This was the best safari experience I could ever have asked for! Nuru was our guide, and this man is incredibly knowledgeable. He has the eyes of an eagle, spotting animals long before I could even make out what they were! He was so accommodating to all our needs, made us smile and laugh, and gave us some amazing wildlife encounters while sharing his incredible knowledge throughout the trip. By day 4, we had already seen everything we hoped for, including leopards, lions and elephants. When Nuru asked if there was anything else I wanted to see, I said a hornbill. The following day, during lunch, he told me to grab my camera and follow him quickly. He had been searching for one ever since and had found it for me! That really sums up Nuru: he doesn’t miss a thing and genuinely goes above and beyond to make everyone happy. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Bonge was a fantastic and accommodating cook who always made sure I had enough delicious vegetarian food to eat. Wilfred organised everything brilliantly. He helped me plan the trip, gave us recommendations for our onward travel and even managed to source a last-minute SD card for me when I needed one. A huge thank you to Nuru, Bonge, Wilfred and all the staff for making this such an unforgettable experience. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for an incredible safari!

Great option for solo traveler on a budget to join an open-group safari. Wilfred from Meru Slopes helped with designing my itinerary, communicated well, and coordinated pick-up and drop-offs efficiently. The safari guide Stanley did an excellent job with finding the best spots for wildlife viewing and was very knowledgeable! Camping was a great and adventurous experience as well.
These have been unforgettable days. The organization was impeccable. I want to personally thank Kelvin and Joseph for their magnificent management, and of course, William Godlisten, the driver, who was always attentive, tracking animals and taking us to see the Big Five. With infinite patience, he made our five days unforgettable. Highly recommended.
> Our 6-day safari organized by Shandrak and the Meru Slopes team was a 10/10 experience! > Our guide, Ezequiel, was amazing. He brought the 6 of us together—even though we were strangers at first—and created a super fun group dynamic. His skill at positioning the jeep gave us unbeatable views of the wildlife: a leopard moving right next to us, 3 cheetahs, 7 rhinos up close in Ngorongoro, and a lioness hunting a buffalo in the distance. He also took us to the Mara River, where we caught the wildebeest river crossing after 3 attempts! > Our chef, Salimu, was equally fantastic. Always smiling, friendly, and super attentive, he prepared delicious meals, had our tables ready on time, and cooked our favorite rice and beans whenever we asked. > We had 6 incredible days with Ezequiel and Salimu. Highly recommend booking with Meru Slopes! 🇹🇿✨ >
Our safari experience was absolutely unforgettable from start to finish. We visited Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara, and every single day exceeded our expectations. The highlight of the trip was definitely our guide, Samuel. He was incredibly knowledgeable, passionate, and always made sure we had the best possible experience. Thanks to him, we were able to spot so many amazing animals, learn about their behaviour, and understand much more about Tanzania’s wildlife and culture. His ability to find wildlife was truly impressive, and he always shared fascinating facts that made every game drive even more special. The entire safari was perfectly organised, the landscapes were breathtaking, and seeing the Big Five in their natural habitat was a dream come true. A huge thank you to Samuel for making this adventure so memorable. If you’re planning a safari in Tanzania, I couldn’t recommend this experience more. It truly was the trip of a lifetime!
We did the 6-day group camping safari through the four iconic national parks: Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire, and Lake Manyara, and it was truly an unforgettable experience, coordinated by Jerome. Our guide, Samuel, was outstanding… professional, knowledgeable, incredibly efficient, and by the end of the trip, he had become our Tanzanian best friend! He made every game drive enjoyable and always went the extra mile to make sure we had the best possible experience. The safari vehicle was spacious and comfortable, the campsites were fantastic and set in incredible locations right in the heart of the parks, and Meru Slopes took care of absolutely everything. From airport pick-up and accommodation before and after the safari to providing a local SIM card, every little detail was perfectly organized. Communication was excellent from start to finish, the price was very competitive, and the level of service exceeded all our expectations. I wouldn’t hesitate to do it again with Meru Slopes, in fact, I’d choose them a hundred times over. Thank you so much for making this trip so special! Highly recommended.
The best safari I could have hoped for. Saw all animals including Big 5. Samuel was my guide and was 10/10 with knowledge and making the experience special. Everything was meticulously planned, camping was seemless. Our chef salim made 3 delicious meals everyday and we were always so well fed and hydrated. Beers and soft drinks were always topped up in the fridge. Both Sam and Salim made sure we were comfortable and happy every minute.
