Our olive oil tasting at Tili Vineyards was so much more than just sipping olive oil. The owner Maria took us out to the olive trees which were in process of being harvested and showed us how olives were picked. She then brought us inside to expertly guide us in the differences between brand new and one year old olive oil. But then the surprise while we were savoring the olive oil, out came bruschetta with yummy toppings, fruit, and other goodies to eat, along with a sampling of wine from their vineyard. A big hit with my wife was the sample of olive oil hand cream that Maria brought to the table. Wonderful couple of hours and completely worth the trip from Perugia to Assisi.
My husband and I spent 2 1/2 weeks in Italy and the olive tour was a highlight. Not only did we hear about growing and processing the olives we sipped wine and ate appetizers on the deck overlooking the beautiful valley.
This was a fantastic experience. Maria, the co-owner and Annalaura were so friendly and so knowledgeable. We thought we would just be tasting olive oil but they also brought out several delicious wines and homemade snacks. We learned so much and the farm was so pretty and everything so well organised. We enjoyed every minute and I thoroughly recommend it.
Maria was the consummate host. She educated us about quality olive oils, instructed us how to taste and provided a pairing with the region’s cheeses, prosciutto and bruschetta. Equally enjoyable were the several wine samples Maria shared. We counted ourselves fortunate that we were the only two at the table. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and Maria’s hospitality. If a small, intimate venue with a gracious, knowledgeable and passionate host is of interest, then by all means book one of Maria’s tastings.
We had a WONDERFUL time learning about the family, the olive oil business, and their winery. Maria was so nice, and passionate to insure we all had the very best experience!
beautiful setting, fun and informative tour of this well run, organic winery, great wine, food, and people. Learned a lot about producing organic wine, owner and staff made sure we had an excellent experience
Very nice experience at this family run winery. Host explained the way they produce wine followed by a wine tasting session really well.
This was a very informative and personal experience. Loved the time spent with Maria and team. Thank you!!!
Maria and her family were as knowledgeable as they were entertaining. The olive oil, wine, and balsamic tastings were very educational. Overall a very enjoyable experience that I would highly recommend.
We very much enjoyed our time at the beautiful Tili Vini Società Agricola. Maria and her daughter were fun and engaging hosts / teachers. We learned a great deal from our tastings of both delicious olive oil and wines. Special thanks to them for baking awesome, home-made, gluten-free bread and biscotti for the person in our group who had that dietary need. We very much recommended this tour to others!
We did a combination of olive oil tasting and wine tasting. We started with a tour of the olive tree grove, and then learned about how the olive oil is made. We sampled both their olive oil and four of their wines. All were amazing! It was a wonderful experience, one which we would highly recommend.
We had a lovely time with Maria and Annalaura. We toured the olive groves and learned how olive oil was made, and then tasted different oils and wines. The property is lovely, and the products are delicious — their oil and wine were the only things I shipped home out of all the tastings and tours we did.
Maria and AnnaLaurel are charming, wonderful hosts. Maria took us walking through the olive trees, telling us about her 4 generations of family history with this farm. She showed us the different types of olives and the oldest tree in the orchard. We then watched a family documentary showing us the entire process they go through to make olive oil. We then had the pleasure of eating this delicious oil with Tuscan bread, cheese and salumi. They shared several of the wines they also produce, which were all excellent. We had the privilege of spending time talking with both of them and learning more about life in Italy. We thoroughly enjoyed spending our afternoon with the Tili family and farm. I highly recommend this experience.
For the most part this is an excellent tasting and I would definitely recommend it! It was really informative, friendly, and fun! However, the 30 minute video at the beginning needs to be eliminated from the experience or cut to under 10 minutes. There is a lot of valuable information in it but it is lost by the excessive boring and empty parts that only take away from the message. That’s why I am giving only 4 stars instead of 5.
Maria was so passionate and knowledgeable and it was super interesting to learn all about their family's olive oil and the challenges that they face in producing such a high quality product. The oil was absolutely delicious, as was the food that was provided and the wines that we tasted. Of course we had to ship some oil and wine back home, so looking forward to reliving the wonderful experience in Finland! Such lovely people, who went out of their way and personally called numerous restaurants to ensure we secured a dinner reservation nearby, despite it being Monday and lots of restaurants being closed. I would highly recommend this experience and the Tili Vini products!
