We just returned from Tanzania at Rhino Explorer Tours Safaris. We had 2 trips that far exceeded our wildest dreams. I find the contact of this guys from a friend who did safari with them last year. Worrying and knowing nothing about Africa, I told Daniel that within our two weeks we wanted to do safari to see big Five and trekking Kilimanjaro. We gave him abudget that he respected and he planned an absolutely amazing adventures. Not only was each of the places we visited different from one another but each had its own specific charms. From the moment we go off the plane is Kikimanjaro and met our driver guide Joshua who is friendly and charming, we had a shortly brief while drive to the hotel. We arrived at Marimba hotel and had a cool night in a simple but fenced place with great staffs. In the hotel Joseph mananger and staff where warm friendly and kind, the food is excellent and service was great. Our knowledgeble guide frank meet us in the morning for Tarangire Park. The park was real amazing incaunter elephants, Lions and other animals. African elephants are even bigger than what on my mind before! We did also Lake manyara, serengeti and the crater. The crater was so wonderful, my wife she like the fact that animals hides inside huge pit. We were luck to see a lots of animals. Kilimanjaro trek was an experience that can't be described, Lemosho route was our choice, we had fantastic view from shira ridge. Our guide Julius and his team made our trekking smooth..drink a lot water and stretech slowly.. Polepole..he says. The last day was adventurous and hardiest of all. The soup prepared by cook every evening was so delicious and helpful. Thank you Juli we manage to summit Kilimanjaro. Consider that our trip included several places it all went off without a glitch. We had several nights inside mobile tent. I like the fact that we sleep inside the park area and visited by zebras around in serengeti. Once again, thank you guys and thank you Dan for answering my many questions and emails and for being friendly and patient with several phone calls. This whole adventure from beginning to end has been a trip of a lifetime thank to you. This was our experience and we definitly recommed

Just got home from a crazy tour with amazing Malaki Tumsif as our guide. His knowledge and respect for animals and nature is incredible. He made this event something unforgettable. Anytime again
For our first safari in Tanzania, the company advised us to choose Tarengire national park for its many animals. Lucas was the perfect guide. He shared with us his big knowledge about different species and animals, but also about the culture of the country as we saw Maasai villages before starting the safari. He took time to explain the way of living of each animal, showed us different trees and birds. We really had fun, Asante sana!
My wife and I did the 7 night wildebeest migration safari in mid-August 2019. We were picked up at the airport and driven to Arusha to meet Daniel and asked to handover the full trip cost in cash – several thousand USD. Do not do this as if we hadn’t we would have cancelled and used another company due to issues which occurred later. I suggest you ‘pay as you go’, only pay by credit card and get a receipt. Others did this on our tour. Once we paid the money Daniel failed to answer any of our calls during the trip when we tried to inform him of the guide’s behaviour or seek his assistance. It was really unprofessional. The first night, the guide, Malaki came to our hotel and told us he would pick us up the next day at 8am for our drive into the Serengeti. We were ready at 7.45am at reception having checked out of the hotel but Malaki did not arrive until 10.45am without bothering to answer our calls or inform us of the delay. Upon arrival Malaki informed us that he was late because the others on the tour wanted to sleep in. This caused an argument between us and the other tour members which was a disaster for starting our week long safari experience together. We later found out after bonding with the group that Malaki was in fact lying and the delay was due to the tour company not having all the equipment for the campers. This really was an awful start to the camaraderie of the group and almost ruined the holiday. One customer even left the group after this day due to having experienced the late departure twice in two days and the lies. The second night after a long drive to the Serengeti we arrived at what Malaki said was our hotel at 7pm only for us to be told at reception that it was full. Our hotel was in fact an hour’s drive away through the pitch black wilderness and Malaki with reckless driving hit a buffalo on the way and failed to stop or show any concern. The other tour members were camping near the first hotel so it meant we lost 2 hours of safari in the morning going to collect them. I would advise that either all members of the tour either stay in a hotel or camp. As we stayed in hotels but frequently had to wait for lengthy periods of time to pack up and set up the camping equipment for others in the morning and evening which made us miss a lot of the best time for safari experiences. The organisation was very poor especially when the hotel package is very expensive. The serengti heritage camp and kilimanjoa accommodation were really good with super staff but the rest were quite poor. The sernegeti heritage camp boss ensured we had a hot breakfast at 5.30am when all the others just gave us packed boxes. We never really got to enjoy the hotels during daylight as most of the time we were waiting for the campers to set up or pack up which again was really poor organisation. We repeatedly requested that he could drop us at the hotels whilst all the camp site activity was being done but Malaki just repeatedly ignored us and did whatever he felt like. This after spending double what the customers staying at the camp site paid. Wildlife was great. We saw the big 5 plus wildebeest migration and a lot more. However, after a while Malaki would not wait very long for us to take in the sites or see animals that we wanted to as he had a mind of his own and was always on the phone. On the way out of the Sernegti Malaki took us to a Masai camp of one of his friends and they tried to charge us $20 each just to visit the village. We all said no and Malaki spent the rest of the tour sulking, being grumpy and not listening to anything we requested. At the end one of the tour one member chose to give a tip to the chef but not Malaki due to his behaviour and Malaki, due to his arrogance, started shouting at him. It was really shocking. I really wouldn’t recommend this company. I would recommend you hire a private bus with a group of 4-6 friends/family and there were many tour companies which looked much more professional than this one.
