Great experience! This small, family-run vineyard has been operating for centuries and is amazing. We enjoyed the wines and appetizers so much. Our guide, Julia, was very knowledgeable about each wine and the winemaking process. We would highly recommend this tour and tasting!
We had a wonderful time at the “Winemaker for a Day” experience. It was just the two of us, which made it feel very personal and relaxed. The lady who guided us was fantastic—she explained everything in a simple and engaging way and patiently answered all our questions. We also loved the food, especially the spreads! The wine tasting was excellent, and we ended up buying both a bottle of wine and several bottles of their delicious olive oil. A lovely experience that we would highly recommend.
This tour was even better than anticipated! So informative , great wine and appetizers. The view from the vineyard is spectacular as well.
Annalaura and Maria were amazing. We learned about the history of the winery and how each wine was hand crafted. Wine was delicious and the snacks were perfectly paired.
Beautiful winery near Assisi, they arranged for a taxi to pick us up at the hotel which was very convenient. Julia was our knowledgeable tour guide, I really enjoyed learning about the organic wine production.
Really nice, family friendly tour, including a talk about how the process worked. Great nibbles and generous selection of delicious wines to try after the tour of the cellars. Was the right balance of detail and interesting! Would recommend
Our host was amazing. Because it was the national holiday, Tili Winery had a very busy morning. We so appreciated them staying open longer just to provide us an overview of their entire winemaking process from vine to bottle, and then various tastings accompanied by great cheeses, spreads and bread.
From start to finish the tour was amazing, informative and a treat for all the senses! The tasting site is beautiful, the food and wine were delectable! My mother asked if we could go again! We all had a wonderful time and learned so much! Don’t miss out on this opportunity, all 5 of us enjoyed our tour immensely! We all have a new appreciation for organic winemaking and will do our best to support organic winemakers! Grazie!
A beautiful winery and tasting! Anna Laura and her family have great pride in their products - great tasting and delicious wine. S food pairings.
We had a lovely time at Tili Winery! The tasting area is on a beautiful hilltop overlooking the vineyards below. Everyone was so sweet and kind, and we left with plenty of wine to bring home :)
We enjoyed a visit to this family owned organic winery as part of our tour to Assisi. Great views and outstanding wine! Loved it
My friends and I had a delightful afternoon at the Tili winery! Our host was incredibly knowledgeable about the craft and was able to give our group—who had next to no background in wine tasting or curation—an in depth walk through of a few different types of wines, the way to taste them to get the best taste and smell. The food dishes brought out were delicious and paired wonderfully with each of the wines. After the tasting, we went to the winery itself and toured the facilities and gained a deeper understanding and appreciation of all the ins and outs of crafting and bottling organic wines. Overall we had a great time, and not only would we do this tasting again if we head back to Assisi, but I would highly recommend this tasting to anyone asking where to go for a local tasting. Everything was amazing!!
Beautiful little winery with a special location. Julia was warm and gracious. She made us comfortable and she is most knowledgeable about wine and olio. A beautiful fall day. Food was delicious and plentiful. Wine was terrific. Would do it again.
Beautiful views of the vineyard, delicious wine, food, olive oil & balsamic vinegar. Tour was in English, tour guide was very knowledgeable & fun!
The family host was so welcoming. The property is breathtaking. The wine was very good. Completely different than what we expected. The food pairing was delicious as well. We would recommend this experience with 5 stars :)
This is a small, family-based vineyard / winery. The 2-hour "winemaker for a day" experience was our first port of call, at the public-facing venue. This was a well-kept property with gorgeous views, and involved some interesting information about the grapes and processes involved in making the wines (five different ones I think). Some lovely antipasti were also included, and the atmosphere was generally friendly, uncomplicated, and unhurried. Exactly what was wanted on a hot summer afternoon. The second portion of the experience was an interesting tour of the production facility, about a mile down the road. Most impressed that we were given such personal attention and it is obvious that our guide was enthused by the wine and wanted to make sure we got our value for money. We bought a couple of bottles which have since survived a flight (I defy you not to take away some of the orange) and they clearly have their sales geared for international tourists as well as locals: olive oil and balsamic vinegar, which are also made on site, are available in carry-on sizes. I've been on wine-tasting tours on other continents and never been disappointed, but this one had a unique flavour of Italian hospitality. We got talking to another couple and as a result our stay was almost half an hour longer than booked - the hosts were completely chilled about this and arranged their work around us. All in all highly recommended, and like all the best wines - unpretentious.
