We had an amazing experience cruising from Aswan to Luxor. The cruise itself was fantastic, with beautiful scenery along the Nile, but what really made the experience special was our guide, Mohamed Ahmed. He was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and passionate about Egyptian history and culture. You can tell that he loves what he does! We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommended to anyone considering this cruise.

It differs from other temples because of its double entrance, each one is dedicated to divinity: "Haroeris" with his falcon head and " Sobek " with his crocodile head. Mohamed Ahmed was our guide, he was excellent! He is an amazing English speaker, very knowledgeable and has an amazing sense of humor! We had lots of fun and learned a lot! We would advise him to everyone!
The cruise was really good! Exceeded my expectations. The rooms were very nice and the food was amazing! But the best part was our tour guide, Mohamed Ahmed. He was very experienced and passionate about egyptian history. The visits to the temples were so interesting and a lot due to our amazing guide.
Amazing experience, we were with Unlimited Tours on the "Nile Story" cruise. We travelled on our honeymoon and they managed to get us un upgrade to Suite cabin, which was great! Food and service was simply excellent. Our private spanish speaking guide, Mohamed, was absolutely the best! He took great care of us and was very knowledgable in Egyptian history and mythology. He was also very flexible to modify the itinerary when needed due to schedules of the boat, etc, to suit our trip on the best possible way. We highly recommend him and Unlimited tours!
We booked this cruise after seeing so many positive reviews here. buyer beware! Either people are flat out lying or just being nice, but this was our honest experience from the sailing of 10/28-10/31 on MS KAHILA The positives: the cruise assists with every aspect of transportation and logistics, and doesn’t charge extra for any airport transfers or additional sites you want to add. The cruise was a convenient and safe way to see the highlights of ancient Egypt. The cruise staff quickly learned who we were and understood our preferences. It is a very reasonable price. The cruise has a lovely roof deck. The mediocre: the accommodations were fine. The cruise is really inexpensive, so you know you aren’t getting luxury. Clean and acceptable. The food was generally fine. Nothing to write home about but edible and always found something I liked for every meal. The cruise staff were a mixed bag. Some were very nice, some were rude. Upon check-in we were told to leave our passports at the desk and that we’d get them back at dinner. This was concerning to us for obvious reasons, but we reluctantly complied as our guide told us it was “normal”. We checked with some other guests that yes, they took everyone’s passport. Then after dinner we went back to the front desk to collect our passports. They told us no, we’d get them tomorrow. At that point we insisted firmly that we get our passports back. I have no idea what the hassle was about, but it made us very uncomfortable and the cruise staff was clearly ticked off with us. Another time, I was yelled at for taking water in the dining area. I was told that I had to be charged for it. It made me feel infantilized, as they do provide 1 water bottle per guest per day, but I needed some more water. The cruise is not strict with timing concerning being back on the ship on time to sail. That said, the guides and excursions are booked through the ship, so if some groups were late, it was on the cruise line to stay. There were probably about a dozen (if not more) other cruises on the Nile at the same time as us. They truly all looked the same and they all connect up so you walk through other ships lobbies to get in and out of the ship. Our guide was fine. We had some miscommunications here and there, but overall he did an OK job. I do question if what he was telling us was accurate, but oh well. The biggest issue is that he kept switching up which time we would meet him at, which caused us confusion and stress at times. The bad: the worst aspect of this cruise is that all of the cruises and bus tours are on the same schedule. Down to the minute, you are lining up for sites and docking at exactly the same place as hundreds and hundreds of other people. I understand this is a popular tourist destination! I am a part of that issue! But the Egyptian tourist authorities do not limit the amount of people going in and out of sites at a given time, and you end up aligning schedules with every other person on a Nile Cruise that day. I would equate it to the Vatican in terms of the amount of crowding at the sites, except at least the Vatican has timed entry tickets!!Seriously, imagine seeing these incredible sites and having to elbow your way through so many people because of poor management. I asked our guide why the cruises line up schedules and don’t stagger it more, and he had no answer. It just is what it is. It really took away from our experience in Egypt as a whole. Additionally, there was one site in which we took a horse drawn carriage to the temple. This was not optional, we were simply told we were doing it and that was that. How horrible these horses are treated, you can see their ribs and they have children working these horse drawn carriages. It was horrific, and if it were up to me I would have never taken it, but it wasn’t an option. Overall: this is a convenient and safe way to see the Egyptian sites, but expect crowding beyond belief if you choose to do the cruise. The highs were high but the lows were low.
