We had the most incredible 6-day safari experience with Meru Slopes Tours & Safaris, and I honestly don’t even know where to begin! My mom, my sister and I traveled to Tanzania for my mom’s 50th birthday, and this safari was truly a dream come true. We visited three absolutely breathtaking national parks: Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, and every single day was filled with unforgettable moments. We were lucky enough to see an incredible variety of wildlife, including so many animals we had only dreamed of seeing in their natural habitat. From elephants and giraffes to lions, zebras and so many more, it was simply magical! 🐘🦒🦁 But what truly made this experience exceptional was OUR GUIDE, GODFREY! ❤️ I genuinely believe that the guide makes ALL the difference on a safari. Many companies visit the same national parks, but having someone as passionate, experienced and dedicated as Godfrey completely transforms the experience. First of all, his eyesight is absolutely UNBELIEVABLE! 😂 We kept joking that he had eagle eyes because he could spot animals hundreds of meters away, when we couldn’t even see anything! He would tell us exactly what animal it was, and only as we got closer would we finally realize he was right. It was honestly impressive! But beyond his incredible ability to spot wildlife, Godfrey is simply an amazing person. He is incredibly kind, patient, funny, always smiling and genuinely passionate about his job. He taught us SO much about the animals, their behavior, the national parks and Tanzania in general. We are French, and his French is absolutely excellent, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We had so many wonderful conversations, shared lots of laughs and never had a dull moment with him. He always made sure we were comfortable, happy and enjoying every moment. You could really feel how much he cared about giving us the best possible experience. A special thank you also to Almachius, who helped organize our safari and was always so kind, helpful and responsive throughout the booking process. Everything was very well organized, and we felt taken care of from beginning to end. This trip exceeded all our expectations and gave us memories that we will cherish forever. ❤️

We did the 6-Day Big 5 Safari to Tarangire Serengeti and Ngorongoro. I really cannot describe how wonderful this safari was. Everything was perfect from the pickup at the airport to the accommodations and best of all was our guide/driver Andrew whose knowledge of the Serengeti was only surpassed by his dynamic personality. This really was the trip of a lifetime and I thank everyone at Meru Slopes for making it so unforgettable. Looking forward to another safari in the future and it will definitely be with Meru Slopes.
We did a 6 day private safari with Meru Slopes. Gift Tembo helped us put together the perfect agenda and checked in with us multiple times throughout the trip to ask for feedback and ensure we were having a great time. Our guide, Samweli Bahane, helped us find all of the big 5 and many more lions than we thought we would see in the rainy season. Would absolutely recommend Meru Slopes to anyone traveling through Tanzania for safari.
We did the “6-Day Private Big 5 Mid Range Tour Safari” with Douglas As Guide. What an incredible safari — such emotions and breathtaking places. Everything was super well-organized, and Douglas is an amazing person, with outstanding experience and deep knowledge of the area and wildlife. The accommodations they arranged for us were exceptional, making the whole experience even more special. Honestly, I can’t think of a single negative point. Highly recommended!
We booked the 6-day private Big 5 Mid Range Tour Safari with Meru Slopes and it exceeded every expectation. From the start the communication with Kelvin, who handled our booking, was excellent. All our questions were answered quickly and also the payment process was easy and seemed safe. Our guide Max picked us up on the first morning and made us feel very comfortable. With 13 years of experience he knew the Tarangire National Park, the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater inside out. He shared his deep knowledge of wildlife and ecosystems and always managed to place us in the absolute best viewing spots. Even when many cars gathered around an animal, Max managed to position us in pole position so that we had clear and close views while others were stuck behind. Thanks to him we saw all (!!) of the Big Five and much more, including a cheetah with four cubs, a leopard eating in a tree and large lion families chilling under the cars. And of course, many many more of all the animals that are living here. The safari jeep was well equipped with plenty of water, soft drinks, wine and beer. The lunch boxes were always very generous and delicious with local food. The accommodations were much better than we had expected. Every lodge and even the tented camp in the Serengeti offered modern, clean and comfortable rooms with excellent dinner and breakfast! The whole experience was worth every cent. The price was lower than other offers we found online and we cannot imagine that anyone else could have provided a better safari. We highly recommend Meru Slopes Tours and especially our guide Max who made this trip truly unforgettable.