We spent a perfect week with our super driver Freddy and masterchef Rogers in Tanzania, the taxi was waiting for as at Kilimanjaro Airport and later also Daniel, the owner greeted us at the hotel, than we spent 5 days with another couple on safari, we spent the nights in the camps, the tent was OK, the camps have always beautiful panorama (they are although sometimes rather dirty...), our masterchef waited us every evening with fresh African dinner (very delicious always!). During the day we visited different national parks, in Serengeti we saw all the possible animals (Freddy is a talented driver we found sleeping lions, elephant families and lot of cheetahs in the early mornig and late afternoon hours), in Ngorongoro we only missed the rhino, but we saw the great migration at Mara river which is an unforgettable moment, we also enjoyed the Lake Manyara Park, the village nearby and the fig tree lodge is the nicest place with very welcoming staff. We enjoyed every moment, absolutely to recommend!! Asante sana, Daniel! Iza & Mark
I booked with this company based on the many positive reviews I read on this website. I arrived on the first day, the pick up was OK, I spent the whole day in Arusha as per the trip schedule. The second (trip first day) was generally OK. By end of day, however, our guide Malaki dropped me off at Kilimamoja lodge and immediately left, I went to the reception to check in, but the responsible person there advised there is no reservation in my name, I tried to contract Malaki but he did not answer, and it almost took 1 hour to check in, while all other guests of other companies checked in smoothly without any issues. Rhino response on WhatsApp is too slow. The pick up time on the second day was set by Malaki at 7:00-7:30 AM. I waked up at 5:30 to be ready on time, he texted me at 7:17 AM saying that a couple from the same group who were on camping accommodation asked to buy some camping stuff, they also requested not to wake up early since they were on honeymoon. The driver eventually arrived for pick up on 10:40 AM although we had a long way driving to Serengeti. At this point, I preferred not to continue the trip with this company, and I arranged for private Safari with Savannah Explorer & I was lucky to do so. I met with other couple of the same group by coincidence at a lodge in Northern Serengeti, they advised that Rhino were just cheating, the couple who were on honeymoon never asked for buying stuff or waking up late & this was Malaki's arrangement. Similarly, Malaki informed this couple that the pick delay came at my request. On other side, I contacted Malaki after withdrawal from the group trip to contact Danial to confirm the balance due to Rhino since I did not pay any of the due amount from the very beginning, Malaki told the group that I am in contact with him asking to re-join the group since no other company accepted to arrange a trip for me. In addition, he sent me a video on WhatsApp of 2 lions hunting a Wildebeest as if he took this video during the trip to show me that I missed a lot due to my leave, Malaki did not notice that the car hood that appeared in the video had a logo other than Rhino's logo, which is indicating that the video was not taken by him at all. Finally, Daniel contacted me during my stay in Tanzania threatening me that he will refer to the governmental authorities in order not to let me go out of Tanzania until I pay his money although he asked to pay through the website & the website delayed in sending the payment link. I left Tanzania on 21.08.2019 and remained in contact with him to pay his money. I paid him on 26.08.2019 and had the option not to pay him at all, but I finally paid him $861 as per his request from a moral perspective only.
