Private 4 Days Safari In Tarangire, Serengeti And Ngorongoro

This is our first time in Tanzania, so we wanted to experience everything. Our trip started in Moshi, and ended in Zanzibar, with roughly 6 days saved for safari. We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Meru Slopes Tours & Safaris. From the booking process to the end of our trip, everything was very well organized. Gift Tembo, who assisted us with our booking was responsible, responsive, and he took care of all our needs. All the logistics went smoothly, and several of our lodges had prepared special decorations for our honeymoon. These thoughtful touches made our trip even more memorable and personal. A special thank-you to our driver-guide Rashid, who was excellent throughout the safari. He was highly experienced, knowledgeable, and professional. We worked really well together as a team, so that we were able to make the most of every day. Besides his expertise and understanding of the wildlife, he is also a very kind-hearted person, who's always ready to help anyone in need. Thanks to the wonderful teamwork, we were fortunate enough to witness a wildebeest river crossing, see all of the Big Five, and enjoy so many other incredible wildlife encounters. Also a thank-you to Edson, who showed us great hospitality when we first arrived in Arusha, and showed us around Chemka and Matertuni Waterfalls. I was a bit worried before leaving for the trip, cuz all the contact I had was with Gift. It was a relief to see Edson waiting for us at the aiport when we arrive, but it could be better if this information is provided beforehand. Luckily, everything turned out better than our expectations. This was truly a trip of a lifetime, and Meru Slopes played a big part in making it so special. We would happily recommend them to anyone planning a safari in Tanzania.

We had dreamed of going on a safari in Tanzania for a long time, and we finally made that dream come true with Meru Slopes. And we couldn’t have made a better choice — everything about our trip was absolutely perfect! We had a great experience with Meru Slopes! Our coordinator, Gift, did an excellent job making sure we were prepared for the experience and arranging accommodations. Our experience started with a day tour around Arusha with Victor. He picked us up at our hotel and drove us to an art gallery, a glass recycling center that made beautiful crafts from recycled beads, and then arranged a tour of the central market where we were able to purchase spices. He brought us to a restaurant for lunch and then dropped us off at the first hotel Meru arranged. The next day, Bryson, our safari guide picked us up to begin our safari. Bryson was truly the best. He was friendly, very knowledgeable about the park, and worked hard to make sure we saw the Big 5 and had a great experience all around. I give him the highest possible recommendation and could not imagine a better guide. Meru provided tasty lunches every day and made sure we had plenty of water (and beer) during our trip. The lodges we stayed at were excellent, and Meru even upgraded our stay in the Serengeti to one of their luxury tented lodges. Everything was incredible and I would definitely recommend anyone visiting the Serengeti book their tour with Meru Slopes.

We had an incredible 6-day private safari in Tanzania, and it exceeded all of our expectations! We’ve just returned from an 8-day safari with Meru Slopes, and it was everything we’d hoped for. Almachius made booking easy and was happy to build a custom trip around us, taking in Tarangire, Lake Manyara, the Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti. From pickup everything ran smoothly. Our guide and driver, Nuru, made the week — the kind of person you’re genuinely glad to share a car with for seven days. He knows the region inside out, from trees and birds to wildlife, and went above and beyond at every turn: a superb driver with a sharp eye for spotting, who kept the car spotless and tidy each day. He clearly works with photographers a lot too, and we hugely appreciated how he’d find us the best position, light and background for the animals — and being so well connected with the other guides, he always knew exactly where they’d be. The lodges were all excellent, but the Signature Luxury Tents in the Serengeti were our favourite — waking up to lions and zebra calling nearby was unforgettable. Thank you to Meru Slopes, Almachius and the team, and a massive special thanks to Nuru, who we feel very lucky to have had as our guide.

We had a great time with Meru Slopes in Tanzania, Gift Tembo as a contact person was very patient and flexible with our needs and agenda. We took a 4 night long safari visiting Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngoro hoping to see the big 5! Our guide Jacob did everything to fulfill our dream and we have managed to see many elephants, countless lions, 3 leopards, 2 cheetas and even 2 Rhinos. He was telling us all the information we needed with a touch of good humor. The hotels we stayed at were also nice and their staff was welcoming. If I have to say some negative maybe skip the beer and wine package if you dont want to drink it during the safari as it is rare to have a bathroom of course. Materuni waterfall is also a must have after you finished with the safari. Anyway, to sum up: it was a lifelong experience with a statisfaction with Meru Slopes much better than expected, and would recommend Jacob to be your guide, just ask for him if you book.

