There is more to a safari than just seeing wildlife. Communication and organization are equally crucial. Starting the six-day trip with Suricata Safaris was made easier with the airport pickup and a private tour. Rather than merely pointing out his surroundings, Jeremy was willing to explain things and had knowledge that was helpful for the experience. As we traveled, I really enjoyed learning more about Tanzania. I left with a deeper comprehension of the nation's natural environment, and the entire experience was highly captivating.

Jeremy was great, and our safari with Suricata Safaris was the high point. His professionalism, patience, and knowledge of wildlife made our trip to the Serengeti even more enjoyable. I especially liked how he handled the occasional car problems. Instead of making the already tense situation worse, he concentrated on acting morally. The car was immaculate, the food was delicious, and the service was always top-notch. His instruction had a profound effect on me.
A trustworthy guide is crucial for safaris because they involve lengthy drives and unpredictable weather. During our trip to the Serengeti, Jeremy from Suricata Safaris was incredibly patient and professional. He was sensible about the car when it needed maintenance. The food's quality and the vehicle's cleanliness were also appealing to me. The wide open spaces and wildlife added to the trip's specialness, and the excellent service made everything more comfortable. I would travel with this team once more.
Choosing Suricata Safaris was one of the best decisions we made for our trip to Tanzania. From the very first stages of planning until the moment our safari ended, everything was extremely well organized and, most importantly, personalized around what we wanted to experience. A special thank you goes to Ayman , the Sales Manager. Before we even arrived in Tanzania, he was always available on WhatsApp and incredibly responsive, helping us with every question and detail — from planning the itinerary and arranging payment to providing all the information we needed for our arrival. His support continued throughout our stay and safari as well. What really stood out was how personalized the planning process was. We explained what we wanted to see, the kind of experience we were looking for and our priorities for the trip, and Ayman built the itinerary around our requests. We never felt like we were simply following a generic safari package. It genuinely felt like a trip designed specifically for us. Our guide and driver, Felix, made the experience even more memorable. Felix was with us from the first until the last day of our safari, and he was simply outstanding. His knowledge seemed endless — wildlife, animal behavior, plants, nature, local culture and everyday life in Tanzania. Whatever we asked, he had an answer and was always happy to explain more. Beyond his knowledge, he was an extremely careful and responsible driver. Some of the roads and driving conditions during a safari can be challenging, but we always felt completely safe with him. He drove carefully, remained calm and professional at all times and always had a smile on his face. He also genuinely cared about making sure we experienced everything we wanted. Whenever we asked for something or wanted to spend more time somewhere, he always did his best to make it happen while still keeping our itinerary on track. After spending so many hours together — not only during the game drives but also sharing some dinners, conversations and plenty of laughs — Felix became much more than simply our safari guide. His personality and company became an important part of the experience itself, and we are truly grateful to him for that. Another detail that says a lot about Suricata’s level of service happened on our final day. Because our flight departed very early in the morning, we had chosen not to book accommodation for that night and had planned to simply wait at the airport. Suricata instead arranged for us to stay at a hotel in Arusha for a few hours, giving us the opportunity to shower, freshen up and rest before heading to the airport. We had not expected this at all, and after several days of safari it made our journey home infinitely more comfortable. The accommodations and destinations selected throughout our itinerary were excellent, and the entire trip felt carefully planned from beginning to end. We also felt that the price was very fair considering the overall quality of the safari, the accommodations, the organization and the level of personal service we received. Our safari was exactly what we had hoped it would be — and in many ways even better. A huge thank you to Ayman for organizing everything so perfectly, to Felix for taking such wonderful care of us and sharing Tanzania with us, and to the entire Suricata Safaris team for an experience we will never forget. If we ever return to Tanzania for another safari, we know exactly who we will contact. Highly recommended!