A safari in Tanzania is really recommendable, because you can observe really many different animals. However, this is true for all companies that organize safaris, so we would like to review the company Rhino Explorer Tours with their boss Daniel. The organization was unsatisfactory for us for the following reasons: - On the day of arrival no one came to pick us up from the airport in Arusha, although we send the relevant information in advance by e-mail. We had to organize a taxi ourselves, which Daniel then paid. - On the second day we should be picked up 8:40 from the hotel. Finally we started around 11 o'clock and after many telephone calls. That was very frustrating as we were not sure if we would be picked up at all. - On the second day there was no drinking water available. Since we had not prepared ourselves for it and did not bring our own water with us, this was very unpleasant for us. In the end we bought it ourselves after the game drive, although it was actually included in the price. - On the third day there was no game drive, although it was included in the program. This was due to the fact that we always had to wait on a second Rhino Explorer Tours vehicle had, which never showed up. This led to the fact that we arrived late at the campsite and hat our dinner after 22 o'clock. - On the fourth day the breakfast was omitted. - On the last day in Arusha Daniel wanted to come for dinner, but he never showed up. One should not rely on him. - We did not receive several other things that were promised by e-mail, such as sim card and Masai blanket. We recommend Rhino Explorer Tours therefore not to promise these things in advance if they are not adhered to. We would also like to add the following points for the sake of completeness: - We liked the Venice Hotel in Arusha and also the accommodation at Lake Manyara very much. - We were very satisfied with our driver and guide Francis, a freelancer who was hired by Daniel for the time of our tour.
I contacted several companies while looking for a low-budget group camping safari and Rhino Explorers offered, by far, the best deal for a 6 day safari. Besides the 6 days between Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, it also included a stay at an hotel before and after the safari, transport from the airport to the hotel, and transport to my next hostel in Moshi, after the safari. (we also visited a Masai Village and did a walking safari in Lake Manyara, which were not included, by I totally recommend) The safari accommodations were surprisingly good. The tents and sleeping bags were in very good conditions, and the lodge where we stayed in Lake Manyara was excellent (way better than I expected for a "camping" safari). Daniel is kind and helpful. Despite the problems I was facing with the online payment, he was always very flexible, patient and understanding. Of course, not everything was perfect. We had some bureaucratic problems at the entrance of Serengeti, which made us wait for about 1h (may not have been Rhino Explorer's fault though). However, our guide, Silvester, made a noticeable effort to give us a great safari after that. We also had problems with the tires, which didn't seem to be in good conditions from the start. Also, the food wasn't always that much for the six of us. The overall experience was amazing, with an excellent price-quality relation, and we got to see the big 5!
Me and my wife celebrated the honeymoon in Zanzibar and ended the trip with a fantastic 5 days safari group tour. Absolutely the best trip in our life. There is nothing bad to say about the staff, they were professional, Daniel was service minded and arranged everything superb, our chef cooked great food and last but not least our driver Elias, very safe in his driving and talented in his role as a guide.
We were in Africa for a month and took two modestly priced safaris. The 7 day Rhino Tour Safari out of Arusha was times better than the first we took out of Johannesburg. Dan, our booking agent, met with us personally at the Venice Hotel (which was all inclusively included with our safari--and really very nice. He went over the itinerary in detail and told us what to expect transportation wise to the beginning of the safari. Our tour guide, Mandela, was an overseer who worked hard to have us see the game we hoped to see in all sorts of situations--alone in groups by water, in dry condition, etc.--we saw the Big Five with him including leopards and rhinos. The food was too plentiful and every effort to know and please us. We chose the semi accomodated version and stayed in a platform tented campground with infinity pool overlooking the Great Rift Valley--WOW--and we got to do this coming and going. One night, however we camped in tents on the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater--and that was a disaster. Our tent was erected in the middle of a Zebra gathering ground--and while being close to zebras was cool--stepping in their poop was not. Our equipment was poor--our tent's zipper was broken, and the "sleeping bags" were really children's slumber sacks that offered no warmth and little room for this high altitude cold place. ( Dan told us upon return we had used another company's equipment and apologized profusely. The joy of descending into the Ngorongoro Crater the next day, quickly soothed our steaming anger. We were treated very well with much personal consideration--we are in our mid 70's and were doing more adventuresome safari than most folks our age. Be sure you accept the offer of the enice Hotel--it is only a few blocks from the major market--which is an adventure to see by itself. I also must add our flight was delayed and yet our driver was there to pick us up and transport us to Arusha--it was a treat in and of itself to see locals along the way doing what they do late Sunday afternoon. The car was new and the driver eager to converse with us. And Dan was equally accommodating for our late afternoon onward flight.
