We went on a cruise for 4 days with a private tour guide. Ahmet was perfect-he was knowledgeable, nice, organized, full of ideas, he made our experience of Aswan and Luxor something special to remember. Also crew on the boat was well organized and always there to help and really nice. Cabins were large enough, nice and clean, food was good. Unfortunately our hot air balloon flight was cancelled due to the bad weather.
Amazing trip, covering many of the most prolific and interesting sites of the incredible history that Egipt has to offer. The guide we were provided with, Ahmed Saleh Sultan was increadibly knowledgeable on the history and culture, while also making sure we were always aware of what to expect and how to deal with the local specifics and customs. Without a guide like him, this trip would never be as interesting or satisfying.

We booked our tour in last-minute through Mohamed Sultan, who is keen to assist us and address our needs of the cruise tour. Good offers and within our expectations. The local tour guide Gamal Hegazy (Jimmy) at Luxor is also very nice and he explained everything clearly. Good to have him helping us take our pictures, which well wraps up our days in Aswan/Luxor.

The cruise was very good. The food was delicious, the beds were comfortable, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The guide who accompanied us on most of the tours was excellent and spoke good English. The only tour that wasn’t with our guide was in a large group (by bus) when it was supposed to be a small group, as described. However, we still had a great time. I recommend that, for the visit to the Temple of Horus, the horse-drawn carriage ride be replaced with a tuk-tuk if possible. The way the Egyptians treat the horses was very upsetting, as we saw them being beaten during the ride. Finally, what we didn’t like was the mandatory minimum tipping for everything. We didn’t agree with this system and preferred to give what we could.
We have just finished our 4 day Nile cruise from Aswan and loved every minute of the cruise and sightseeing . Our guide Ahmed was exceptionally good . He has a great love for Egyptian history and his knowledge is astounding , We learnt so much from Ahmed ! Nile cruise has always been on our bucket list. This cruise made it very convenient to see all the temples , sights and even a hot air balloon ride over the West Bank, which was incredible. We had a private tour guide, Gamal who was extremely knowledgeable, charismatic and went above and beyond to make sure we got the most out of every tour.