Being winemaker for a day at Tili Vini is all about passion. Passion for the region, passion for the art of wine making, passion for regional food and passion for their guests. Arriving almost 15 minutes late because i didn't read the instructions 100%, we where welcomed at the winery with open arms. From the start of the tour their knowledge and competence shines trough. The tour of the winery followed by the tasting is worth every penny. Everyone at Tili is warm at heart and they go out of their way to make sure you have an excellent experience. At the end of our tasting i asked if we could buy some of the truffels they had "hunted" with their dog that morning. And even on that out of the blue question they acted with the most pleasant response. Yes, we will be back at Tili Vini soon.
This wine tour was wonderful!! Our guide, Annalaura, gave us a very detailed and informative tour of the winery and their process. The food and wine tasting was incredible!! They provided us with delicious bruschettas and wines! From beginning to end, this tour was amazing and we would highly recommend it!!
This tour was amazing! Annalaura gave us an incredibly detailed and educational tour of the winery and winemaking process. She answered all our questions and showed us every aspect of the process. The wine and food tasting was exceptional!! They provided us with delicious appetizers and wine pairings. My kids even got to pet and play with the family dog! It was one of the best tours we had in Italy and would highly recommend it!!
When we arrived, we were greeted by Julia who took us on a tour of the winery which is down the road about 1 km. She explained everything ti us and answered any questions that we had. We found it interesting. Then we went back for the tasting. Julia brought us snacks and wine, explaining everything about the types of grapes and what pairs best with each wine. It was so relaxing and pleasant and we had great views. Julia was friendly and knowledgeable and clearly understood the passion that the family had for winemaking.
Lovely experience with knowledgeable guide. The winery has beautiful views so perfect for a relaxing afternoon or evening.Food was excellent best brushetta we have had so far ! Wines are interesting and different we bought 3 to take home. Would definitely recommend the trip. Enjoy ! Wendy & Steve
We went to TILI winery last week with family. We enjoyed the wine so much, I ordered quite a bit to be sent home. Then a second set of family visited and so we went to TILI a second time. The wine, the snacks, the view, the experience is awesome.
Beautiful day. Wonderful view. Very pleasant and knowledgeable staff. Wine was amazing and each one with unique character (I bought way too much to send home). English was outstanding. Had to drive 3-5 minutes away for the winery tour which was also very interesting. They served heavy appetizers that were quite tasty. We also tasted their balsamic vinegar.
A last minute decision for our party of 4 and ended up being one of our favorite experiences. The tasting was informative, we loved meeting the family and learning about their reason for producing organic wine. Very welcoming and hospitable. Beautiful venue and views. Highly recommend. We got a taxi from town, and they called us a taxi upon our departure time. Easy process and great experience and great wine.
Really enjoyed the 7 different wines and balsamic!! Beautiful location and fun experience! Annalaura was a wonderful hostess. Highly recommend!!
Julia did an excellent explanation of the process. Maria made amazing bruschetta and the wine was delicious. I never tasted these wine with the orange and light rose color. If you don’t have a car, be aware that taxi will cost you about 50 euros
Annalaura provided a most exceptional tour of the organic winery her family has tended for hundreds of years. We learned a lot about the process and the benefits of the small-scale, organic vineyard thay produces high quality wine. We can attest to that having tasted about 6 different wines at the beautiful location overlooking the Umbrian landscape. Annalaura’s good humor, affability and passion for the wine added to the overall enjoyment of this tour. A must-do while visiting the Assisi area!
We absolutely loved the tour and will tell all our friends! We started on the farm and learned all about the careful, organic winemaking process. How impressive this family has been tending the land and winery for hundreds of years. Then we drove to a gorgeous setting for the wine tasting. It was educational, fun, personal, delicious! We look forward to receiving Tili organic wine in a few weeks. Thank you for a memorable afternoon!