Mostafa our private tour guide was excellent, very knowledgeable and happy to take extra time answering all questions. Highly recommend Mostafa for private tour. Nile Story crew and staff all very welcoming, happy and respectful. Room was clean massage was amazing
The service what exceptional we had a wonderful time, however need more entertainment on the evening.
This tour was outstanding. They arranged everything other than hotel choices in Cairo. You are met by representatives from the moment you get to immigration till the moment you fly out. Comms are excellent throughout and it is totally seamless. Our guide Salama is a gem and is now my Facebook friend. He knew it all and shared openly. His passion for Egypt is infectious and he is the main reason I will return. One shortcoming was the disastrous internet speed on the boat ( less than 500 kbps) made internet almost unusable, even for running a basic search engine.
The boat its self was 5* the facilities and food was varied and good quality. The tour didn’t get going for a day but when it did it was well organised.
The staff of the boat is nice and always caring. They were adorable to our child. The room was comfortable.
Great guide, Emad (not sure spelling) was great and very helpful and kept us safe and secure. He always provided great drivers and knew all the shortcuts 😉. We booked additional balloon and falucca trips through him, amazing! Do not miss those, especially balloon, a trip of a lifetime. The cruise was better than expected and all the staff so friendly and helpful. This was a cannot miss experience!
We had a wonderful experience on our Nile cruise from Aswan to Luxor, and I would highly recommend it! Our guide, Nour, was absolutely brilliant from start to finish. He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, patient and always happy to help. He explained the history of all the amazing places we visited in such an interesting and informative way, which really made the whole experience even more special. A special thank you also goes to Mr. Mohamed Mostafa, the owner, who was incredibly helpful and professional. We encountered a problem at the beginning of our trip, but he went above and beyond to resolve the situation and make sure everything was put right. His customer service and genuine care for his guests were greatly appreciated. The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the level of service and attention we received. Overall, a fantastic experience with lovely people who genuinely care about making your trip memorable. A huge thank you to Nour and Mr. Mohamed Mostafa for everything. We would definitely recommend booking with them!
Emed was amazing and so much knowledge. Friendly, polite and patient, not easy when on a tour with so many other tour groups around. He always seemed to know a shortcut and the right time to go at each stop. We would give 6 stars if possible. This was a trip of lifetime for us and he did not disappoint. HIGHLY recommend 😀
Recently back from an incredible cruise from Aswan to Luxor on our honeymoon. We had the most amazing time. Staff on the boat could not have been more friendly or lovely to us. Nothing was too much trouble or bother, had a good sense of humour which was lovely to see so many people happy at work. Our trip would not have been as spectacular without our tour guide, Sayed Taie. His knowledge and understanding on the history of each place was impeccable! He made us feel so comfortable throughout and made us his top priority. Sayed was enthusiastic and made us feel at home, making sure everything was taken care of. Nobody hasselled us at all and we were well looked after, always with a big smile on all our faces! He also organised with boat staff for a cake and a traditional wedding song/dance as a treat one evening during dinner. We loved it and every moment. If anyone is thinking of going to Egypt this is the tour guide for you, he is the highlight!! This is an experience you will never forget. Sayed went above and beyond every step of the way, only ask for him whilst booking. You will not regret it!! The BEST tour guide in Egypt!!!
We had Naggar Boghdady as our guide, and he did an excellent job! He explained everything clearly and was very flexible in adapting the time spent at each attraction to our wishes and needs. All the sights were beautiful, but the hot air balloon ride was definitely the highlight of our trip.
Tours of all the sights. Highly knowledgeable guide Hassan Saadi who was excellent.
