We had an absolutely amazing experience on our seven-day private safari with Suricata Safaris! From the very beginning, our guide Filix made the trip unforgettable. He is incredibly professional, caring, humorous, and genuinely one of the nicest people we have had the pleasure of spending time with. Filix was extremely patient and looked after us throughout the entire safari, while also giving us the space and independence that we really appreciated. His knowledge of the animals and the Serengeti was outstanding, but what impressed us most was that he didn’t just know about the wildlife — he truly cared about it. Filix has a deep respect for the animals, the environment, and his home country. He shared so much about Tanzanian culture, conservation, and the importance of protecting the incredible ecosystems we were lucky enough to experience. Filix went above and beyond to make sure we had the best possible safari. He worked incredibly hard to help us see the Big Five, and we were fortunate enough to achieve this goal. On our final day, we had the unforgettable experience of seeing a group of four rhinos, completing our Big Five sightings and creating the perfect ending to an already incredible journey. We cannot recommend Suricata Safaris highly enough. The organisation, professionalism, and care shown throughout the trip were exceptional. If you are planning a safari, we would highly recommend requesting Filix as your guide — he will do everything he can to make your experience truly unforgettable. Thank you, Filix, and thank you Suricata Safaris, for an incredible safari adventure that we will remember for the rest of our lives.
Finishing our first day with our guide Steven - we loved every bit of it and look forward to the rest of the journey! We are in the most beautiful lodge right now and were lucky enough to spot 3 of the big 5 today only!
It was just perfect. Everything was organised excellent. We had 6days Safari in Tarangire, South and North Serengeti and Ngorongoro Mid range. Hotels were fine and camps were great. But all above it all, was our guide Fredy. His knowledge and experience was spectacular and he is also a great person.
We had the most incredible experience on our 6-day private safari tour (Tarangire – Serengeti – Ngorongoro). Our guide, Frank, was absolutely exceptional – truly the best guide we could have hoped for. He went above and beyond to show us the amazing wildlife, plants, and hidden details of Tanzania, all while making sure we felt comfortable, cared for, and well looked after throughout the journey. His knowledge, kindness, and dedication made the trip unforgettable. The accommodations were also fantastic. We stayed at Suricata Boma Lodge, Kumbukumbu Tented Camp, and Tortilis Camp – each one was beautiful in its own way. The staff at all three places were incredibly kind, attentive, and helpful in every aspect imaginable, which made our stays even more enjoyable. This safari was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, filled with memories I will treasure forever. Thanks to Frank and the wonderful teams at each lodge, everything was perfect. I can’t recommend this safari highly enough – 100% worth it!
Lewis was our guide and James our chef for our family safari. They were both excellent and made this trip the holiday of a lifetime we had hoped for. Lewis is knowledgeable, interesting, easy-going, organised and extremely hard working. We have a lot to thank him for. How James manages to produce varied and really tasty food (and masses of it) in pretty basic conditions, is beyond me. We really appreciate them both and would happily recommend them to anyone lucky enough to get them on their tour.
Unforgettable safari with Suricata – beyond anything we imagined! Our 6-day safari with Suricata Safaris was one of those once-in-a-lifetime experiences you never forget — and honestly, it’s hard to describe with words. The connection with wildlife was so real, so raw… seeing lions just meters away, watching elephants stroll past us, the sunsets over the Serengeti — it felt like living inside a nature documentary. From the very beginning, the Suricata team made everything smooth and easy. ⭐️ Grace helped us with the booking process and planning — super kind, helpful, and always patient with our questions. 📍 At arrival, Daniel welcomed us and walked us through the full itinerary in such a clear and friendly way that we felt instantly at ease. 🚗 And Adam, our guide and driver for the entire safari — what a gem! He was knowledgeable, fun, and always made sure we were safe, comfortable, and in the right spot at the right time. Honestly, Adam made our trip 10x better. We visited Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti, the Ngorongoro conservation area and crater — every place had something magical. We stayed in Boma Suricata Lodge, Tortilis Camp and Ang’ata Ngorongoro camp, all amazing in their own way — cozy, well-located, and with that special feeling of being in the heart of nature. After the safari, we ended our adventure in Zanzibar, relaxing on its stunning beaches — the perfect way to wind down after so many incredible moments. If you’re thinking of doing a safari in Tanzania, don’t think twice — Suricata Safaris will give you not just a trip, but a life experience. We’re beyond grateful!