My fiance and me really wanted to do a safari along the Northern route in Tanzania and after lots of research happened to find Rhino Explorer. We had some recommendations from friends, such as the big and famous Leopard Tours etc., but once we saw the prices, we found this was above our budget. We at first were hesitant to book Rhino, as we didnt know much about it, but with every contact with Daniel and his team we became more comfortable. When we arrived at Kilimanjaro Airport, we got picked up and Daniel, who is the owner of Rhino Explorer met us at the hotel in Arusha and gave us all the necessary details. He really took a lot of time and gave us great insights and accepted our payment in Euro cash, which caused us zero transaction cost (credit card payments in Tanzania can be extremely costly due to local bank charges of 5-10%). He also at the end again met us personally and arranged for me to get a souvenir that I was really looking for. The safari included all key parts we wanted to see, Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro,... The accomodations were not luxurious, but really totally fine for staying, and it was also a real exciting Africa experience to really stay in a tent in Serengeti and Ngorongoro. Ich kann gar nicht verstehen, warum manche Leute so viel Geld ausgeben, Rhino ist in Sachen Preis-Leistung absoluter Sieger. Leopard Tours for example offers the same type of vehicle and charges double. Maybe they stay in some nicer accomodations, but is that worth three times the money? I don't think so. The safari was absolutely fantastic! Abdul, our driver and guide gave us so many valuable insights and at the same time entertainment - when you come across him, make sure you go with him - really great guide! He knows a lot about animals and can give lots of background. He also went to the next level to make sure the group sees everything we wanted to see. So was our cook Matthaia/Matt who made really yummie food. We loved it and can absolutely recommend this! Anytime again! We had some early morning wakeups, to see the sunrise. We got to see how a lion hunted a wild hog (she didnt get the hog), saw chitas, leopards, a rhino, tons of elephants, giraffes, zebras,... They did deserve and receive a good tip from us, as they did a fantastic job. Daumen nach oben - das war einfach eine klasse Tour, die wir mit genau den gleichen Leuten sehr gerne wieder machen würden. Absolut empfehlenswert - eine super Erfahrung - jederzeit gerne wieder!
We were by Rhino explorer safari tours 5 optimistic day in Serengeti and it was wonderful experience!! Our guide David is so excellent guide and he takes care of his customers. He knows very much about the animals and told us everything about them. Food was very good during the safari. We spent 2 nights at the camping site in a tent. Seronera camp is not so good than Simba camp is.Take a good flashlight and toiletpaper with you. Shower is only cold water and toilets are just a hole on a floor. Simba camp is much better and nice camp. At night we could hear buffalos eating grass next to our tent and hyenas voice. Safari was such an adventure that everyone should do it once in a lifetime! We can recommend Rhino tours , everything went so well. Overnight is in a campingsite which is basic, not a luxury tent.During the 3 days we saw all the animals: lions, gepards, leopards, elefants, rhinos, giraffes, monkeys, buffalos, gazelles, mongooses, hippos, crocodile,zebras,gnuus,hyenas,jackals,eagles.....
This trip was life changing and Daniel and David truly exceeded my expectations. While I wasn't part of the day to day planning, I understand that Daniel was responsive and accommodating, especially with many changes to our itinerary. The flexibility was super appreciated. Upon arrival, Daniel was there ON TIME (always) to pick us up with a smile and handshake. Daniel comes with a ton of knowledge of about life in Tanzania and the info we received about the people, culture and the government was incredibly interesting. David, our unicorn safari guide, was exceptional! He had a wealth of knowledge about animals and animal behavior AND he can make the animal noises down to a T - even getting them to respond. He can also spot an animal from crazy far - like superman eye sight. He knew where to go to get the right camera shot and somehow had an innate ability to find animals. He was also incredibly polite, entertaining, humorous and we embraced him as part of our group. He's our friend now! We were fed very very well (although be sure to tell them of any dietary restrictions ahead of time). We were always kept safe and we couldn't have been more pleased with the service and experience. Oh and we saw the BIG 5!!! Here are 10 tips from me: Tip #1 - Get local currency! Smaller bills especially for the sake of essential needs on the ground and for tips. Tip #2 - If you get car sick easily, bring Dramamine for the drive out to the safari. As David says, it's a "free massage." Tip #3 - You are going to sing "the song" so just embrace it and don't be shy. I can now sing it on my own after I learned the words! It's fun! Tip #4 - Load up on cold beer before you head out for the safari. You'll want it at night. Tip #5 - Don't count on cell service for a lot of the time. Park entrances will have it but not all camp sites. Can go many many many hours without internet or connectivity. So plan your instagram posts in between gates! Tip #6 - Ask for the local menu wherever you go so you can get a flavor of Tanzania and if you NEED spice, buy your hot sauce and use it along the way. Tip #7 - Don't be offended or surprised when you feel like you're in The Lion King with all of the words you hear. The words from TLK are REAL words in Swahili. Tip #8 - Don't feed the monkeys! When David says watch out for that monkey, take heed! They're thieves and food snatchers. Tip #9 - Get a zoom lens for your phone if that's all you've got. Some animals can be quite far and it really helps. Tip #10 - Don't forget your contact solution and a back up pair of contact lenses. You will not find any of provisions. NONE. Highly recommend this company and Daniel & David are amazing!