I would highly recommend this tour from aswan, We had Khaled as our guide and he was incredibly knowledgeable about the area and Egyptian history in general. We appreciated his detailed explanations about all the sites and felt very comfortable we got to enjoy a Nile cruise ride as well. We saw many more sights than we were expecting all along the nile. Experience Date: Oct 25, 2023 Experience Time: 10:30 AM 4 Days Nile Cruise from Aswan to Luxor Including Abu Simbel & Hot Air Balloon As a frequent traveler who has traveled and stayed at numerous hotels & resorts worldwide, I am writing to express our extreme disappointment with the recent experience we booked as a group of 5 travelers from the Let’s Discover Egypt tour operator listed on the Tripadvisor platform. I am not sure what the vetting process is for allowing tour operators to use the Tripadvisor platform but the Let’s Discover Egypt tour operator displayed a fundamental lack of transparency by willfully disseminating misleading information on your platform that led unsuspecting buyers like ourselves, who trust the Tripadvisor Brand, to spend our hard-earned money in booking a once-in-a-lifetime 5-star experience which amounted to a bait-and-switch scheme involving a last minute change to our bookings that would eliminate all cancellation and rebooking options ultimately resulting in an overwhelmingly disappointing experience for all parties involved. Prior to booking the activity, I attempted to do my due diligence by researching reviews of similarly advertised Nile cruises where complaints centered around people being assigned to vessels that were not 5-star quality and passengers being exposed to constant noise and diesel fumes throughout the duration of the cruise from cabins located close to the vessel engine room. I then reached out to the Let’s Discover Egypt tour operator directly who assured me that all their accommodations are on 5-star vessels and that if we were to book, our assigned cabins would be located away from the engine room. Armed with that confidence and anticipating a 5-star experience, we proceeded to book the activity on the Tripadvisor platform. 2 days before our cruise was scheduled to begin, I received a call from Mohamed the Let’s Discover Egypt tour operator with our cruise vessel assignment which was to be the MS Odyssey. Mohamed further explained that we had a choice between the MS Odyssey and the MS Renaissance but strongly recommended the former as being the better of the 2 cruise vessels. On the day of our cruise and less than an hour before checking in, Mohamed the Let’s Discover Egypt tour operator notified us that we would no longer be sailing on the MS Odyssey cruise vessel but instead were now being reassigned to the MS Renaissance cruise vessel. When questioned about the reason for the change, we were told that cruise boarding arrivals were on a first come, first serve basis and that the MS Odyssey was apparently already fully booked as of the time of our arrival. After I brought up the fact that Mohamed had originally pointed out the MS Renaissance as being an inferior vessel, he stated that it was only the food and not the vessel which was inferior. Upon eventually arriving at our newly assigned vessel the MS Renaissance, we soon found that the on-board accommodations were extremely underwhelming and certainly did not come close to meeting our expectations for the experience that we had booked. It was at this point we learned that the globally recognized 5-star standard for accommodations, restaurants and experiences worldwide did not apply when it came to Nile cruises in Egypt. According to Mohamed the Let’s Discover Egypt tour operator, Nile cruises in Egypt apparently have a 3-tiered classification system within the 5-star rating category broken down into 5-star Standard, 5-star Deluxe and 5-star Luxury. When compared to globally recognized 5-star standards, the 3-tiered classification system in Egypt is equivalent to the following levels: 5-star Standard = 3-star 5-star Deluxe = 4-star 5-star Luxury = 5-star This fundamental lack of transparency was obviously highly misleading and confusing to customers like us who were spending their hard-earned money with the expectation of receiving a 5-star quality experience. Our group of 5 travelers consisting of 2 couples had 3 cabins but unfortunately none of the cabins specifically assigned to the couples had either king or queen beds, instead there were 2 twin beds in each cabin. The front desk cruise staff offered to relocate us but their inventory was limited to cabins that were close to the engine room which given the potential for constant noise and diesel fumes would render them less than ideal to sleep in. The fifth member of our party was not so lucky because her cabin ended up being situated right next to the engine room and by the last night of the cruise, she had become physically ill, while experiencing migraines from the constant noise and nausea from the diesel fumes. When we expressed dissatisfaction with our accommodations, Mohamed the Let’s Discover Egypt tour operator blamed us for our apparent failure to specify our preferred cabin bed type when booking the cruise although this option was not indicated anywhere during the booking process. The harsh realization of what we paid for versus what we were getting especially that late in the game left us with absolutely no options. Even if we wanted to cancel and rebook ourselves onto a different cruise it would have been virtually impossible to do so; because at that point in time, all of the cruises were completely sold out. At the end of the day for all intents and purposes, we paid for a 5-star experience but at best, only received a 3-star experience. Buyer Beware!
Firstly my welcome to the place was great. The tour guide and the driver we so welcoming. The second part the experience they had about the places we visited. You could tell that they are informed of the tour and locations. I was blown away by the building I have never seen in my life. The information and the background history about the buildings was amazingly detailed and very informative. Besides my guide, the people we met we so happy to welcome tourist in their land. I felt at home and safe. I enjoyed the food so much I must say. I will bring my family here again.

They helped us with Abu Simble, Nubian village, Luxor Hot Air Balloon, the Nile cruise and finally private transportation to Hurghada in the Red Sea. My wife and i did a 3 day cruise from Aswan to Luxor, which is a pleasant way to navigate the multiple sites to see. We used the Nile symphony cruise ship which is a beautifully modern spacious ship, with excellent food and service. Our Guide Gamal was a knowledgeable, experienced guide, and was really understanding of our kids ebbing energy! I am an experienced traveller and let me tell you, if you want to see the temples and Egyptian top sites going on this cruise is the best way. Everything is simplified for you with a rich itinerary to provide the best experience. Otherwise, you would be driving for hours or taking long train rides daily to get to these must see locations. Our group of 6 was given an option to upgrade to a private group and assigned Gamaal as our guide. Boy are we happy that we did! Gamaal enriched our experience with his thorough knowledge of history and area. It is evident that he is passionate and dedicated to his craft. He was very thorough with communicating all the details of the itinerary. Above all, we felt that he treated us as a family and not just another group of tourists. All in all, my family was very happy we chose this cruise and received Gamaal as our guide. Cannot recommend highly enough. A+

Excellent views and spectacular tours... the temples were breathtaking, and with Gamaal's expertise in describing the ancient depictions, the heiroglyphs sprang to life before our very eyes... his passion for his craft was easy to see and brightened all of our experiences, large and small. Would highly recommend, you won't regret it! Important Side Note: left my passport on a plane, and Gamaal went above and beyond his call-of-duty to fascilitate its return to me (we were in Aswan, it was in Cairo). I was able to enjoy my cruise as planned and he took care of all the heavy lifting in retrieving it for me, stress free on our part. There are no words to describe how thankful I was, and still am! If anyone asks, this was the only way to see the Nile and its temples, hands down.