Tili Vinci was recommended to me by an Italian colleague and so glad we took his advice. From the moment we arrived Maria was so enthusiastic and engaging about her family’s olive/wine business and it was a joy from start to finish. Not only did we have a good lesson on olive oil, but we also got a chance to taste 5 wines with a couple of varietals new to me. A delicious lunch was provided that showcased the food of Umbria with the olive oils of Tili. Well worth the price and such a lovely way to be introduced to Umbria.
Mama and her family made us feel so welcomed and like we were part of the family! The wine, olive oil, and food was delicious, the conversation was light and easy, and the farm was peaceful. We will be sure to visit again if we're in the area!
First of all, I can not stress enough the fact that I had never taste it or seen an olive oil as the one from Tilivini, I was speechless about it, I would never buy any other olive oil 😁 Ok this place it’s amazing, all the people there are wonderful and so caring, I mean Maria and Ana Laura are so nice and funny, they also took the time to take me around and explained everything about the process of the olive oil, plus I had an option about watching a video, which I loved and was very interesting. After that the oil tasting, wow this was a first for me, no one had ever made me taste an olive oil and on top of that explained to you and teach you how to taste it and identify the best oil, that was an experience. My visit to Tilivini exceeded my expectations. I definitely bought a couple olive oils ( with out putting them in my carry on luggage 😄 ) I mean we all know about that and wouldn’t ask tilivini winery to make them smaller, the sizes they have are perfect, and of course going to order more from home, I did also bought some wine and their delicious balsamic wow this winery blew me away. I definitely recommended everyone to visit Tilivini if you’re in Italy or visit their website and buy some of their products, you won’t regret it!
Maria was wonderful. She took us on our walk through her property and fed us delicious food and olive oil explaining everything.
We arrived for the tasting, the first thing we did was watch a 40 minute video documenting how the olive oil is made. It was very interesting and informative, but the description of the event does say we would visit the olive groves, and while you could see the trees from the building where the tasting was, the whole event took place in the tasting building. We then tasted the 2018 bottling of the oil made on the farm, and compared to a mass produced super market brand. We were offered a snack including a spelt grain salad made from the spelt grown on location, all very good. We also got to taste the wines being produced. Overall we enjoyed the experience and had a kind generous host. We would've liked to see more of the facilities/groves but that wasn't included so just be aware before you go! Also, we did buy a few small tins of oil but sadly they were confiscated at the airport for being too large for our carry-on luggage. Would've loved some 100mL tins because we could've taken those through! Oh well, we will miss the flavor until we return.
The oil tasting introduction was was super fun and indeed, following the tasting directions reveals completely new depths as to what olive oil can actually taste like! The food (local and home made) was also delicious, and, unlike with some other tasting places, you actually get a generous glass of wine to enjoy with your various foods. Well actually glass with each food so after all the tastings we left in really high spirits :) ! Throughout, the host was very friendly and personable sharing stories of life on the farm. But the biggest surprise to me was the balsamic vinegar tasting towards the end - I had absolutely no idea that vinegar can taste like this! The variety of different aromas, complexity and intensity of flavors - WOW! Why didn't anybody tell me before?? I can understand why it is packaged as a high-end perfume. Thank you so much Maria for an unforgettable experience!
I have been coming to the Tili Vini for three years now and it is always an amazing experience. This last time I did a tasting of the organic extra virgin olive oil and I highly recommend it! All products sold by the Tili family are organic and from their farm. The wine, of which I am a regular, is truly great. The olive oil is the an experience on itself, green emerald color and a taste that I have never tried before. Maria and Annalaura Tili are wonderful hosts that provide explanations and stories for every piece, and if you happen to find Marcos Tili, he is the master of the olive oil, so make sure you ask him for details! Overall, a must do in the area to get an idea of the products and traditions of Umbria with the advantage of knowing that everything that you will taste is organic and natural.
I spent one incredibile day in Tili farm, relaxing my self and tasting fantastic Umbria olive oil. I fell in love with Carducci Bio Olive oil. A delicate and a rich taste! Amazing
The experience was excellent, Mrs. Maria conveyed her passion for their business to us, even dedicating more time to us than what was scheduled.