The most amazing experience with the best staff. From booking with Kelvin to our amazing guide Innocent and cook Dulla we had the best time and were very well looked after. We saw all of the big 5 and we couldn’t thank Innocent more. Dulla made the best food, even our fussy members had clean plates. Only thing I would say is watch your stuff at the campsites as we had some money taken. Overall, we had the best time thank you Meru!
My wife and I booked with Meru Slopes for the 6 day safari. Gift Tembo coordinated our booking, he was prompt with text messages and available for phone calls at all times. He also coordinated free accommodation and food for us the night before and after our safari which was incredibly helpful, as well as transportation to and from the airport. Our guide Godfrey was great, he got us all big 5 as well as ugly 5, plus many more animals. Very knowledgeable guide as well. Our chef Salim always prepared good meals on time and provided us plenty of food with every meal. We would happily work with this company again. Well worth the price
I and my mum had an amazing 6-day safari with Meru Slopes Tours & Safaris. Everything was very well organized from start to finish. The itinerary was excellent, the communication was smooth, and the overall service quality exceeded our expectations. The highlight of our trip was definitely our driver-guide👍👍👍Rashid👍👍👍He worked incredibly hard every day, leaving early and returning late to make sure we had the best possible experience. He was patient, professional, and truly passionate about wildlife. He took his job very seriously and put in so much effort to find animals for us. Thanks to Rashid, we saw everything we hoped to see and created memories that will last a lifetime. It was clear that he genuinely cared about giving his guests an unforgettable safari experience.
My friend and I had an incredible experience with Meru Slopes Tours & Safaris. A huge thank you to Leonard Mkwavi, our manager, who was always very responsive and organized everything perfectly. Our driver-guide, Samwel Musangi, was absolutely brilliant. He was always there doing his absolute best for everyone, showing incredible kindness and a wonderful, positive attitude every single day. During the trip, some tensions arose with two other clients in our group (composed of my friend and I, and another couple). However, this was absolutely not the company's fault, and the team managed the situation as best as they could. Our chef, Dwula, treated us to absolutely delicious meals throughout the entire journey! We also want to mention Manuel, who drove us multiple times for shorter trips and took us on great excursions to Chemka Hot Springs and the Materuni Waterfalls. He was incredibly kind. Thank you all for these unforgettable memories. 5 stars well deserved, we highly recommend them!
Our safari with Meru Slopes Tours & Safaris in Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro was an excellent experience overall and we would surely come back. The driver Max and the Chef Dulha made the memories unforgettable! The tour was arranged by Leonard, who was very helpful and responsive throughout the planning. Communication was generally very good, although there was an error in the itinerary: we were booked for two nights in the public Seronera campsite in the Serengeti instead of one night in the camp and one night in a lodge as planned, which was $340 cheaper than what we had paid. Max at the phone helped us to sort it out. It’s also worth noting that Lake Manyara, which was part of the original plan, was closed due to flooding. In addition, this park may not be the best destination in this season, and it could have been suggested to spend an extra day in the Serengeti instead without basically losing one full day. Regarding accommodation, the stay in the Serengeti public Seronera campsite was, in this season, at the limit in terms of hygiene. This could have been explained more clearly before booking to allow a fully informed decision. All other accommodations during the trip were very good. The safari itself was very well organized, and each park offered something unique — from the elephant herds and baobabs of Tarangire, to the vast wildlife of the Serengeti, and finally the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater. It was really once in a lifetime experience!!! A big thank you to our guide Max, a very kind and professional person, always helpful and amazing at spotting animals. He made every game drive special. Thanks to his dedication, we even woke up very early to reach the Ngorongoro Crater at sunrise — we were among the first to enter, which allowed us to enjoy a spectacular sunrise and spot even more animals. Also, compliments to chef Dulha, whose food was consistently delicious and far beyond expectations for a safari. Overall, a fantastic experience with a great team that we would definitely recommend.
This safari was the most amazing and unforgettable experience! We went during the off season/rainy season (March) and were not sure what to expect as most people online recommend going during later months and as this was our very first safari and first time in Africa as female travelers. This safari went above and beyond anything I could have hoped for. The guide, Samuel, has been a guide for 16 years and knows these parks like the back of his hand. We saw every animal imaginable including lions, leopards, cheetahs, rhinos, millions of elephants zebras giraffes etc. He made us feel so welcome and truly loved wildlife and nature. We felt extremely safe at all times as we trusted Samuel’s expertise with the terrain and wildlife. His number one priority was making sure our safari experience was the best it could be. The chef, Yohanni, was also so amazing! The foods he cooked ranged from traditional Tanzanian food to pizza fries pancakes etc. He even taught us how to cook ugali. He was so kind and funny, and is now a friend for life! Overall this safari experience was a 100000000/10 and I couldn’t recommend it more enough to future safari goers. The people, the company, the nature, the wildlife made this the best trip I have ever had!