I was somewhat anxious about booking a safari in Tanzania and worried about the quality of the company even despite good reviews. So I booked the trip with Rhino Explorers and hoped for the best. Well having just returned from my trip I can say that I was so happy with my decision. Daniel who is the owner frequently checked with me to ensure that all was well. My guide Emmanuel was so easy going, great driver, friendly, and was very knowledgeable about the animals and safari details. My group of 6 ALL thought very highly of him. He made the trip so special for each of us. We agreed that we were so lucky that we were with him. The truck was clean and comfortable. Food was pretty good with more than ample amounts and variety. The Venice hotel in Arusha was clean and very comfortable for my pre and post safari and I was surprised that a budget safari included a hotel of this calliber. Daniel worked with me individually to modify a few details of my trip to meet my needs which were easily done. Airport pick up/drop off was on time. You will be glad you went with this company and I highly recommended this company. You will have a spectacular safari that you will remember forever.
We had an amazing time on this safari tour in Tanzania with our driver, David (AKA friend of Simba). He was friendly, knowledgable, funny, kept us safe and entertained the entire time. The tour itself was spectacular, we saw the Big 5 plus countless other animals with beautiful scenery throughout. Accommodation was extremely comfortable, the food was fantastic. Daniel was so helpful during the booking process and arrangements for meeting us at the airport. Highly recommend Rhino Explorer Tours & Safaris.
I was supposed to climb Kilimanjaro, but got sick uppn arrival. While waiting to get better, I encountered Daniel and asked for a super last minute deal for a safari. I want to be in a camping safari in a group so I wont go overbudget. And boy, he exceeded every expectation. He got me into a group with a very very affordable price The safari is great. The food was marvelous. Camping sites good and clean enough.I encountered so many animals. The car broke down, but no biggie. The driver was a mcgyver of some kind. He easily fixes everything. But what's great about Daniel and his team is his personal touches to ensure i am comfortable enough. On my last day, I got some issue with my ears...and there he goes again saving me.He took me to some health center and got me to Moshi all save and sound. Thank you, Daniel. You are truly amazing. Highly recommended service! Thumbs up!
Our family of five had an awesome time during our 7 night and 6 day safari with Rhino Explorer. We learnt a lot and experienced much more than expected. I can really recommend this length of trip to be able to fully explore and enjoy the lovely parks and all the unique animals. Our personal driver and excellent guide David had a huge knowledge and shared everything with us in a very friendly and relaxing manner making us all feel safe, never afraid and with a great home feeling. On top of this our professional chef Action served us delicious food both for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Even our three children expressed their ratings for the pumpkin soup one evenings as "the best soup they ever had tasted - why can't we have this at home"! We where amazed and was wondering how such good food could be kocked during quite simple conditions. The first contacts with Daniel and Rhino Explorer was also very easy and he quickly built up a trust and good relation with us even though the distance between Sweden and Arusha was large before we arrived in Tanzania. We were picked-up on time at the airport and transported to the very nice Venice Hotel to eat and rest before going out on the safari. During the safari David where spotting animals all over, it's amazing to be close to someone with such good eyes - we managed to see all big fives, the wild beast migration and of course a lot more. This safari is something we will remember as one of the best travels ever for very long time! Many thanks to Daniel, David and Action at Rhino Explorer. We hope to be back and see you some day again!