Everything was provided exactly as promised, and our trip was even better than we had hoped. Our trip coordinator Kelvin was always available from pre-booking to the end of our trip. He answered all of our questions and made sure everything went according to plan. Our Safari guide Douglas was also exceptional! He provided us with an outstanding Safari, as well as immense knowledge about the wildlife, Messiah culture and the country. Just got back from my safari with Meru Slopes and had such an amazing time! We went with a group of 5 people and all had literal last minute changes to all our flight itineraries, but thankfully Jerome, our point of contact, was super accommodating and made it all work. I also really liked that we could customize our safari to get the level of accommodation that we desired. As for the actual safari, our guide Luther was awesome! Super knowledgeable, friendly and put in so much effort to make sure we could see as much as possible. All the hotels/lodged we stayed at were also excellent and the service was on another level. After flying back to Arusha from Serengeti, we were picked up by another guide named Nickson, and just in our short 1 hr drive from Arusha to the Kilimanjaro airport, he left such a positive impression on me and my partner. Aside from being super friendly and easy to talk to, he taught us so much. So I’m sure anyone who gets him as a guide is sure to have an amazing safari. All in all, huge thanks to Jerome, Luther & Nickson for making this trip to Tanzania so unforgettable.

Feb 04-08/2025 (rating 5 stars) We did the 5-day Private Comfort Safari to Tarangire, Serengeti & Ngorongoro with Meru Slopes Tours & Safaris. Prior to booking the trip with Meru, I compared the package they offered with 3 other companies and found this to be as good, and some cases better for what we were looking for in a safari. There were less expensive packages with other companies, but I liked Meru's presentation that they sent us with their quote. It seemed professional and covered a lot of the questions that I would have otherwise had to ask with other companies. The other thing that I felt was very important (before and after making the booking) was that Kelvin, their manager, was available via WhatsApp and was able to respond to my questions quickly and accurately. It gave me the feeling of knowing that he cared that I was going to be happy with our decisions. He was at the airport in Arusha to personally greet us and introduce us to our driver for the tour. That was a nice touch. He also offered to meet again to say goodbye at the conclusion of our safari. From start to finish we felt well taken care by our fantastic driver/guide (Julius) and he did his very best to make sure we saw everything there was to see each day. Of course the accommodations were great. We stayed at Acacia Farms, Kubu Kubu for 2 nights, and Melia Ngorongoro. The breakfast and dinner meals were top notch at every location and the daily boxed lunches were decent as well. I have to say, the Melia Ngorongoro was outstanding (wow). A fun extra for me was re-learning Swahili with Julius, our driver. I had worked in Mtwara, Tanzania for about 1 year back in 2008 and did a shorter version of this same safari back then. I think he enjoyed me trying and failing and correcting and trying again, as much as I did. We even had my girlfriend Angie speaking a little by the end of the safari. Julius is a great guy - ask for him. In conclusion, other than not seeing the leopard this trip, I can't think of how anything could have been better. Angie felt the same way. Ok, maybe one thing - fix that road from Ngorongoro to the Serengeti. It's a rough ride! I highly recommend Meru Slopes Tours & Safaris for this trip. It all goes by too quickly, but you'll be leaving Arusha with a big smile and some great memories!

We had an excellent trip with Meru. Everything was organised for us, from accommodation to food. Our safari guide, Douglas, was excellent. We managed to see a number of lions, wilderbeasts, elephants, giraffes, zebras, rhinos and even a cheeta! Douglas did an excellent job at finding these animals and knowing the best routes to take and the times different animals are likely to be sighted.

We did a 4 day customized safari with mid price accommodations. The whole communication with Jerome from the Meru slopes office was all the way professional and reliable. He offered us a truly all inclusive package, with airport transfers, accommodations, meals (every day cooked lunch for picknick), drinks and most importantly he provided a very smart itinerary! (Sunset and sunrise in the Serengeti) Nuru our driver and guide is a very kind person and excellent spotter (found all big five except Leopards and ugly five and spots of the great emigration) who shares his deep knowledge about the animals, nature and culture. We enjoyed every minute!

Jacob is a truly exceptional guide. It felt more like we had a travel companion than just a guide, given his friendliness, humor, responsibility, and expertise. Throughout our journey, he patiently educated us on everything from roadside plants to the names of parks and the various animals we encountered. This made our trip immensely rich and enjoyable! We visited during the rainy season when the tall grass made spotting animals quite challenging. However, Jacob skillfully guided us to see the 'Big Five', the 'Ugly Five', and many other rare animals within just a few days. We also witnessed the migration of zebras, giraffes, and antelopes, as well as numerous herds of elephants. Jacob is also an excellent photographer. He captured beautiful photos of us and our friends that truly touched our hearts! Besides our guide, I am immensely grateful for another key person on our trip: our chef, Yohana. He is very humorous, and his cooking is incredibly delicious and plentiful. The meals he prepared during our days in Tanzania were so good that we never got tired of them; we just kept craving more! Both of them are superb as a guide and a chef. My friends and I highly recommend their services if you are planning a trip to Tanzania. They will not disappoint you!