Samwel and Bange really made the experience. I was lucky to have been placed with them. Samwel took the time to explain stuff that we were looking at. If it was a bird, a tree, or a little stream, he was knowledgeable and very informative. We got new passengers from another safari company and the new passengers were amazed about how Samwel would stop and actually teach us things. Not something everyone does! Bange was the chef with us, he was very very kind, and always on time. He was very easy to engage conversation with and he always had a smile on his face. His food always came out top notch. Same with the new passengers, they mentioned that Bange’s food was much much better than what they had from their company previously. I dealt a lot with Kelvin. Whether it was the hotel pickup, drop off, food, recommendations or anything really he was always super fast to respond, no matter what time of night or day. He made the administration part of this easy. The hotel was decent, nothing at all to complain about. WiFi has been a little tough but survivable. Seems like a good location close to things and polite staff.
Our guide Douglas is so kindly and always find animals first。The hotel is wonderful and special 。
It was the most beautiful experience in my life and i travel a lot. This is a million dollar experience. Our guide Julius was the best guide anyone could ever wish for with almost 20years of experience and knowledge and a love for the animals you can be sure he will make the best out of any game ride. The food was also more then enough although the facility’s provided to the cooks leaves something to be desired in terms of hygiene but the cook made the best of it and we didn't do it for the food but for the nature. The camping experience was amazing to sleep between these wild animals is a humbling and inspiring experience that i will never ever forget. If i could give it a 100 more stars i would. Perfect for a first time safari experience because you visit different parks. Next time i will do a 7day Serengeti ride and hope i can get the same guide.
Patrick was our driver-guide and Guideon was our cook! Bothe were excellent! We had booked a budget trip, but the only budget was the accommodation. If you want to go on a memorable safari and do not mind simple accommodation, I really recommend the budget-safari of Meru Slopes!
I had a great experience at Meru Slopes Safari. Patrick was excellent — very professional, knowledgeable, and always helpful, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The food was outstanding; the chef, Gideon, did an amazing job. Every meal was delicious, well prepared, and of very high quality. Overall, a fantastic experience that I would highly recommend.
We did a 6-day safari tour with this company and it was truly amazing. Our tour guide Joel did everything to make this an unforgettable trip and went out of his way to get us the best wildlife views and sharing his incredible knowledge. We were lucky to see all the big five and even the migration of wildebeast in Northern Serengeti. From day one Joel created a great vibe within our group with his positive attitude and laughter. Our chef Bunge did an excellent job cooking 3 delicious meals a day for us. My partner had her birthday during the trip and Bunge went out of his way to bake her a cake and organised a little celebration ceremony marking this a memorable experience. Meru Slopes is a very well organised organisation. Just be advised that slight changes can occur to your agreed itinerary. Due to another group cancelling, our first activity was rescheduled to the end of our tour where we joined a different group for a day. Just know that this is quite common and that Meru Slopes has everything arranged for you in detail. They communicate well with their guides, drivers and chefs to make sure everything works out fine. Our guide Rashid had been a great guide during our Tarangire day trip, also very knowledgeable and experienced. We truly recommend this organisation and would choose Meru Slopes again without a single doubt!
Me and my partner had an incredible time on our tour, the chef Adoola and food was 10/10 with great hot breakfast, lunch and dinner. The 2 other girls in our group were lovely and was lucky to only have a group of 4 altogether so didn’t feel crowded atall. our tour guide Lobulu was so knowledgeable and made huge efforts to try get us to see all the animals. We felt very safe in his hands on the road and around the animals. So many great perks for the price such as free airport transfers, free village tour, they even let us check in at 3am and stay an extra night for free. The communication from Kelvin was amazing and everything was just so smooth and enjoyable. I will attach some photos of our 10/10 experience but I mostly took videos of the animals which you can’t upload so my photos are limited. Massively recommend meru slopes and honestly believe this is the best one for the price! Other tours that were more expensive didn’t have perks we had such as the good hot food we had at lunches while others ate sandwhiches. All the other tours eat in the same place, drive and see the same things.