Amazing trip and organization! If you are looking for an organized safari at great rate, Rhino Explorer is it! I had trouble getting answers to my question by mail at first, but when I got the whatsapp of Daniel, he was able to answer every question really fast. He sent me a list of must have that was very useful for a first safari. We got airport transfer even arriving at the middle of the night. Once there, Daniel is really nice and available at all time. We even got some welcome gifts! Hotel in Arusha was basic but clean and comfortable with a small restaurant. We took the 5 days safari in Tarangire/Serengeti/Ngorongoro. The parks them self are worth their reputation for the landscapes and number of animals. The guide/driver Walter gave a lot of explanation on animals behavior and life and was always listening to our needs and requests. The cook Richard prepared really good food suitable for all kind of diets (vegetarian included). Camp sites are really basic (one dining area, cold showers and toilets) but it really makes you live the safari fully (animals are coming really close at night/morning). After Safari, we took the "Materuni falls" day trip. The place is amazing and the coffee activity was one of the best moment in our trip. I would recommend since he allows to discover another face of Tanzania and have a real exchange with locals.
I booked two tours, one 8 days and one 7 days to maximise the time spent in the Serengeti and the area around (like Ngorongoro mainly). The first tour was with Protus and his chef Fenna. Well what can I say? Both just did an amazing job!! Protus is a perfect tour guide, absolutely knowledgable about flora and fauna with 14 years of experience as a safari guide. A calm gentleman who is always focussed on making sure that his guests have a nice safari trip. We saw all big five (even a rhino!), many many lions and even a leopard relaxing on the tree. And Protus even managed to show us thousands of migrating zebras and wildebeests which was a very special event! Fenna was an amazing chef, all his meals were excellent, especially if you consider the limited facilities given in a camping site environment. Tour number 2 was with David as a guide and his chef Jacob. There's not much I can add because tour number 2 was just as amazing as tour number 1! David is a great tour guide who found all the wildlife, he literally smells the animals! We saw many many lions and showed us the wildebeest migration at River Mara which was fantastic! He is always energetic and has lots of humour. Jacob is a hell of a chef who provided many delicious meals (every meal he cooked). I can absolutely recommend this tour operator to anyone considering to go on a safari tour. The only reason why I chose them before was the overwhelmingly positive feedback (considering the fact that safari tours are rather expensive my number one priority was to invest the money in a conpany I could trust) and now I know that it is absolutely justified! Thank you so much for the great tours, I would always do it again!! PS: There is only one negative aspect which does not change the fact how much I enjoyed the tour - and how much you are probably going to enjoy the tour, but it is important to me. You will be expected (you have to) to give a tip of $10 a day to the guide. DO NOT get me wrong the guides absolutely deserved it and it was a pleasure to tip them for their great services. My concern is that the guides depend on the tips to make a living, they get barely paid by their companies. So here comes the issue: Since you have to give a $10 tip per day you will probably not give much more, so basically you give them their salary but they are not going to get much tip money (in the most cases, the exception proves the rule). This allows the companies to maximise their profits - at the expenses of the guide (and chefs of course because they get less tips!!) and they can make the tours appear to look cheaper (since you pay $10 per day more in cash). But this probably doesn't just apply to this tour operator but safari tour operators in general.
We did the 5 optomistic and it was amazing !! The Ngorongoro crater is completely alive with animals. LOTS of lions :) Accomodation was great, food really good !! The only disappointment we had was about the number of game drive : Its more like 2 days game drive Day 1 : pick up, hotel and dinner Day 2 : getting to Serengeti, about 7 hours with the stops, so its 2-3 hours of safari that day Day 3 : Serengeti up to lunch and then drive to the crater with a stop for Maasai village Day 4 : morning in the Ngorongoro crater up to lunch and then drive back to the hotel Day 5 : breakfast at the hotel and transportation But the game drive itself were perfect :)
We enjoyed our safari with Rhino. David was our guide and driver, he´s just fantastic! Excellent driver! We were all (we were six in the car) impressed. He is very knowledgeable not only regarding wildlife, but on all aspects of Tanzania. The safari was perfectly organized, and we appreciated especially the manager of the company who went both to meet us when we arrived at Arusha and then say Goodbye after the safari and hear our opinion. There was a small surprise from the manager too. The accommodation at the hotel at Arusha was O. K.. Our chef prepared tasty meals druing the safari, the night in the tent on the upper rim of Ngorongoro was a real treat. I noticed someone had complained about the toilets, but we did not find anything wrong with them. Obviously, this is a safari and one cannot expect a Hilton Hotel class amenities. We were very plesanatly surprised with Rhino Explorer and can fully recommend them. Our safari was four days actual safari (two half days and there full days.
From the minute we landed at Arusha airport, David and the team coordinated everything without a hitch! We were taken to the hotel with meals provided, then set out the next day for the safari. David and Action (driver/guide and chef) made us feel comfortable and explained what we were seeing the whole way. We got to see elephants, a leopard, cheetah, lions and even Rhino! David made the whole experience fun and exhilarating and was smiling the whole time. Definitely recommend these guys!!