We had an amazing experience with Meru Slopes! From the day that we enquiry about the coming trip to the last day, Kelvin answered all our questions and arranged all the details patiently. When we arrived at Kilimanjaro Airport, Nickson gave us a big welcome and treated us like home! Our safari tour guide, Jacob was professional with extensive knowledge about animals habits and the nature. He tried best to get us the big 5, ugly 5 and some other animals. We even saw action time of lion, which was awesome. We also want to give credits to Sway, who guided us to have hiking experience to waterfall and coffee tour in Moshi, which was special and exciting! Ask for Kenedy as a Guide and Moshi as cook. They know their stuff and are great human beeings. The tour was amazon. Kenedy is the perfect guide, he unsterstood very quickly, what I am interrested in seeing and took me to the best spots. He was also a very open and fun person. We laughed, learned from each other and saw many animals. Moshi as a cook was very forthcoming and tried a accomodate all of the tour gruop's wishes plus his food always tasted good.

Our 4-day Lodge safari with Meru Slopes was a wonderful experience. It was planned very well with everything from the order of the parks we visited (Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro) to the times we arrived at lunch spots and lodges. The lodges themselves (Farm of Dreams, Serengeti Heritage Tented Camp, and Rhino Lodge) were high-quality with good food and friendly staff. We got cooked meals that tasted great for all lunches. Compared to others that had lunchboxes this was a big and unexpected plus. Our guide Jacob was also top-class. He is super friendly and all the other guides seemed to both know him and go to him for tips on where to see animals. He managed to find all big 5 for us during the 4 days we were out and is also a very good driver! He is very knowledgeable about everything from animals, to culture and nature and is happy to answer any questions. We highly recommend both him and Meru Slopes!

Massive thanks to our guide Mussa for being the best guide ever. My girlfriend and I did a 3.5 day private safari to Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro - staying in lodges/tented lodges. Everything was great and we were lucky enough to see hundreds of elephants, thousands of zebra/gazelle/wildebeest, lions, giraffes, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, hippos, and many more. Mussa was extremely knowledgeable about the animals and introduced us to many that we had never heard of. He was also a great driver and taught us some words in Swahili too! Be sure to book with Meru Slopes and ask for Mussa!

Safaris in different and magnificent landscapes. Each zone has different fauna and vegetation. Thanks to Samuel for helping us discover and share his knowledge about Tanzania. We were able to get very close to all the animals. There were a huge number of babies.

We had a very nice holiday experience. Booking, communication and payment processing in advance with Leonard was straightforward. Meru Slopes has provided us with a carefree package. We were accompanied from the pick-up at the airport, through the days of the safari to the onward journey after the safari. The safari with the guide Jackson was very eventful. We learned a lot about the animals and nature in the national parks as well as the culture of the country. The chosen accommodations (lodges and tented camp) were beautiful and authentic. Food on the go (hot lunch, water, wine, beer and cola) as well as breakfast and dinner at the lodges was always good. We had a lovely time and can highly recommend Jackson as a guide with a lot of experience.

It was a fantastic, breathtaking experience. Immersing yourself in the most remote nature, guided by our ranger, Patrick, is one of those events that you must experience at least once in your life. The equipped campsites and food were outstanding, there was not a single negative event in our entire experience.

It was a fantastic safari, we managed to see the Big 5 and hundreds of other animals. Very good food and accommodations. We organized our private tour with Meru Slopes and from the first contacts they proved to be very helpful, professional and super quick in responding! We chose a full 4-day tour in the Central Serengeti, Northern Serengeti for the wildebeest migration and Ngorongoro crater sleeping in the Ang'ata tented lodges, a perfect experience for our first safari! The tented lodges were very well looked after, surrounded by nature but with all the comforts and excellent dinner/breakfast and packed lunches provided for the safaris. Through the agency it was possible to organize the pick up at the airport and the two nights in Arusha. Our driver Florian (an expert guide for 7 years) was always kind and helpful, giving us information on the animals and managing to let us spot all the Big Five. We highly recommend Meru Slopes for the professionalism, the services provided and the accommodations chosen for the night. Super experience!!! ☺️

We started with so many doubts about what to expect, how reliable they could be... Doubts and unnecessary paranoia! It was a life-changing experience. Geoffrey (with whom you interface for booking and who answers emails after a few hours maximum) came both on the day of arrival, and on the day of departure to thank us (him to us! FOLLY, we are the ones who are infinitely grateful to him). Douglas (our precious guide during the safari) was always present, capable, polite, never intrusive, always ready to teach us something about the country he loves infinitely and the nature to which he is devoted. The safaris were indescribable: Thanks to Douglas we were always in the best place to be able to observe, for as long as we wanted, what nature had to show us. Lions at half a meter, elephants eating in front of our window... we enjoyed a nature that does not exist in Europe and we are infinitely grateful to Meru Slopes! Practical info: -the hotels where you sleep are all space (except maybe the one in Arusha that has everything you need but is not on the level of others) -you eat with the guide what the various hotels prepare (you can make requests, it is always rice + vegetables + meat) -if booked in low season there are high chances of being alone in the car (which is super recommended!)