Brilliant tour, we joined the group 6 day budget camping safari. We were lucky to have 4 people in our car, which meant that we had plenty of space to move around and view the wildlife, plus the chef (Adula) and guide (Labulu) who were both incredible and I would highly recommend! The Meru slopes team were enthusiastic and ensured that we saw every animal as best as possible. The tour was great value for money, accommodation was comfortable, airport transfer was smooth, and overall wildlife viewing exceeded my expectations! The food, beer/wine, and soft drinks/water included was also a nice perk - I Would definitely recommend Meru slopes. * I’ve uploaded photos, some are screenshots as I mainly took videos!
Have been on a fantastic shared budget safari with Meru Slopes. Visited Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara. The whole experience was even better than promised. The campsites were much fresher than expected and having your own chef who served good hot food three times a day was very unexpected and appreciated. We also had a lot of nice animal encounters and were well looked after throughout the trip. The fact that transfers from and to the airport and hotels with half board were included the day before and after the safari was also a big plus. Can definitely recommend Meru slopes to those of you looking for a very affordable safari!
Our lifetime experience!! Our incredible guide Rashid made it so special together with our Baba Delicious/Salim amazing chef. Everything was perfectly organised and we have always felt so comfortable and looked after. Kelvin made such a great job planning the whole safari tour that we will definitely never forget. Thank you guys!! Hakuna matata 🦒🦛🐘🐆🦓
We did this safari as a group of 5 friends and had the most incredible experience! Words cannot describe how amazed and thankful we were, especially for our guide Patrick - he was incredible! Patrick was extremely kind and friendly, he ensured we were always comfortable and happy and also was so so patient whilst we battered him with questions! His knowledge is astounding, he answered everything we threw at him and was very informative and insightful. He made our trip!! We were lucky enough to see almost every animal you could think of, and most of them within the first two days! We never could have imagined how insanely amazing this trip could be - even the camping where you could hear the wildlife around you was an experience. Amenities at the campsites were very basic, but to be expected. We also stayed at a lodge which was so lovely, and the rooms were more than adequate. The night before & after the tour we stayed at Arusha tourist inn and the staff were very friendly and welcoming, it made for a stress free experience start to finish! Shout out to our chef Bonge as well - every meal he made was delicious, we were always full & amazed with what he could come up with, especially whilst camping! He was also so kind and friendly and even made a birthday cake for one of our friends which was very generous! Meru Slopes was an exceptional company, Gift was very helpful and responsive as well! I would 100% recommend them and personally would book with them again in a heartbeat. Thank you again so much to everyone at Meru Slopes, especially Patrick!
Meru Slopes was such an incredible company to do our African Safari with, they were super easy to communicate with and everything went so smoothly. Our Safari guide Patrick was so friendly and had a wealth of knowledge about the animals. Patrick was so patient with us and was so great at helping us see everything that we hoped for! Our chef Bonge was also amazing and the food on the tour exceeded expectations! I am so grateful for this experience! Thank you
I cannot recommend Meru Slopes highly enough! Our guide, Patrick was incredible. He had a wealth of knowledge, was very patient and I felt completely safe with him. We experienced the most incredible wildlife encounters that exceeded our expectations. Our chef Bonge prepared delicious meals daily and was kind with a great sense of humour! He even made a cake when it was one of our birthdays. I will be recommending Meru Slopes and Patrick to my friends and family.
I did the budget camping 6-day safari with my partner, and we had an excellent experience. The itinerary is very well organized, and you don’t have to worry about a thing – transfers and hotel accommodation for the night before and/or after the tour are included and arranged. Our guide, Samueli, went above and beyond to make sure the group was happy. By day 3, we had already seen the majority of the most impressive animals up close, allowing us to enjoy a more relaxed safari. Samueli even took us to witness the Great Migration near the Kenyan border – something most guides don’t do. He was also respectful towards the animals, careful in his driving, and attentive to vehicle maintenance. We saw many cars broken down along the road, but ours was never one of them. A big shoutout to our cook, Rasheed, who prepared the most delicious meals even with limited resources. The hotel in Mto wa Mbu is excellent. The campsite in Ngorongoro is good and has decent facilities (be prepared for a cold night), but the campsite in the Serengeti might be a consideration for some travelers – facilities are very basic, there was no hot water for showers, and it’s not uncommon to hear about animals wandering close to the tents. Keep that in mind when choosing your package. We highly recommend Meru Slopes and the duo Samueli and Rasheed!