We went on a 6-day Private Big 5 tour and cannot say enough how great of a trip it was. From start to finish we were 100% satisfied. It was a real pleasure to communicate with Kelvin who had seamlessly coordinated the trip and airport transport. We had a few changes to our flight itinerary to which Kelvin was very responsive. The driver was punctual and drove safely even in dark conditions. The safari itself was guided by Florian who I must say was excellent. He was a seasoned and patient driver who knew the parks inside out. He was often the first one to spot “key” animals such as lions and rhinos. Moreover, he knew the best viewpoint where we could clearly see and take nice photos of them. He gave us sufficient time to observe and was never rushed, yet completed the program easily. Thanks to his keen sight, we managed to see all the animals including the Big 5. He responded well to our questions and provided thorough explanation of not only the fauna, but also the Masai and Tanzanian culture. In a nutshell, he met all of our needs and demands. Highly recommend booking with Meru Slopes for those seeking the best safari tour.
Private tour, and tailor-made, besides Serengeti, Tarangire and Ogrongro, we went to lake Natron (great landscape), and one day trek in Kilimanjaro (nice but kind of tired), good driver and vehicle as well as helpful support from travel agency. Unforgetful memroy!
It is difficult to express with words how wonderful and life changing this Safari was. It started with a recommendation from a friend who had been done the same safari a year before with the Meru Slopes team. So, in a way, this is a second recommendation for Meru Slopes. My first contact was with Kelvin over WhatsApp. He was responsive and took the time to answer all my questions in good detail. On arrival in Tanzania, we were met by our driver Nixon who was eager to greet us with a smile and explain a lot of the local culture while taking us to our hotel. He even volunteered to show us around Arusha, take us to a local outdoor market and to other places of interest. We had 3 full days of safari with our guide Florian. Florian was knowledgeable about all the areas we visited, all the different animals and plants we saw and took a lot of pride in his ability to find us the things we most wanted to see. All the lodgings were good and the food in Tanzania is outstanding. I have to say that this tour was a trip of a lifetime that I will never forget. A large part of this was due to the care and handling of the Meru Slopes team. I take my hat off to them in gratitude and I strongly recommend this operator and trip to those of you read this review.
Meru Slopes was great! Total of 11 days in Tanzania, and Zanzibar. North and south in the Serengetti, the crater, Masai village, Our guide Moody was very experienced, showed us some incrediable things! We saw at least 35 different animals an birds, from a family of lions devouring a freshly killed bullfalo, a new born giraffe calf trying to take its first steps, and the wilderbeest migration, an more! Sleeping out in the tented lodge where the animals roamed hearing their sounds at night, sitting out on the hotel deck seeing the animals stroll by, to the rock mountain beautiful Lobo lodge nestled in the rocks, with a fantastic view of the serengetti. The wilderbeest migration was one of the highlights, Our guide Moody was able to put us right in perfect position to experience this incrediable event. He was very friendly, very knowledgeable, an always saw to our needs and comfort. From the plains of the serengetti to Zanzibar, beautiful tropical island, crystal clear waters. From swimming with dolphins, snorkeling the reefs, massive tortoises, spice tour, local culture and food, Meru Slopes was able to deliver. Everything went smooth, no glitches. Would definitely recommend then for your own personal tour!
