My experience with Suricata Safaris is a mixed one: 1) Guiding - only great experience, all four guides were very kind, helpful, experienced and helped the entire group of 10 people make the summit - special thanks to them - Freddie, Henry, Dave the "Teacher" and Baraka! Also many thanks to the entire team of porthers, cooks, toilet "admins", you made the entire trip so smooth and enjoyeable. 2) Administration - unfortunately, this was a huge disappointment. Our designated hotel was changed twice, first from SG Resort to Safari Homes and lastly to Senator Hotel in arusha (and that really was a downgrade..) and we had to travel in traffic for approx. one more hour each way (four times altogether) due to far location of the hotel from Kilimanjaro Intl. airport. Also, the transport to airport when we were leaving did not come in time and the hotel manager toghether with our guide had to arrange for an alternative transport in last minute (not a pleasant experience, since we almost did not make it to the airport in time)..there is much improvement required on the admin/organizational level..

Let me share a wonderful experience of climbing the Mount Kilimanjaro in September 2026. I and my son were a part of a group of 10 hikers from Slovakia on a 7-day Lemosho Route. We were guided by a fantastic team of four experienced men Henry, Baraka, David known familiarly like Teacher and Freddy who were very supportive and helpful and nice to talk to during the whole trek. The summit night which may be the challenge was thanks to them doable and David´s singing all the way to the top made it for everybody smooth and fast. Not only these four nice guys but also the huge group of porters including cooks made this trip an unforgettable experience and something I wish everyone could give it a try in their lifetime. It’s definitely worth the money it costs. Thank you Suricata Safaris for making my dream come true.🫶
The seven day hike to the top of Kilimanjaro through the Lemosho route was an amazing experience. The guides Confideus and Andrew (Confy and Andy), along with the porters (the Kili Fighters) were really what made the week so special. Every single one of the team was not only extremely professional and polite but also genuine and fun to spend the week with. The price for the trip was very fair considering all the services included. We had a spacious eating tent, high quality sleeping tents and amazing food every day. And the team made sure we had all the right equipment for every step of the way. Only negative thing I can think of is that sometimes the communication with the Suricata Safaris office was a bit difficult.
Our 7 day Lemosho route as two couples was an amazing experience. Guides, porters, chef and the whole group were lovely people and service was top notch. Food was surprisingly good even at high altitude! We have a fond memory of the trip and would recommend going to Kilimanjaro with Suricata for others too.
We had the best experience with Suricata Safaris in Lemosho 7d Kilimanjaro hike. We travelled by group of four friends and everything went smoothly from start till very end. It was amazing how delicious food you are able to have in such high altitudes. We had the luxury to just to concentrate on trekking and immersing on the wonderful views as our guides and porters took care of everything. When arriving to camp there were tents assembled and hot tea available. I’d like share my appreciation to our wonderful guider Confi and Andrew. Thank you!
We (group of 4) did Lemosho 7 day trecking route to Kilimanjaro and all in all the experience was amazing. The personel were true professionals and lovely people. They did everything they could to ensure us reaching the summit. Porters took total care of our duffel bags, tents and meals for example. The porters worked very hard and they are such wonderful people. Special thanks to our guides Confi and Andrew who really did everything they could for us. An experience that I will forever remember with happiness.
It was an incredible experience, the team was very attentive even before starting the trail. Our guide Modest met us at the hotel we were in to make sure we had all the necessary equipment for the trekking. I had never seen such attention to detail, I only recommend that the Suricata team send a checklist of necessary equipment in advance, because if some equipment for trekking was missing, there would be no more time to acquire it. Throughout the trekking, the team and our guides were super attentive, cheerful and kept pace according to our needs. They respected our rhythm, requests for rest and stops for photos. They have total sensitivity in understanding that it is a special moment for us. I just want to thank these people for making it possible to conquer Uhuru Peak. I really recommend this crew, you can bet it will be amazing to share days with these people.