These 4 days and 3 nights were incredible! No better way to visit the Egyptian history than with our tour guide Salama! Always ready to help, passionate about Egypt and its culture, providing all the relevant information while at the same time gave us time for ourselves to discover at our own pace! The cruise, the service, the atmosphere, the food, the staff, the transportation, everything was well planned and prepared! Thank you Egypt Unlimited Tours and thank you Salama for a great experience!
This is a wonderful company to deal with and see the sights and history of this wonderful country. I would recommend using this company. The guides are amazing g. We had a guide Salama. He was so passionate and knowledgeable. He became a friend and we still keep in contact after we left Egypt. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for us. All to make our trip memorable. This company is so organised that they are there with you the money you arrive by plane till the time we departed. Fully recommend as tour guides.
Fabulous experience with our awesome guide Salama. He was very knowledgeable, fun and a lovely person. The Ship was great and the tours and adventures were fabulous and full of history. Felucca trip on the Nile and hot air balloon were highlights. Fully recommend this tour
We did the 4 day, 3 night cruise on Blue Shadow with full board, only thing that wasn’t included was drinks, our package also included Abu Simbel, private transportation to all sites, entrance tickets and private tour guide. Everything was amazing, the ship was fast, clean and the staff was great. Food was decent with various options. Our drivers were all punctual, safe drivers and the cars were all new with great Ac for the heat. Our tour guide Hassan el Shazly was the highlight of our trip, he was amazing, he is full of knowledge and fun facts that made the tours feel interesting and not like a classroom history lesson. He also took time to make sure we had great pictures, if you have the chance definitely request him! Mohammed the operator of Egypt unlimited set everything up great, he made sure the trip was seamless. Definitely great people to work with that will make your trip memorable. We felt safe in every step of our trip and that is priceless.
Egypt Unlimited were a very easy company to work with. They answered any questions quickly. We were assigned Blue Shadow 3 which was a very nice boat. The staff were exceptional. The only real downside was the food became repetitive, although it was excellent. Our tour guide was Noor. Everything was arranged to a very high standard. Noor was a wealth of knowledge and a very nice person. Overall it was a wonderful trip and the highlight of our visit to Egypt.

MS Suntimes is a super boat to be on to cruise the Nile. Lovely staff, great food and entertainment. Our room was lovely too. The highlight for us was Ahmed our guide - he was fabulous with SO much knowledge on the history of the Egyptians.
We had a really great experience with Anwar. From the beginning, everything was well arranged and we didn’t have to worry about the details — we could simply enjoy the trip. The itinerary was very reasonable and well paced, and Anwar was professional, knowledgeable, patient, and attentive throughout. He always took the time to explain things clearly, never rushed us, and paid attention to the small details that made the whole experience much more comfortable. Traveling in Egypt can sometimes involve a lot of logistics, so having someone reliable taking care of everything made a big difference. We were very satisfied with the experience and would happily recommend Anwar to others.
Booked through Viator and not really knowing what to expect. We ended up on the Amwaj Livingstone which seemed to be one of the nicer cruisers - call it upper middle class. All the crew worked hard and were consistently very friendly. The food was good and varied from meal to meal. The room was comfortable and quiet. The only niggle was that the wifi wasn’t very good. The real gem was our guide, Moustafa. Just a very nice man: knowledgeable, personable, patient and funny. The excursions from the Aswan High Dam to the Valley of the Kings three days later were all very interesting and very enjoyable. Moustafa was a key ingredient to our wonderful experience.