An Unforgettable Safari Experience 🦁🐘❤️ We spent an incredible 5 days on safari with our amazing guide, Golden (Godi), and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better guide! Godi went out of his way every single day to make sure we had the best experience and got to see as many different animals as possible. He is extremely friendly, polite, knowledgeable, and truly knows his work. His passion and good sense of humour made the experience even more special. We did experience a few issues during our trip, but what really stood out to us was how the Suricata team handled everything. Stevin, the manager, personally helped us sort things out, and Jesca, who was involved in organising our trip, was also very helpful and supportive. Their efforts made a real difference, and thanks to them, we were able to finish our safari on a very positive note and enjoy our last day in the best way possible. A huge thank you to Godi for all the information, the jokes, the lunches, the dinners, and all the amazing memories. We will never forget you! If you are booking a safari with Suricata Safari, we highly recommend asking for Godi — you definitely won’t regret it! And thank you to the entire Suricata team for listening, helping, and making sure that despite the challenges, we ended our safari with a smile and some wonderful memories. ❤️ Until next time, Godi! Michelle & Danny 🌍🦁
We have had an excellent 5 day trip with our tour guide Steve, and Suricata. We got to experience the great migration of the wildebeest, and Steve guided us through the trip with lots of knowledge and guidance about the history and culture of the amazing Serengeti region. We highly recommend booking with Suricata, and allow Steve to guide your trip.
Our Safari experience with Suricata was a blast. From planning our private tour online with Richard, to arrival details with Twalbu, and last but not least... the incredible experience we had with our guide, Jordan. Always smiling, great mood, Jordan knows everything about his country from fauna, flora, geography, history... we learnt a lot (Swahili kidogo pia). Jordan also makes sure we have fun, learn, eat enough, and to slow down and stop for areas of interest, even when we were taking pictures of Zebras in front of a Rhinos, which surprised him ;) If all guides are alike at Suricata, I can only recommend. Tutaonana siku nyingine ! Ho hisse la saucisse !
We had a great safari experience. Our driver, Adam, was warm and friendly and a great companion for our six day trip. He was good at understanding what we wanted and great at answering questions about the wildlife. He also did a good of letting us know what to expect each day and for each park, which was great for us as first time safari-goers. Thanks for a great trip.
Our safari with Suricata far exceeded our expectations - we saw and experienced so much in such a short period of time. Felt like a tightly packed nature documentary. Our guide, Dashi, must have been clairvoyant because he always seemed to know exactly where the action was and was so confident from the beginning that we were going to see a lot. And we did! Additionally he was such a good natured, jovial, and well informed person to spend six days with. We truly enjoyed our first African adventure and can’t wait to return! If you choose Suricata for your safari dreams, do ask for Dashi!
Our safari exceeded our wildest dreams. We had been looking forward to a safari in Tanzania for years. Even so, our experience was more than we possibly could have imagined. We saw the Great Migration, a pride of lions stalk and chase a zebra, all the Big Five, and dozens of cute and beautiful birds and mammals. Our guide and driver, Dashi, was fantastic in every way. He was friendly, sweet, funny, informative, kind, a great driver, and knew exactly where and when to go in every park we visited. Dashi is truly a special person, and I doubt there are many other guides that could live up to the standard he has set. We have already told the rest of our family to book a Suricata safari - with Dashi! - soon!
The best experience ever! Rastaman was the BEST driver and guide you could wish for - making an already great experience even more memorable with his wealth of stories and information about the animals, trees, plants, migration, history, and more. We were so lucky and grateful to have him as our guide. We spent over 10 hours/day on the road and he never seemed to tire. I can't say enough good things about him! We saw every animal and bird imaginable - the big 5 and so much more. He stopped everywhere we asked, stayed as long as we wished, and answered every question with detail and pride. The lodges and camps were great. Clean and welcoming. All of the staff were wonderful and friendly. We couldn't have felt more welcome and cared for. Anything we asked for was accommodated with a smile. Also a big shout out to Daniel who helped us through everything in Arusha - a true joy and pleasure in every way!
We had a fantastic time. All staff were very nice. Shoutout to Daniel and manager Hilary. Also Lewis our tour guide was very informative and helped us to find the Big 5 and other animals. We were completely satisfied with this tour company and Accommodations. Although there were a few hiccups, Daniel and Hilary made sure to take care of all our needs.
It was a truly amazing and a beautiful 6 day safari in Tarangire, Manyara. Serengeti and Ngorongoro. Our guide Gorden was very nice and incredibly knowledgeable and able to take us to the best spots to observe the wildlife. We saw the big five, the ugly five and more. All accommodations in the parks were wonderful. This was absolutely a dream trip. Thanks Suricata!
