The city is beautiful and clean. I could see that without the audio and written guide. After the first 2-minute description, we put our phones away and read what we saw at the places we visited. Thankful I didn't have to pay for it.

Itinerary
The Basilica of Santa Chiara was built on the opposite hill to the Basilica of San Francesco. The two basilicas, with facades inspired by the Romanesque model, seem to dialogue through their simplicity. Both have a triangular tympanum and a central rose window that symbolizes a spiritual embrace towards the pilgrims who pass through the streets of Assisi.
The Diocesan Museum and Crypt of San Rufino is located in Assisi, next to the Cathedral of San Rufino, and is a space rich in history and sacred art. The museum is housed in medieval rooms, including decorated rooms and ancient cloisters. Inside, sacred works of art from the cathedral and churches in the area are exhibited.
The Sanctuary is located in the place traditionally identified as the birthplace of Saint Francis. In 1615, the Friars Minor, thanks to the financial support of Philip III, King of Spain, transformed this space into a church, starting community life and liturgical celebrations.
The Rocca di Assisi is a fortified complex formed by two main structures: the Rocca Maggiore and the Rocca Minore, also known as Cassero di Sant’Antonio. Both are made with the typical pink stone of Assisi.
All the main roads leading from the city gates converge in this square. The square was built on an ancient Roman Forum used as a public space and center of political and social activities. In the Middle Ages, the main public buildings arose, such as the Temple of Minerva, the first seat of the Municipality of Assisi, the Palazzo del Capitano del Popolo and the Torre del Popolo.
Built at the end of the 13th century, the palace was designed as the seat of the Capitano del Popolo, a figure who represented the power of the Municipality of Assisi. The Capitano was responsible for maintaining order and administering justice, a central role in the medieval politics of the city.
The archaeological area of the Roman Forum of the ancient city of Asisium is located under the current Piazza del Comune and was discovered thanks to excavations conducted by a French architect in the first half of the 19th century. Today, it is possible to visit it by accessing the crypt of the former Church of San Niccolò, located in Via Portica.
This place was built in 1457 by order of the brotherhood of Sant’Antonio Abate and San Giacomo, it was created to allow pilgrims hosted in the nearby hospital to participate in religious functions. The interior has a square plan, with a cross vault and frescoed walls.
When Saint Francis died in 1226, it was immediately decided to build a basilica in his honor to contain his relics. Thus, on July 15, 1228, Pope Gregory IX, a friend of Saint Francis, proclaimed him a saint and, on the same day, laid the first stone of the basilica, which would be built on a hill near Assisi, towards the north. Let's discover this amazing building!

Was never able to get 2 tickets to access audio information. Was never able to scan barcode? Very much dissatisfied . Was able to read on one phone, even though 2 tickets were purchased!
The written content was ok but nothing you couldn’t have got from a guide book . There was no personal or local feel to it. The commentary was with an American accent. I was expecting something from a local Italian person
I found the tour difficult to use and limited in the information it provided. It was confusing to go between the locations and I got lostbecause it did not directly show them on a map. And when I went to my Google maps, I then often lost my place in the tour. Because attractions are far apart and frequently involve many stairs and I was walking in the hot sun, it would’ve been helpful for the Guide to explain the route before starting off to that location. Luckily, most of the cathedrals also had some signs with explanations in English but I felt I missed out on importantinformation I would’ve had with an actual live tour guide. And I almost missed seeing some of the main things because they were not mentioned. I have used audio guides for other places that were far superior. I would have liked more information about the important places and to skip the restaurant recommendations.
It was OK for the money but I expected more detail about the decoration of the different churches especially St Francesco.
The tour was easy to follow with great instructions. Tour was great.
I really liked this guide’s information and structure. The information was succinct and informational, without taking up too much time over explaining unnecessarily. The locations it took me to were ones a lot of guides didn’t mention, or I didn’t think about. Great value for the price. However, I do feel that the website and style was outdated. The google map that was used was an older version, I would have preferred it to work in the Google Maps app. I ended up transcribing all the locations into the app for a better functioning route. TLDR: liked the actual tour, the website could use some updating work.
It’s a great way to see Assisi but it requires internet. Some areas of Assisi have weak internet and you lose the connection.
Great help in appreciating the beauty and history of Assisi. Thank you - much appreciated! We could take it all in at our own pace.
Some people in our group had trouble with loading/reloading the audio. The reason I am rating as just average is because the content was more general in nature. I would've liked more specifics/details about what I was looking at for the stops on the tour. Overall it is a good value for the price and allows you to have a more relaxed experience to tour Assisi.