My friends and I had the most amazing time exploring Egypt and its ancient histories through this tour package. From the get go, we were looked after by the most amazing Egyptologist tour guide called Hassan. He had a wealth of knowledge about ancient Egyptian history and could almost answer any questions asked. He was very accommodating and made sure that we were well hydrated throughout the tour. Hassan also gave us some advice about how much to tip and how to avoid scams. He was very helpful throughout the trip and made us feel safe. The tour itself was very organised, some of which we had to get up early mornings but it was all worth it to beat the crowds. We went for a 4-day cruise which we all felt was enough to see and explore Aswan and Luxor. Admission fees were all included in this package apart from Abu Simbel and the Ramses tomb at the Valley of the Kings. However, would definitely recommend paying extra fees to visit these places as they are just amazing and so well preserved. Hassan also gave us plenty of time to take photos after explaining the history of the place. The cruise was very clean and provided nice food and entertainment. The only issue we had at the start was the air conditioning but this was quickly settled afterwards. Overall, very happy and very satisfied to have gone on this trip. Truly one of the most unforgettable vacation of my life! Would definitely recommend this tour company and this tour guide
Both the cruise by Egypt Unlimited and our private tour guide Hassan were incredibly welcoming, accommodating to our needs and determined to make our travels from Aswan to Luxor an amazing journey! The cruise crew were always on hand if we needed anything, there was entertainment (Egyptian music, belly dancing) at night, and many facilities to relax (lounge, sun deck etc). Specifically, we highly recommend our private tour guide Hassan, who was so knowledgeable about the history of Ancient Egypt and the temples we visited. He was always so organised that we were able to beat the crowds, go to the best spots in the temples for both historical fun facts and great photos! He made sure to take care of our needs by giving us genuine advise on the most worth it sights and experiences. He even went the extra mile to show us around the Aswan market, took us on a horse carriage ride and ensured we experienced the best version of Egypt!! (Make sure you ask for Hassan!) Team Ramesses 2026!!!
Amazing tour with Egypt Unlimited and the best tour guide, Hassan, who was incredibly knowledgeable and patient with us. He explained everything about ancient Egypt so clearly and did a fantastic job of highlighting the important elements of each site, which was especially helpful given how overwhelming the amount of information could be. From pick-up to drop-off, everything was exceptionally well organised and the timings were consistently punctual. Hassan also made sure we stayed well hydrated throughout the day, particularly in the 40°C desert heat, and took excellent care of us throughout the tour. I would not hesitate to book another tour with Egypt Unlimited, and having a guide like Hassan made our Egyptian experience even more memorable. Thank you, Egypt Unlimited and Hassan, for an unforgettable experience! Highly recommended.
We had a lovely 4 day cruise from Aswan to Luxor with Unlimited, and Hassan was an excellent tour guide throughout the trip. He was incredibly supportive, accommodating and well organised, making sure all the tours and activities ran smoothly and that everything was taken care of. Hassan was also very knowledgeable about Egyptian history and brought the sites to life with interesting stories and explanations. He was always happy to answer questions and made the experience enjoyable and relaxed. A big thank you to Hassan and the Unlimited team for making our Nile cruise such a memorable experience. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to explore Egypt! 🇪🇬✨
We are a couple and we took the 4-day Nile River Cruise from Aswan to Luxor. We had a marvelous experience and this was coupled by having “Mo” as our private tour guide. We are also delighted that we booked this with Egypt Unlimited since they provided concierge service right from the get go, with a personal greeter when we arrived at Aswan airport, and an airport escort when we departed from Luxor. What made the trip truly remarkable was our assigned private tour guide, Mo, who is not only a delightful person, but also a knowledgeable Egyptologist, and an excellent ambassador for Egypt Unlimited and his country. We highly recommend booking with Egypt Unlimited and ask for Mo!
Travellers should be advised of extreme weather ie high temperatures and it is not suitable for the elderly and people that have high blood pressure and heart conditions. We were aware of the optional tours ( Abu Simbel and hot air balloon) start very early. Although we were advised that all other tours start at 8 am ,we had to leave at 4.30 am for Edfu temple. There are too many tours crammed into the 4 day cruise. Travellers should be advised of additional costs for some tours eg visiting other tombs , unnecessary tipping at the tour sites and high prices of food and cool drinks for tourists. There are no safety measures in place in case of an emergency at the tour sites. There was no safety briefing on the boat prior to leaving Aswan .
This tour was definitely worth it to not have to worry about navigating on our own. I feel it was the best way to see all the temples on our list. It was also great having a private guide. The staff on the cruise were all very friendly and professional. The food didn’t agree with us but overall for a little cruise ship it wasn’t bad. I would recommend this if you want to see a lot of temples and just for the experience of cruising the Nile river.
Mohamad was an amazing guide. His English is excellent and his knowledge about the sites we visited was great. He tended to the safety and requirements of our group of women with grace and kindness.