We had 6 days tour with Meru slope , it was an excellent experience! To begin with, thanks to our coordinator Jerome, he is very helpful, reply the messages quickly & efficiently , Especially when our arrival was delayed, he made sure we were picked up from bus station and had the smooth tour. Our guide Andrew is a very experienced guide, he is very knowledgeable on wild life, birds even plantations. He knows where to find the right animals, always position us at good angles to take pictures, and he is very responsible for each of his clients. Last but not the least, a big shout to our cook Buga, he cooks delicious meals with different menus every day. I highly recommend this company for Safari.
Jushua our guide was great Mohommad our guid in Tanzania was great as well They both explained each days activity and showed us all the animals Got many great one of a kind pictures of lions cheetahs leopards and much more
Everything was amazing and we had the best experience we could ask for. Everything was planned into the detail! Our guide Robert was amazing! He made a huge effort every day so we could see all the animals. His experience and knowledge were very valuable, because he was able to choose and put us always in the best spots. He quickly adapted to our group and knows a lot about all the animals and where to find them. He also drove to more far away and remote places so we could see the animals in their habitats without other jeeps nearby, which gave us a very special experience. Gideon cooked the best food, tasted like grandma’s food, it felt like we were home, and he was always kind, happy and energetic! We were very spoiled by him! We already miss them both! If you can choose your guide and cook, ask for them and you will not regret. Every other guide, cook and driver that we met were also very kind and helpful. They always put the best word about Meru Slopes, it was nice to hear that they also like working with you! We will for sure be back! And when we do, it will be with Meru Slopes!
Had na absolutely amazing time with Meru. We took 6 days safari option and it was 10/10 from the beginning to the end. Many thanks to Gift, who organised everything for us and been there for every request we had. Huge thanks to the best driver Jacob, who always made an extra step and drove us to the best places to see the animals. Extra points for beeing in a good mood all the time. Also the trip would be not completed with Yohana, who is the no.1 chef in the safari game and took care of bellies all the time
Our safari with Meru Slope truly exceeded all expectations! From start to finish, everything was thoughtfully organized, and the team made sure we enjoyed every moment. Our guide, Nuru, was amazing—super friendly, full of knowledge, and clearly loves what he does. We learned a ton about the animals and their behavior, and he really went the extra mile to make sure we saw as much wildlife and beautiful scenery as possible. We also had Gideon as our cook, and he was great. The food was fresh and tasty, even while camping in the middle of nature. Such a treat! We camped in public sites inside Ngorongoro and Serengeti, and it was awesome. The campsites felt safe, and waking up with nature all around us was unreal. We even saw lions and buffalos right from camp! One of the things that really stood out was the incredible customer service. Everyone we met was kind, welcoming, and made sure we were comfy and taken care of. Seriously the best service we've ever had. We also got to add some last-minute activities, and the team made it all happen without any stress. The night game drive in Lake Manyara was super exciting—we saw lions up close at night, which was unforgettable! And the hot air balloon ride over the Serengeti? Just wow. Watching the sunrise from above with animals everywhere below was pure magic. We had such a fun time and made memories we’ll never forget. If you’re thinking about doing a safari, we 100% recommend Meru Slope. And if you can, ask for Nuru and Gideon—they made our trip absolutely perfect!
It was an amazing safari. Way above our expectations! I went with a friend and we had an amazing time. We got Nuru as a guide and he made sure we saw as many animals as possible! He has a lot of knowledge and was able to answer all of our questions. They provide us with transportation before and after the safari and made sure we were always good. The cook Guideon was amazing and we are very well for the whole safari. We were able to see all the big 5 and many more. He stoped whenever we wanted to take as many pictures as we wanted. I would recommand 100% specially with Nuru as a guide.
We have just returned from a 6 day safari with Meru slopes, we went with the company due to their good reviews and it did not disappoint , from booking to the safari itself the experience and service was excellent. Our guide was very knowledgable and addressed any concerns immediately- we were able to see everything apart from a leopard (not without the guide trying, nobody else saw one either) including lions hunting , our chef was amazing and the food was great. The alcohol included was also a great touch as many other budget safaris didn’t have this. Overall myself and my mate would 100% recommend this company if you are looking for a good safari.