This is the third tour I've taken with Walking Cap. All three were very informative. It took a little time to figure out how to use the app, but once I did it was easy. Walking Cap is a very I expensive alternative to a full on tour. The nice thing is you are not on the tour guides schedule. If you want to eat you can. If something different catches your eye, you can go explore. I will definitely use it i. The future.!
After some initia confusion over how the app works and if we could use it in a poor internet/phone signal area we actually found that our fears were unfounded. The Information was complete, but concise and it was great that we could do the tour at our speed.
The audio narrative was great, also to be able to read in advance of all the places we were visiting was perfect. I love it is so organized to follow the map. For sure I will recommend to friends
very informative audio, very clear directions with maps, and the freedom to take the tour in any sequence you wish and at your own pace. very easy to skip sites or audio segments you may not be interested in or have time for.
The guide gives the most important information on the city and its main sights. The website is simple to use and very practical as all places are linked to google maps and the pictures help to recognize what is beeing talked about.
Helpful information by guide however some talks ended abruptly before finishing and others ran into each other.
This experience turned out very well. I planned a last minute and quick trip to Assisi. This easily-accessed and self-paced tour was perfect. The content was relevant and informative but not too much that you got bogged down in information. This format gives you the option to linger where you want or even skip something if you’re in a rush. I appreciate the local restaurant recommendations. I experienced zero tech issues, everything was smooth sailing.
Great value! Rich historical information that made our experience in Assisi more fun and memorable. Well worth it. The information was accurate. I would add a map and or walking directions. But we found the tourist office and got one. You can preread and review it multiple times. We would have missed some cool stops if we didn’t have it.
For those that like to take tours in their own time, and don’t want to be stipulated by time (starting or moving on), this is perfect. The audio app and instructions were so easy to use, and directions to each place easy to follow. The history and information given was the perfect amount. I will 100% be using this service again!
Great digital tour! Went solo, could start in my own time, clear google map directions for getting from site to site. Good amount of detail and history. Recommendations for restaurants and gelateria were perfect!
Informative and great directions. There is however additional fees to enter the attractions. We loved Assisi. One our favorite towns
Great tour of Assisi. Good tech which worked first time, was a mix of reading and listening. Good level of depth but not too much! All the key areas covered. Enjoyed the flexibility (and price!). Map was super helpful.
A general idea and at a good cost, of what Assisi is and all the things you can do in that beautiful city. Thanks to the guide, I was able to taste typical dishes of the region.
We liked touring the city on our own. Assisi is a real favorite. The audio guide allowed us to take a nice overall tour of the city.
Excellent short guide for a self-guided tour of Assisi. A suggestion I can give is to structure the visits to the monuments/churches in a way that optimizes travel. In general, I am satisfied.
Very little information . With AI I was able to do a much more interesting tour, with more history, I almost didn't use it
Very nice, intuitive and easy. We liked it: the guide includes the map, audio and texts. I would add a few more stops.
Never acquire it because there is no Representative to give you directions or deliver material. I couldn't make the tour.
Detailed and clear audio guide, suitable for those like me who have not had time to organize and prepare the visit of a city like Assisi, but also to give some more information and curiosity to those who have already been partly informed. Also I followed the advice on where to go to taste local dishes and I was very satisfied! Tip: if you intend to use the navigator to reach the various points of interest (which is very convenient) bring a power bank for safety because listening to audio guide for visits of 4-5 hours + navigator the battery may not last all day. I will definitely reuse these audio guides for the next trips... already tomorrow with Perugia. Audioguide straconsigliata!
I couldn't download the app. The same thing happened to me in Milan. I wish I had more options available. For example, they will send me the guide by email since I already pay for it.
I am very happy to have taken this guide: it is a great basis for setting up the visit of a city, in my case Assisi. Simple to use, it provided the necessary to know various important points of the city, with a good link to the map. My group followed their own pace, delved into and visited some of the places internally, while other places were seen faster, plus some improvisation along the way.
The audio guides themselves are fine but it is not easy to find how to start them up. The barcode on the ticket is not very helpful and I had to ask for help via whatsapp after which it took some time for the link to come
Spectacular visit but we had little time and could not see everything the guide suggested. The experience was still excellent, both for the guide but especially for Assisi. It's a little easy to win"
An experience that I can recommend, unless a check up of the itinerary I booked is made. On the most beautiful, the most anticipated moment, the Basilica of St. Francis, the recording always proposed the previous structure. This did not allow me to fully enjoy the experience that ended on the most beautiful, leaving me speechless, but not for the wonder of the work.
Very interesting and complete guide. Ideal for those who do not have time or want to have an experience with a tour. Easy access and beautiful content..
It was worth it! Very informative yet limited to the most important. It's just a pity the audio lyrics were only in English.