We did Lemosho 7-days with Suricata team and it was really nice! Since the very beginning they took care of everything. The airport pick-up and hotel nights were so good, food, drinks, staff were really kind and respectful. We met our guide on the hotel to do our briefing and he checked every single item we need to have a good trekking. We felt very comfortable and safe with his attention to our gear before starting, means a lot about safety! We met our porters and cooker in the next day during our travel to Lemosho gate. We really loved them and we had a very nice time together. The trekking itself was perfect (I mean it!). Our tent was big enough and very comfortable, with chairs and a table. Every day we had so much food! We couldn't eat it all! Always different menus: rice, pasta, potatoes, beef, chicken, eggs, salad, vegetables, pancakes, soup, bread... even pizza! I ate better than at home! Our guides, Modest and Daudi, stood every time with us and gave us all information and assistance we need to have a good and safe acclimatization. We didn't feel sick during our trip. Every movement de did they were checking if we were OK, really attention and caring guides, we felt very well assisted. During the summit they helped me to carry my gear, they did everything to make it possible to me to summit. I'm so grateful for their kindness and good vibes always! We loved it and we do recommend!
The team was excellent; they worked as if the success were their own. We felt genuinely cared for—they supported us and looked after us. They got the most out of the kitchen, and the logistics were flawless even under difficult conditions. I would happily recommend them to anyone.
From the very beginning, our Kilimanjaro trek with Suricata Safaris was an outstanding experience. I had previously done a safari with them and had been very happy with their service, so when we decided to climb Kilimanjaro, they were my first choice. Once again, they exceeded all expectations. Fred, our guide, was simply exceptional. He was professional, calm, attentive, encouraging, and incredibly experienced throughout the entire trek. Zakira, the assistant guide, was also wonderful, and the whole team was amazing — professional, caring, well-organized, and always ready to help with anything. What made the experience especially memorable was how safe and supported we felt every single day. Climbing Kilimanjaro is a serious challenge, and having such a reliable, capable, and positive team around us made all the difference. Their kindness, expertise, and constant encouragement gave us confidence from start to finish. I wholeheartedly recommend Suricata Safaris to anyone planning a Kilimanjaro trek. They are a fantastic team, and we are truly grateful for this unforgettable experience.
We had a great Kilimanjaro trek, with excellent guides Modest and David, as well as the team of porters. Everyone was incredibly friendly, logistics and communication were easy, and we made it to the summit!
I can highly recommend the tour to Kilimanjaro as a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Winnerson and his team did an excellent job. During the climb and our stays in the camps, they took care of everything, allowing us to focus entirely on the climb and enjoy a unique experience.
Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro was an unforgettable experience! I was lucky to have an incredible guide, Fred, and an amazing support team that made the journey both safe and memorable—especially as a solo traveler. The team included our talented chef, Gasto, and five hardworking and friendly porters: Julius, Amos, Narsis, Emanuel, and Zakia. Their support, encouragement, and care throughout the trek made all the difference. I highly recommend hiking with Suricata. They take care of every detail of the trek and go above and beyond to ensure your safety, comfort, and overall experience on the mountain. Truly a five-star adventure!
From the very first moment, we felt perfectly cared for and well looked after. The Suricata team showed great professionalism and extensive experience in the field. We would like to give a special mention to Mike and Freddie, our guides, as well as the entire team of porters, whose effort and dedication made the experience much easier for us. The equipment we rented was in excellent condition, of high quality, and clearly well-maintained. Without a doubt, experiencing this adventure with Suricata was unforgettable, and we would not hesitate to do it again.
We were a group of 3 with Fred and Mike as guides + a cook and 9 porters. The trek is relatively easy until the summit day which is very challenging even if you are in very good shape due to altitude. All 3 of us summited and thanks to Mike‘s management of the pace we did it before the big crowds got to Uhuru peak which added a lot to the magical moment of the summit. Our guides adapted the pace perfectly to the group, kept checking on everyone and helped us in every possible way, always being very friendly and making the experience so much fun. The food provided was very good and the portions huge. The porters were very efficient and as we got to the camp everyday we only had to wait a few minutes to get into our already built tents with all out stuff still dry inside - which is not to be underrated during 6 rainy days. I would 100% recommend Suricata for this route to anyone interested!