An absolute five star experience with Meru Slopes! We chose a 6 days Safari, we spent two nights in Fanaka Lodge and 3 nights camping. We visited Tarangire, Serengueti, Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara. Jerome was our travel consultant, contact with him was very easy and replied kindly and quickly to all of my questions (that were many!). It was definitely one of the things that made me choose Meru Slopes. Everything went just as expected and explained in the brochure. They picked us up from the airport (with a nice car with courtesy coca cola and water) and took us to the hotel, which is fine for the night previous and after the safari. It has AC and a diner with meal included. They saved our big luggage during the safari. The safari van was great, a Toyota Land Cruiser in perfect condition, with a cooler to keep water, coca cola and beer in the perfect temp. We could also charge our phones, camera and torches just fine, and we had wifi all the way! Our guide was Florian, he was excellent! Very well experienced, he knew where it was most likely to find the animals. He got us to see lions hunting, three times!! He was a very skilled driver, the roads are not in great condition and since we went in rainy season it got pretty muddy, but that was not a problem! He also gave us explanations about animals, their behavior and about flora too! Food was another highlight in this trip, while other companies get plain lunch boxes, our chef Dulla spoiled us with home made food! Every afternoon he made fresh bread for dinner, he also gave us some popcorn to accompany the sunset until it was dinner time. We were supplied with bottled water, got every amount we wanted and also coca cola and beers. The camping experience was amazing, going to sleep hearing the animals around is something very unique and one of a kind experience! We heard how wild animals fed just next to our tent, so if you are adventurous, I recommend to camp! But there are options with lodges too if you are not up to it. If you are going in rainy season like us, rain is expected. We had two nights with heavy rains, while we saw how other companies got soaked, our tents allowed us to stay perfectly dry! Everything worked fine. And at simba camp there was even hot water to shower. We saw the big five! It depends on luck mostly and a bit of patience too, leopards are hard to spot, we only got see one once. We also saw many other animals like hippos, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, elephants, tortoises, monkeys, lots of birds, and different kind of antelopes (and learn to recognize them!) Big highlight was the big migration! Weren’t expecting to seeing it because of the season but we got lucky! I highly recommend to hire Meru Slopes. It is a local company, I think it is important to support local business. And also, for what I have seen, they provide the best price - quality relation. Hopefully will have the chance to come back! Thanks for everything!
Had a most amazing time on this tour, with a very incredible guide. The experience was incredible, with some of the most magical moments and encounters with wildlife (and really, they were wild, not ANYTHING like a zoo) that i have ever had. The company was very organised, helpful, and timely, and our guide was the best we had over the several tours we did during our trip to Tanzania. Meru Slopes really stood out for me, and the safari experience is not one that I will every forget.
We had an amazing time during our safari! Due to Mohamed we were able to find many animals throughout the park, even a leopard, cheetas and rhinos. He was very kind to always stop or drive back and forth when we wanted to take pictures. Also the food during the tour was great! We both have allergies (celiac disease and milk allergy) and our chef Rashid was happy to provide alternatives for us so we could enjoy the typical African food without worry. We had a great time and would definitely recommend joining this Safari.
We have just come back from a fabulous 6 day lodge and tent safari to Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serenegti and Ngrongoro Crater with Florian as our driver and Saleem as our cook. We were amazed at Florian's ability to always find all the animals and bird life we were looking for and for his knowledge and driving expertise. We got to see all of the big five including a leopard up a tree eating its latest kill and thoroughly enjoyed Saleem's meals. Thanks to Jerome at Merus Slopes who handled our enquiries and tailored the trip for us. Highly recommend Meru Slopes to others seeking the same experience
We cannot thank enough Gift for being so nice with us all the time, always accomodating our extra requests. When we've arrived to Dar Es Salaam our luggage was lost and we had our safari booked for the day after. Meru Slope helped us in buying last minute the most important items we were missing and off we went. We had a time of our lives, our driver and guide Robert was super as we have seen so many beatiful animals (all the big 5 and we completed the 9 and ugly 5 too) Everything was way behind our expectations , nothing was feeling budget. The food was always delicious too and our chef Gideon even managed in improvizing a birthday party for me on the first night ! Last but not least they even helped us in contacting the lost&found office, and finally retrieved our luggage and took us to Arusha Airport to collect it. Definitely we highly recommend Meru Slope for your experience in Tanzania.