We have just completed a 6 day private lodge safari tour with Meru Slopes. What a fantastic experience! After a long search through tripadvisor, we made the only right choice! Meru Slopes distinguishes itself by, among other things, offering a free overnight stay in a hotel before and after the safari. Our accommodations were top notch, with the luxurious Kubu Kubu Lodge as the highlight. Moreover, this company offers free wifi in the jeep during the entire safari, which meant extra luxury. Communication with Geoffrey, the boss, was very smooth. We stayed in the lodges we preferred. Everything was possible and personalized. Secondly, we had a very good guide that you should ask for if you want to go on safari with Meru Slopes. Muddy, was great for several reasons. * He was very friendly and did just about anything asked. * Muddy knows a lot and is also concerned about nature. As he himself says: "All the animals are my favourites". * He really knows all the other guides so he had the right contact at the right time to find the right animal. We saw it all and more... * We were able to follow the great wildebeest migration closely through the expertise of our guide. * Muddy also had the nice quality of not saying what we were going to see, which made it always exciting until the last minute. We can therefore only recommend choosing Meru Slopes and if possible, with Muddy as a guide. Thanks to him we made an unforgettable journey. He told us all about Tanzania, the wild animals, birds and nature. Really a top guide! We so enjoyed our safari with a lovely and knowledgeable guide. Ilse en Pascal
My girlfriend and I chose Meru Slopes for our first Safari in Tanzania (and first Safari in general). The communication with Geofrey, the manager, was great from the beginning. The plan, the trip, the car, and specially Innocent - the driver, and Eric - the chef, were awesome. People make the difference when it comes to experiences like this, and they both were amazing. We are so glad we chose Meru Slopes after checking hundreds of different tour options. We'd definitely repeat and recommend them for anyone looking for a Safari in Tanzania. Thank you :)
What a memories we made! Loved it! We did the private 6 day safari with ranger Benson and chef Chadi, with an extra hike-day on the Kilimanjaro. In advance we had contact with Geofrey in the office about the program. He had allways a friendly and quick respond. Arriving in Arusha everything was well arranged. We started in the Green Mountain hotel. That's a nice place to start the journey. Benson and Chadi picked us up in the jeep with open rooftop. They drove us to the awesome National parks (Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara) and showed us all the things you hope for. We were very lucky to see so many animals and even the migration. Camping in the parcs was an wonderfull adventure. In the morning, afternoon and evening chef Chadi suprised us with fresh and nice meals. The one day trip to the Kilimanjaro was too much. From Arusha it's a long drive so we advise to do it from Moshi. We informed Meruslopes about our exeperience and they came to the hotel to discuss it with us. That was a good thing. We really recommend Meru Slopes for a wonderfull safari in Tanzania
We had an incredibly great safari with meru slopes. Jacobo is the best safari guide you could ever wish for: Knowledgeable, funny, friendly, service-oriented and has a very good eye for spotting the animals even from a distance. From the pick-up at the airport to the farewell in Arusha, everything went very well: the car was in good condition, the selected hotels were great and the food during the safari was really delicious. The handling in advance with Geoffrey was also superb. Planning and payment went smoothly and we felt comfortable at all times. I can recommend Meru Slopes to anyone looking for a perfect partner for a Serengeti safari, and not just because of the value for money.
My wife and I did a private safari for 6 days (Serengeti, Ngorongoro crater and Lake Manyara) and it was just an outstanding experience every step of the way!! It was the first time in Tanzania and our first safari ever, so we were very picky and read a huge number of reviews, researched and reached out to more than 5 different companies, when choosing a tour. We decided to go with Meru Slopes and couldn’t have been happier with this decision! Already, before we booked, Geofrey, the owner of the company, was extremely helpful, he was very quick to reply to all our queries, adjusted the length of the tour and the itinerary. What was great as well - we could follow migration for one of our days in Serengeti without any impact on the price (this often comes at extra cost with other companies). We were very happy to find someone who could allocate for our needs and the price was very fair! Once we arrived in Tanzania everything went so smoothly! We met Geofrey on our first day and he explained to us all the details of the tour and also let us know that he upgraded our accommodation to even a better one. During the safari we had the most amazing time with our guide, Iddy, who explained us so much with us about the animals and all about local specifics. Iddy really knew his stuff and, as we learned studies several years to be a guide. He was just brilliant in navigating the parks and guided us to spot the Big 5 and much much more. We had 3 full days in Serengeti and thanks to Iddy each day we discovered something new that blew our mind all over again! He even drove us to see alligators! On top, Iddy is an amazing driver and we always felt very safe in the car. But most importantly- he is just very kind, welcoming and fun to chat and we were so happy to have met him! Our accommodation was just stunning. initially we booked the tour with accommodation in mid-range tents/lodges, but thanks to the upgrade that Geoffrey did for us, we experienced really luxury lodges with breathtaking views in every park that we stayed in. Additionally, we felt very comfortable during all the 6 days. During our tour every day we had a proper hot lunch with so much food that we even had leftovers. This is also something that really stood out for us, as we saw many companies just offered sandwiches for lunch, which is not good if you’re doing safari for several days. The car had wifi, which came in handy when we wanted to check our flight status or drop a message to the family. The nights before and after the safari and pick up/drop off at the airport were also included in the price - that was another great point. During the full trip we really felt that Iddy and Geofrey took care of every detail, we literally had nothing to worry about, all was taken care off and we could just relax and enjoy our holiday. We absolutely loved the full experience! Geofrey, Iddy and the full Meru Slopes team, thank you so much for making this one of the best trips in our lives! We truly fell in love with Tanzania and are already thinking of coming back and, when we do, we will for sure choose Meru Slopes again!