My wife and I went on an incredible 6-day midrange private tour with Suricata Safari’s guide- Ameri. We saw so much African wildlife, ate delicious meals, and stayed at beautiful, comfortable, friendly lodges! 4hrs into our first day with Ameri, I told my wife I was thrilled that we picked Suricata as our Safari company. Without a doubt in my mind, they were the best safari company everywhere we went. I will be coming with Suricata Safaris in the future and hope to see Ameri again!
We really had an amazing time during our 6 days midrange safari in Tanzania with Suricata, which exceeded all our expectations. The communication and explanation before the safari was very clear and detailed, with the airport pick-up and the briefing. Thank you so much to our guide Freddy who has made our safari so special, with his passion of wildlife and nature, his great experience of the parks, his patience and his happiness. We've had so many interesting discussions, we felt comfortable at all times and we learned a lot. The accomodations inside the parks were amazing, with great hospitality from the staff of the camps, impressive organisation, and beautiful tents in the middle of the nature. The meals, whether at the camps or during the safari were of great quality and quantity. Thank you also to Chuke and Daniel for the briefings before and after the safari. We will never forget this amazing experience in Tanzania.
The overall experience was impecable, the company really takes care of every detail. We were picked up from the airport and taken to our accomodation where we were received by the company for a short briefing. The day after we were picked up by the Guide and headed off to the parks. Our guide Freddy, was incredibly knowledgeable, he answered all of our questions with great detail and patience. He is very passionate about wildlife and you can feel it in every aspect of the game drives. He was so caring about our well being and made sure we were happy and comfortable the whole trip, always with a smile in his face. We shared a lot of great moments and discussions with him, just a pleasure to be around. The accomodations we stayed in exceeded our expectations in every way, Tanzanian hospitality at its best. The rooms and tented lodges were beautiful and really comfortable, the service was impecable and the food was great in all the accomodations, as well as the lunches (warm meals) during the game drives. Thank you Suricata for making this trip unforgettable! Thanks to Choke and Daniel for your help, the briefings and feedback sessions. And of course thanks to Freddy for making every day of the trip so fun and interesting!! Hopefully see you very soon again!
The experience was amazing. The animals and the views we were able to look at were amazing. Our tour guide Fredy could answer all the Questions we had. He was the best Driver at all the parks we were at and really friendly and funny. If I come back to Tanzania, I would always choose Fredy and suricata safari.
The views were amazing. Our Tour guide Fredy knew all the good places and we saw a lot of animals. He was a very good driver and better then all the others in the park. He could answer all of our questions and knew a lot about all the animals and the parks.
Excellent service, everything was very good in general, we had a couple of observations that we made directly to the company but nothing that affected the trip or activities and we were able to see the migration
It’s difficult to find the words to describe the feelings, emotions, and our whole experience. Suricata Safari has choosen for us three unbelievable lodges to spent our six nights between Lake Manyara and Serengeti. Our driver Lewis was cautious, friendly, and always precise, explaining in details all the habits of the animals we encountered. He should be very popular among the other drivers, so to be informed about where and when to find the species we were looking for. We eventually meet all the “Big five”, even the leopard at Lake Manyara Reserve and rhino at Ngorongoro. An extraordinary journey, super suggested to all of you.
Everything was briefed and organized very nicely. Boma lodge was exceptional. The tour guide, Ezekiel, was very knowledgeable and kind. We saw many amazing experiences like a cheetah and lion hunt as well as the Wildebeest and Zebra migration!
We had an amazing 6 day private safari trip with Suricata Safaris. Couldn’t have asked for a more experienced and fun guide. We had Ezekiel who is able to spot animals from a mile away and went out of his way to make sure we saw plenty of wild life. We saw 31 lions, 8 cheetas, 3 rhinos, 1 leopard and many more. Food was delicious and plentiful. My favourite accomodation was the Suricata Bome Lodge. It was new and beautifully designed. Highly recommend going with Suricata Safaris!