My gf and I just finished our 4 day trip down the Nile from Aswan to Luxor. We were lucky enough to have Galem as our guide! He was very informative, well spoken English, and made sure we felt comfortable in all situations. We were not with a big group most of the time, but Galem had all our transportation and admission tickets organized in advanced. He was also able to read hieroglyphics which was super cool. Definitely recommend the trip and requesting Galem as a guide!
Gamal was our tour guide for our trip down the Nile river. We cruised from Aswan to Luxor, seeing many fantastic locations along the way, including Abu Simbel. Gamal was a great guide, who balanced teaching us about the history and significance of each site with allowing us to have free time to explore and enjoy the sites on our own. He was knowledgeable, spoke great English, and was on time for all visits. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide! He also helped us to schedule an extra excursion that wasn’t on our original itinerary. If you can request a guide, choose Gamal!
This tour was an amazing experience that I had never had before! Our tour guide, Tarek, was excellent and had a vast knowledge of the history, culture, and religion of Egypt, which allowed us to understand many things about each heritage site we visited. He was the best guide I have ever met! The cruise was also great. Our room was clean and had a big window with a view of the Nile River. The food was served buffet-style and all the dishes were delicious! The tour schedule was well-organized, and we had enough time for sightseeing and shopping. We were initially concerned about transportation, security, and visiting time, but everything went smoothly. One more thing I want to mention is that the tour company was amazing! Unfortunately, we couldn't participate in the hot air balloon ride on the 4th day due to personal reasons, but the tour company accepted the refund of the cost of the ride. Before the trip, they kindly instructed us on how to meet the tour guide, and during the tour, they even sent messages to confirm our satisfaction. In short, I highly recommend this tour if you want to experience the history and culture of Egypt and have an amazing time there!
This was the best cruise we had in recent times. Let’s discover Egypt went beyond expectations. They arranged for pick up from Airbnb in Aswan which was not showing up even on google map! They talked to our host and did all to make sure to pick us up on time. Our guide Mr Gamal was kind, helpful, respectful, vey knowledgeable and took us to all the attractions listed in the itinerary on time. He explained everything in lot of details and made us aware of rich history behind of all these monuments. Kudos to him for being one of the best in the business. Cruise ship Blue Shadow 3 was in good condition, clean, comfortable with very good clean rooms, very good restaurant, lounge and upper deck. Whole staff was very helpful and friendly. Didn’t have any issues at all throughout the trip. We were happy to choose this cruise. I will highly recommend this to anyone who is thinking about taking any Nile cruise. It packs a lot in 4 days and all in comfortable van with your guide who will stay with from day 1 to guide you Again thanks to Let’s discover Egypt to make this cruise a truly memorable one
We took the Nile cruise on our 10-day trip to Egypt in Dec 2022 and loved it. Our tour was with “Let’s discover Egypt”, they were very responsive and everything was well planned. Our tour guides were all on time and knowledgeable, all transportation/meals were arranged and the Nile Boat was decent. Something to keep in mind is we had very early starts almost every day (3:30am-5:30am) due to the number of places/activities (Edfu, Abu Simbel, Hot Air Balloon), the program is intense and not a relaxing type, think of the cruise as a mean of transportation between Aswan and Luxor. We enjoyed the cruise and I highly recommend this tour specially if you’re short on time and want to maximize your experience. Can’t wait to go back!
This company made it very easy for us from the time we arrived in Aswan to when left from Luxor. They did a great job organizing each day and making sure we had a guide at every port. They accommodated our flexible plans as well. The trip was so much fun, and we learned a lot while making the most of our time on the Nile. Highlight was the balloon ride over Luxor!!
We had a great time on the Nile Cruise, and we had some great guides along the way. I believe it is random which boat you get, depending on what day you depart. Our ship, the Adonis, was a bit past its heyday, but it had everything we needed, and so much of the time you are exploring off the boat anyway. There was one other pair from this tour operator on the same boat as us, so we travelled together on each excursion. We had a different guide in each location who would meet us at reception once the boat had docked and take us to see the sights. We saw everything as listed on the itinerary. Its a very full-on itinerary, with some very early mornings, but well worth it to see everything. The hot air balloon is a must-do! Our only gripe was communication between the tour company and us. The tour company was obviously in contact with all of the tour guides and drivers, but we didn't necessarily know what was going on, and just had to trust that it was all organised. A more concrete itinerary with estimated times given to us at the start of the trip would have been very useful. We also did not receive the bottled water as written on the inclusions. We would still very much recommend this tour, it's a great way to see Egypt, and all of our tour guides were great.
Great cruise! Got to choose our room, staff g friendly and helpful, clean facilities. We had a few travel probs with bus to Abu simbel breaking down but your company ensured we didn’t miss any of the sights. Awesome balloon ride. Good guides at the sites. Recommend!