We had the best driver and animal spotter in Tanzania - thank you Fredy, you are the best! You anwered all quesrions and have a great sense of humor. Everything was well organized, Daniel briefed and debriefed us. I appriciated a lot the lunch with real dishes and freshly prepared food, very ecological - no plastic waste and tasty at the same time..
It was truly an unforgettable experience! Our tour guide Jumbe (Frank) was not only knowledgeable but also incredibly enthusiastic, which made the trip even more enjoyable. He went above and beyond to ensure we saw all of the Big Five and shared fascinating insights about Tanzania’s diverse bird species, local ecosystems, and the intricate relationships within nature. His passion for wildlife was contagious, and we learned so much more than we ever expected. The safari felt like a perfect blend of adventure and exploration all thanks to his expertise and dedication. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide or a more memorable journey! He also helped my partner to arrange the best spot in the Serengeti for our engagement proposal. Glory who was our travel coordinator was also great in all the arrangements, and was prompt in all her replies. I can highly recommend Suricata safari and its team. Asante sana
We had an amazing time on our Suricata safari. We visited all 4 parks in the Northern Circuit(Ngorongoro and Serengeti our favourites, but all were great). We saw a really wide range of wildlife including all of the big 5 and our guide, Max, and chef, Jeremiah, were incredibly friendly, helpful and resourceful throughout. Max helped us see so many animals we wouldn’t have and Jeremiah's cooking was great throughout. We would thoroughly recommend.
We had a great experience on our 6 day safari! When we were picked up at the airport we were still nervous but Chucke welcomed us and helped us to organize all necessary’s( mosquito spray / dinner, etc.). Next day we met Lewis, our tour guide! Great guy, took his time to explain everything, never pushed and funny personality! Additionally we had a personal chef named Jeremiah who cooked 3 times a day. Also a great dude who cooked delicious food. We booked a camping safari and the both, plus all people in the camps, have made the trip special. We started in Tarangire, then headed to Lake Manyara, 2 Days Serengeti and last but not least we went 1 day to Ngorongoro (+1 day driving combined). From the great 5 to the ugly 5, thanks to Lewis we have seen everything! My personal favorite was Serengeti, as we seen so many big cats. Lion family of 18. 3 Cheetah together and leopards chilling on trees. I can highly recommend to book a tour with Suricata Safari and wish all the people the best! I proudly will tell everyone at home about that adventure 🫶
We loved our trip with Suricata! The food was amazing by jeremias! The guide Lewis was perfect! The ride and dinner with Rin were funny ! Our 6 days private camping tour was wonderful. We had very much fun and enjoyed being outside in the nature with all this wonderful animals ! We saw all animals and so our tour was a success! Thank you Suricata ! Keep on !