Our choice: We did the lodge and tent option and my God did it deliver. Highly recommend doing the lodge if you are looking for something that allows you to be close to nature but a little bit of luxury. It is worth every euro/dollar we spent, all meals included and it was great value for money, if you are trying to decide between camping and lodging, my advice is this is the way to go. If however you are on a budget and are wondering about camping, we were at each of the campsites to collect other guests and the facilities were perfect. I would equally camp with them, if that’s your choice. Day 1 we stayed in Tulia Hotel which was fine (standard hotel) but with a decent restaurant. Day 2 and 3: The Suricata Boma Lodge is where you stay for two nights and it was GORGEOUS. The staff are exceptional, including Amos the manager. Day 4: Tent lodge - I actually loved this, the only thing I didn’t enjoy was the sound of the hippos who sounded as though they were coming to eat us. Overall added to the experience 😝 The accommodation was fabulous, as was the food (and the bar). Be warned you need cash if you do use the bar as they don’t accept card. Day 5: Tent lodge we stayed in was Rhino lodge and it was also incredible. Great atmosphere in the restaurant (and good wine!). Comfy room with a little fire and a hot water bottle if needed. Day 6: we opted to stay the extra night in Tulia before flying out. It was nice as it was familiar territory at that point. Tour guide: Our tour guide, Damian, impressed throughout. He was very knowledgable about the animals with a particular penchant for birds. I haven’t a clue but a fellow bird lover on the tour was clearly impressed. We saw the big five and even managed four on the first day. We also saw two of the big five at once which was very impressive. Damian also drives the terrain exceptionally well, which is no mean feat when there are parts flooded with no visibility on depth. We had some car issues which he handled very well and even had to drive without wipers at one point while raining, he navigated with ease and confidence. For anyone new to Africa and getting used to the driving style overall, it’s nice to feel safe with someone knowledgable behind the wheel. He also has great relationships with other guides and you can see this throughout his constant communication with them during the game drives. He gets information and acts very quickly and this allowed us, twice, to see things we would not have otherwise. Highly recommend Suricata, though I will say we were left at the airport waiting for our pick up as they forgot about us. It didn’t get to a great start but after that, it was seamless. Hidden Tip: Just be warned that you will be shipped into a shopping experience thing where they want you to buy but overall it is supporting local artists and designers and they did have some beautiful bits. Also the Masai village costs $15 and you need cash (in dollars or TZ Schillings). We did it and overall, though I have never felt more like a tourist, I would do it again. The chef: Salim, thank you once again for every incredible meal we had. I need a cookbook with your recipes! Overall: I would use Suricata hands down, there’s almost too many companies to choose from (2,600) and we worked off a recommendation and were glad we did.
Everything was so smooth and perfectly organized. Our guide Lewis was very kind and professional, we enjoyed his accompany. Food was also very delicious prepared by Salim. Game drives were so impressive, Lewis gave his best to catch moments. We would definetely recommend choosing Suricata.
We did so much research and contacted >10 safari companies and the Suricata quote was by far the best value We were comforted by all the positive reviews and their experience really shone through during our time with them - they are flexible and happy to add on elements to the trip at the guests request (we went to Olduvai Gorge museum and did a short hike to Olmoti crater) Overall, Suricata made the whole experience fantastic We would like to say a particular thanks to our absolutely wonderful wonderful guide Kevin, he was incredible. We were quite particular about what we hoped to get out of our 6 days (there were some particular birds we were excited about) and he made sure to tailor the experience so we could see as many as possible and also bought us a book to help us identify them. He was extremely attentive / thoughtful - he noticed I was bothered by the tsetse flys and brought a fan the next day so I could shoo them away; if we mentioned there were certain foods we wanted to try he spoke to the chef and they were on the menu the next day! I got the impression that our having a good time was his number one priority He was amazing and really helped to elevate our entire safari experience - thank you Kevin!