I booked this tour & tasting for my husband and I. It may be one of the highlights of our trip so far, and arguably our favorite tasting so far of our trip! There were so many different types of wine at the tasting (and we were pleasantly surprised to have rose, white and red wine). The pairings of food were plentiful and delicious. Our guide was very personable, sweet and funny. She was engaging, as well. We also enjoyed meeting other travelers and just had a wonderful experience overall. I would highly recommend this experience if you’re in Umbria!
Really well looked after. They are clearly passionate about their wine, and take time to tell you how much trouble they go to. Very friendly and informal. After the tour we sat with them for about an hour with some lovely food (cheese, meats etc) and tasted five wines. No hard sell, but we did buy some wine while we were there.
This is the hardest review I have written. Our host was so nice and informative, but the entire tasting was very unprofessional. When we pulled in the driveway, 3 dogs started barking and coming towards the car. I do not have a dog and honestly, i am afraid of them. One of the 3 was what looked to be a German Shepard. So not knowing the dogs, we stayed in the car till a woman (the host) greeted us. The dogs were there throughout the tasting. Trying to get food off our table, one jumping on my lap, being very disruptive, i would think to ANYONE trying to enjoy a wine tasting, let alone someone like me who never had a dog and is afraid of them. The food served with the wine was good, but the entire experience was lacking unfortunately. Again - our host was knowledgeable and friendly, but a bit more professionalism in putting the dogs in the house perhaps, would have went a long way.
It was a great wine tasting. Our host was so friendly and explained how their processes used in their organic winery are so different from other commercial wineries. It’s great to support a family owned winery (since the 12th century!) The wines were wonderful, paired with foods of cheeses and meats. All with a great view of the valley below. I live in Sonoma county, next to Napa county, in the USA, and have visited dozens of wineries. This was very unique and special. Great tour!
What a wonderful experience! We stumbled upon this little vineyard as we were planning or holiday. It was perfect for us as we were based in Spello (close and they provide transport from Spello). The tour was informative. We were a little late, so only saw the vineyard from a distance, but that was fine for us. The highlight of the day was the tasting and spending time with Maria and her family (including Dodo)! There is a separate space for the tasting with a stunning view over the valley. We were able to taste 6 different wines with yummy bruschetta (olive oil, tomato, pesto, and an artichoke spread I can't remember the name of), followed by a lovely meat and cheese board. The tasting ended with a tasting of their balsamic vinegar. We received such a warm welcome from the moment we were picked up in Spello to the moment we were take back home. Maria sat with us and visited--she was familiar with where we are from, which was fun. She also has the most infectious and joyful laughter!! If we are ever able to get back to Italy, we will return to Tili Vini! Thank you for the perfect evening! We can't wait for our shipment of wine, oil, and vinegar to arrive!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Tili Vini. Unlike other wine tours we have done in Italy this place is a family run business. It was really interesting to learn about the organic side of production and Maria, our host, was warm, welcoming and had a great sense of humour! The best was definitely the wine tasting and delicious food. Beautiful bruschetta with their own olive oil and tomatoes from the garden accompanied by white, rose and the unusually ‘orange’ wine. Umbrian meats, cheeses, melon and bread with two delicious red wines and a desert wine with Maria’s home made biscotti - just perfect. A spoonful of their divine balsamic vinegar to finish (we HAD to buy some) I would thoroughly recommend this visit if you are anywhere near Assisi … no better way to spend a late morning/lunchtime. Thank you Maria for your hospitality.
Fantastic experience. Nice to see and hear the story of winemakers. After the tour we had great Wines and good food in a perfect atmosphere. Besides the fantastic guide Gaia, the dog Dodo was running the real show. ;) Definitely recommended!
Amazing to experience how the wines are made and why Tili Vini do as they do. You get the tour around the winery and experience the process. Really interesting! Great to taste the different wines afterwards and compare.
We’re a family with four teenagers and no wine experts except that we love tasting good food and wine from around the world. Here everyone really enjoyed the kindness from the TILI family. First a very good and informative tour and then lunch plates with delicious food and plenty of wine in the glasses. Not only to taste but to really be able to enjoy this fantastic family and the wines they have created. I hope you will soon ensure these wines to be available in Denmark❤️
The highlight of the tour, besides the wine, espescialy the sancreterre (magnificent), was talking to the owner. Such a pleasure. Italian all the way.
