guide Mo was on time and very friendly! The felucca ride was calm, quiet and we enjoyed travelling with it in the river until we reached the gardens. As for the gardens themselves, they were very beautiful and unique to explore! We recommend this activity!

A peaceful and relaxing place in the heart of Aswan. The short boat ride to Kitchener’s Island is enjoyable, and once you arrive, you’re surrounded by exotic plants and tall palm trees. It’s a great spot to walk, take photos, or just sit and enjoy the calm atmosphere with beautiful Nile views. Highly recommended if you want a quiet break from the city.

Sailing down the Nile in Aswan is an experience like no other. As the gentle breeze fills the sail of the felucca, the boat glides calmly over the water, revealing the beauty and timelessness of Egypt’s southern landscapes. The golden dunes of the Sahara meet the lush green riverbanks, creating a contrast that’s both surreal and unforgettable. The silence is broken only by the sound of the water and the occasional call of a bird overhead. Along the way, you pass by ancient temples, palm trees swaying in the wind, and small islands that seem untouched by time. The view of the sunset from the deck is pure magic—fiery colors painting the sky as the sun disappears behind the hills.

Had a great morning with Mo, our guide in Aswan. We took the motor boat to the botanical gardens and then a fulucca back to our boat. Lovely gardens and I would highly recommend this trip and request Mo.

Our guide, Mido, picked us up from our hotel but we were horrified by the state of the car, which was old and filthy. Fortunately, it was only a short drive to the felucca dock. We set sail on the felucca and after several tacks into the head wind, the main rope from the top of the mast to the sail broke. One of the two crew scaled the mast with the ease of a monkey (no health & safety rules apparent in Egypt!) and tried to repair the break, without success, meaning that the boat was very difficult to control. After about 45 minutes, we eventually got towed to Kitchener Island, site of the Botanical Gardens. We visited the gardens during a previous visit to Egypt many years ago and wanted to go again. Mido showed us around and many of the enormous and impressive trees have plaques on them showing their names in Latin, English and Arabic. However, the gardens are beginning to look a bit scruffy. Mido was very personable and invited us to visit him in his Nubian village. Unfortunately, we did not have time to take him up on his kind offer. While we were visiting the gardens, the two boatmen managed to repair the felucca sail, so our journey back to Aswan was fairly quick and uneventful. Unfortunately, we were returned to our hotel in another dilapidated, dirty car. Let’s just say that it was an ‘interesting’ excursion!

Amazing tour. Felucca boats help you capture the culture of the Nile. Botanical gardens are also nice. Recommend doing this trip closer to sunset

Very fun afternoon! Boat ride was perfect- cruising on the Nile, botanical gardens were beautiful. Dua, our guide, was fantastic. She shared interesting knowledge all about the Nile, traditional boat we were on and eqypt history broadly. Saw sunset and had tea all the on nile - perfect afternoon and highly recommend!

We had a great trip with felucca ride and saw the nicest place and enjoyed the plants look like a picnic but with magical feeling on the Nile river. The guide was good and the boat crew was helpful. And we drunk a delicious hot tea.