We did a private 6-day lodge safari with Suricata for our honeymoon, our guide was Vincent. We stayed at the Lake Manyara Lodge, Sereonora Serengeti Wildlife Lodge, and Ngorongoro Sereonora Lodge. Our experience was absolutely INCREDIBLE! First, our guide Vincent: He was so knowledgable, friendly, and kind. We were with him, and he made us feel absolutely welcome, comfortable, and safe everywhere we want. He answered countless questions, and always impressed us with the breadth of his knowledge. He went to school for wildlife (I forget the specific program / degree) but it definitely showed - he knows so much! He was absolutely INCREDIBLE at finding animals, with a gift for spotting them that constantly impressed us. The safari itself: Thanks to Vincent (and good luck!), we not only saw the big 5, but we even saw a successful cheetah hunt, with two cheetahs hunting down a gazelle. You are able to get so close to the animals, and Vincent does a great job of giving you as much time as you want in all of the different areas. Every day, the food given to us on the safari was absolutely delicious. I was expecting to just get something simple like sandwiches, but instead we had a full course spread with hot dishes of delicious stews, curries, and pastas. The company: Suricata is a smaller safari company (around 10 vehicles) and that makes a HUGE difference in quality of service. They are so attentive and take great care with every single customer, compared to the large safari companies that operate hundreds of vehicles. Everyone at Suricata was a delight to work with. From the moment we landed at the airport, they immediately met up with us, and we had someone guiding us throughout TZ from that moment on. The lodges: we were absolutely blown away by the lodges. I knew they would be nice, but they are absolutely gorgeous. The Ngorongoro lodge in particular is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever been to, with the most beautiful views I've seen at any hotel. Suricata does an amazing job of booking the best places to stay. Overall, the value for our experience was immense. We can not thank Suricata, Vincent, Ali, and Hilary enough. I am SO so glad that we booked with Suricata. Thank you again, Vincent! Asante sana! - Brad & Rachel
We haven’t even arrived yet and already the time and effort that has been put into responding to my requests has been fabulous. We really can’t wait for our actual safari to begin in July. Don’t hesitate to book with Suricata - Hilary has been excellent!
This was an easy 5-star rating and I hope we can return with Suricata Safaris sometime soon. We originally booked a 6-day safari in fall of 2019, for April of 2020. We identified 6-7 safari companies with high ratings on TripAdvisor, and I emailed each asking for itinerary suggestions for a family of 7, staying at comfortable lodges. Each suggested itinerary was pretty similar, so we put together a single itinerary and emailed again asking for prices. Most of the companies were quick to respond, but we choose Suricata based on the price and helpful email interactions with Hilary. With about a week to go, COVID delayed our trip until April 2022. Hilary was extremely helpful and rolled forward our deposit, allowing us to make a couple changes to the itinerary based on our updated preferences and flight times. When we arrived at the airport, our guide Ezekiel met us outside security with a sign. We boarded our vehicle, which seats the guide plus seven others, so it was perfect for us and our three suitcases. In Arusha, we had a quick breakfast with Hilary, where he suggested a couple tweaks to the schedule. Because the migration hadn’t yet reached Ndutu as it usually would have, he suggested we cancel the night in that area and add a third night in central Serengeti. It was a slight lodge upgrade and better chance to see animals at no additional cost, so we agreed. We also switched our first day from Manyara to Tarangire, based on recent reports of wildlife viewing. Both turned out to be great decisions. We spent our first day in Tarangire, seeing many elephants and other wildlife. It was a great introduction on our way to the Serengeti National Park. We stayed the first night at the Retreat at Ngorongoro, where we slept in three very comfortable rooms—each a separate hut. The room was clean, our king-size bed was very comfortable, the water pressure was strong, plenty of hot water, good wifi, etc. We spent the next three days touring the Serengeti. We were lucky to have great weather every day even though it was the rainy season. Ezekiel was excellent. He provided information about the land, plant life, and especially animals. He has a lot of experience as a guide and has a great sense for where to find different types of wildlife. We were able to see everything we were looking for—probably over 50 lions, 3 cheetahs, 2 leopards, 4 rhinos, and countless wildebeest, zebras, giraffes, buffalos, antelope, hippos, etc. We were up close to see lions and leopards in trees, lions guarding a wildebeest they had killed and partially eaten (twice), and a fight between vultures and jackals over a carcass. Many of the animals, including lions, leopards, elephants, wildebeest, hyenas, baboons, and zebras, walked right past the vehicle, only a couple feet away. We stayed at the Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge in the Serengeti, and it was everyone’s favorite lodge. The three rooms inside were large and very comfortable. King-size bed (or separate beds for the kids), desk, comfortable chairs, outside deck overlooking the Serengeti, filtered water, good wifi, modern toilet, two sinks. The private, outdoor shower overlooking the valley was amazing. It got a little cool at night, but the strong stream of hot water from the rainfall shower was plenty warm. It