Wow what an unforgettable experience! I booked my six day private safari with Suricata Safaris online and I can say that when I come back with the rest of my family I will 100% be booking with them again. So where to start, first off Chuke, what an absolute legend of a guy. I arrived in Arusha a day early and asked Suricata what I could do around town and they immediately organised Chuke to meet me the next day for a full tour of Arusha and also to fulfil a request of mine to donate to a local organisation in need. I’ve travelled personally to around 40 countries and Chuke is the best host I’ve ever had for a city tour. We spent a good part of the day helping a local childcare as I’d requested, which was amazing, and also we toured the city by car and on foot through markets, met a lot of locals and friends he knew personally that really added to the experience, had lunch at his favourite restaurant, this was a personal tour, not just your typical commercial style. Through a Chuke’s connections we even finished the day with a special rooftop view of Arusha that I can guarantee is not on any other tour’s list…Chuke was then my briefer for the Safari due to start the next day and just made the whole experience super smooth. There were no hidden catches or fees like happens so often, just exactly as described, which I loved. (And when I returned back from my safari Chuke was there at my hotel waiting, with a huge smile and a hug. He then made sure I was all sorted and my airport transfer (included) was setup as it needed to be. Honestly I didn’t need to worry about a thing). The first morning of my Safari I was greeted with a warm smile at my hotel by my guide for the next six days ‘Golden’. When you’re travelling solo having a good rapport with your guide is so crucial and I knew straight away that this wasn’t going to be an issue. First stop was Tarangire National Park which was epic and so well worth it. Golden knew all the best spots, often taking me locations not frequented by the other jeeps to find ‘hidden treasures’ of the park. (This continued all week). Along the way to Serengeti we picked up our personal chef for the six days Jeremiah (yes I was very spoilt!). Over the next six days he produced restaurant quality three course meals breakfast lunch and dinner on his own that simply blew my mind. He even baked fresh bread over charcoal morning and night, the food was so so good I made him give me some recipes to take home. It was a bit of a running joke that other tour guides didn’t want to sit their clients next to us at the picnic lunch spots because while they had their cardboard boxed lunches, we had three course restaurant quality! The other guides didn’t want their clients asking why they didn’t have what we had! Once we got to Serengeti we were lucky to have three nights four days to really experience the park. Like Golden said, many people come to Serengeti, but very few really experience what it has to offer. We drove far and wide, away from the hustle of central Serengeti and man did it pay its rewards. We saw the ‘big five’ but so so much more. Countless up close and personal experiences with lions, and also Cheetahs and Leopards (and everything else) that can’t be found without an extremely knowledgeable guide. I have absolutely no doubt that this experience would not have been what it was if I didn’t have Golden as my guide. If you’re going Suricata, you want Golden. Trust me. On my last day in Ngogorogoro Crater, everyone was on the hunt for a Rhino when we arrived in the morning, no guides had found one. Golden drove us straight to a location and within a minute found two rhinos, the only sighting that day and soon enough we were surrounded by a dozen cars all asking where to see them. Very cool to be in that team. On my way home I’d even shown an interest in purchasing Tanzanite and Golden personally took me into Arusha in his own time to make sure I didn’t get ripped off and got a good deal. It was genuinely a sad day saying goodbye to Chuke, Golden and Jeremiah. I don’t normally write reviews but I just had such a great experience with these guys that I felt it needed it, and also I know how hard/scary it can be booking online from overseas when you have no idea what the company is like. I’ve just done that work for you. Suricata all the way. Thank me later.
Everything was really good, all the food, the places were we stayed and of course the safari views, animals and everything was nice! I would love to make this safari again
Very good, nice driver, nice chef, nice trip. Everything was great! Our driver explained everything and answered all of our questions!
This was a fantastic 6 day tour of Lake Manyara, Serengeti, Tarangire and Ngorogoro Crater. Absolutely amazing. We had to book a bespoke tour to fit in with other activities at either end of this trip and Suricata were so very accommodating. Tizia was amazing to deal with via WhatsApp. Communication was first rate. Our driver Ezekiel was simply the best. His years of experience put us into the best places in the parks. We saw the lot. Yes, nature is random, but Ezekie made it possible. Thank you Ezekie. Daniel and Dennis were our assistants in Arusha and showed us around on a spare day for a half day tour. They are great people and we saw some incredible things that only local knowledge would get you to. I will say this, when booking the tour from Australia online, we were hesitant to commit, not knowing if we had chosen wisely. Fortunately for us we did. If you’re looking to explore the Serengeti and surrounds in Tanzania, be assured these guys are top notch. We were especially privileged to spend 2 nights at there own lodge on the shore of Lake Manyara - Suricata Boma Lodge. 5 stars!!!