It may sound like a cliche but for me this trip was the best time of my life so far. Everything was so well done and organized, I just didn't think of anything, only enjoyed the wildness and the animals. The Meru Slopes team just took care of the rest. I had a private 7-day safari and visited Tarangire NP, Ndutu, Central Serengeti, Ngorongoro crater and Lake Manyara NP. We saw thousands of wildebeest, zebras, antilopes, gazelles, many elephants and giraffes, lots of lions, we spotted leopards and cheetahs too. Many other animals like hippos, hienas, warthogs, buffaloes, baboons, etc. We saw 3 rhinos in Ngorongoro crater too. I couldn't be happier - Big 5 was completed. It was the calving season and spotted baby elephants, wildebeest, zebra, giraffe calves and lion cubs too. Accommodations - I tried all of them from a public campsite through a tented lodge to a luxury lodge. Honestly, most of it I enjoyed sleeping in the tent in the middle of Serengeti, seeing all the stars in the sky, and listening to hyenas' sounds in the night. I enjoyed every moment spent with these guys. Everything was fantastic, we had so much fun together. A few words for the DREAM team - Geogrey, Jacob and Mushi: Geofrey - company manager - super cool and easy going. Very responsive with email communication. He will make sure you will go back home with a big smile on your face. Jacob - the guide - great friend, you just need to trust him. He has amazing skills to find every wild animal. Super nice and friendly guy with eagle eyes and good heart. Mushi - the Chef - another great friend. He is cooking amazing dishes, I can't believe someone can cook like that in the middle of the wild. Everything you can imagine - just fantastic food, you won't be disappointed. Also Mushi is a very positive person. We got everything in our car - tents, food, cold drinks. I had fresh hot food every day, cold drinks and a lot of fun. I am pretty sure you will enjoy every moment with these guys. Just don't forget to show your gratitude, they deserve it! For me - I can't wait to go back. I left my heart in Serengeti and I promised to take it back one day. So see you soon. Asante Sana - Geofrey, Jacob, Mushi!
My partner and I have made the honeymoon and the whole experience has been 10 from the commercial, the car, the hotels and of course our guide Mohamed, a real crack that gives everything for you to enjoy and see all the animals. We were very lucky, we saw the Big 5 and experiences as a pack of Elephants next to us or 2 Zebra deliveries, one pass!!!!! 100% recondensed.
We have just spent 6 days with meru slopes going through Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro and we are delighted with the experience. From the first contact with Almachius explaining the detail of what we were going to do and answering all our doubts before coming has been all magnificent. The tour has included transfers to and from the airport and hotel the day before and after the safari so you don’t have to worry about anything else to enjoy. Swalehe, our driver, has a lot of experience something to keep in mind due to the condition of the terrain in rainy season. Identify the animals very quickly and try to get as close as possible so you can see them perfectly. Gidion, our chef has cooked us every day breakfast lunch and dinner and transmits joy and good vibes at all times. We have seen the big 5 and a lot more animals, we are still impressed. The campsites of Serengeti and Ngorongoro are very basic, clean showers and bathrooms, dining room and tent, but you don't need anything else to enjoy the experience 100%. We recommend carrying soap and toilet paper. Ultimately, if you’re thinking of going on a safari in Tanzania, Meru Slopes is definitely a guaranteed hit.
All magnificent. Our guide, Gasper, led us to the best observation sites, always safe. The landscapes and animals exceeded expectations. The logistics, campgrounds and food were fastastic. We recommend mero slopes and Tanzania in general.