was cool stargazing from the shower at night or watching buffalo and other wildlife in the day. The only thing that made the room “tented” was the canvas exterior and screen windows. Falling asleep to sounds of hyenas and jackals was truly memorable. Plus, the food and service were excellent, including the Maasai men who escorted us to and from our tents in the dark. We spent the next day in the Ngorongoro Crater, followed by a night at the Serena Safari Lodge. The crater was amazing, and the best thing about the lodge was the view from our room. The lodge was a little more touristy than the others, with nightly performances and gift shops, but we enjoyed our two nights there. The next day we drove about 3 hours to Empakaai Crater, where we hiked down with a ranger for protection. We saw lots of leopard footprints, but only antelope, baboons, and flamingos in the crater. The hike back up was not too long, but steep especially on a hot and humid day. We’re glad we did the hike, because it was a nice change of pace from sitting in the vehicle each day. But if we had to drop one day from the trip, this would be it. The drive was just a little too long on bumpy, rain-damaged dirt roads. Though it was nice seeing the scenery and Maasai villages along the way. A little more about our guide. Like I said, Ezekiel was full of helpful information and was adept at finding animals, sometimes in hard-to-spot, out-of-the-way places. He has a good eye for photography, sometimes repositioning the vehicle to get better lighting. Lunch each day was packed by our lodges, and he set it out as we stopped to eat in the parks. Early in the week, conversations usually centered around our questions about the country, people, and wildlife. By the end of the week, we talked more like friends, laughing together and sharing about ourselves, our favorite movies, etc. We will miss him. At the airport, he was so kind to give his own bracelets to our youngest daughter, because we couldn’t find any like them at the shops we stopped at in Arusha on our way back to the airport. If you have a chance to travel with Ezekiel, we highly recommend it. Finally, a few practical notes. We brought bug spray, sunscreen, and Great Britain power adapters, and used each (by the way, you can charge your phones in the vehicle). Mosquitos and malaria were not a concern in the areas we were in, in part because of the high elevation. We didn’t get any special travel vaccines before arriving. We brought Immodium but didn’t use it. We brought a couple towels and toilet paper but didn’t need them in the lodges. You might want a little toilet paper for random bathroom stops along the way, just in case. We brought lots of snack food (trail mix, granola bars, dried fruit) but barely touched it. Of course, your needs may vary depending on where you stay and which month you visit. Also, our cell phones worked great for anything up close, but you really need a good camera with optical zoom to capture anything further away. Most of our favorite pictures were captured by cell phones (iPhone 13), unless they were distance shots.
Had a great time. Food was excellent and enjoyed our accommodation. Got to see a ton of animals including watching a Lion hunt and kill a Zebra. Heads up to Vincent who looked after us and knew his way around like an expert. Service was great everywhere we went.
We did a group safari for 6 days, 5 nights and visited Lake Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire and Arusha National Park in the first week of November. It was simply amazing. Everything worked exactly the way it was planned. It was well organized, we had our Chef Ben with us who cooked every meal freshly. Other groups I saw had prepacked lunch boxed but we had fresh pots and even plates, even in the national parks lunch sites, which is more sustainable and healthier I guess. Our guide Rocky made the trip unforgettable. You can tell is is passionate about nature and wildlife. He knows so much and gave a lot of valueable information. He was funny and charming and made our experience very special. We loved Rocky. We saw a lot of animals from a very close distance, some were right in front of / next to the car but everything was with respect to nature. Also the camping was very exciting we thought. It might be good to know in advance that it can get chilly at night (especially at Ngorongoro) and you should bring warm clothes. Also, it is recommended to pack a small safari bag and not bring the entire suitcase to the safari, especially when on a group tour and doing camping. We loved the safari so much and will consider to do it again, maybe during the great migration. Thank you Suricata Safaris and Rocky for this unforgettable trip. ♥
This is our best way to start our honeymoon! The host Hillary was incredible! We had a delay with our flight he knew we was having a bad time cause of the long delay so when we landed he made sure everything was happening so smooth! The driver Ally was so sweet and helpful! Beside that the safari was an amazing experience, we had a good guide ”Louis” who made sure we always was comfortable and also made sure that we saw as much animals as possible from very close! The lodges were beautiful! Everything was as we hoped actually it was more than what we expected! I would definitely recommend this company Suricata to anyone who wants to live a very rich and luxury experience and also if it’s your first safari cause you will have everything planned so professionally. Hilary had a very sweet way of ending our journey with offering us a wonderful traditional dinner in a restaurant! Again it was awesome! My wife and I we are already thinking of doing it again! Hopefully we will get to see the Leopard this time as it was the one we didn’t see from the Big Five! Thank you Suricata Safaris!