The most amazing safari tour. We saw them all, the big five, the beautiful five, the ugly five and so much more. We were on the six days small group trip covering Tarangiri, Serengeti, Ngorongoro crater and lake Manyara. Serengeti and Ngorongoro being the highlights. We stayed to nights in lodge and tre nights camping which was perfect to get the real Safari feeling. The biggest asanta sana to our guide Lobulu and our chef Dulla who made sure bothe the game drives and everything else was perfect. I can highly recommend Maru Slopes as tour operator.
What an amazing experience safari in Tanzania with Meru Slopes. We did 6 days safari to Tarengire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara National park. From arrival at the airport to getting back to the airport. Meru Slopes organised it all very well. From arriving to departing, everything without problem and worry for us. The 6 days itself were perfect. Nice car with all the amenities they say it has. Comfy seats and great views. We went in the Low season (november) and got the "luck" that we did the safari with just 3 people. Our driver Nuru was kind, helpfull and very knowledgeable about the animals and knew a lot of spots where to find them. Which result in seeing a lot of animals in the game drives we had. And to see the big 5. He wanted to give us the best possible experience. Has Nuru would say "Hakuna Matata, we have time and chance to see the animals. During this trip we also had a chef travelling with us (they told us this only happens on a Budget safari so think this is a very big plus having every meal fresh food) We had the honour to have chef Mushi he had to deal with a gluten and Lactose intolerance but did this perfectly. The food was delicious and every meal something else or different but so that we could eat together. It felt great not to have to worry and he made us fully enjoy. Nickson was also with us to finish soon his Training and doing his own safaries. All 3 people from Meru Slopes did everything in their power to make us happy and satisfied. So 1000% we will recommend Meru Slopes to friends and Family and hopefully in the future will have the pleasure to come back. An unforgetable experience for the rest of our life.
Beautiful trip with cheeta's, leopards and rhino's! The crew did their very best to give us the best experience possible. Big thabks to our guide Robert, our chef Gideon and our contact person Jerome!
Amazing experience! transfer to and from the airport with the very funny Fidelis. The six-day safari with the chef Gadi and the guide Nuru, who is a very skilled and very knowledgeable guide, as well as being a beautiful person! Meru slopes highly recommended, lower prices than average but very high level services for an unforgettable experience! (especially if you are lucky enough to have Nuru and Gadi). I will recommend it to everyone who wants to go on a safari in Tanzania.
My father and I joined the 6 day budget group safari with Meru Slopes Tours in October. It included visits to Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. We slept 3 nights in a hotel/lodge and 3 nights in a tent. The trip with Meru Slopes was extremely well organized. We saw everything we hoped to see, the program was compact but we never felt rushed. Our guide/driver Nuru was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. He went above and beyond to make sure we saw all the Big Five as well as the great migration in the Serengeti. Our cook Gadi kept us well fed throughout the 6 days with hot meals three times a day (except for one lunch when we had a lunch box). All meals were very tasty - mostly local Tanzanian cuisine (my dad especially liked the soups and cooked vegetables). Both the Fanaka Lodge and the Arusha Tourist Inn were simple but comfortable accommodations. Sleeping in tents in Serengeti and Ngorongoro was also comfortable. I personally enjoyed it more than staying in a fenced luxury lodge. We saw elephants and zebras roaming around the campsite. Overall the tour exceeded my expectations and I would recommend Meru Slopes Tours to anyone who has game viewing as a priority. Plus, it's a local business.
This organisation deserves all stars! Our guide/driver Mohamed (Moody for friends) was so well-connected that we were always informed about where the action was taking place. We’ve been so lucky to see the big 5, including lions hunting a buffalo etc. The chef (Rashidi) was preparing nice meals across the days taking into account dietary restrictions. Communication with Gift before the trip was easy, straightforward and transparant. The trip itself was beyond great.