The staff is very helpful from the first moment when they pick you up at the airport and take you to the hotel, it's all included. Daniel, the two Emanuel make you feel welcome from the first moment. The days are organized very well and with Pole-Pole mindset we did everything. We saw all the animals included on the safari, maybe we missed the Leopard but we saw two times Cheetahs. It was very nice and comfortable to sleep in a tent in the middle of Serengeti Park and at the top of Ngorongoro hills. The bathrooms were really acceptables to be in the middle of nowhere, hot water a few times. John was always ready to not let us starve, so he cooked for us all the time during the Safari: morning, lunch and evening with super tasty and traditional dishes. The guides in the Safari: John and Thomas made us feel very comfortable and welcome, they taught us a lot of new things and Kiswahili language too. Thomas was very friendly, has a great knowledge of life. A beautiful person to spend time with, forwarding is very nice and a Great Safari Explorer. Finally Andrew is a good mentor. This experience was fantastic and will remain in our hearts forever. Maisha marefu.
We booked "5 Days Optimistic Serengeti and Ngorongoro Safari in Tanzania" and are so pleased with our choice. It was really value for money! Our guide David was the best! A good driver, extremely knowledgeable and funny. And our chef Action´s cooking was superb every day. We had a couple of amazing days with many close up animal experiences and even big 5. Thanks also to the nice Daniel from Rhino, who took so good care of us before and after the safari. Thank you so much!
Booked the five day optimistic safari for a very good price. We visited both Serengeti and Ngorogoro crater. It was perfect! We got to see the Big Five and lots of other animals. David was a great guide and the food cooked by Action was delicious! Would defenietly recommend it!!
First, I was a bit concerned to book my safari from home via e-mail, but I shouldn't have any doubts at all. They picked me up from the airport (even that there was a 2-hour long queuing at the border...), I've got dinner and breakfast at the hotel, which was really nice espacially after the long journey. The hotel was very good and clean. Daniel came over the evening before the safari to explain everything, and answer all my questions. The safari was well-organised, very nice food, and we saw lots of animals (only the rhino was missing): lions munching on a buffalo, cheetah jumping on our car, wildebeest giving birth and lots more. The campsites were OK, very basic, but no complaints at all, espacially for this price. Our driver and our cook did a great job I think. For my last night I returned to the same hotel, again with dinner and breakfast, and being dropped at the airport next day. Everything was according to plan, according to promises and expectations, or even above my expectations. :) Very good value for money, espcially compared to many other companies. I really enjoyed it, and many thanks to Rhino Tours for all the organisations and all their work. I definitely recommend them!!!!
We had the most amazing experience with Rhino Safari Tours. Everything was organized perfectly- the pick up from Arusha Airport to the hotel, the whole tour and then again the drop off at Arusha Airport. Daniel helped us with all the questions we had, replied to all of our emails within a day and when we were back in Arusha after the safari, he even drove us to the airport and another booking office because we wanted to change our flights. He did everything to help us and there was nothing to worry about. The safari itself exceeded all our expectations. Our tourguide David went above and beyond to give us a great safari experience. We saw all the big five and every other animal there is in the Serengeti, Tarangire and Ngorongoro National Parks. The hotels, lodges and Camping areas were clean, comfortable and definitely more than we had expected. Our chef always cooked delicious african food and prepared lunchboxes for during the day. In the evening, we played cards with the other tour members, sat around the campfire and talked or enjoyed a cold beer after a long day. David always made sure that we all felt comfortable, helped out with tee and medecine when my friend didn‘t feel well and told us about his experience on other safaris. During the game drives, he could give us all the information about the animals and also always knew where to find them. There is literally nothing I could complain about and I recommend Rhino Safari Tours to everybody who‘s looking for a great and well organized trip to the most beautiful National Parks in Tanzania.
Daniel, the head of the company and my key contact has been extremely helpful to plan our safari up to each and every detail. His advices and expertise in the subject made the journey perfectly scheduled and excellent service made the experience with the company unforgetable. This is trustworthy and highly recommended company. Not only the company has exceeded the expectations but really caring approach made us fall in love with Tanzania and its people. It was the first time in Africa for all the group of 6 people and the expectations were controversial. Daniel and his team treated us as friends rather than a distant customers. I would also like to say special thanks to our guide and driver Peter. His profound knowledge of wildlife and animals habits allowed us to know so many new things! It is also important to note that his experience helped us to enjoy the road, despite the fact one day it was raining cats and dogs and the road was flooded. We had not got stuck however we've seen many jeeps blocked and stuck in the mud and people had to push the cars out. Peter really knows the roads and the way to drive in any extreme situations and locations. I am really happy we chose Rhino Explorers and would recommend it to everyone!