I can’t rate Suricata Safari highly enough. We had a fantastic city tour with Mr Google Map(Daniel) and Dennis as our guide and driver. Great local knowledge and experience. We then had a fabulous 6 day private lodge/glamping trip with the wonderful Ezekie as our guide. Our accommodation was outstanding- the chiefs and staff at all facilities couldn’t be more helpful. The food was great. Suricata Safaris took care of everything.- organised the itinerary and worked with us for an individual experience. ( visited Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara, Serengeti National Park and Ngorogoro Crater). Really grateful for the wonderful memories and experience they provided. We would highly recommend them.
Top notch- nothing negative about our experience. The camping setup surpassed our expectations and the food was also amazing! Our guide Damien was excellent
We had an amazing safari experience with Suricata! Amiry was an outstanding guide that got us to see everything we wanted to see including the big five and two big cat kills! Mr. T and Glory were amazing in their coordination of a once in a lifetime trip. I would absolutely recommend them and book with them again.
Fantastic trip to serengetti - saw the Wildee beast migration . The introduction briefing was very crystal clear and was followed flawlessly. Excellent tour guide and Driver - Mr Damien - kudos to his knowledge and sensibility in finding the wild animals and their spotting . Very humble and very informative , he made the tour very very special . This is our second trip with Mr Damien and Suricata . Worth the money .
Eeverything was perfectly organized. Food was great thanks to Salim, and our guide Lewis was great, he provided us tons of information about the land, animals and everything. He was very kind and professional. We are very thankful for everything.
We had an amazing experience with Suricata Safaris. Everything went smoothly and was well organized. We did the Camping Safari, which we recommend to everybody. Our guide Frederick and our cook James were amazing. We learned so much about Tansania, Tansania Wild Life and every meal was super tasty and fresh! They made sure we had a great experience! Every Nationalpark had its own beauty and the six days we spend here went by quickly. The private tour was perfect since we could move around freely in the car and could stop and go whenever we wanted to.
Amazing experience with Lewis AZD, Musa (chef), daniel and the company, we saw so many animals, and Lewis knew all the right places to bring us, making sure that we enjoyed ourselves! We would highly recommend this company, they will deliver and give more to ensure that your trip is one that youll definetely remember! Do spot the rhinos on our behalf those guys were way elusive this trip, but we’ll definetely be back with this trip! Musa even cooked us special tanzanian food and made sure we were warm when ngorongoro was <11degrees! Even camping with this company is a luxury with beds so highly worth!
The safari was amazing and beyond our expectations. The crew for our safari were all very experienced. We had our guide Lewis AZD , Chef Musa and Briefer Daniel :) Lewis was extremely skilled and could spot all the animals we wanted to see for us and help us get the best pictures. Chef Musa was very thoughtful and even personalised some of our meals to our palettes and gave us popcorn while we were watching the giraffes! Everything was very well planned and we didn’t have to worry about time accommodation or food We really enjoyed ourselves and would definitely recommend Suricata Safaris to everyone !
We were in a group of five adults and a two-year-old child. we took the private safari through Tarangire, Ngorongoro ando Serengueti parks and they all provided us with incredible experiences with beautiful landscapes and wonderful animals. It was a game drive Safari in a big and confort car that acomodates we all and the company arranged a child seat to ensure safety as one of our requests. Accommodation varied along the route and according to location, but all met our needs with comfortable beds and hot water for showers. The staff are always very attentive and friendly. In the north of Serengeti the accommodation is a little more rustic and the bathing water is salty , but I believe this is a characteristic of the more remote location. We had the best tour guide in the world, Rocky is a very special and attentive person, always looking to our needs , and extremely kind with our little child. It was all very special, hard to say goodbye. I strongly recommend the tour, the company and especially the guide.