What a wonderful experience we had at Tili Vini with Gaia. I highly recommend the visit. The wine and food were excellent and we ended up shipping 2 cases home :)
Wonderful place with great wineand hospitality! Very friendly and accommodating and we appreciated our time
We had a fantastic time on the tour! Tili was an exceptional winery and the experience was truly unforgettable. To not forget we order a couple of cases of wine to be shipped back to our home in the U.S. SALUTI AND THANK YOU TILI WINERY!
This was an amazing experience at a great price! We tasted multiple different wines and we were expertly described the ingredients that go into each wine, the best pairings, and the particular tastes, as well as why they have opted for such things. We also got some lovely food to accompany, I wouldn’t worry about eating before hand as we had plenty bruschetta, cheeses and homemade desert by the owner! All of this was an amazing view overlooking the beautiful Italian countryside. It was also one of the hottest days of the year, and the staff ensured to keep our water topped up so we could stay hydrated. The staff were super nice and friendly and very welcoming. After the tasting, we got a lift to the actual winery that was just a 2 minute drive away. We got an amazing tour of the humble winery with expert insight. To top it all off, afterwards, our host offered us a lift back to the train station as they were finishing work soon and would be passing there any way! We had some great chats and really really appreciated it. Overall this was an amazing experience, and we could not believe how affordable it was! Thank you to Tili Vini for such a nice day.
Our wine tour was fantastic. My husband, brother and two adult children enjoyed learning about the process while viewing the machinery used. We learned a lot and were able to ask questions. Then we were treated to bruschetta with several different samples of wine. Each time new wine came out - one of the guides took time to explain. They even taught us how to properly check for good wine at a restaurant:) The wine was so tasty - we decided to have some shipped back home to enjoy.
Had a great time. Very interesting to learn about organic wine making- no chemicals added at any stage. The explanation was clear and the personnel were very friendly and attentive. We were treated to six varieties of lovely wines in a pleasant environment. Recommended
Excellent time with Annalaura giving us a professional tour of the vineyards (we would have like to walk them though vs just an overview) and winery and wine tasting. She did a great job explaining their processes and comparing them to a non-organic winery. Excellent wines and food pairings too! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in fine organic wines, but ask Annalaura to walk the vineyards and olive groves upfront or you will run out of time to do so.
This tour did not end up being what we expected but it was still the highlight of our tour of Umbria in 2021 (sorry it’s taken a while to write this review). When we booked this tour it was advertised as a guided tour of the vineyard, visit to the cellar, sensory analysis of wines, tasting of five selected wines and accompanying food. The problem was that our tour consisted of eight Italian speakers and two English speakers (us) so the owners split us into two parties and, while the Italian speakers got the tour noted above, the English-speakers were treated to an absolutely wonderful two hours of food and wine tasting (followed by a quick trip to the wine cellar at the end). We could not have been happier as we got to do the really fun part with the wonderful owners, the mother and daughter team of Maria Palma and Annalaura in their beautifully-located winery overlooking the valley that leads to Assisi. I’m sure we tasted more than the five wines advertised and the foods that went with them were wonderful. We were expecting crackers and maybe some bruschetta but this was so much more including antipasti meats and cheeses, olive oil and balsamic that were comparable in quality to that at the high quality restaurants we visited on our trip. And the wine flowed freely too! Maria Palma and Annalaura were perfect hosts. It was like we’d known them for years. Their knowledge of wine making and the history of the region were unsurpassed. Their friendliness and customer service skills second to none. All the wines were wonderful and we made several purchases which they arranged to be shipped to the US for us. I cannot recommend this tour highly enough - don’t rush it though. Make sure you leave enough time to truly immerse yourself in the environment and culture and put yourself in the hands of the wonderful Maria Palma and Annalaura.
We so enjoyed visiting the winery and the tastings. Family run winery that made u feel right at home and part of the family.
Lovely wines with excellent food pairing at a family run winery. Mother and daughter duo running the tastings were instrumental in making the experience perfect. In addition to great wines, excellent olive oil and balsamic vinegar available as well. A worthwhile visit to remember. Will definitely return.
The tour around the winery and the enthusiasm of the tour guides. The wines to taste were also splendid with explanations.
