Not what we was expecting, not one part of the boat and service is what anyone would call luxury. Private guide and transport was good. Overall not worth the price from a normal cruise tour.

Reviews
The places we visited are excellent but we felt let down by the guides. Our guides are fairly friendly but their knowledge of Egyptian history and storytelling ability have much room for improvement. If we do it again, we would not get a guide and would just read from guide books which provide far better information.
This experience is unbeatable. Having never visited Egypt before, and being obsessed with ancient Egypt since I was a child, this experience met every expectation. Here is my honest review about all the components: The Egyptilogist Our private guide and now friend: Mahmoud was incredible. He brought the thousand year old stories inscribed on the walls to life. There is no way to fully appreciate the Temples without a professionally and academically trained guide. Additionally, he ensured my wife (who is not a history nerd like me) remained engaged by providing cultural experiences and not just historical knowledge. He showed us parts of the cities that we would not have seen otherwise. The Nile Cruise - El Jamila I would like to start by saying how welcoming, accommodating, and attentive the crew was. They represent the best of the Egyptian people And serve as great ambassadors of their country. The cabin was a bit on the smaller side, and definitely looked to be a bit worn, but ultimately we were not spending much time in there. The food was plentiful and delicious. Be prepared, though, to only eat during the designated times, as there are no options for snacks or food outside of the set meal hours. The Lounge is a good size and air conditioned in case you get too hot. The rooftop deck is very large, with lounge chairs towards the bow and tables toward the stern. I am unsure if it was due to the time of year (low season), but the upstairs bar was not open, and there was no music throughout the day. The pool is on the smaller side, and the water is not heated. Be warned - there is a lot of down time during sailing hours. Be sure to bring books, cards, games, etc. Try to not plan your schedules too tightly, as the ships will frequently be delayed due to the number of ships on the Nile (your guide will help accommodate plans). In all - I would highly recommend, as you cannot beat the experience and the memories you will gain for such a fantastic price.
The tour guy Ashraf is very accommodating to our needs especially traveling with my mom’s bad knee. The experience with him was great. Unfortunately I chose the Blue Shadow 1 cruise from Aswan to Luxor. The cruise is very dirty and some staffs were very rude. I didn’t enjoy staying at this cruise at all besides the beautiful scenery. Do not use Blue Shadows at all.
Our guide was Mostafa and was not shared with other tour groups so it was just the two of us when we visited sites. We cruised on the Kahila by Sabena from Aswan to Luxor. The first night the ship moored in Aswan, followed by a day of cruising and visiting Kom Ombo and Edfu before arriving in Luxor where we moored for two nights. Mostafa was an excellent guide who gave us lots of context and highlighted unique or interesting frescoes or carvings in the sights we visited. He always gave us time to explore the site ourselves as well as giving advice/warning us about touts in certain locations. The boat was on the nicer end of what we saw on the Nile. Buffets for all meals, a bar and sun deck with pool. There was ‘entertainment’ some evening which we skipped so cannot comment.
The 3-nights 4-days cruise tour from Aswan to Luxor were wonderful and successful. The tour guide helped us to get to all the attractions as stated in the tour package. Besides, the tour guide also helped us to go to some optional sites such as Abu Simbel and Alexandria as the day trip. We enjoyed the tour with peace of minds and private tour guides. The tour guides are professional and experienced in the areas. They speak English well and good at communicating with us. We enjoyed all the arrangements and felt satisfactory. Will come back for another trip in the future.
The crew on the ship and Ashraf Elbadry our tour guide were the best parts of our trip. Our room number 206 was quiet and clean. I was disappointed in not sailing on the first night and then having to stay with the table we were assigned throughout the trip. The food was good and plentiful with several choices. However the last meal which was planned as special wasn't the best. The steak and the prawns were both on. I'm sure it isn't easy cooking for a lot of people at once so maybe the last meal should be just a simple variation on the other dinners where people choice what they want.