We enjoyed our safari very much, we saw all the animals, all the big 5 (and all the ugly 5!), and were so lucky to see four rhinos in the Ngorongoro crater!! We also appreciated the efficient organisation Unfortunately, the safari in lake Manyara was limited in scope because of the flood (game drive in the morning only) but we could see plenty of animals and also saw many elephants at very close proximity. Also, the substitution cultural tour in Mto Wa Mbu was ok (although we didn't appreciated the selling visits at the shops). Our chef Boga was amazing, cooking for us delicious meals all 6 days, and so were the driver Viktor and Fidelis, who picked us up from the airport and back, they were very kind, cheerful and friendly. We were only a bit disappointed with our guide, Salehe, who was not much talkative, and at times we found he wouldn't put much effort, we would have liked more explanations and involvement. But overall we are very satisfied 😁
Meru Slopes Tours exceeded our expectations, I can recommend this company with a calm heart! I guess, like everybody else, we were slightly sceptic and worried, but from the very beginning until the very end we felt in good hands. The communication with Almachius was excellent - he is very responsive, quick to react, adapt and adjust the program according to our individual needs. Not to forget his extreme patience answering all our questions and positivity! 😊 Amazing service! 🙌 Our greeting in the airport in the middle of the night was very smooth, we were safely accompanied to the hotel door and overall every second it felt structured and well organized throughout the whole trip. They have a lot of experience! Lobulu was the best driver for our private tour with so many individual requests, we managed to spot even rear animals - he was very proffesional, attentive and with an excellent mood! Hakuna matata! 😁 Sleeping arrangements in budget camping were very well organized, sleeping bags clean and matresses were surprisingly comfy! Be prepared for colder night in Simba camping (near Ngorongoro), it's in the higher altitude, bring warm clothes. Don't expect hot shower in the budget camping option and you'll be fine! ☺️ Our chef is worth separate mention - the food during the Safari was better than in two different restaurants that we've tried in Arusha! It's simple, freshly made, tasty, creative! No stomach problems, only happy bellies 😊 Only best experience and memories with Meru Slopes Tours! Good luck, guys! 😊 Lietuviškai🇱🇹: mielieji tautiečiai, ramia širdim rekomenduoju šiuos vietinius Safari turo organizatorius, jeigu kyla papildomų klausimų ar nerimo, susisiekite per Instagram: ugneu.
Wonderful Safari Experience - Highly Recommended! We had an incredible experience with Meru Slops! The entire safari was well-organized, with simple but comfortable and always clean accommodations. Our guide, Robert, was excellent—his knowledge and expertise made every moment special as he skillfully led us through the safari. A special thanks to Almachius, who was always available and made the booking process smooth and easy, ensuring everything went perfectly. Also, a big shout-out to Gadi, our chef, who did an amazing job preparing delicious meals throughout the trip. I highly recommend Meru Slopes for anyone looking for a memorable safari adventure! Rodolfo
Fantastic safari adventure! We did a 7 day camping safari with Meru Slopes and had an incredible time. So nice to be so looked after from airport transfers to all meals provided and comfortable accommodation, everything was great! Our guide Douglas made sure we got up close to wildlife and was a very experienced guide. Our Chef Yohani cooked so much delicious food and made sure all dietary requirements were catered for. The camping was a very special experience and we were so lucky to have a great group. We had such a fun time, thankyou!
It was the first time we did safari and we both enjoyed it to the fullest, it was an experience we will never forget!! We did the 7 day Safari tour including Lake Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Tarangire National Park. A lovely couple from Spain and Croatia joined us, so we were 4 people inside one car for the first day. Later an American Girl joined us aswell and we had the funniest time all together. We could be so close to the wildlife, seeing a big variety of the animals (including Leopards, cheetahs, lots of elefants and giraffes, and many more!) We especially want to thank Lobulu our Guide for his extraordinary guiding, his expertise, his patience and of course for always showing us much more than we expected! He told us so many things about the animals, the culture of the Maasai, lots of information on the Nationalparks and about his experiences through the years. We couldn’t have imagined a better guide for this safari!! Also a big thanks to Rashid (our chef cook) for this whole time - he made sure we had the best food all the time! He even made sure I got a glutenfree menu every day!! That was a big relief for me as a celiac! So thank you so much again! The accommodations were different every day! As we booked a camping tour- we expected to sleep in a tent every day, so it was to our pleasure that we even slept in a Lodge Camping for two days in Fanake Camping, where we had an own bathroom and even AC. The other nights we slept in serengeti National Park inside a public campsite- well I would say this was the most adventurous experience I ever had. We slept in the middle of the wilderness between all the animals- you could hear all the noises of the animals at night- which was scary but also exciting. The bathrooms there were not that good to be honest, there was no light and no hot water- we basically showered with our head lamp. Still Lobulu our guide made sure we always felt safe! The next night we spent in Ngorongoro at a campsite at the rim, this was absolutely amazing! The campsite was really good, although it was public. We splent in between a big group of Zebras, watched the sunset- it was like in a Movie! But make sure you bring warm clothes because the nights can get really really cold!! All in all we would totally recommend going on Safari with Meru Slopes Tours, we would definitely come back any time!! So don‘t miss that experience Greats Daniel & Jana