Hiking Kilimanjaro will forever be one of the best experiences of my life. And to do this our group needed people who knew what they were doing since so many things can go wrong. And professional people is definelty what we got. The tour guides, Modest, Teacher and Fred always cheered us up through the whole thing, adverted us to the dangers and commons mistakes and kept us mentally strong til the end. They and their team, a group of 25 people, made sure this dream of ours happened. Working as team, the experience was incredible. The food was always amazing and diverse, the camps were quickly set down, transported and set up again, everyone was always super nice to us and excited for us to be doing this. Shoutout to Luca and Eresto for being the nicest waiters, and Deo the porter with the coolest winter hat and always with a smile on his face!
Climbing Kilimanjaro is truly a once in a lifetime experience, so you definitely want to take the best out of it so you get home with loads of stories to tell. We made the right decision to go with Suricata Safaris as with them, our experience exceeded our expectations. We weren’t very lucky with the weather but they brought something else - a group of 25 passionate people completely dedicated to elevating our experience as high as possible - and we all really did went as high as Africa goes! Freddy made us feel very safe and motivated, and while Teacher was the best in telling us stories about Tanzanian animals or about culture, Modest was a blast to be around of, teaching us songs or singing with us Portuguese songs. Although it was very cold, the tenderness of Lucas and Eraesto bring us meals and coffee in the morning made us feel warm at all times. The trekking days went way faster than we’ve imagined. And to arrive to each camp and see everything mounted and a hot tea waiting for us made us feel very privileged and spoiled. At the end of each long day, all we had to do was just to recover energies, calories and share stories between us. And that sure makes a hard task like climbing Kilimanjaro way easier!
We did the Lemosho route in 7 days between late November and early December. Overall, we are extremely satisfied with the quality of the service provided. We were somewhat unlucky with the weather, as we had almost 6 days of continuous rain, which made the trek much more challenging in terms of logistics, technical difficulty, and comfort. However, it also rewarded us with fabulous snowy views. From the third day onwards, we were trekking with a beautiful white blanket as our backdrop. The Suricatas team brought a support crew of 25 people for our group of 6. Freddy was the main guide, assisted by two additional guides. We also had two cooks, a tent management crew, and a team of porters, including two summit porters. The team demonstrated great experience and provided a strong sense of safety to the group, showcasing profound knowledge of the mountain. The food was always varied and of excellent quality. We had a portable toilet tent included, but the sleeping and dining tents could have been of better quality—this is perhaps the only area for improvement. The entire team was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout the trip. All six of us reached the summit, and it was a truly beautiful experience. Overall, the trek is demanding but highly rewarding. Having spoken to others who have also climbed Kilimanjaro, I am deeply convinced that choosing Suricatas for this adventure was an excellent decision. Suricatas asked us to do a review about them, and here it is: sincerely, we loved it and we loved the team. Hope this is helpful for someone!
Thank you Freddy, Teacher and Modest for guiding us through this amazing experience! What a great team you are (with such a vast experience). The seven days were hard but the kind team (with 25 people in total!) made everything easier. A special thanks to Lucas and Heresta, always with a smile and encouraging words. Also, food was great, totally unexpected (thanks Gaston and Watson). That said, I highly recommend climbing Kilimanjaro with Suricata!
Amazing and tough experience. I am very grateful to the whole team, who worked in very challenging conditions because there was rain almost every day. Our mountain guides were wonderful: Freddy is very experienced and wise, Modest is so fun to be around and Teacher told us a lot about tanzania. Also, special thanks to Lucas, who always had the right words to say and, together with Erasto, both took care of us from morning till bedtime. Food was great and all of our requests were heard! All of our group made it to the summit, which we owe to everyone involved, always so kind to us. The only thing that could be better is the quality of the tents, that should be waterproof and, unfortunately, weren't.