Mostafa was our guide and the entire experience was wonderful. Everything was taken care of. The only reason that i have given a little less rating is because we felt that the cruise ship could be of a better standard. Not too say that the one we were in lacked anything, in fact the crew and the good was awesome. Perhaps this was due to the fact that we booked very late in the peak season. This cruise is really good otherwise and a great experience.
The best part of the cruise was our guide Ashraf from Gate2Egypttours. As a private guide he provided us with daily pickups to all the sites we wanted to see along with excellent knowledge of Egyptian history. He also had a very workable schedule that left us with time to ourselves. Most importantly we felt very comfortable and in good hands with Ashraf as an expert Egyptologist and guide. He never overloaded the schedule or insisted on us doing something we were not interested in. He also answered questions about recent events and culture in Egypt. Highly recommend Ashraf and Gate2Egypttours.
A great experience. Our guide was very intuitive and knew the answers to all our quest. Very interactive and accommodating. Spent time to ensure we got the most out of every day. The cruise ship staff were extremely helpful and polite. Overall couldn’t be happier with our first visit to Egypt and can’t wait to use this tour company again. Thank you!
It was an amazing experience for us . We took the cruise from Aswan to luxor. We were on board for 4 days and each day was unique. Apart from amazing places we get to visit , highlight of our tour was the good service from cruise staff . We were lucky to have one of the best guide in Ashraf , who was the best versed Egyptologist with deep knowledge of every monument and fact of Egyptian history . Out of the four days the actual crushing is only for about 12 hours rest of the time cruise is parked at starting or ending point . Still those 12 hours are worth the experience . We wish if we had more time cruising . We took extra tour of Abu Simble which was not the part of the cruise . I strongly recommend that it must be part of the tour as you will miss something if you don’t do it . We spent maximum of the cruising time on the top deck enjoying great view of nile , watching sun rise , enjoying starlit night etc
The cruise and tour was arranged by Ashraf @ Gate 2 Tours. Organisation, pickup and communication were excellent, Having a private guide (Mostafa) and car enabled us to set our own agenda in Aswan and Luxor, when not actually on the cruise, and escape the crowds. We had an excellent last day in Luxor West Bank. However, there is a systemic problem with the Aswan to Luxor cruise programme which may not be avoidable. For reasons nobody could explain to me (perhaps police/security), about 20 large boats (c.100 passengers each) leave Aswan in a convoy every Wednesday "at the same time". There don't appear to be any other boats available. I think all boats are pretty similar, most are ageing, showing some signs of tiredness, and belch out rather nasty diesel fumes. Nonetheless, our cabin and food were good, and the staff well meaning if a bit obsequious. To my surprise, I even enjoyed the evening entertainment of a traditional whirling dervish and belly dancer. The convoy results in crowds/delays at each stop including Kom Umbu and Edfu. It took us 2 hours to get through the Esna lock, meaning we were late into Luxor and ended up in the Luxor Temple at a very busy time (early evening). Why they don't stagger the boats through the day/week beats me,
We really liked the service and our guide. It made everything so much easy and smooth. We had a private vehicle in every single stop.
Emad was a wonderful guide. He was very knowledgeable of the history and tour stops in each location as well as being very helpful to the culture of Egypt and any needs that came during the trip. We loved his hospitality and positively. He ensured we were safe at all times and helped us navigate through the vendors.