Amazing, amazing, amazing! This is without a doubt one of my best travel experiences ever. I’ve wanted to visit the Serengeti and see the migration for decades and this Safari with Suricata went beyond all of my expectations. From the planning stages and the first briefing with Daniel on arrival, through the 6 days with my guide Lewis2 and excellent chef Salim, to my debriefing and Arusha walk around on my last night with Abdi, everything was very professionally handled and everyone was friendly, engaged and knowledgeable. Lewis2 was a font of knowledge on all things Tanzania, Serengeti, migration and culture. An added bonus was that he is a Masai and he shared some wonderful insights to the Masai culture which I would not have otherwise received. Salim was a great chef with a broad range of foods and very happy to cater to my specific needs. It was a joy to spend time with them on the long drives and in the evening which was super important when you are spending full days and evenings together. In terms of wildlife, we saw it all. Lion kills, cheeta kills, migration river crossing with crocodile kills, and every animal you can imagine. Lewis2 was highly focussed getting the best viewpoints and ensuring my wish to see the migration river crossing was fulfilled. I’m planning on a return trip with my family and will definitely go directly to Suricata again. I can not recommend them highly enough.
We had an amazing and professional safari experience with Suricata safaris thanks to their team Edgard and Ali. We made an unusual start from the North and Lake Natron and the team followed our desired plan. We loved this safari and the organisation of Suricara was flawless Do not hesitate to book your dreamed safari through them
Amazing team, very professional and warm group! Thank you for all Suricata team! Thank you for support and incredible experience!
Simply outstanding. From the beginning, Suricata tailored the plan to my girlfriend and my specific requests (we wanted extra time in the Serengeti and to camp in the parks, over a 6 day tour), and they offered detailed insights as to their recommendations on times and locations. When our flight was delayed by 12 hours, they worked around the issue and picked us up directly at the airport. We also cannot say enough about our guide Ezekiel. He was exceptionally kind and funny, and knowledgeable about his country and about all four of the parks we visited. He knew every animal and plant we saw, with endless fun facts about them, and navigated the parks with ease, taking us to spots he knew were often best for extraordinary sightings. We saw multiple of virtually every animal imaginable (the big five plus many more), often without the annoying presence of 20+ other cars because of his ability to find them in spots far from the main roads. For example, we saw a mother cheetah hunting with her two cubs, a family of lions feeding on a kudu, a leopard sleeping in an acacia, and countless 20+ herds of elephants, all completely isolated from other cars, or with just one other car in the vicinity. He took time to bring us to particularly photogenic landscape points, as I enjoy photography, and was also friends with seemingly every guide we passed, stopping to quickly chat and catch up about any special sightings, which often led to further exceptional finds. As we had selected the camping option, Suricata also provided us a chef for the entire trip, Chef Tito. A master of his craft, and using the minimal utensils and space afforded by campground facilities - without electricity or running drinking water, and in remote places without access to additional foods, he cooked up feasts for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, mixing local specialities with international fare, always giving us far more than we could eat (4-6 distinct plates for each meal, with a starter, fresh fruit and dessert at lunch and dinner, and never repeating any except those we specifically requested again!) - and always absolutely delicious. The food was regularly of higher quality than we receive at restaurants in Europe, despite highly challenging cooking conditions. He even made us a unique cake every night, using charcoal fire and a Dutch oven, and showed us his techniques and recipes. The logistics were managed without a hiccup, despite our flight delay, and they helped us get sim cards, essentials, and fresh breakfast each day, despite regular 545am starts to see the best game. The tent they provided was spacious (pictured in our camp at Ngorongoro), the cots very comfortable, and the campsites the selected were amazing - we had giraffes, buffaloes, and zebras pass just by the camp on multiple occasions, and lions and hyenas pass by in the night - perhaps not for everyone, but amazing to us! Can I say more? Book with Suricata today, you will not be disappointed!