From the initial moments of planning our trip to the minute we were dropped off at the airport to return home, Suricata Safari was absolutely impeccable. To begin with, they clearly offer an excellent price in an environment that is incredibly competitive. Safaris are expensive by definition, but Hilary and his team will discuss your budget with you and present you with the options available so that you can have the trip you dreamed of. Hilary showed us a lot of flexibility in tailoring the trip to our needs, adding extra days or trimming unnecessary stops, allowing us to choose our own hotels in some cases, and even changing the itinerary to ensure that pre-history buffs like us could make a stop at the Olduvai Museum. As we planned our trip, Hilary made time to speak with us on video late in the night, and in general not 2 minutes would pass before a question on whatsapp was thoroughly answered. The safari experience in itself was mind blowing—among the best we’ve done so far, and we’ve been around. The stops Suricata Safaris suggested were all spot-on. We saw lots and lots of animals and an incredible wealth of nature in general. The car is excellent and provides all the visibility you need to get the perfect experience. Like in a magic trick, lunch is served hot even after hours on the road. While tourists in other cars are eating cold sandwiches, you’re eating a warm, delicious home-made style food, followed by dessert and coffee. The hotels suggested by Suricata were all great (full disclosure: we did replace some of the hotels originally recommended; for example, we stayed in Sheraton Four Points in Arusha and Meliã Serengeti in the Serengeti Park). A word about our extraordinary guide Ezekiel: the man is a superstar. What a fantastic, special human being. As we told him at the end of our trip, your safari guide becomes an integral part of your trip—he will spend most of the time during the trip with you. He’s a part of your group. For this reason, a guide can really make or break your trip. Well, Ezekiel made ours. He was the best company we could have hoped for. He’s appropriate, respectful, and well-spoken—in fact, he is an articulate speaker who is very knowledgeable about Africa and its fauna and flora, but also one who knows to cherish silence at times. He is astonishingly driven and hardworking, but has a sharp sense of humor. He went out of his way countless times to make sure we saw something or did something we wanted, and we finished the trip with the feeling that we gained a friend. Watching young, talented, hardworking men like Hilary and Ezekiel has got to make you hopeful and optimistic about the continent’s future.
We did a private safari for 6 days with my husband (2 nights in Tarangire, 2 nights in Serengeti, 1 night in Ngorongoro). Jordan was an exceptional guide with a wealth of knowledge. He taught us a lot about the animals (he is truly passionate, and it shows!), about the flora of different places, about Tanzanian culture, and much more. We were lucky to see the Big Five and all the animals we wanted to observe (all while avoiding the tsetse flies!!!), we learned many words in Swahili, and we laughed a lot! You can trust Suricata and Jordan!
The experience was unforgettablely beautiful. Everything worked out great and the staff was always friendly and professional. Our safari guide Frank was the best and we can only recommend him. High praise.
We concluded today 5 days of magnificent safaris (Tarangire-Serengeti-Ngorongoro). It was a wonderful experience. We were particularly impressed by the Serengeti National Park. Our guide Jumbe Frank took us over on Monday and made us live a dream. He accompanied us, followed us, instructed us and pampered us at all times. We lived precious moments, in tune with nature and the environment that surrounded us. We saw 4 of the big five up close and discovered the variety and beauty of Tanzania. Jumbe Frank also provided us with a lot of interesting information about the culture and traditions of this beautiful land. All the structures proposed and organized by Suricata Safari welcomed us with goodwill, great hospitality and kindness. Jumbe Frank’s nature lunch picnics will forever remain in our hearts and memories. Tasty food, breathtaking views and exchange of recipes. A fantastic safari, a single success without any problem or hitch and with so many emotions. An unforgettable and unique experience for the whole family. We can only recommend Suricata Safari and our precious Jumbe Frank. Thank you so much!