Beautiful experience, very welcoming and very knowledgeable staff. We carried out oil and wine tasting.
As a birthday present for my partner, I had decided to give him a tasting of organic oil and wine with local products... and what can I say, it was like being in paradise, a 100% successful surprise!!! The location seems like an oasis of peace! We were welcomed by the owner of the house, with a big smile, a lot of kindness and a hug... who accompanied us on a tour among the olive trees and passed on all her love and knowledge, for what the whole family does every day, to create quality and organic products!! Fundamental for our health and everything around us! We were also welcomed by some wonderful little dogs...also super hospitable and full of love, who won us over with our eyes closed! The experience of tasting the oil was truly pleasant, we learned to recognize Quality!! Which is fundamental for an irreplaceable product like oil... I recommend it must be a Mr. Oil! Never take it for granted, especially for all the properties it gives us! Then we moved on to the wine....and I have to say Wow what a wine!!!!!! 5 glasses 5 emotions! Accompanied by local products that will leave you speechless! Lastly... given the occasion, we were also captivated by a fig tart, kindly offered... as the icing on the cake! Wow thank you so much, I highly recommend "L'Esperienza" and this 5 star family business! See you soon... very soon 😉
We chose oil and wine tasting as the first activity of a long weekend of bachelorette parties, and we could not have chosen better! Starting from the kindness of everyone already at the time of our arrival (late!), explanations on the olive trees and the method of oil production, in the middle of the beautiful olive grove. The view, by the way, is breathtaking! Then we tasted the oil, ate some delicious bruschetta (the lady also explained the recipes of the sauces, all genuine and simple but delicious!) and we started the wine tasting. What can I say! The wines are really good and the company of Maria Palma and Annalaura made everything fun and nice. In the end they made us stay out in front of the beautiful view until the closing, giving us a certificate of tasters and chocolate cantucci really good and welcome. In conclusion: if you want a tasting in which you eat and drink well and laugh in the beautiful Umbrian countryside, go and find Tili Vini!
Good products, beautiful location but above all fantastic family management. Recommended!
Lovely place with affable and very kind people. They made me understand the difference between a high quality oil and one of lower category. Absolutely to go there. You will discover many secrets about the world of oil and wine.
While visiting Assisi, a beautiful city in the region of Umbria, I had the opportunity to know this incredible place. We were super well received by the family. Maria and Annalaura were very attentive and friendly! Learn more about this link and about the production of organic olive oil was very interesting. They explained how to identify a quality olive oil as well as prove it. We also made a comparison with the commercial olive oil, and what a difference! Their olive oil is much lighter, much more tasty! I think it's the best olive oil I've ever tasted, I really got no words. The wine tasting was also a wonderful and enriching experience. The taste, as well as the color, of the wines is something unique. I recommend everyone to visit Tilivini!
The right experience to understand how to recognize a quality oil from a commercial oil. During the tour we visit the olive grove where all the work in the field and the differences between the various olive trees are explained, then we move on to tasting the oils: first we taste a low quality oil to understand what are the defects then we taste their oil which is a different story! Without this comparison I would never have understood the merits to look for in a high quality oil and they explain how to taste oils in a professional way. Really interesting especially for us who are newbies. It's not over, then we tasted 5 wines paired with bruschetta, salami, typical cheeses and mom's tozzetti. Go there, you won't regret it!
Very positive experience. Very welcoming and knowledgeable staff. Only flaw we expected to taste more than one oil. However, the products we tasted deserve and are quality in fact we bought bottles of oil and wine to take home. I recommend it to have a different experience 😊😊
We stopped at this company, we tasted. advised on how to make by the hostess Maria Palma, their excellent oil and then tasted 5 of their wines accompanied by various appetizers. All very pleasant, from the company to the quality of food and drink. I recommend a visit!
It was a sensational experience: they showed us the olive groves and explained the whole production process thanks to the vision of a documentary made by them. Then we tasted the oil in a professional way comparing it with a commercial oil and tasted in combination with typical local products and their organic wines. Now I finally understood how to recognize above all a high quality EVO oil from a low quality one. I will never forget it! indeed I really enjoyed myself thanks to the sympathy of Maria and Annalaura! Thanks for ❤, go there that you will not regret it!