The trip started with a meet and greet at Aswan airport. The river boat representative was there to meet us and to hard us off to our private guide. The river boat was nice with a lounge and bar and also a pool/spa on the top deck. Breakfast/lunch and dinner was buffet style on a lower deck. Food was mostly local menus. The cabin was good size and the bathroom was reasonable size. The shower was hot and strong pressure. The tours Itenerary were arranged by tour boat company. Our guide Sam, was with us for all tours, arranged for the tickets. He was very knowledgeable about all the Egyptian temples that we visited and provided not only the historical facts, but all the back-stories.he was funny and engaging. He also arranged the private car and drivers for the excursions, including the boat ride to visit the Temple of Philae.
We had a fabulous four-day, three-night cruise experience aboard the Lady Mary. From the very beginning, Rania was incredibly helpful with organizing everything. She was always prompt, responsive, and helped us put together an itinerary that worked perfectly for our family. Our guide, Ahmed, was absolutely amazing with the kids and quickly became like a real friend to us during the trip. We asked if we could have a slightly different touring style to better accommodate our family and the way we travel with children, and he was extremely understanding and accommodating. He truly helped make the entire experience enjoyable and fun for the kids. The Lady Mary itself was a beautiful boat, and our suite was lovely with stunning views with openable windows. The crew was fabulous. The pacing of the cruise was excellent, and we really enjoyed all of the places we visited along the way. Overall, it was a wonderful and memorable experience, and we would highly recommend this four-day, three-night cruise.
Mohammed and Egypt Unlimited Tours planned our travel along Upper Nile region and Cairo. We’d like to pinpoint something that could have gone better, just to make this review sound more authentic and to contribute in an improvement but we can’t find out anything. The assistance from booking, to airport formalities and then all along the trip was absolutely spotless. Our guides, Ahmed for the Nile region and Amal for Cairo, were not only very professional. Apart from all the interesting notions they shared with us, they were the most nice people to spend time with and to talk about culture and daily life. We should also mention that the local food we tasted was simply delicious. We absolutely recommend Egypt Unlimited Tours for your visit. Egypt is an amazing country and the recent opening of GEM museum in Cairo is the perfect excuse to start planning a trip. Daniela and Filippo Ps. A short note on the current unstable international situation (we are in May 2026) Egypt is a perfectly safe Country to travel to, as Mohamed assured us before leaving.
The experience.om the boat was wonderful, truly top notch. But our tour guide was terrible. He was abrasive, condescending, and not particularly informed. I would have been better served with a pre-taped audio guide.
Absolutely amazing. The tour guide was fantastic and you get to see so much. The days are quite full on as there is so much to see and learn but the cruise was definitely the best part of the trip. Totally worth it.
Great experience. We didn't have to worry about anything. Everything was so well planned. Even when the cruise was stuck due to a windstorm and we couldn't visit Luxor and Karnak temples as scheduled, our guide changed the next day schedule to accommodate everything. That brings us to the star of the show: Salama. Passionate, funny and an expert in every subject. He made our experience a 1000% better. This trip wouldn't have been the same without such a good guide
Emad was an excellent guide throughout. Very knowledgeable and was a person guide throughout the trip, definitely the highlight. Overall the boat was in great condition, however it was unfortunate that the cruise did have an issue part way through the journey.
brilliant private guide on a smaller boat used by a lot of Egyptian people. clean and great food and service .Guide gave us information on each place and allowed us some free time to explore ourselves .
The cruise ship was excellent. Everything was spotless, the cabin was spacious, and the bed was large and very comfortable. The cruise staff deserves special mention; they were incredibly friendly and attentive at all times. But the most amazing part of the trip was our guide, Mohamed, who not only showed us the historical monuments of the area but also taught us about Egyptian history and culture, explaining their customs and the reasons behind them. A highly recommended experience.