Small safari tour operaror run by a Tanzanian. I booked the 7 day safari and from the pick up on day 1 until the very last day all the service and attention given was exceptional. The safari guide Salem gave us a lot of information about flora and fauna and the chef made great meals. The campsites we stayed in were clean and new. Before and during the safari/stay Daniel was always present to assist on any doubts and answering straight away. I can just encourage you to book with him.
Myself and my partner were looking for an affordable safari package online when we came across Rhino Explorer & Tours. This was our first visit to Africa, so at first felt a little apprehensive about booking a safari online. We need not have worried though, as Daniel, our company rep answered all of our questions prior to the trip and addressed any of our concerns beforehand. Looking back, our safari experience could not have been better. Our guide, Anwar Abdalla, was excellent at tracking and anticipating wildlife in the national parks, as well as describing the complex ecosystems of the Northern Tanzanian Wildlife Reserves. My partner is a Veterinarian by trade, who bombarded Anwar with questions about local flora and fauna. Anwar was able to answer all her questions with immense detail, and during the course of the trip, we realised how fortunate we were to have such a talented guide. The living arrangements and amenities such as showering and washroom facilities were a welcome surprise, as we anticipated something more basic from the trip. Most campsites had hot water available, and the washrooms were clean and well looked after. Our cook, Amidi, looked after our meals, and managed to make some excellent meals for us during the trip even with limited resources. Overall, for a budget safari, we could not have been happier with experience, where our only regret was that we didnt stay for longer. If you are looking for a camping safari into the major wildlife reserves in Northern Tanzania, we would recommend Rhino Explorer. Asante Sana Daniel and the team.
The safari was amazing and we were lucky to have Michael, a very knowledgeable guide with some tricks such as starting the day early so we can get to the animals before everyone else. We saw all types of animals except for the rhino (ironically). The camping sites were alright I guess (I hadn't camped before).Do bring extra covers or clothing as they are at a high altitude and can get a bit chili during the night. The hotels in Arusha are basic, but they offer everything one might need for the short stops they are intended for. Daniel, the Rhino representative in Arusha was very helpful with things like money exchange, suggestions for food and a lot of information about the local culture.
We were the family of 5 people, my husband, my daughters Jacquline, Irene and Adela planned vacation in Africa . Fortunately we booked with Rhino Explorer Tours &Safaris. For me, this was my second safari in Africa but my first time in Tanzania to Lake Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro, and Tazangire. Wow!!!! what an amazing experience. Easy to work with, honesty, easy to book, and constant contact to make sure we were happy prior to trip. The guide David was the best, informative, funny, helpful, knew every animal, and helped us get some amazing photographs. We will add him and Agness (the owner) to our Christmas Card list few months to come. They are our family now. The scenery was amazing, at evening our accomodation was set by the cook, the campsites and camping gears were clean, food and drinks were fastastic. We slept while surrounded by animals in the wild was a bit scary to say the least. At night we imagine animals visiting the sorroundings of our camps, but the rangers were out for security. You can tell that Rhino Explorer had done their research. Everything honesty!. The accomodation at Tarangire was unbelievable (Fanaka campsite), we both slept at the room. It felt like you reached a paradise in the middle of the jungle. straight out of the movies. David made our experience feel like we were filming a movie for national geographic. The food was great, the service was amazing, and the hospitality was top notch. The fact that we were able to spend about an hour with the Masaai villages in their homes and dancing and singing with them was unreal. Have nothing negative to say about this trip or this company. We enjoy see many bigest trees and flowers, wonderfull crater, lions, hippo, tallest giraffe, cheetah hunting impala, elephants, zebra, wildebeests in plenty, kingfischer, owl, eagle, flamingos in plenty and Maasai people cultures just to mention few. Thank you so so much Agness for such an amazing tour. Next time we will be back. Thank you Goodluck, David and Action for such an amazing 5 days teaching us so much about your country, the safaris, the animals, and your culture...
Dann ist das Auto 3x kaputt gegangen - es sprang nicht an, „the changer is not working anymore because of the road conditions“, die Kupplung.