Our family had an amazing experience with Gate 2 Egypt Tours and our private guide Emad. His in-depth knowledge, forethought and kindness made all the difference and was key in making our adventure a memorable one. Just by witnessing the group experiences of our fellow cruise travelers, we knew we had made the right decision in booking privately. Everything from hotel pick-up, ship check-in, insightful tours, drop-off at the airport, and all the transporting in-between was seamless and stress free. Emad was very in tune with our preferences and even helped us navigate our itinerary in a way that allowed us to truly enjoy the sites at our pace and without the hinderance of the flow of crowds. He even provided much needed guidance on how to interact with local merchants and service providers, which was priceless given the cultural and language barriers. As for the cruise itself (Jaz Crown Jewel), the rooms were small and basic, but clean and well-kept. The service was friendly and professional, and the food was great. Note that all meals and entrance fees are covered in the price of the cruise, which is a rarity we found while researching our trip and was the main reason we booked this option. We highly recommend Gate 2 Egypt Tours and Emad for your trip needs. (One important travel note: Our route was Aswan to Luxor, and while the ship tries to stay on track with the timed itinerary provided by the tour company, things outside of their control, like late arrival of groups and boat traffic on the river, can delay the schedule and arrival times. We highly recommend you plan on staying the night in Luxor on your last day or book a late-night flight to allow adequate time to visit all the Luxor sites.)
Very good. The private tour was good with young children and the hospitality of the cruise staff was also excellent. And above all, our tour guide, Mustafa, was very well and arranged everything according to our requests. We requested an additional trip to Abu Simbel as an option. We enjoyed that even with long drive because of knowledgeable guide, safe driver and comfortable car. Well managed. Also the company staff respond very quickly. I recommend here.
I truly enjoyed this cruise! The ship is excellent with updated furniture and spacious rooms. The food was excellent and the private tour guide and Vehicles made a difference highly recommended it!
I had an amazing experience in this 4 day 3 night cruise from Aswan to Luxor! The ship was in excellent condition, rooms spacious, excellent quality food and service. The private guide Mo and the private vehicles were an added benefit to explore the historic sites. I would highly recommend it to others who wish to explore Egypt ancient sites and history.
This trip was wonderful from beginning to end. Boat is comfortable; food good and plentiful. Attractions, of course, are amazing and very well-run. Our guide was excellent, knowledgeable, kind, and flexible, adjusting our schedule to our preferences. Recommend this trip!
This tour lives up to its pronouncement as a "luxury tour". The boat and rooms are simple and comfortable; the food very good and abundant. The attractions are, of course, amazing. Our family of three spent the days in the very capable hands of our Egyptologist guide Ashraf Elbadry, who is knowledgeable, kind, and was solicitous of our needs and wishes at all times. We lived a wonderful dream as we floated down the Nile!
Overall very positive experience. Accommodations were nice. Meals had plenty of choices. Especially liked breakfast. When leaving for an early temple tour provided a breakfast box. Would have liked to spend more time in Luxor, but this was a nice overview of several temples/sites for a first visit.
This company is fantastic! I had all my tours scheduled before I left home & 3 days before my cruise was scheduled to start the 1st company canceled leaving for scrambling. I booked a second tour which also canceled, leaving me wounding if this was doomed. Enter Delux Tours which was a referral from an Egyptologist in their employ. They were a life saver for me & came in under budget. Ashraf, my guide on this private guided trip was wonderful, I could not ask for a more fantastic guy. Not just knowledgeable but clearly a man with resources & can solve problems. I’m great-full to them for making this happen on such short notice. I would absolutely recommend this company for anyone booking tours in Egypt. Thank you
Fantastic week thanks in part to Ahmed who is an exceptional guide, passionate, protective and incredible kindness. Egypt is full of unique sites, This agency organizes everything and they are concerned about the well-being of their holidaymakers. Thanks for everything. Go ahead with your eyes closed 👍👍
Everything was well organized. We had the chance to come across a very good guide, who really loves country and its history.
I loved this cruise, this is the best cruise of my life! I recommend this agency which is really serious with its clients, I was also very well advised by the guide and staff during the various visits. The guide was super and passionate about Egyptian history, which made it even more captivating to discover! I hope to have the chance to go back to this cruise one day!
I've wanted to cruise the Nile for a long time. I decide to leave alone for the minimum of days just to try. Above all, I was satisfied with the excellent organization and adequate costs. The landscapes, then, SPECTACULAR!!!! A little too many checks, but I'll definitely be back for a fuller tour, and with the family.