Mohammed is the best agent I ever worked with. All expectations are met with Care and Consideration. He goes the extra mile for every single thing and every single person
We had a wonderful time in Egypt and would like to sincerely thank both our guide, Salama, and the cruise staff. Staying on the cruise was a real pleasure - we felt very well taken care of throughout the trip. Our guide Salama has more than 20 years of experience as a guide, and we learned so much from him, not only about the historical sites but also about navigating Egyptian society and culture. We can highly recommend him and/or having your own guide, as it gives you much more flexibility, allows you to reach locations more efficiently, and makes it easier to adjust plans along the way. It is useful to know that restaurant and transport workers are very depended on tip from tourists so ensure to always have some Egyptian pounds on you. The price did not differ too much between a private guide and being a part of a bigger group. The temples were stunning and we can recommend to see some of the temples and tombs not included in this tour. However, it’s worth bearing in mind that guides often collaborate with local businesses. In our case, we visited both a perfume shop and an Egyptian ceramics workshop/store. These places seem to be quite isolated and difficult to reach without a guide, which makes it hard to research their quality or pricing in advance. As guides receive commission, there can be strong encouragement to visit these, and the sales approach can be quite intense. We ended up in a ceramic store where we initially was encouraged to just have a look, but it was difficult to leave without buying anything. The visit felt very staged: during the introduction to their craft, the seller had colleagues working behind him, echoing everything he said. As North Europeans, even though it may have been intended as entertainment, we found the experience overwhelming. Later, when browsing the store, they would not provide prices upfront when we asked, instead encouraging us to select some items first and they would give a ”good” deal. For three small candleholders, we were quoted over €200. While bargaining is expected, it remained challenging to reach reasonable prices. We understand that the candleholders might be of high quality but it does not justify those prices, in a country where the inflation is very high and prices low. In the end, it felt almost impossible to leave without making a purchase, and we left with a single but very expensive candleholder, regretting it immediately after leaving the place. When we passed the same store later on with the car, no one was sitting there working anymore, which further reinforced how staged the visit had felt. Just remember that you are never obliged to buy anything, even if you are offered drinks and an introduction. Apart from that, we are very happy with the experience: breathtaking temples, a very knowledgeable guide, and many delicious Egyptian dishes made this a truly memorable trip.
We had a wonderful experience touring the temples of Aswan and Luxor. Our guide, Ahmed, was extremely knowledgeable and provided great insight into each of the sites we visited. He explained the history, symbolism, and significance in a way that made everything much more meaningful. We truly appreciated his professionalism and would highly recommend him to anyone visiting Egypt.
We had a great trip on the river with Mostafa. Really enjoyed Aswan, stops at Kom Ombo & Edfu, and Luxor. Our guide was knowledge and thorough, whilst also giving us plenty of time/space to explore or double back as needed, and tailoring the itinerary based on our preference.
We booked a private tour with Egypt Unlimited Tours for February 2026. Our tour guide Emad was famous among the guides and knowledgeable at all the historical sites. The staff on the Nile were all attentive and friendly. The food was tasty - especially the desserts.
Everything about our trip was perfect from start to finish. Our guide, Mohamed Salman, took care of all the details and provided a wealth of information so we could enjoy the trip. At every site we visited, Mohamed magically produced our tickets and when we were done he cslled our driver who then magically appeared. We also appreciated that Mohamed not only provided the standard details about the temples, but also answered all our questions so that it was a completely personalized experience. He also went above and beyond by getting cough syrup for us and helping us eith our shopping. We were amazed that he stayed with us during the whole trip even though he had to travel by car and train from Aswan to Luxor to meet our ship at each stop. Our ship was also top-notch in its facilities, dining, and staff. We had never taken a river cruise before and we discovered that we loved seeing the shore go by from our large window. We highly recommend this tour and our guide, Mohamed. It is the perfect way to see all the important Egyptian temples in just a few days. I normally plan my own trips, but I never could have worked out all these details on my own. Sometimes it's worth hiring a professional guide and tour company.
Enjoyable experience with our very knowledgable and helpful guide. He was professional, flexible and courteous throughout. The cruise ship schedule led to a few very early starts. Some adjustments could help make the cruise tour timings more convenient and still manage to avoid the peak.crowds.
Salama was an incredible guide. He truly made the whole experience fun and exciting. He is very knowledgeable and made it unforgettable. By the end of the trip it felt like we were close friends. If you have the chance I can’t suggest him enough. All of the sites and temples are breathtaking. Book this tour and if you can get Salama you will have an amazing trip