I have picked Suricata Safari at first because of the good reviews, but to be honest I did not know what to expect. Now, after a 6 days safari trip I must say I am more than happy with my choice. The communication with Suricata was smooth and everything was according to our discussion, but what was the best of the best were the safaris. Vincent, our guide, is the most knowledgeable guide ever, he has the eye of a vulture and sees everything there is to see. Moreover, he is always patient so we had the chance to see some amazing wildlife in all its glory. Last but not least, the food was delicious. So, let me tell you, you must choose Suricata and you should ask for Vincent!
Wonderful family safari in the parks of Tanzania (Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro). An unforgettable experience for the locations as well as for the reliability and seriousness of Suricata Safaris, which accompanied us both during the organization phase and on-site. We appreciated the mixed formula of camping and lodge. Fantastic guide Damian, who accompanied us for six days with discretion, professionalism, and an amazing view that allowed us to see all the animals up close! Highly recommended!
Our private safari with Suricata Safari was an absolute dream experience! The program was perfectly coordinated: 1 day in Tarangire National Park, 1 day on Lake Manyara, 1 day in Ngorongoro Crater, then two full days in Serengeti and finally a day of travel back. During this time, we actually saw all the Big 5 – an unforgettable highlight! In addition, there were very special experiences such as lions in the “Honeymoon” and a real elephant pool party – moments you will never forget again. A huge thank you to our great guides Damian and Aizack who have made every trip an adventure with a lot of knowledge, experience and humor. And of course to our “boss” James, who spoiled us with freshly cooked, delicious meals on the way – simply fantastic! After this intensive safari, the conclusion at Suricata Boma Lodge was perfect: Pure relaxation in lovingly furnished cottages, excellent food and the warm hospitality of the entire team. Just the thing to let the impressions work before we went on to Zanzibar. Organisation, support and procedures were all-round professional – but at the same time warm and personal. We can fully recommend Suricata Safari – if you want to experience an unforgettable safari, this is the place for you!
It was a great tour. We've seen a super lot of animals, a lot of cheetahs, even a leopard. Some animals were just a few meters away from us. Our guide Freddy has a lot of experience and knows a lot about it. He's the best driver and the best animal finder. The accommodations were very good. Very friendly staff everywhere.
Wonderful experience with Suricata Safaris. Excellent organization from the first to the last minute. We organized everything through whatsapp with the very kind and helpful Tizia. We arrived in Arusha the day before the departure of the safari and stayed at the Jevas Hotel Encore (included in our package). The formula we chose was 6 days and 5 nights, camping (tent, cot, sleeping bags provided by them): Tarangire, Lake Manyara, 2 days at Serengeti and the last morning at Ngorongoro. Very good food, especially during dinner, our cook Bipa, a young and very good boy, spoiled us and even had the care to prepare some dishes especially for our five-year-old son. Special mention to our Guide, driver and now friend, Rocky: kind, heartfelt, funny, helpful and very knowledgeable. It allowed us to live a magnificent experience and learn a lot about the animals seen. As for the parks I will not spoil the surprise but picnicking in the Serengeti, seeing the sunrise with animals or having breakfast in the crater of Ngorongoro are priceless experiences.
Super 6-day family camping safari: Lake Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Tarangire. Unforgettable memory in Serengeti and Ngorongoro where we sleep among animals. Rocky our guide speaks French very well and has a good knowledge of wildlife and history. He showed us lots of animals with his lynx eye. He was very kind to the children and always took care of us. The food prepared by Salim was excellent and delighted the children. Recent and comfortable Land Cruiser.
Magnificent private family safari with our 3 children in Taranguire, Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. Our guide Rocky spoke French very well. He listened to us and did everything so that we could see as many animals as possible. He explained well the way of life of the animals as well as the history of the places visited. Our cook Salim prepared balanced, varied and delicious dishes for us. Everything was homemade including the bread. Rocky and Salim were very kind to us and the children. Our car was very comfortable. This is the first time we have camped, sleeping among the animals was an unforgettable experience. We leave with wonderful family memories.