It's been amazing. We saw many animals, beautiful landscapes, the people of Meerkat Safari very attentive, friendly, cheerful, patient. Super comfortable with our Guide. The delicious and organic food. The car's fine. Everything is very well organized with excellent logistics, you know your business very well. Very good atmosphere, people from all over the world enjoying the same as us. With them I want to return to other adventures.
It was a great experience! A dream of a lifetime! Meerkat Safari and our Livingstone Guide were great!5/5
I found Suricata Safaris via the internet and was impressed by the countless positive reviews. So I convinced myself to write to him and never decision was fairer! Hilary was very kind and met all our requests: we stayed in great facilities with wonderful scenery and eating really well. Mandela (the guide) was fantastic throughout the trip taking us around all the parks in the most hidden areas and above all gave us great driving confidence both during the safari and during transfers. Therefore, if you feel like going on a Safari in Tanzania, and want to pay for a quality Service, the choice must be Suricata!
We participated in a 6 day safari visiting Terengeri, Serengeti (including the North) Ngorogoro and Manyara. We saw all the animals (except the very rare rhinoceros) , and we were lucky enough to witness the great migration of wildebeest on the Mara River, an unforgettable experience. All thanks to Ezekiel, a trained guide, a serious boy, always available and excellent company, but without being intrusive. Very welcoming facilities, including tented camps, and quality food. The program in terms of housing has been a bit varied, but they have always met the required standards. Safari super recommended.
The tour was really complete, great food and also enjoyed by my 4 year old daughter. The very comfortable lodges and tented camps, albeit with basic facilities, made us feel pampered and protected. They want to pay everything in advance and careful if you pay in euros, because they will apply exchange of their bank, it is better to define everything well beforehand to avoid discussions on the spot. The guide Ezechiel was super, prepared, discreet but sociable, always had the situation under control, showed us all the animals possible and stuck to the decided schedule. Unforgettable experience and to recommend. Excellent value for money compared to the average.
We booked a private 6-day safari with Suricata on the recommendation of a friend and had an indescribable time in Tanzania thanks to our guide Frederic. Already in advance we were advised by Hilary (via Whatsapp) and were able to put together our desired route. The safari itself far exceeded our expectations: Thanks to Frederic we saw the Big Five and many other animals up close. The lodges, tent camps and food made for a great safari experience. Frederic was a super friendly guide, very professional and patient, a safe driver and knew the parks excellently. He impressed us time and again with his knowledge of the wildlife and took time to answer our many questions. You soon notice that Suricata stands out from many other safari providers: The atmosphere is familiar, the team very motivated and the Service individual. We can recommend Suricata without restriction!
The 6-day tour with Suricata more than exceeded our expectations. Booking went uncomplicated via WhatsApp, everything worked as planned and all were very reliable. Our guide Vince was in a great mood and could tell us a lot about Tanzania, the Serengeti, the people and the animals through his long experience. Since we had booked a private tour, we could decide very flexibly when to start etc. and Vince took all our wishes into account. In addition, it was nice to have someone younger as a guide who still has 10 years of experience but is very easy going. Not only did we see all the animals (Big 5 and more), we were also able to experience them very close and also discover animals that you would not have seen like this. The accommodations were great and the food was great too, especially lunch (we always had hot, freshly cooked food for lunch, while many other tour operators only had snacks for lunch). I would definitely recommend Suricata to anyone who would like to experience an individual, exciting and relaxed tour! Thank you very much:-)
We did a 6-day safari with Suricata Safari from Arusha to Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. Suricata Safari is run by young locals from Arusha and is therefore much more engaged and personal than many other commercial providers. Communication and transfers from the airport and lodges was great, the team is very reliable! Baobab Lodge in the Serengeti is particularly recommended. Unlike most other providers, we were also served lunch and very good and fresh hot food, definitely a plus! Our guide Vincent was great, could be perfect on and has responded to all wishes, we also did something with him in Arusha, highly recommended. It was a perfect safari!
